It was going a bit mental here in the early hours and the rain has been dreadful all day.

I'm having a bad hair day - again!

The forecast is for more to come; the ports are closed and we've been told to stay away from the seafront if at all possible. The lanes round here are a bit iffy too; localised flooding and trees down, although nothing looks damaged in our garden.

Don't envy any of you north of the border though; it makes down here look like a mere fresh breeze with a scattering of drizzle

Stay in, raid the fridge and bunker down in front of the telly

Between me and my neighbour we have 8 wheelie bins in the garden. The general green waste ones get emptied tomorrow, they were ok as they were full after  a fortnight. The rest were blown all over the garden, spewing out the paper and plastic and tins...and a couple of me empty cider bottles. The ones holding the glass bottles etc just keeled over.

Our recycle bin went over. Hubby spent about half an hour chasing cans all over the garden.

Yeah OK. Newcastle played a stormer of a game.

I said to Mr Cinds, even if that Man U bloke hadn't tipped it with his head, the position of goalie, from the projectile I was looking, it might have been another goalie goal.
