far too many people are willing to be offended by just about anything - the problem is, when people really come up against offensive terms or behaviour, it's not believed to be such.

 

I think with the benefit of hindsight, Dexter would not have said what he said, and I don't believe he meant to be offensive, but he should have thought what he was saying could be taken the wrong way. 

If you have to think about every word you utter before speaking, then nobody would say anything spontaneous...it wasn't  meant in a bad way, that was obvious

totally agree - some people see a lot of mileage in being offended which means those that really do suffer abuse for racial/sexual/ whatever reason, aren't taken seriously
