It has been mentioned and I don't know if I dare say it again but ..........................Google Chrome works for me. it's easy to install and solves a lot of probs on here. Some peeps use it just for here. I use it all the time - it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

There's nothing to lose in giving it a go is there?

You are probably on IE, like me, which they are supposedly looking into correcting.

It is annoying though.

From what I have read it seems to be easier to quote if you use google chrome.

Mozilla Firefox allows you to quote alright.
But I did get Google Chrome yesterday, just to try it out for GaGa. Quoting is OK, and it is speedy and easy.
Unfortunately Internet Explorer has caused issues on GaGa previously too.

In all honesty. Chrome doesn't work for everyone   I can't post pictures in it, but I can quote, whereas I can't in IE  I have the two browsers open at the mo

I've just downloaded it and, although I can now quote, I can't see where to bookmark the site or anything else for that matter.  Unless I'm really missing something badly, it doesn't provide the same as IE.

I'm on IE so can't quote either but I'm going to wait for the GaGa techs to sort it out

the star at the then end of the browser address bar ...  press that to bookmark something.  

I know chrome looks scarily basic & controless at first...  but its all there... the spanner next to the address bar gives you the tools & set up... and other functions such as zoom.

Simple answer- get a Quote button. Cant be rocket science, most free domain sites have them.

Crispy. we already have a quote button, but not all browsers can use it, so simply putting it elsewhere else is not necissarily going to change that.

Why is everyone getting so agitated about not  being able to quote?  It's only  been a few days since the changes to the site, and the mods are aware of the problems that some of us are having.  It's not the end of the world if we cant quote, and I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Many of us spent years complaining about the C4 mods, and now that we've got new people who treat us fairly and listen to us, I think we should be thanking them for continuing to host this forum , rather than complaining so much.

This quote button does not make sense we still have to highlight like we did before, only difference is we now have to scroll the reply post up and down the thread, it is not exactly a change for the best or am I missing something.

No matter if it worked for everyone....and no matter how quickly we might get used to the way to use it....the fact is that where it is and how it works is nonsensical and totally user unfriendly.

Because one doesn't expect to have to test run the software for the devolopers in real time.
The odd glitch is ok, but issues like certain functions not working with certain browsers is not really on. People would rather wait an extra few months for the next update and have it working for all, rather than have it trotted out for use a bit earlier when it's only 60% ready.

Marge, I am now on Google Chrome and I don't have to do that. I just highlight the bit I want to quote, open the reply box and press the " button. Much like it was before. 

I agree that a quote button under each post would be better

Me neither, just do exactly as I did before, but then click the " icon in the reply box. This new way of doing it does have it's advantages as it's easier to multiquote,  you don't have to click the cancel button as you did before.

 No, Mr Blizz swapped it with an old one he had lying around. Not sure why this one was ditched, cos it seems to work fine!

The colour scheme issues are the least of it - there have been changes to functionality here and we seem to be providing the test data - cheaper than paying ..... so in effect we're moaning for our supper

Very possibly, but if that were the case, why don't they just say so? I'm not suggesting that would cut out the grumbles completely, but it would certainly curtail them.

et voila!....you don't have to be moving the reply box around your screen

I have yum yums so I haven't given up just yet.

The FF version just requires you to open the reply box first, then highlight and click 'quote'. but if scrolling up and doen the page is making people ill, then the more cumbersome way of dragging the reply box to the post you want to quote will lessenthat as you will only need to move in one direction and it will necessitate you going slower.

Not being able to quote has actually stopped being annoying for me....

I'm using Firefox and have no desire to download Chrome or another browser just so I can use a site that I barely visit.

I think most browsers are experiencing one problem or another Suzi, i would rather stay on IE and not be able to quote than go on others and see the borders, tiles etc. I am sure it will get sorted , i hope you bear with it, wouldnt like the forum to lose you
