I've got 15 on my 'wish list' on the kindle to pick and choose from, depending on my mood. Have I missed a great? Recommendations please

I've read none of these but intend to read some of them if I want a laff.

I would say try the Frayn for starters.
Vernon God Little - DBC Pierre.
Yup, I'll add that
what genre?
Now there's a question, I tend to go for 'Booker Prize' type stuff, but like a weepie/chick novel, and also like surprises/something different, (that's what I'm looking for). Some of my wish list: Tiny Sunbirds Far Away; Why Be Happy When You Could be Normal; The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry; The Night Circus; When God was a Rabbit; Until I Say Goodbye....Nothing too heavy or that I have to really concentrate on to 'get' 'cos i'm taking my 86 yr old aunt with me and she's a serious talker

Ooooo, well done VD, thanks x I used to be a prolific reader and last few years I haven't really read apart from hol's. The kindle has got me back into it: backlight and ability to magnify to Dick and Dora size text is marvellous!
I like a bit of escapism! So, here's a challenge: can anyone find a sci-fi type novel that I might like? Maybe I should try some Margaret Atwood? I hated her poetry but The Robber Bride is in my top 10 novels
You're not exactly selling it GJ!
Are you bloody recommending it or not!?
It's a leading question Supes.

And he's got the record to prove it.
Wot's that to do with my holiday reads like pet?
Just report him Supes.

You and he could write the most cryptic crossword to end all cryptic crosswords..or a book... the answer is 65!
Just report him Supes.
I already have Abuse of seagulls who were swooping down on us plebs eating sustainable fish n chips from the Magpie Cafe out of newspaper whilst he was hob nobbing it with his goats cheese salad and meringue based dessert served by women in little frilly aprons!
lol @ seagulling!!
and on that note I am off to bed!

Nighty night Ditts I think you like all that sci fi/fantasy stuff, please tell me one thing i can read that will 'turn me'
I'll work out that cryptic clue tomorrow!
Have you got four down yet?
Boys: in case you forget, you're supposed to be telling me about good reads that do not require too much concentration when you've got an 86 yr old aunt yapping in your ear..just saying like
Ha ha, that won't work, they're all bloody 40/50 something teachers and social workers, they'll just come up with the same list as me!
Soops... I doubt you'd like the books I read... I make no apologies, it ain't high brow. I read bubble gum for the brain books.
I've just read the Beautiful Creatures series (as in the film that was just released).. but wouldn't recommend them.. they were OK.. nothing special!
Most recent ones I have enjoyed are Rachel Vincents Blood Bound & Shadow Bound, which I did love. But they are a bit girly. (her werecat series, called the Faythe Saunders series, are also faves of mine.. if you like the idea of people that can shift into big black panther type cats)
All time fave SF books are Anne McCaffreys Dragons of Pern books (you'd have to google which one is the first one.. been a long long time since I read the early ones)... but you really have to dig dragons to get into them!
I loved Stephanie Meyers The Host (also a film, released earlier this week).. fab book! better than the Twilight Series.
And, ermmm.. well, we had a bash at a book club on here once, dunno if you were in it, but the book we read was Prey by Michael Crichton! I really really loved that book!
MrD & my bessie mate have both just enjoyed reading all the Game of Thrones books... I haven't read them... but if you like your reading a little more grown up they are supposed to be very good.
and finally...
I haven't started it yet.. but my bessie has insisted I take it & read it..
not SF...
How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. This book is still sitting on my bedside table.. I am getting nagged to read it... you could read it, & then review it for me.. save me a job
