I'm the same- lived half of my adult life in Norfolk, and half in Yorkshire, so tend to alternate between the southern and northern pronunciations without any awareness of doing so and probably one comes out more than the other depending if I'm with Southerners or Northerners

My northern comes out when I am drunk, angry, over excited.. or sometimes for no apparent reason at all!

(A) Scone - rhymes with GONE
(B) Scone - rhymes wiht BONE

Our family says (A) but my son's mates think that is dead posh. I think (B) sounds MUCH posher. What do you think?

Totally agree and thats what Ive always said. A lot of people that say B tell me A to them sounds posher. That said I do not say gone like I imagine you say it as mine sounds more like garn....So the way i say Scone rhymes with bon!
