I got excited just then in the garden (dead clear warm night here in the NE) and was told they were just stars

Just read on the Guardian site that you have to look NE between 2 and 4 now (different instructions everywhere you look!)

My husband wasn't impressed at first, but I swear he ducked when a fastmover went over!

I had a looka bout an hour ago (in NE) saw ONE in about 10 mins n thats below average for any night, might have a look later,

Well I'd say that was right. Are they not called Perseids because they are in the constellation of Perseus, which is North Eastish.

Oooh I've no idea! (I can't even tell the difference between them and stars, as I've just demonstrated) sounds plausible though

If I have to look NE though, it means going into the front street ...and not just the garden (which is more convenient as I'm in my dressing gown )

Black Country report - nothing, quite a heavy cloud cover here and lots of light pollution which I expect makes a great difference.

Same here on the Wirral.

The only strange thing I saw was an odd looking 'leaf' on a rock; just as I bent over to inspect it closer, the bloody thing jumped towards me . . . . sodding frog!! Nearly had a heart attack!

Ive got clear skies up here, are we getting any up in the highlands then?
