Mostly elderly people near me - not one wearing a face mask

No one is wearing one. Do people have a death wish?

What is this panic to go out an mingle?

Talking about "only" 90 people died in the last 24hrs - oh well that's ok - unless you're one of those 90 people or their family.

This lazy attitude leaves me stunned

That always amazes me too Sainty

They don't care because they think they're invincible...and being young they take no notice of anyone....tell them not to do something and they'll go and do it anyway

That would be fine Kaytee if it was just their own lives  they were risking But I’m willing to bet they have parents and grandparents who they could end up infecting . Point in case , I read that infection numbers are rising again in many states in the US , after a holiday weekend .

Well that doesn't seem to enter their heads...

Some positive news today for a change ....apparently a cheap, readily available,  steroid appears to cut the death rate of the poorliest patients , ie those needing oxygen and  on ventilators .

@Former Member. Have a virtual hug and let's scream together. We're virtually negating the (supposed) reason we went into lockdown in the first place! It's beginning to look like it was just a gimmick!!!!!!!

Jings!!!!

Other people break the rules. Hancock. however, just 'slips-up'.

I saw Hancock on PMQ's this week. He was saying how Britain has a world class this... We are world leaders in ... We have the best people working on ...

What I would like to know is how Hancock could possible qualify any of thoses statements. For example, how does he know we have the best of... if other countries are very 'closed shop' and don't let information out.

I would have to say, that I would stake my mortgage on it that Hancock was just spouting uneducated, unquantifyable sh*t.

I am just listening to the daily blah blah on the radio.
One of the the most condescending phrases, which crops up very often in answer to a question is, “as you well know”. It makes me

Shockingly TESCO are now offering delivery slots for FREE and others for 50p

Previously some were £7.50 in our area

Have not been able to get a delivery slot from anywhere during the pandemic, thank goodness for my daughters

Cheapest I can get is £2.50...….if I want to sit up to 11 pm. THEN have the pleasure of putting it all away between then and midnight.

Do you not just order a box of eggs and 'then' check out to secure that slot?

Than go back later to update before delivery

Yes, but all the slots have different prices. Cheapest slots are generally unsociable times. Day-time slots tend to be £4.50 to £6.50

Fridge and freezer stuff. Can't leave it lying overnight. So I select an earlier delivery. which means a more leisurely  sorting out, but means a higher charge!

I don’t know if it is just me but there seems to be an attitude of “we are okay now, let’s get back to normal “.  My elderly parents are still shielding, family are only essential shopping and no one is going out socialising,  while everyone else is behaving like the threat doesn’t exist

I’m with you Machel .....people are being far to cavalier imo ....and no doubt they will be moaning when the second wave appears ....but they won’t see  their own behaviour as a contributing factor ! Me , I’m staying in lockdown !

Not just you Machel, it feels like that's the general attitude these days, to me too. I think this has been generated (mostly) by the rapid (too rapid in my estimation) easing of restrictions. There are people still dyimg out there!!!!

Meant to mention this earlier, but I received an email on Friday from Cineworld informing me that they intend to reopen on July 10th.

They are planning a number of measures: one of the biggies is "social distancing" (which includes a new seating plan), but they'll also have PPE (gloves, masks) for staff and more novel ideas such as staggered screening times to prevent build-ups of customers. However it does not look like they will be insisting on face masks/coverings for customers...

I have had the same email Eugene. To be honest, I will give it a couple of months before I venture out, although Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond is a must for me. But that is likely to be a November release now.

I heard on the radio this morning whne they did the newpapers bit. They mentioned the Mirror's headling "Eat Drink and be Wary". If you recognise what that headline is a play on words is, you would know the phrase which follows.
