For once, it was me who only found out about it after the event.
Can't say I noticed much going on outside in the rest of the street, though...

no ... don't even get me started. I wish him a speedy recovery and wouldn't wish this on anyone, but that doesn't make me think he deserves any praise for his handling of this. I can think of thousands that deserve a clap in these awful times, he's far less deserving of any applause than my neighbour, postman, or my daughter who goes to work everyday with the wrong masks and spends her day testing suspected cases. Like Amy I am bloody well raging and all this British spirit sh*t goes whoosh over my head...Don't politicalise it, but clap for out hero Boris....no, I bloody well won't.
Mad innit. Over 55,000 confirmed cases, who knows how many un....over 8000 dead in hospital.......how many at home.? How many misleading death certificates.
And applaud the architect?
Same would go for any other party who acted like this. Including Monster Raving Loony. And I think that's what we have.

It’s all very sad Velvet , but I hardly think you can call Boris the architect . I don’t think it’s any worse here than say Italy , or many other countries . This is a totally unprecedented event and all governments are doing what they think is right . Whether they are or not is another question ....but if you really want the architect then I suggest you need to look to the unsavoury , and unsanitary practices in Wuhan markets .
And we're to shop for essentials.
I'd like to see the checkout receipts for those in charge telling us how to live.

We're an island Baz and we've still got open open borders. They knew what was happening in China, had no pre-emptive contingincies, took no precautions, wasted weeks if not months and looks like they thought this virus was gonna take a left hand turn when it hit the North Sea/English Channel.
Sorry, that's my thoughts

I was under the impression that the clap for Boris was a form of, “Get Well Soon” and nothing to do with endorsing his policies or politics.
Maybe I misunderstood.

Why single him out then? Is he on a pedestal above other/us mere mortals?
How many are in intensive care or ICU's? How many are dead or dying?
Who's applauding for them? Or cheering them on?
I don't do token gestures.

Nor do I .....but each to their own .....if this situation is teaching me anything it’s that sweating the small stuff is a total waste of time and energy . Instead of getting our knickers in a twist about things that are outside our control , maybe we should be enjoying life , while we can?

Totally agree Baz....this thing is above politicking and ire should be directed at the morons not obeying the rules and so prolonging the agony of lockdown for longer

You're correct. My knickers were in a twist.
This is small stuff
Me...I'm still like WTF clap for Boris and I'm not getting my knickers in a twist over it, I am getting my knickers in a twist of how it was handled and to me that isn't small stuff. A nurse my daughter works with was confirmed today....thanks for all the masks, gowns, visors and ventilators you had weeks in advance to order and didn't bother doing. It's that kinda of stuff that pisses me off and I'm not going to clap the person in charge...like I said, I wish him a speedy recovery.
I'm not politicising it, I am stating fact........
*Breaking News*
It's just been announced on C4 News that Boris Johnson has been moved out of Intensive Care, and is now in a ward in St. Thomas' Hospital.

Robert Jenrick.
I'm not buying that excuse of delivering medication.

He had to drive 40 miles? No other way to get the stuff to his parents?
Most communities and local pharmacies have set up a help system for such things as getting food and medicine to people who can't leave their homes.
TESCO now charging £3 - £7 for delivery when previously it was just £1
Yesterday our neighbour entertained her daughter with lunch in the garden
Today our other neighbour have a group of visitors around and are chatting in their garden
Both are in their 80's with significant health problems and are deliberately flouting the guidance
While i've not left the house in nearly a month
So much want to report them

our Tesco have always been charging between £2.50 and £6.50. I had thought this was a nationwide thing!
Remember when they mocked Diane Abbott when she was ill for days...I give you Priti evil Babbage .....

Every day is groundhog day with these briefings Dame. She failed to address the more extreme behaviour of certain forces down South for one. And that behaviour is a worry.
Hancock is just rinse repeat. Staggering we're all watching this very real epic disaster unfold in what seems like slow motion. Clueless. Telling medics how to use their PPE - those that have it. That took the biscuit and is the wrong advice if cross contamination is of any concern. It looks like in Matthew's eyes it's not. And he's got "leading experts" on either side of him when he says it. We are in deep shit.

It depends on which day and at what time, it also makes a difference if you opt for a one hour slot rather than a four hour slot, charges can be from £1 to £6.50 from my local Tesco

Velvet, it's totally beyond belief...I really have to be careful what I say because I am so so angry.
Every time they open their mouths it's easily proven lies, just one after the other. I'm sure they think we are all idiots and don't look up these facts, every lie that comes out of their mouth I despise them a little bit more...Never mind, I'll just sing Land of Hope and Glory and all will be fine.... stay safe everyone, that's the best we can do for now.
