Nah. It's too samey, stagnant and a bit claustrophobic. There's a pervasive whiff of settled smugness running right through the place. When you see a certain FM's name, you can already  guess the type of post/comment they're going to come up with - it really is that predictable.  People are always coming back under different id's, so a genuine newbie wouldn't have a snowboarding cat in hell's chance of feeling welcome for ages. Which means there are very few people here to inject new ideas or challenges.  All this kind of stuff works great in a private FB type of place, but it shouldn't be like this on a biggish public forum.

Having said all that, there are loads of really nice people here. They're the ones who keep me lurking about and reading.  Shame about the divs stomping around as if they own the joint

I agree. I think the main problem is this part of the website isn't somewhere you'd stumble upon like C4, but I guess it's worth remembering that other parts do have a lot of US visitors. Although most new ID's I've seen have been returnees and/or previously banned members in new cloaks.

Would be nice to see some genuine new people on here, but then unless someone has an interest in Big Brother UK, I can't see someone popping in on the off chance, even though this is more like a general UK forum now as everything under the sun gets discussed nowadays. Maybe Lori would consider changing the name of the forum to something more general?

Good post though

Great idea to perhaps rebrand the place.  But I also think it's fairly safe to assume that at least some Yanks might have stumbled in here, didn't 'get' the place at all, and ran for the hills   It's become too insular, IMO. Almost as if people have plumped up the cushions, adjusted the curtains and got 'their' cyber place really comfy, familiar and 'just so'.
Anyone new is almost always suspiciously regarded with a collectively raised cyber eyebrow (which is justifiable in most cases).  On that basis, I can't really envisage anything changing much around here. That's why it seems so stagnant and blinkered sometimes.

Sorry, but I post with my own opinions and values, so yes, there will be a lot of similarity in my posts. Better that, I believe, than "invent" a new character simply to be different or devil's advocate.

Shame if I'm predictable, but that's me for you!

And so you should My point is that on a public forum like this there should be more new people injecting their own opinions and values into the place. That would bring variety and make the whole atmosphere less stultifying.

FWIW, I class you as one of the really nice people here. I always enjoy reading your posts.
