the way I saw it.. he, quite rightly, couldn't stand her in the house, but as a puppet had to play to a script. When she started on at him when he was out i think he finally gave vent to his feelings. (not a particular fan of him either - but that's how I saw it - I'd have hated to live with with for a single day)
