My view is.........it is shining brightly outside my bedroom window, with a silly smile on its face....better dim down (back off) soon.....or else....its moon wars !!!!

I went to the shop to get a better look and take pictures. Got the curtains drawn now though.

The blankets nailed up at my window aint working so far, a sheet will make a sheet of a difference I think

On topic, I didn't see the moon tonight

Had a very clear view and saw it come up over the trees and then later higher up in the night sky.  It didn't really look any bigger than normal, but I didn't really expect it to.

My view of it. Was a bit of a drive to get to a clear spot to get it to where it was just above the horizon where it might be tinted by the sunset. Totally worth it though!

I'm going to go out and look for the moon after sunset tonight. Was watching the rugby last night and forgot the time....when I looked at the moon later, it was higher in the sky but still incredibly bright!

Confess! You spent half an hour throwing a satsuma in the air to get just the right shot!

Thanks Katerina. Look up your moonrise time online... should be close to sunset time today. There's nothing more amazing than seeing it come up over the horizon. That sucker moves a lot faster than I used to think it did! (Well, uh, I know it's not technically "moving"..  um...)

Hi Slinkiwitch- and thanks! You forgot the flashlight - that was the tricky part, throwing the satsuma THEN spotlighting it with the torch, then snapping the photo!

I must be the only one who wasn't overhwhelmed.    I have seen it pretty big and bright quite often, so it didn't look especially amazing IMO.
