How Do I get rid of limescale from an old toilet!!

I am serious!

I have brought a very old toilet and its in mint condition apart from the limescale which is round the rim (NO!

thats aimed at cinds gypsie sec and the like!

)and for the life of me I just can not get it off...I have tried everything

any ideas coz I am desperate to get it plumbed in and working..cant wait to sit on and use it!!
