I generally don't understand threads like this, and I'm not on my own, that's why they usually just drop off the bottom of the page, if people don't explain stuff, how are others going to understand or reply to the topic? 
Exactly, as I just said Gel, I responsed to what I saw, which was 'someone has clipped someone around the ear' which is not clever or big. How many Danish au-pairs do you know?
It was obviously a joke.
In this country our au-pairs usually came from the Faroe Isles, before the opening up of the Eastern European market.
Except for those of us who can afford French or German, of course. That goes without saying.
As I already said; NOTHING in that post hinted that it was a joke, NOTHING! Also, there is no reason that anyone would not have a Danish Au Pair, as Au pairs come from anywhere and everywhere, .. I would have thought anyone should know that au pairs come from anywhere and everywhere!!! Why on earth someone would assume that an au pair would NEVER come from Denmark just baffles me. i had italian aupairs in london. had crying french, one month italian and miserable slovak in manchester - they all would have prefered a family in london and experience the 'action' there.
