OMG!!!!!!!! I wonder if your SIL is my SIL too.

Cheeky mare my husbands sis....................I could tell you some stories but I wont bore you.

Gawd I hope not, she's a one.. Shake Head.. but I learnt a lesson lend a bad payer some money don't expect it back they usually stop asking because they are affraid you'll ask for what they initially owe....

Absoloutely ............it's sometimes a cheaper option to lend money.

it is to a kid thats been saving for some thing

A decent parent wouldn't allow a child to lend anyone money in the first place. Sorry to be harsh.........

i will slap myself before i go to bed for letting my daughter lend money for someone to buy food for a 5 week old baby Roll Eyes YES we where wrong to do so in hind sight, but do not call me a bad parent
Sorry, but as a parent myself, I woudn't allow my kids to be in the situation of being taken advantage of.

She said that to make you feel guilty about not giving it her.
I would leave it as she will be to embarrassed to ask again for money.

i know that now, but i will help anyone if i can and i haven't got 2 pennys to rub together, but to call me a bad parent is bang out of order
Aimee
My SIL moved away quite a few years ago .........there was a bit of bad feeling as her kids had been stealing from us for years ......started off with kids things and progressed to money.

Anyway .....over the years bridges were re built. My SIL stopped over at our house as she was going to a meeting up North recently.

Surprise surprise .............she opened her purse and realised she hadn't got her cash/credit card on her and needed fifty quid (which she'd pay back as soon as she got home) seven weeks on ................not a word.

I hope that you've both learnt from it! I appreciate your heart was in the right place, but as you've found out, it was ill advised.

What a pompous prat! If a mother had nothing to give her hungry baby (which was what they were led to believe) then it was simply a humane gesture. Not ill advised at all .................disgusting that it hasn't been repaid but - who knows the circumstances.

It was a humane gesture on the part of Aimees daughter .........can't see where you're coming from to be accusing about bad parenting etc.

This is the second time I've tried to reply, so forgive me if I repeat myself.

Point taken. If it were me and a person who hadn't bothered to budget for something as important as baby milk asked me for money, the LAST thing I'd do is allow any of my kids to stump up for it. If I felt the need was genuine, I would've gone to the shop and purchased said item.

If she ever has the front to come knokcing again and pimping her baby, just blank her. Then call Social Services with your concerns about the baby not being fed properly.

i know, i won't be fooled so easily again Blush i've gave daughter the money back, incase i'm classed as a bad parent Thumbs Up

kind of agree, she has taken advantage of a neighbours good nature, so for me that would be it. But I would not have let my daughter hand over the cash. I would have told her it was a nice gesture and you were proud of her.
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities
I'd say something

My flatmate owes me ÂĢ125 and has done since just after Easter, I didn't say anything until recently though. She spun out an excuse about not having enough to pay me back yet but I know for a fact that she keeps going out shopping and drinking. It's her family that own our house so if I don't get it back soon I will just not pay my rent and tell them to ask her for it.
