I post when and where, and with who I feel like. I do post around people I find contentious,mostly I don't post, I am a lurker as I can't be bothered with fratching and fighting.I have never reported anyone, and I don't think I have been reported. I have only once had a P.M. and that was when someone called Flossie was being nasty to me, A very kind FM told me what sort of person he is, and I replied and thanked her. That is my P.M. and report button history!

 Unfortunately, the administrators at GaGaJoyJoy just declined your request to join the community. In most cases, this is because the site is private and limits access to people the members already know.

To me, that's like saying only current members can join with alternative ID'S.Perhaps that is where the problem with other ID'S lies.

Used to lurk on C4, then when it moved i started lurking here then signed up and started posting more when i was stuck in a cave with nothing better to do.

You know what Jenstar, and this goes for Sazbomb too who agreed with you.  If you suspect someone who appears to be new is a returning member, or you're not sure if they ARE actually a newbie, then you are free to ignore them.  Don't get all pissed off and and paranoid...simply ignore them......

But it seems to me that the people who DO seem to get all antsy and uppity about 'newbies' seem to find it IMPOSSIBLE to ignore them and can't seem to stop themselves from making snarky little comments.  It could be that people are just genuinely new people, yet the treatment they get here (from a few people, not everyone; ) is disgraceful.

So as newbies - or returning members - seems to get under your skin so much - (you AND 4 or 5 others it appears,) may I respectfully suggest that you just IGNORE them.  I doubt if any of them will care.  I know I won't.    I am more than happy to never have any conversation with you again - OR Sazbomb.. it don't worry me in the slightest!     There are plenty of people here who are nice and just chat along with you about whatever the subject is  Only very few seem hostile, and the amount of hostile ones are shrinking by the day.

Dear dear me, you just can't say ANYthing to some people can you?    I was just responding to your post that's all Jenstar.....and suggesting that if 'newbies' make you SO pissed off - LIKE YOU SAID-  that you just ignore them..  Tell you what Jen, anything I say and anything I DON'T say seems to be wrong, so I tell you what... you ignore me and I shall ignore you.  I shan't respond to anything else of yours now. I was offering some friendly advice, but obviously you just want a rumble.  But I refuse to be baited so shan't answer you again.   Have a nice life.

You can't reply to some one in the way you did and not expect a response Cupcake.  If you can't take it don't dish it out.

I disagree, I think cupcakes a great person, seems fair and friendly. I just think it's because they have a differing view on life to the majority of the forum that people don't or don't want to get on with them. Easy way really is to just ignore. I like you cupcake and it's my opinion that counts around here.

Thanks for the advice Temps, but I wasn't born yesterday - it was an attack on all newbies, and as I was posting on the thread at that particular time;, it was obviously meant for me to see... and prob a couple of others too, otherwise why even SAY the things Jenstar said?  ...  but hey the person in question (Jenstar) can deny it all they like... that's cool.  But if she IS denying it was aimed at anyone inparticular, then why even post the comments she did.....   That's all I have to say on the subject.  Apart from I don't give a flying fig if 'Jenstar' has 'made up her mind about me now...'  She had already anyway.

I know, it does amaze me how some claim to not give a flying fig about someone or something and yet can't seem to stop ranting on about them and making comments.  Makes me larf it does...  It's like 'make yer mind up!'  Ya say one thing and mean another.    If something/someone bothers you that much then ignore them ffs.  Anyhoo, thats my last comment on this subject now.  For today anyway!  LOL!

Edited to say:  I am not a horrid person, just a bit shouty and ranty sometimes, but re what TEMPS said, when something provocative is put on here, like on Jenstar's post... (which was provocative no matter how many different ways she denies it is;,) I will give a response that reflects the post in question, so to be fair temps, I think you should also be calling Jen out on her post too if you're going to say anything to me.  That said, I'm not going to respond to anyone's posts anymore, when i can see that they're just there to provoke a reaction.  It is very hard though, when you can blatantly see someone is having a bit of a pop. 

Upshot is that I will usually only put a negative and 'not very nice' post in response to someone posting something 'not very nice' first......as i said though, I am doing my best to quit 'biting' when someone throws bait ... it's hard though LOL.  And i am getting particularly narked with people putting underhand snarky comments and then saying 'I never meant it that way' or 'it wasn't aimed at yooooooo!' and turning it around to it being me who is the villain.  That has happened a lot on here lately... so I think it's defo best to not bite....

It's news to me that this is now a private forum( in as many words),anyway I don't care who is or was who, times change and we all move on

If this place really is a private forum then that sucks.  This place is boring at the best of times and that's not meant to offend anyone, it's just stating fact that there isn't much to chat about what with BB not on atm and all newbies being questioned and should they actually be just wanting somewhere to chat they then have to go elsewhere or fight about every post they make.  I know some people are just here to cause trouble but some who have been banned or who are genuinely new and just want to join in must think we are very cliquey.  I'm not sure how well it is to find this place but I have seen it mentioned on DigitalSpy and I'm sure there are other forums it's been mentioned on.  We need new members and maybe I'm a bit naive to think surely everyone should be welcome on a forum - on the internet - wether we like them or not.  This place doesn't belong to anyone who posts here and sometimes it feels like it does.

Back to the OP's question......I was on C4 but rarely (if ever) posted in the BB section.  I was mainly in Off-Topic (in a Tent) and met some wonderful people there who I still see on facebook and msn and very soon in real life.  Whilst here on gaga I've made no new friendships and even though I've been here from the start sometimes feel like a bit of an outsider but this is all just forum life....I've been on forums enough to know not to take it to heart or be offended by it, it's just how it's been on here.  I love posting though and reading most of the topics and will stay here no matter what's going on and if I ever fall out with anyone here then hopefully we'd just be able to post around each other.

Ta people   I'm not on either side of the argument of this whole 'new ID' thing coz I have witnessed some nasty arguments caused by trolls but there are a few people who may have caused a bit of trouble and just want to come back and post again which should be fair enough. 

Oh and I'm not too worried about not having made 'friends' here .....I was just pointing out that this place isn't as friendly as it could be at times.  Although I have to say I've never had anyone be rude to me so I'm happy enough.

I'd like to clear something up, btw:  this is most definitely NOT a private forum, where you have to know someone to get in. We have registration moderation turned on in an attempt to keep the trolls out. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't.  The stock response that Terry received (don't think it was a friend, really ) is just that: a stock response that's part of the software.

To be crystal clear: anyone can sign up. If you pass the sniff test of not being a troll, you get in. OK?
