How can he 'resign;, yet expect to be kept on for another two months or so?

What is the deputy PM for? Or do we not have one? -in which case they need to elect a caretaker.

Answer to my own question: It was everybody else's fault!

'He said he had tried to persuade colleagues it would be "eccentric" to change leader and blamed the "herd instinct" in Westminster for his exit.'

Exactly EFFT â€Ķand yes, there is a deputy â€Ķit’s Dominic Raabâ€Ķ.so why he can’t just step into the breach is beyond me â€Ķ.he had to when the PM was in hospital .

I don’t like Raab either Velvet , but he is the deputy , so you’d think he could stand in until they elect another leader â€Ķ

Is he still deputy when he was Boris’  number two, or does he go down with the ship? Heard he was asked and refused on TVâ€Ķâ€Ķso maybe he resigned too or had to leave
