I may have led a sheltered life but ................one of the most traumatic moments of my life was walking barefoot in the garden and treading on a slug ..............eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuugh!

Why anyone would cause a living thing harm just because they don't like them is beyond me..

I would happily see wasps, cockroaches,stag beetles and slugs obliterated. I'm sorry but I don't love every living thing - some of them are horrible.,

I was referring to salt being poured on a slug - I assumed for no reason other than, whoever it was that said it, doesnt like slugs.

Killing a wasp because they pose a threat to you or your baby is one thing and anyone would protect their own.

BUT killing a spider ( for example) because you don't like them is not nice. Mainly because not many spiders in this country would hurt you.

I would never hurt a spider but see my post above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ i'd quite happily kill some things. I know it's not right - it's just how I am. OOOOOOOOOOOOh and incidentally (although straying away from insects) add rats to my list!

NO!  to slug pellets,they are a toxic poison that can harm many other creatures.Beer traps for slugs,if you have to.I've still to be convinced by "harmles" slug pellets on the market now.

Human arrogance as  usual that we are more worthy of life than any other creature on the planet.We  are/have  destroyed more species and plants,forrests etc .

 Gets the beer out and hopes it doesn't backfire....

I love spiders.They are totally fascinating.I have a few round the house,I leave them be.There is one in my bedroom that trundles along the walls etc it was on my bed the other morning,I simply moved it by hand to a corner of the room.

i must admit  i don't mind * harmless moths *divebombing*    when i turn a light on  ............ but i do go on kill mode  when i see a wasp   its kill or be killed

Many animals such as rats etc are there because of us and our dirty,throw away, wastefull ways.Animals adapt to food sources and easier lifestyles,we humans provide it.

Assuming the ants infesting my cupboards were posing a health hazard then they would clearly have to be disposed of.

If they weren't. I would do my best to clear them out of the house - alive.

I think you're kind of missing the point that Issy and I have made.

They are amazing little creatures and I could never hurt one.
