Though I forget it.
It's just a silly phase I'm going through.
Ba da dah, ba da dah, ba da dah...
Nah. It's too samey, stagnant and a bit claustrophobic. There's a pervasive whiff of settled smugness running right through the place. When you see a certain FM's name, you can already guess the type of post/comment they're going to come up with - it really is that predictable. People are always coming back under different id's, so a genuine newbie wouldn't have a snowboarding cat in hell's chance of feeling welcome for ages. Which means there are very few people here to inject new ideas or challenges. All this kind of stuff works great in a private FB type of place, but it shouldn't be like this on a biggish public forum.
Having said all that, there are loads of really nice people here. They're the ones who keep me lurking about and reading. Shame about the divs stomping around as if they own the joint
Would be nice to see some genuine new people on here, but then unless someone has an interest in Big Brother UK, I can't see someone popping in on the off chance, even though this is more like a general UK forum now as everything under the sun gets discussed nowadays. Maybe Lori would consider changing the name of the forum to something more general?
Good post though
Anyone new is almost always suspiciously regarded with a collectively raised cyber eyebrow (which is justifiable in most cases). On that basis, I can't really envisage anything changing much around here. That's why it seems so stagnant and blinkered sometimes.
Shame if I'm predictable, but that's me for you!
FWIW, I class you as one of the really nice people here. I always enjoy reading your posts.
*backs out of thread on the basis that an off-script opinion is not welcome*
I'm with you. I understand your points which are not carping but considered criticism.
No need to back out Quimper. I'm sure many of us would appreciate your "off-script" opinions.
No thanks, that's it from me. I've said my piece, based on what I've observed. It's time for someone new to post their opinion
I need fresh blood, sometimes.
TBF that applies to a great deal of what we read.
