well done all those 30 plus who passed as its very hard i think past the 30 mark..well has been for me..thinking whats going on...school etc... its hard to concentrate on everything you need.  God i hate the manouvres..especially bay parking and parallell parking!

The FM who said about starting to learn now after having a nervous bad experience I would look in thompson local and see for a driving instructor who specialises in nervous people, maybe also go for automatic, as i prefer to drive that to manual, which i had 5 lessons 4 years ago and couldnt get on with biting points and clutch.

I passed second time, I am still convinced that failing the first time was to do with pass rate quotas, as I failed on two minor points the first time, and made more mistakes the second time.....

from learning to drive, theory test, safety questions under bonnet and then the other questions the examiner asks and then the actual test, from what my mates have said its sooo hard these days..and the worse thing is as my d instructor said they are constantly adding more driving test routes and they are getting harder!!!  I cant imagine ill pass 1st time atall, im not a nervous person but i lay money i will be a jelly!!

6th time. 6 instructors. 3 different towns. 240 lessons.

I passed 5th time March 1986. That was the last time I drove a car.

At the time My husband had 2 babies cars, a Jensen and a 3 litre facelift Capri, he told me I wouldn't get insured to drive either of them and I believed him. I learnt to drive when we lived in Laindon near Basildon and the only major hazard was roundabouts the size of lollypops, hundreds of them. May 1986 we moved to Romford where all the drivers are mental and I lost my bottle.

First time for me, then I went out on my own, tried to parallel park and nearly ended up in Wallis' window! Been driving for 27 years and have had several points for silly things, e.g. going 34 in a 30 and once for reading a text message. Went on one of those 'speed awareness' courses over in Preston last year and thought it was brilliant, I was expecting slapped hands and scary stuff about killing children, but it was more of an advanced driving course: half a day in the classroom then half a day out with an instructor who observed driving/bad habits then gave feedback.

I had to go through all the questions the 2nd time as the 'under the bonnet' thing had just come in...it's not so bad. If you really are stuck on a question and start to panic, all you need to say is you'd take the car straight to a garage and get it checked out That at least proves you are a responsible driver apparently  

I had to flip the bonnet and got asked about how I check my lights are working and stuff, it wasn't as bad as it sounds

I passed that test in two times!  (name that tune anyone?!    )

Best thing I ever did - at the age of 44.  Anyone procastinating or saying they're too old - just do it!  Honest to goodness - you'll love it. 

It was the one thing I wsh I had done whilst young, and have ensured that both of my children drive, because it's like having an extra qualification.

I've only had my car since August and already feel like I would give up ANYTHING to make sure I keep that car!
