Surely, if you eat pig and lamb and cow, you would eat horse?

What's the difference? It's just a big animal.

I only eat meat about three times a year - a result of living with vegetarians, vegans and non meat eaters. I'd never willingly chose horse, the same as I'd never willingly choose pork, but I don't get why people are shocked at the thought of eating horse.

We don't breed horses here in the UK for meat,I think that's why I would struggle to eat horsemeat.

True but in a family of four at least there'd be no fighting over who got the leg. You'd need a big oven though.

I buy Tesco meat free bolognese mix and its great .

I like that too. Used to buy it when the kids were too young to know. It was a very economic alternative.

My vegetarian daughter is, well vegetarian. My husband doesn't eat meat, but eats fish and poultry. Ergo ... a non meat eater.
