They'll pick Steve, the heroic one who at age 19 managed to save the entire world before getting his legs blown off.

And of course he deserves it, the poor thing has probably never worked since, and who could expect him to, it must be a measley existence with only his army pension, disability allowance, child benefit for all the kids, probably a free modified car, she maybe gets carers allowance, and the whole family will probably get council tax reduction cos they are so worthy   I would just hate to be state wealthy, scrounging a new car off the country every year. What a horrible way to live!

So of course he deserves the free ticket, and the overall prize of a 100k.

he just got unlucky and got caught in a bomb blast

A very dismissive account of what happened to him.

The reality is the bomb was remotely detonated at the moment he passed the bomb.  It was detonated with the aim of killing him.  After the bomb had detonated, the thugs proceeded to set dogs on him to bite him as he lay on the floor in agony.

He explained all this to Ben in the first week.  It's incredibly disturbing what happened to the poor guy.

Spider, that is appalling. No getting away from it. Any right thinking person would cconcur with that. HOWEVER, there are those that balk at the idea of him being considered a hero. Many think he should not have been in NI in the first place or was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm not a fan of Steve in the house but OMG there are so many times when I get a catch in my throat when I see his disabilities. Please believe me I do not mean that in a patronising way but in a humane way. Jesus, I genuinely applaud the man for getting on with a productive life after such horrendous injuries, it cannot have been easy.

He was in the army and under orders to patrol the said area that had the bomb. You follow orders when you're in the army.He deserves all his benifits,He's not scrounging pretending he can't work with a bad back etc claiming benefits then doing a job elsewhere and getting paid and not paying tax.
