Oooh, slimfern! That's one of those little jumping spiders! Funny little characters.
How cute is this?
Adorable. What looks like his mouth isn't really his mouth, though. That's under all that fur lower down, with the fangs..
I watched a domestic drama between spiders in my garden the other night. You know the nice big fat orb spiders who build those beautiful webs? The biggies are the females and if you look, you'll quite often see a smaller male hanging round at the edge of the web.
The other night, I saw this male who'd been loitering for ages start making his move, dancing up to her and waving his feelers, then patting her all over with his feet - while trying to avoid getting eaten

Did either of them get wet?Edited to add: Without someone throwing a glass of water over them.
Aww jumping spiders are so cute.Little black and white stripped mini beasts, they have great eyesight. We often get them on the walls of our house which is roughcast. If you gently put your finger in front of them and move it slowly they will track and follow it.They are tiny compared to the big old house spiders, barely a quarter inch long.

Quite right bateman. Time you took some responsibility for that spider. He's been creeping around in dark places, trying to find a purpose in his short life, and finally found you.
He does have a look of profound disappointment on his face.
