I have a black Christmas tree in the bay window of the dining room, with silver and black baubles,, and I think it looks really nice.   I don't mind artificial trees if they are very obviously artificial and aren't trying to look like real ones.
That is why I am comfortable with it Growly.I have always been a little uneasy about fake green Xmas trees - this one will be obviously fake and that will be grand,
They have some half price ones in Homebase so I will go have a look this weekend.

've got a 7.5ft black christmas twee and I lurrrve it I've only got white lights and silver baubles and beads. Am thinking of making an effigy of David Cameron and firmly sticking him on the top of it this year

I can only have a little 5ft one this year but should be in my very own place next year and love big xmas trees.
It was actually OH who suggested it... and I said NOOOO at first, Then we saw some really nice ones in Next and I thought - what the heck
Don't ruin your lovely tree with Cameron though

They always look burnt to me.... ahem, sorry I like the 'traditional' colours at xmas... green tree, red, gold, bronze colour scheme.... feels more xmassy to me, suppose its cos thats how we did it at home

I have always been a traditionalist but different rule apply this year.
If I don't like it, I will go back to the green next year,

Apparently, spraying hairspray on real trees as soon as you get them helps to prevent the needles dropping off

Seems a lot of people like traditional xmassy things. I don't I won't have any other colours than black, silvers, whites and greys at Christmas in the house. I banned tinsel but have been talked round to maybe having it somewhere in the house as long as it's the right colour (not on my tree though ). My mum despairs

I've also got some blue fairy lights to go round the laptop
