My niece is asthmatic but no word yet for her.I don't know if they will give it to her as her white blood cell count is higher than normal, two blood tests over the last month. She goes back next Monday for a third.

Probably, I don't know what I was thinking! I am supposed to get one, but everytime I think aobut it, my arm starts to hurt where I got the seasonal flu jab!
Oooh, you've changed!
My daughter is in bed with the flu.
She's ever so quiet, which is certainly a change!

You should have more energy, right? I'll watch to see if your typing speeds up! Nah, super-duper B12! I might be getting the swine flu jab though. My brother's just had the illness, poor sod.
You on them for life now Deman? My niece has still to get word about the swine flu one, she's asthmatic so is on the "at risk" list.Mind you the little bugger never goes for her seasonal flu jabs. She might not get it at the moment as her white blood count is ion the high side, she's had two tests already ,goes for a third blood test next Monday.
Yup, I will be on them for good now, katty. Hopefully one ay I'll be allowed more than the standard one every three months too - there is a patients' lobby pressing for better treatment because we're about the worst off in Europe when it comes to being helped with this thing.
I hope your niece is OK and her blood tests turn out right
Tell her she MUST go for her flu jab once she's allowed - my OH is also asthmatic and flu and asthma really don't mix!

I know Deman,I berate her about it all the time.
Well the doc called her in and explained, her white cell count can't remember the exact type there are a couple they run, hers is 30 at the moment,"Normal is about 6/7.But various infections etc cause it to rise,he did state that cancer etc usually runs in the hundreds, she did have a cold last week ,that's why they wanted to wait another fortnight for a further test.Of course she hit the internet etc.

... and scared herself silly, no doubt. It's more than likely due to what the doc says, a reaction to an infection. I've just had to have my bloods re-done too, so they can monitor how it's looking. All sorts of weird stuff go on with pernicious anaemia - I get extra BIG red blood cells that are shaped funny.
Man we go through stuff don't we,I'm bloomin' menopausal! I can literally forget after ten seconds what I was going to do etc..lol.I'm on horse sized tablets twice a day for calcium/ vit D .You chew them right enough ya don't swallow..ooeer.
You sure they're supposed to be taken orally?
Yeeuuchh...
I have some nice B-complex ones that look like suppositories and smell of socks. And some dinky little iron pills that I can't stand taking. Gimme a nice needle any time

I got a call today to go in for the swine flu jab tomorrow. I have to say, I'm nervous. Some people reckon they have been really ill after it and had a painful, swollen arm for over a week.
I wasn't going to go but hubby says "it's better to be ill for a while than dead for the rest of your life!"
I'm asthmatic and have no spleen so I suppose I'll have to go.

Good luck with your jab - however nasty it is, it won't be as bad as getting the illness itself.

Hi nanalou, had mine, and it's absolutely fine, don;t worry! Sore arm right enough after it, but that's better than the alternative!
Demantoid, happy new B12! Hope the feelgood keeps on going

Ah but at least she didn't get booed on the way in!Hope the jab helps, Demantoid, with the health problems and does something to sorting out the depression that is a side effect of low B12
