Think of us poor folk who don't have a Budgens for miles around....I have a mini (really mini) Tesco corner shop.  Though it's great if you suddenly need sea salted cashews and fabric softener at 10 pm (I mean you do don't you, of course )

I  do have a Tesco Express at the end of the road and it is next to a great Indian restaurant/takeaway.

I was!  I was baking buns.  When did buns become cupcakes btw?  I prefer the good old bun.  Bun is a fine word.  It even doubles as a hairstyle for Princess Anne.

I also live 3 doors down from a pub which can be madly entertaining when they do the karaoke nights.

buns are what you put jam in and they are bread based.
I just call the ones in cake cases small cakes or whatever I am making  I.e butterfly cakes or fairy cakes or rock cakes.

Oh well.  You can move if you win the lottery. 

and how are buns and cupcakes different?  Cupcakes appear to have more icing, is that it?   People don't seem to bake poor old buns these days.

Actually Budgens is keeping in line with the original point of the thread which can I just remind everyone is stupid names . ffs you'd think at least one of them who invented Budgens would have been able to spell budgie properly?

I have never put jam in a bun.  I usually just do a 4,4,4,2 cake mix but put it in bun cases?

I dunno how your Budgens is so cheap Our local one is a right rip-off and they never seem to have the deals that you mention (I only drink alcohol about once a year but even so I'd probably buy the wine just for the sake of getting a bargain ). Our local petrol garage/shop thingy is much better for things like that.

I think they are a bit like Co ops and are all individually run. We just seem to have a good one.

4oz each of flour, sugar, butter and 2 eggs.  The classic cake mix.  Which also looks vaguely like a football formation, which I always find quite satisfying.  I prefer Christmas tree though.
