To answer OP question... as long as the dog and all the family were out and safe... that would be all that mattered.

The water tank in our loft ruptured last year... causing water to pour down all the internal walls of our house... ruining LOADS and LOADS of stuff.

Luckily we were insured... and whilst I did have a few tears and freak outs, I think its removed alot of my sentimentality towards stuff!

I would save my a-team DVDs, my letter from Dirk and my mobile, coz it has video clips from the NKOTB concert on it Red Face

Temps Little Saturday Anecdote:

When we were kids my parents sat us down to teach us what we should do in the event of a fire...so my mam was testing how much we knew first and asked me what I would do in the event of a fire...I said climb out the window on to the extension roof...I thought I was dead clever and was expecting praise...but the all shouted...WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US Eeker Laugh Ninja

It must be local to us then.
But it means a box in which you keep valuables that would need to be extricated in the event of a fire for example. We have two. If my Mum and Dad go on holiday they leave theirs with us "just in case!"

Ditty Box Naval The plain unstained wooden box (12" x 8" x 6"), part of every seaman's kit in the old days, in which he kept his personal possessions such as photographs, letters, curios, etc. Ditty boxes disappeared from the Navy when adequate kit lockers were provided in ships; prior to those days, a man's kit was permanently stowed in his kit bag, for the stowage of which back-racks were provided on the mess-decks. The word "ditty" may come from the Anglo-Saxon word "dite" meaning neat or tidy; or from the convenient size of the box for containing the ditties or pamphlets much published in the XVIII century; or because the boxes superseded bags made of "dittis", a form of cotton material. Certainly one reads of "ditty bags" in naval books of the 1700 period. Other suggested origins of the word are corruptionIs of "oddities" and "Commodity box".

Bags of material there Ms. Dirtyprettygirlthing. However I will not go there on the grounds of good taste and possible legal action.

Had not anticipated quite such drop in taste though DAB!

Well done! Laugh
