There's some more in the HL thread Skylark
Those cream teas are done allllll wrong!! Every good devonshire maid knows that you put as much cream as you can fit on first and then the jam.

How do spread the jam on top of the cream?
Charli... I can't vote because everytime someone asks me that question I forget how I say it, and when I try both ways they both sound right.

No spreading needed, just use a teaspoon and dollop it on top.

Ahhhh I see. Tesco finest range do them like that. I have to rip them apart and start from scratch. The jam needs to be even or it makes me
I'm leaning towards "on"
You know it's the right choice Ducky

They are best when you do them yourself. I can eat a whole tub of clotted cream with just a few scones. I'm going to have to get some at the weekend now after this thread.... *dreams of cream teas*

Pronounced to rhyme with 'alone'. Totally wrong, I know. But who cares - I don't talk with my mouth full.

You spread the cream, thickly, and then plop a big dollop of jam on top.
