I would suggest waiting about 20 years before buying a TV. By that time all the really huge ones will be cheap and they will all be 3D. They will cover all your walls so you won't be watching the TV so much as actually living it as though you really were there. Imagine watching a football match and being genuinely afraid that the ball might actually hit you on the head. Now that's what I call entertainment.

28" CRT, still working reasonably well but will be relegated when Freeview HD becomes available in the area toward the end of the year.  I'll probably go for a 32" TV, as that's quite big enough for me and the room.  A bit too big really, but I won't mind that.  The CRT juts out too far into the room so a 32" when set back a bit, won't look much bigger.
