*oh quoting is easy again*
i passed first time, dont know how but i did
2nd attempt, passed when I was 20 in 94', even though I'd been driving since I was 15. I was really pissed off at failing at 17, I wanted to say to the bloke 'Oi twat, do you realise how long I've been doing this?' but I couldn't
First time... but like Jaf... I have no idea how....
I totally buggered up the parallel parking... never did get the car parked... forgot to look one way at a t junction, causing an oncoming car to come to an emergency stop... span the car on my emergency stop.... and got all but one of my highway code questions wrong.
I also had L & R written on the backs of my hands!

i remember i had the worst driving lesson before the test, i was 17 when i passed and last week got my first speeding fine (well the camera went of as i passed it at about 37 in a 30) int had the letter yet but told it takes about a fortnight to come through,
I passed on my second attempt. One of the things I failed my first one on was that I failed to negotiate a roundabout correctly.
I was even sad enough to pay for a full report of my failings.

i passed on my 5th my boss paid for ALL my lessons and ALL my tests and then i found out i was pregnant and left the company

ive had 46 lessons ... no joke the instructor told me to stop wasting my money , i knew in theory what to do but had no confidence to drive
I think it was the 4th or 5th attempt, and after hundreds of lessons over a period of years. Then my dad insisted on driving me everywhere, even after I'd passed, as he was not confident in my ability, so I never did feel happy doing it. I just gave up eventually, as I developed a phobia of driving.

Was you going in or out at the time Marg

snap have had my first speeding fine in $%ÂĢ& years of driving 38 in a 30 limit but they have to notify you within 14 days and they may offer you a driver aware course which if you take on eliminates your 3 points - still ÂĢ60 and is usually a 4 hour sessionReference:
The only 'driving' I do is the 'people mad' type
thanks for the info MrsH, i will take the course if im offered it.
im learning to drive at the moment. It never was something i wanted to do, both parents dont drive, but then i decided last year i wanted to learn to drive. So been taking lessons this year.
I am very near my theory test. It is sooo hard now though, there is so much to learn, and being the other side of 35 its very hard to take it all in!! But I'm not giving up, i have come too far!!

Ha ha Ditty!....being right handed....+ all my children are too...I always taught them that the right is the one we write with & the other is the one left over!!..
Yeah... so thats how I work it out... but I do have to stop and think "which is the pen hand" .But in a navigational situation... I get all flustered and end up waving an arm around saying "that way" (even when trying to give directions over the phone!).
& Moonie... yeah, we have a friend with a yacht too.... .. yet again I default to the waving of the arm and shouting "that way" tactic!

No!! The left!!
Years ago I was having driving lessons 'cos it seemed the thing to do at the time. After a time I realised I hated driving, wasn't any good at it and didn't trust other drivers to not cause an accident so stopped the lessons.
Now I wish I'd persevered just for the independence it gives, on the other hand I still know I'd be a hopeless driver as I couldn't talk, listen to music or the radio and drive at the same time as drivers seem to do oh well at least I know I'll never cause an accident lol.

Took lessons, never took a test. I so miss being unable to drive, but hey ho, I've got my imagination instead. I've just taken poll position in F1 grand prix

First time. I was a student and couldn't afford any more lessons. It kinda focused me.
I passed first time aged 18 but drove my Dad's car. He changed his car a few weeks later and I couldn't get on with it so I don't drive now! My son has just passed on his second attempt.
Oh, and I always touch my wedding ring to work out left and right

2nd time for me. First time was a disaster, second time was near perfect.
