According to what she said on HL, she hasn't changed her name by deed-poll - probably for exactly the reason you give. It's really just a nickname.
It's usually suggested by hairdressers that people who have a long shape face should have their hair length at the jawline. Haven't seen too much of BB yet but she seems ok to me but maybe she won't fit in with some of the others
