I like debate, even strong debate, but I hate aggressive and bitter arguments, especially if they resort to personal remarks.
**I do so wish this thread would drop off the page** - yes I know my post helps to keep it up the page, but it was already there. I wish it would slide away.
Things like that will never end Brisket. Forums in general seem to be a breeding ground for egos and each of us have one so it's inevitable that some get a bit aggresive. Especially if the ego gets dented. To others it's a game. See how many people they can upset/anger etc. Again.....part of forum life and not something that's gonna change.
I don't think it helps though that when there is a controversial thread lots of piss take threads pop up within minutes. Lots of people go into controversial threads being "funny". It all keeps it in the spotlight.

In my view there aint nothin wrong with fallen out with folk as long as you are prepared to forgive & forget....Grudge holding is not a healthy trait!

Whether most people admit it in public or not they enjoy the arguments on here and other forums. At times it's a bit like watching Eastenders. You're hooked and it's your nightly entertainment
Spykas was THE place for Sunday night entertainment. Who'd have thought a coffee cup smilie could cause so many wars? (and ello missus x)
Actually I despise the kaffuffle on here...would much rather see a bit of tittalation & giggle!
& I know that aint spelt wright!...

Depends what they've done though and what your relationship was in the first place I think. Some people I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire, but they don't clog up my brain, so it doesn't bother me on a day to day basis. It's only unhealthy if it affects how you live your life (well, to me anyway)
Wud agree!
But then I don't let anyone in ma brain without an appointment!
Ignore! ma fave word for some!
(guess being married for 27 yrs taught me more than I thought )

Spykas was the only place I've seen a Happy Birthday thread descend into a full blown row.

Ya know, I don't LIKE closing threads and deleting stuff, but when it gets personal, I have no choice.
So, I like where this thread is headed right now...can we keep it all calm and zen-like, please?

He loved it all. What other reason would there be for the stuff that was allowed to stay on there? I just wish some would be honest and admit that they enjoy the arguments. What other reason is there for them to ALWAYS get involved?
Slimfern - I don't mean you there. I've not seen you get involved. BTW it's spelt right not wright

Poo is a great conversation stopper,
Lori
Sometimes closing threads or deleting posts is worse. Nobody can refer back and anyone who was causing trouble can deny all knowledge.

And you're not intrigued by the knitted digestive system? It's magnificent. Maybe I should ask Olly to knit me a nekkid suit
