Can any of you remember me telling you lot about the 17 year girl that moved into our flat a couple of months ago, and I told you about how she is dead lazy and dirty. Well I asked her for her share of the TV licence bill a couple of days ago for this months bill. The bill is in my name and comes out of my account and we split the bill, we she said to me " What again, you want it again, how many months do I have to keep paying this, I'm gonna see the landlord about this, he never said I woul have to pay towards the TV licence". When I told her she has to pay me every month, she threw a strop,WHAT EFFIN PLANET IS SHE ON!!!!! Mad

I'm only asking her for ÂĢ4 a month!, she hasn't even paid last months rent yet, our landlord is on holiday and not back till next week, but his boyfreind came round on Monday to collect the rent, I'm the only one that has paid up. She has left her dirty pots out now for 2 weeks!

Why did you choose to live with her? Do you know her or some sort? Is it for a college near by? Confused Im clueless as to why a 17 yr old would live in a flat. how can she live there without paying rent... her parents pay for it?

If she's still not doing her share of the dishes, you're seriously doing something wrong. Why don't you lobby you landlord to get her out and find somebody a bit more reasonable? Smiler

It's not our decison who lives there, it's up to the Landlord, apparently she couldn't get on with her mum, and she works in a call centre at Eon and reckons she can afford it. I've heard he's fed up with her already and may give her her marching orders.

Hug That is bliddy ridiculous. ÂĢ4 a month is bugger all and I bet she watches the TV as well. Just tell her that everyone has to pay it and if she doesn't she can pay the ÂĢ1000 fine! And 2 week old pots?!!!! Time to put them in her room I think. Sorry you're having a bad time with her but she does need to learn.

Maybe you both have a communication problem and need to have a quiet sensible talk with each other to clear the air. Nod
Good luck. Thumbs Up

No he's right it's not his responsibilty to pay the TV licence it's our. We all have TV's in our rooms, the girl is a joke!

that doesn't sound right. If the landlord has put her in there it's down to him to get the money off her ....not up to you.

Sounds rather dodgy to me ...........why should you have to put up with it? Have you checked your contract?

Well I have tv in all of my rooms but I only pay one tv license for my property.
It only costs a small amount a year really and should really be costed into your rent if you are all students renting privately.
stupidcupid
Not true, all student tenants I have ever known have to pay their own TV licence, it's rarely included into a flat. Even if you stay in halls you each have to pay a TV licence so the whole halls of residence for say 1000 students will pay ÂĢ142500.00 for it (if each student has their own tv in their own room)! It's ridiculous but thats the way it goes.

if there are 3 flats then there should be 3 tv licences not 1, unless you just have one front door and one doorbell / letterbox / number so you can pretend its just one house.

but if the landlord supplies the tv get him to remove it, if he cant, nip into her flat and remove the fuse so it wont work, tell her you'll look at it only after she has paid what she owes.

It doesnt even matter if there is just one door. If the house is registered as a multiple occupancy then each room needs its own license.

I just spoke to a lad at work and apparentley this true, so she will have to get her own licence! Big Grin

'Cept she won't as the licencing people will probably just log your licence against your address and not bother any further. Mostly they just hassle people who have just bought TVs or people whose addresses have no licence at all. It's a database thing.

You'll end up paying for your one completely and she'll pay nothing and will get away with it. Unless you shop her (and therefore your other flat mate), of course. Ninja

this is what I understood - if it's a multiple occupancy residence and if there's a tv in each room then you each have to pay a licence. However, it makes financial sense to just have one person pay for a licence and then all chip in as TV licensing won't necessarily know how many people are living there - does she not understand this is the cheapest way? Silly bint! As for the dishes - I agree with the others put them in her room and maybe she'll get the message - dirty mare.
