Hi there Chick..good to see you
It's been a long while since I sat exams...but I do remember reading out loud into a tape recorder the stuff I needed to learn..then playing it back whilst doing other stuff...like having a bath...or eating a meal...taking a walk.
Don't know if this will help....Good Luck!
Hi Chicken, welcome back.
I absorb information better if I write it down, so I always jotted down bullet points as I went along.
Remember to take plenty of breaks, too.
Hiya Chicken
I agree with Yogi, I always remember facts easier writing them down

Join the club Chicken.. Ducky & I are tearing our hair out at our younglings... both of them about to sit A Level finals.. both of them with uni offers on the table...
and are they knuckling down & studying?
no... no they are not!!!
We'll be grey by the end of it!
my daughter starts by designing & colouring in a big elaborate and over ambitious revision timetable...
it doesn't work though... its very pretty, but she hasn't stuck to any of it
My son has started by burying his head in the sand and playing computer games instead.
Today he has decided to bring his computer downstairs, so that I can glare at him everytime he's not got his nose to the grindstone. (Saves me stomping up and downstairs, or berating him on FB ).
Have you got anyone who can glare at ya Chicken?
Or maybe a study partner? I used to study with my sister at uni, and for A levels a friend. They weren't doing the same subject as me, so we didn't study together as such, but it was just nice to have someone else in the room going through the same experience.
Good luck!
And I don't know whether it makes you feel better.... but it doesn't get any easier when you get older.
I was supposed to start making exam papers at 12..... it's now 12:17 and I'm still on here.

oh.. yeah... I have that one going on too..
apart from the ongoing game apps on her iPhone, she also decided now was the time to start playing Animal Crossing on the DS again!!!!!!
Chicken... Ducky & I can glare at you a bit too if you like... obviously our glares are not very intimidating... they don't seem to do much good!
on a more serious & maybe helpful level - I bought my daughter some index cards... she then writes out key stuff on each card. I think perhaps they are less intimidating than a full sheet of A4 paper... and she likes to look back on "how many she has done"... proudly
*bangs head on wall a little bit*
Thanks guys for the suggestions! gotta get my bum in gear do it!! how is everyone?
gotta get my bum in gear do it!!
That really is what it all boils down to Chicken
Speaking of which....this bum is getting in to gear right NOW!
Do you do that thing where you can't start work till on the hour or on the half hour? I'm the worst at that! I missed 12:00...I missed 12:30....and now I'm sat here thinking I'll start at 1:00.
But you have inspired me Chicken! I'm off to break my habit and start on an odd looking time.
Are you gonna join me?
Hi Chicken No advice for you really (I spent the nights prior to all my exams getting drunk thinking I was a smartarse, I'll never know how I passed so many of them but do always wonder if I had knuckled down how far I would have got as opposed to where I am now) but just wanted to say all the best of luck with them and just try to clear your head of distractions and find a nice quiet place to get stuck in. Start with your favourite subject and see if that draws you in then go from there.
And get off this forum!!!
I am gonna get my arse in gear & go & paint a couple of fence panels..
come on then.. tis ARSE IN GEAR TIME!!!
one.... two.... three... *slump*
ok... slight launch failure there... try again
ONE... TWO.... THREE... and awaaaaaaay
Hello Chicken Good to see you as always.
Perhaps you are worrying a tad too much.
Relaxing the anxieties a little might help.
Find someone to bribe you
Do it in batches of 20 mins or so take a 5 min break then another 20 mins.
Do you have a special technique that you use??? I used to dictate most important bits onto a dictaphone and then walk around with it memorising and speaking it at the same time or typing it onto the computer - that worked for me but won't for everyone.
Have you got a study buddy? That can be very helpful as you can both/all ask each other questions and it's good to bounce ideas off.
Flash cards only putting the most salient points on and to give you and idea about what to fill up the rest of the question with.
Can't think of any more
Hi there Chicken. Lovely to hear from you I've got nothing to add to all the good advice here....but agree with Pengy...short stints are best, and as Brisket says, try not to stress too much about it. And good luck, sure you will do just fine
Hi Chicken x I am sure you will be fine, just try not to get too stressed or your brain wont take anything in. I write things down too, i find it helps. Good luck
