I'm going to be ignorant now because I don't know what hard-pushed means in this context.
*has no idea what "hard-pushed" really means either*
I mean I probably know it, but I can't explain it
Let me rephrase my question:
Isn't it hard to find unsalted crisps?

I have no idea! My husband does all the shopping and even though I put things on the list he comes back without a lot of things. When I ask him why he just mutters something about he couldn't find them or he must have missed that one.
I really would love some salt-free crisps though. I am getting hungry now.

Rank....
Some yerars ago I bought a bag of balsamic vinegar flavoured crisps. They were so tasty but I haven't seen them since. They had salt in them though.
Plain Walkers salted crisps soaked in Sarsons Malt vinegar, lush.

Seabrook and Walkers potato Heads do unsalted according to googlie and Smiths used to do the salt and shake ..... not sure if they are still available
Ugh...crisps with no flavour is like mash with no gravy!!
I can buy a multipack of crisps and a day later it's only ready salted left. Nobody eats them except me.
same here...i can't give them away so i resort to putting then in packed lunches.

When I was a child (I was a Viking in those days), we had Smiths Crisps and they had salt in blue paper that was twisted at the top - if we were really, really lucky we would get 7 or 8 twists of salt in one go - a heart attack in a bag!!!!
Tesco's cheese and onion...best crisps on the planet
I like Skips .
