far too many people are willing to be offended by just about anything - the problem is, when people really come up against offensive terms or behaviour, it's not believed to be such.
I think with the benefit of hindsight, Dexter would not have said what he said, and I don't believe he meant to be offensive, but he should have thought what he was saying could be taken the wrong way.
