Just heard.... 2016 needs to f*ck right off
Amen to that Kaffs
5 days left... roll up, roll up!
It's been a shocker indeed. Does anyone know what he was suffering from?
RIP George Michael

Just said peacefully at home, but maybe there's more to it
Unexplained, but not suspicious, say police
Don't think they've said any more about it CS - just saying no suspicious circumstances Remember he had that pneumonia a while back and it was touch and go then, so I guess he wasn't in the best of health. He looked shocking when he came back from that. J
53, two years younger than me

I wonder if it was the same way as Fred

This would seem a possibility.

Either way, it's not good A massive talent gone...again
one of my favourites - the 'For the Heart' disc from Ladies and Gentlemen is fabulous imo.
Like I say Kaffs, why do these people have to go so young?
Dunno, sprouticles... it's like 2016 is just one hideous bad dream in terms of lost talent.
Unable to sleep and just found out the news.
His shared version of Don't let the sun go down on me is one of the most moving pieces of music I possess.
We were in bed very early so didn't hear until this morning, Mr Cinds is gutted GM is his all time favourite.
ECs's post on this says it was heart failure!

I saw that. Don't know how his manager can say that when his family and the police say there will be no comment and they won't know till after the post mortem.

I suppose it's heart failure that ultimately does it for us all in the end Kaffs
Why does it matter? I for one don't think he died from AIDS related illness like has been intimated.
Cinds, is it me? I certainly don't want to cause upset. I was just curious, that's all

I guess when anyone dies long before their time people will be curious.. but no less tragic whatever the reason.
They're showing one of his concerts tomorrow at 10 p.m. on BBC 1 (I think) i'm still stunned - feels like Bowie all over again.

I loved listening to "Older" as i'd drive to start night shift.
To me "Older" just seemed to be fitting for night time ... in some quiet Parisian bar. Sound odd but I would always think of some wine bar, late at night and him singing this stuff.
Jesus to a child was perhaps one of the most moving songs - about the death of his then partner.
One notes this has been updated but don't hold your breath.

They forgot to add Philthy Animal Taylor
Perhaps one of our greatest wits (and drummers)
and now they can add Liz Smith.

Yeah, just got an alert on my phone
Is it just horrendously bad luck, or is it what's meant to be?

Who wants to live forever eh?
It's so odd cos I've been reading about longevity recently.
People living to 120 - it's fascinating. Overwhelmingly female, few, if any smoked, drinking with moderation only and all had strong personalities with an easy going disposition.

To be born in the 19th century and still alive is some innings!
A friend of mine has just posted on FB that his charity, Circus Eruption which teaches circus and performance skills to children and young people with disability in Swansea {a fantastic way to build confidence and coordination} was funded by George Michael for the first few years until it got on its feet....now he has sadly passed the amazing generosity of the man can be revealed.
Hi Amythist.. seems there are lots of examples of him doing things like that - for charities and private individuals. Lovely guy.

Hi Kaffs yes it's all coming to light now...he kept it secret and that speaks volumes
The Telegraph has just published an article about George Michael's death which if wrong will deeply upset his family, friends and fans, and if right will deeply upset his family, friends and fans.
If it was an article in the more lurid papers I wouldn't post a link.
