We too have a "low" of around 23 tonight. Far too hot for me too, I'll have the fan on all night and I bought a special cool sheet, which I like. I have a yellow one of these.

Its odd how your temperatures are higher than us, the north is generally cooler than here.

It did reach 33 today though.

My night out was lovely thank you. Nice and cool in the theatre, and warm but not uncomfy outside, when we came out. Plenty of people outside pubs having a drink/food.

Good job the heat doesn't bother you, as those temperatures you say you are due, is very high.

I too got confused by the Bargain Loving Brits. Was looking forward to the Brit one today, then realised it was the Spanish one, so had to find the British one on catch up, as that is my fave one.

Went to the shops first thing before it got too hot. Went to Primark, it was nice and cool in there and quiet too. Then went to Costco for a few things. The only problem with going early to Costco is that they hadn't got the free food samples sorted yet! Never mind, I got a jacket potato with cheese, and that was delicous.

It is quite cool downstairs in our house now, but am not looking forward to going upstairs for bed as its sweltering tonight!

Just watched Come Dine with Me, then Corrie tonight.

Pretty warm today, in my room now it dropped to 27.8c it was 28c an hour ago, watching the darts just now, last game on now.

I went out to the garage this afternoon, wow, it reminded me of stepping off a plane in India, it was like enteringf an oven.

Cleaners didnt come as the staff etc was too hot, no problem, heart nurse came though, at first she was due at 11:30 but rang and said she had problems ao it would be 1pm, she got here about 3:30, am on another tablet, will sort that on Wednesday when i go to the cafe, barbers and pharmacy.

Have turned on the stove hood extract fan and the bathroom extract, opened more small yop windows to cool the place, not that it seems to be doing anything.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Thankfully it’s much cooler here today …with a strong breeze …although it was still quite hot in the sun this morning !I wish it would rain though …just to clear the air ! I slept ok after about 2 or 3 o’clock …once things had cooled down again . The gas man came this morning and did my annual service … he was a really nice man , and he actually replaced a part that the last lot of guys said was obsolete.   My parcel also arrived early , so once the gas guy had gone I went for a walk and posted a birthday card ….it was nice to get some fresh air after being cooped up for 3 days ! Aside from that I’ve caught up on some jobs that I put on hold because of the heat ….such as changing bedding , washed , ironed , hoovered and dusted !I had bacon chops for lunch , and now I’m done for the day .I hope you are all having a good Wednesday too.

Mollie , bit of a rubbish result with Bake Off last night ….but at least we have George to look forward to tonight .Wow , that cool blanket looks good …I might invest in one of those .I hope you’re having a good day , and I’ll see you for CDWM at 6 .Hicky , I hope your cleaners came today , but don’t blame them not working in that heat , it was horrendous here ! A lot cooler today, 24.9c in my room, took a prescription the pharmacy then got hair washed and cut and beard done, then had some grub in cafe, then got a few bits from the store, rang Puter man and he came and installed my new 24" Dell monitor for the Puter, i could do it od course but with my eyes the way they are why risk a mess up.

Checked the garden and greenhouse, all seems ok for now, the Raspberry plants/canes are growing like mad, they must be 6' high so expecting a lot of fruit not so far off as they fruit untill the frost, my beetroots are also doing very well, i planted 36 after buying a small tray for £1.75 and putting the seedlings in 9cm pots under the LED lights, the Sweetcorn has cobs on as well so thats a bonus, the apple trees are doing well also.

cleaners are coming Friday now,

I made Nachos for tea, made enough for 2 days though so will have the other half tomorrow

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   We have finally had a mornings rain , so at least the garden has had a good soaking .No walk for me today , but I have done the duvet shuffle , two loads of washing , hoovered , and dusted , so not a totally wasted day chez Baz . Next couple of days aren’t good ones for me on a personal level , so I’ve been trying to keep busy . I hope everyone else is having a good Friday , whatever you are up to.

Mollie , yes, good or bad we still enjoy our viewing .Supervet was good last night though eh . So after I got lots of washing dry, we went to the seafront and I had my fave lime stripy ice cream, MrM had strawberry striped and son had choccy striped.

The cleaners came this morning so have nice clean floors and work surfaces etc, had a 1hr vid call on Whatsapp with my lad in Cornwall, it's easy on the Puter with the webcam.

Gave the cleaner my other coffee machine as she came with her mum and was telling me she had one in her caravan but it packed up with not being used and in a hard water area she thinks that was the problem, she was going to give me her pods, i gave her the touch sensor machine so she can use her pods.

Have got F1 this weekend and darts at night so all good.

Checked all was ok in the garden, must check when the beetroot are ready as i seem to have rather a lot, picked more peas today and sat indoors, took the peas out and ate them, 88 peas, so nice straight from the plant.

There seems to be an awful lot of potato plants everywhere, considering i didnt plant any thats amazing, lots of apples and sweetcorn and i think lots of raspberries later in the year.

Hope you are both well, a lot cooler now, i was going to put my jumper on but held off.

Some light rain around today so put the auto watering back to a 15 minute period, picked 4 beetroot and cooked them, had a bread roll for tea with a small tin of ham and a tomato with sliced beetroot in vinegar, some of the beetroot are tennis ball size which is fine, if they get too big they will go woody, not sure how many are the right size, planted the 36 9cm pots but if i get 40% i will be happy.

I saw a recipe that appeared on my mobile news for a large simple loaf, it was just 500g flour, 1 tsp salt, a 7g packet of instant yeast and 350ml of warm water, some oil to oil the tin, no oil or butter in the dough, mix all ingredients, tip onto floured surface & knead for 10 mins, put in bowl to rise to double, cover with teatowel, tip onto floured surface and know air out, shape and put into oiled loaf tin, lightly flour top and slit with sharp knife if you want, let rise for 30 minutes, set oven to 200c fan and bake for 15 mins then reduce heat to 170c and bake a further 30 mins till done, test by tipping loaf out of tin and tapping bottom of loaf, it should sound hollow.

I'm going to try this recipe as it sounds good, i still have bread in the garage freezer but have loads of flour and yeast so dont even need to buy anything.

Had F1 racing today, and tomorrow, got the darts on now and tomorrow night the final is on, it's the 2022 World Matchplay.

No walk for me today , but I’ve hoovered , dusted , anti bac’d my M&S delivery , and done a load of washing . Apart from that I’ve had bacon chops for lunch , and now I’m slobbing out on the sofa watching tv .

Mollie , I hope you’ve had a weekend . I’m sorry you didn’t make Gogglebox , it was the last one too .But don’t forget it’s Million £ motor homes tonight at 8 , and I’ve got Dames credit card . Very cloudy today, had some light rain as well.

Cooler today sp put jumper on, went to the docs to get the nurse to check on my shin skin, it has the Varicose Eczema, so annoying, going to lay off the cream with the steroids in for a bit and just moisturize for now to see how it is.

Looking at a new watch, the smartwatches can have google pay on them, plus a lot of other stuff, they are computers of course, just looking through them as the is so many makes and models.

Might make a loaf tomorrow, found a new recipe, think i told you, worth a try anyway.

Got the dentist Friday, the 1st of a few i fear.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Well my day wasn’t going too badly until I got a text from my clinic telling me to make an appointment for a blood test and a week of bp readings ! Blood tests don’t bother me , but my bp went up just reading the bliddy text ! Just looking at a bp monitor sends me into a panic ! Anyway , I bit the bullet and made the appointment . I can’t find my bp monitor …I have a feeling I leant it to someone , so I’ve had to order another one ……beam me up Scotty ! Aside from that I’ve done some washing , cleaned out a cupboard , and rescued the bin ….which was emptied at the crack of dawn . I hope everyone else’s day is going better than mine .

Mollie , I hope you are having a good Tuesday . Nice result on CDWM yesterday …long may it continue .Don’t forget it’s the Bake Off final tonight .Hicky , I have had an Apple smart watch for several years now  , I love it ….in fact I am thinking of upgrading to the new one when it’s released in the autumn. I hope laying off the steroid cream helps .

That was a bummer losing your text, so easy done when you get distracted, i have ordered the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 to try it as it might save me using the mibile to pay when i am out, have also ordered a Salamander Grill, used to have one at the other house but left it, it was on the wall in the kitchen, they are fantastic, the little grill i have now is in the small dish warmer oven but not idea to grill stuff.

Didnt get round to making the loaf, hoping to do that tomorrow, didnt get up this morning till 11am, and wasnt up in the night either, shins feel good and swelling so much better, not looking forward to the dentist friday though.

I've stopped watching the Love Island, gone off it, the directors are too involved, they get people together and get them to talk about the others, i think thats all wrong just to get footage to show, it can make people very uneasy when they find out what is being said about them behind their back, some of the girls are getting very distressed by what is said and a lot of it is just for the cameras, so i am finished with it, i dont like staged drama like that.

We have an air fryer, that we bought from Costco when they were cooking samples on them. We are really pleased with it, as it is so quick and saves us heating the big oven.

Don't blame you giving up Love Island , I heard ofcom had thousands of complaints about it due to bullying, so that cant' be good viewing.

Went down seafront and had chips on bench overlooking the beach today. Very enjoyable today, as warm, but not too hot and no wind. I like to dip mine in both red sauce and mayo. Quite a few families about as its school hols now.

Going to watch Supervet tonight and hopefully the hotel lady too.

I set the new watch up and to use Google Pay you have to have a screen lock, i used a pin but later on thought maybe it would be easier by drawing a Pattern so changed it, well, it didnt originally say what a pattern should consist of so i tried using a cross, it had a 3 x 3 pin layout, it said you cant have 3 pins, 4 minimum, i tried 4, not too easy, i tried a few and it accepted one, but i wasnt sure which one, it then asked my to put the pattern in, well, i tried one, no good, tried another, but eaxh time i tried i had to wait longer to retry, after 52 trys and getting to a 4 minute delay i had a chat online with Samsung, after 2 hours of trying we couldnt reset the watch, i tried to send it back but they wouldnt take it as it was locked, so i rang a help line, and after an hour or so got the lock off and reset the watch, then reloaded the info as i had uloaded the data to the samsung vloud for safety, but before this i had bought another watch, a Motorola 360 in case this one isnt any good so i have that coming tomorrow, am at the dentist as well, my Salamanda grill came, it's in the kitchen, havent used it yet.

This watch can measure all your health stuff if you want, and it can count my steps, they are fantastic watches, not much it cant do.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Cloudy day here …but quite muggy….so I went for a walk first thing …blew a few cobwebs away .Aside from that  I’ve not done a lot today , just some washing , and a bit of tidying up ….so quite a lazy day chez Baz .I hope everyone else is enjoying their Friday .

Not a bad day, tried my Samsung watch out going to the Dentist, in there and on the way back, great, had a tooth out and a filling, i need another filling but he couldnt get at it as its behind the gum so he's going to look in 3 months when the jaw will have shrunk where the tooth came out.

The Motorola 360 watch came, not impressed, set it up but founf it awful to sort out so have given up, lost patience with it so going to reset to factory setting and get rid, not sure how mind.

Have got to be careful what i eat so i dont make the wound bleed, i had to hold some salt water in my mouth, cant rinse my mouth for a day or 2.

Just had a small piece of cod for tea, have got some saltfish for brekkie, will have 2 poached eggs, they are nice and soft, cant have toast though.

I watched the last Neighbours instead of Gogglebox and enjoyed it. Gosh so many from that show did well. Their casting director certainly had an eye for talent. I used to watch it years ago, but haven't for a long time, but did want to see the last show and the show showing how well ex actors from it have done.

Poor you, not nice having a tooth out, and especially as it means you can't eat what you want after, and having to pay for it too is not fun! Hope it heals ok and you can eat your fave foods again soon. But as you say, you need to take it easy for awhile so you don't aggrevate it.

Gosh, setting up that watch was very time conusming!  But sounds like you are pleased with it now.

Afternoon Darnies It was raining first thing , but it brightened up mid morning , so I went for a short walk before lunch cos I needed some fresh air . I’ve washed , fed wildlife , done some more in the back garden (cos it’s garden bin this week ) , and anti bac’d the M&S delivery . My tooth hasnt given me a problem, so far, am slowly getting back to eating as normal, will keep off shaep or tough chewy food for a couple of weeks.

No.#5 son is calling in tomorrow with his lad, off school of course, but he can only stay an hour i think, have booked a Premier inn and an easyjet flight to Cornwall for the 19th, coming back 22nd, just a weekend break really, my lad is going to pick me up etc,

Did 2 walks around the culdesac today, done 1947 steps today, 1.43km, bpm 64, blood oxy 92%, it seems the app doesnt do BP or ECG on a non Samsung watch, i found an app that seems to but i would have to enrole/sign in.

Its so good when i can read a message feom my lads and dictate a reply which the watch sends them, crazy isnt it, it tells me the weather, news anything i want, it can call numbers in my contacy list thats on the phone.

I went to the cafe Sunday, got some shopping, have ordered my next fish / meat delivery, a bit extravagant really, but who cares.

Have ordered  plaice, smoked haddoc, sea bass, lemon sole, monkfish, mussels, wild boar steaks, whole oz tonguw, whole oz heart, whole beef fillet, pork chops, dressed lobsters, kippers, chorizo, potted shrimps, that will do for now, most are in multiples of 4, some 10, for Friday.

I'm not sending the Moto 360 watch back, dont see how i can, they wont be able to resell it now, i did reset it back to as new but what can i tell them as the reason i'm sending it back, it was only £160 or so, not expensive, and if i didnt like it then i cant expect someone else to, and i wouldnt sell it as i give stuff away, i dont sell it.

Loving the new Salamanda Grill, just what i wanted, did cheese on toast and did bacon on it for a BLT for tea.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It rained for most of this morning ….so no walk today . Well that’s my excuse , and I’m sticking to it . So I’ve spent the day changing the sheets , washing , ironing , and hoovering .I had some nice M&S pork steaks for lunch , and that’s me done for the day .I hope everyone else is having a nice Tuesday .

My lad popped over today as he was in Manchester for a scan on his knee, he is seeing some improvement, My lad and family abroard are Now in Panama.

My lad was trying to get the white plastic covering off the stainless steel top and sides of the Salamanda grill, i thought it was an enamel surface, oh dear, there was nothing in the instruction, in fact there was a piece of paper that said vertually nothing,so i have been using it with the plastic on, which made it pretty hard to get off, oh dear.wouldnt you think the plastic would have a marking on it, then i would have known it was supposed to come off.

Only done 1675 steps today, but at least it's something.

I too am trying to build up my walking but without making the pain bad in my knee. As long as I have somewhere to sit when it starts hurting for a little while, I can carry on, then get a few more steps in.

Only had a walk around the block, managed in all 1589 steps, grilled a piece of Turbot using the grill, it was fine.

Have ordered a backpack for my journey so i dont have to use the small case on wheels, have ordered a raincoat thingi, kargool lightweight, just in case we get caught out with a shower.

My No. #5 Son joins National Grid in September as a Project Manager, thats a big American company, wow, what a job.

I rang the fish delivery people as they also get me meat from the butcher next door, getting 1kg of unsmoked thick back and 1/2kg of smoked, a whole ox tongue and a whole ox heart, 1kg of pork ribs.

It will take me  a while to organise and freeze, will freeze over a few days i think.

Strange how my lads knee seems to be giving less trouble now, the scans yesterday will tell them a lot.

Afternoon Meanies Looks like another bliddy heatwave arriving next week !That being said , it’s sunny and pleasant today , so I went for a walk first thing , I’ve done the duvet shuffle , two loads of washing , cleaned the kitchen , and antibacd the shopping delivery . Not a bad day, my fish / meat delivery came, have put some in garage freezer, put more in tomorrow, kept some in fridge for tonight, have got 1.3kg of fillet steak to cut up them wrap and bag to freeze, also 1+1/2kg of back bacon to pack, got loads of stuff, had a Lobster for tea with some potted shrimps.

Went around the block, only done 1780 steps, have set the target to 2,000 for now

Had pics and video's from my lad in Panama. wow, he's on a beach, out of this world, had no idea such places even existed, i suppose most people could never live there as i doubt if theres much work, no idea really mind.

It's interestring what i have seen about BB next year, saw an advert, woudnt that be great.

I see next Wed / Thusday are warmer @ 25 / 26c nice really for me.

I see your meat/fish delivery has kept you busy. You certainly will have plenty of choice of what to eat now.

You are doing well gradually building up your steps. I too am trying to gradually increase my knee exercises and walking too.

That's nice you are getting messages from your son in Panama. I know little about that place, other than it has a canal.

Oh yes, forgot to mention, how lovely it is we are to get back BB. Hope they do it well.

It looks like a warm week to come here too, up to about 31c, have decided to try and not moan too much about it being too hot, as we have precious little left of summer now, and hopefully it will not be as extemely hot overnight as it was last time. I intend to go outdoors as much as I can now, but if it is that hot, will go out early and stick to the shade, until it cools down.

Did lots of washing today, as it was perfect weather to dry it all. Then sat in garden and read my book, magazine, and did my sudoku puzzle book. Perfect weather as sunny, but not too hot in the breeze. Also went to Asda for a bit of shopping. Son likes their pizzas that they make up in store for you, as you can choose base, sauce topping and 4 different toppings. So we had pizzas for tea and I made a lemon cheesecake for afters. (MrM helps me as some things difficult with arthritis in my thumbs). Has some of it with strawberries after tea.

Watching top 30 of Les Dawson now. Quite funny.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Sunny here today , but not too hot , as yet! I didn’t have a bad night, so I went for a 3k walk first thing . …and I was rewarded by seeing a very cute Cyril . Apart from that I’ve done some washing , cleaned kitchen , emptied the bins , fed the wildlife , and I’m now waiting for a garden chair I ordered to be delivered .I hope every one else is enjoying the weather and having a nice Sunday .

Mollie , yes, it’s expected to reach the 30s here by the end of the week ….and don’t worry , I’ll moan enough for the both of us .Seriously, I don’t mind as long as it’s cool at night . I hope you left me some of that lemon cheesecake , or else I’m going to get you banned from the champagne bar this week !By the way , don’t forget it’s Posh Motorhomes at 8 tonight . Hicky , it sounds like your son is having a whale of a time .Well done with your step count ….you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can get your step count up by doing just a  few more steps each day .

I didn't go out over the weekend (other than quick visit to Asda), as quite busy with holidaymakers on the roads and enjoyed the nice weather whilst sitting in the sun.

But went to Primark and Costco today. Went early morning as it gets busy in school hols. Had lots of nice food samples whilst walking round Costco and got jacket potato to take home for tea. Had nice soft ice cream cone covered in strawberry sauce to eat on way home.

Felt quite hot today, think it was about 27c. and getting hotter as week goes on.

I did enjoy the weather over the weekend, but didnt' stay out long in the sun today as it got too hot.

There is far too much cheesecake for just me and MrM , so wish I could share it with you.

Let's hope it cools down a bit more tonight, else it is going to be too hot to sleep.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I slept well , and have had a really good day , so far .I went to the docs for my blood test and I was really impressed with the way they handled things ….masks are still compulsory .👍🏻👍🏻They are also going to do my hypertension review over the phone next week ….so that will save me £20 in taxi fares .In addition to that , I finally bit the bullet and ventured into the supermarket at the top of my road ….so I feel very brave. It’s actually quite nice, and the cashier was masked (as was I ) so I felt reasonably safe . Anyway , trust me , both trips took all my nous ….so I’m very, very pleased that I managed to overcome my anxiety for once .I hope everyone else is having an equally good Tuesday .

Mollie , I hope your feet feel a bit better today . My son is coming up at the weekend , which will be lovely , but my daughter is apparently working …He couldn’t get up here for my actual. birthday because of work , but I told him not to worry . I hope the CDWM contestants are a bit better today .Hicky , I hope you are ok and are managing to up your step count .

glad to hear your blood test went ok and they can do hypertension without going into to see them. At least that saves you a bit of money. Well done tacking your anxiety and managing to get into the supermarket.

My feet are better now thanks, took a couple of days though, but I am learning how to pace myself after those 2 physio courses.

Very hot here, like the rest of the country. Looks like it is going to be a hot right up to the weekend.

Went for brekkie yesterday with my friend and her grandson. Very enjoyable. We go to Harvester.

Then they came into our garden, whilst the little one played with a mini lawnmower that blows bubbles, that we got him. They left by 12.30,as  it was too hot to stay outdoors.

Think I will sit out now in the garden for awhile before it gets too hot.

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Am doing ok with the steps, trying to do 2250 a day, but that means 2 trips around the culdesac, it also helps my joints as it keeps them all moving.

Had the usual Sunday brekkie at the cafe, got my usual stuff, saw a tub of potato salad in the fridge by the right hand door, opened the left one to get a tub, but on having it in front of me on my tray, i opened it and took a forkfull, oh dear, it was cheese coleslaw, so disappointed i binned it.

Monday had the Podiatrist here, also the cleaners came, got them to sort out a lower cupboard in the kitchen, it had loads of bottles of champayne etc and glasses etc, they put it all in the garage in plastic containers,

Made some rolls, the first lot didnt rise, think too dry the dough, i kneaded by hand, bad idea, made another but the mixer packed up half way through and the dough was very moist, made 6 rolls but this time they didnt rise they just spread into a block, of dear, and the clingfilm stuck to the dough, disaster again, good job i have loads of flour, the bread is eatable, but i need to try again soon.

Went to Docs today to see Nurse, it was for my calf skin, its coming on ok, just need to moisturise now.

Enjoying the new Salamanda grill, plenty of heat anyway, it does bacon so good.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Roll on Monday ! It’s boiling here now ….but I did manage to get a short walk first thing this morning ….luckily most of the walk was in the shade ! Aside from that I’ve not really done much , just some washing , watered the plants, and anti bac’d the Sainsbury delivery. The rest of the time has been spent trying to keep cool! I hope everyone else is having a nice Thursday ,

Just had fish and chips i made, thin sliced a cod portion and quick fried it.

Only did 1 walk as its pretty hot today, got 1212 ateps today so far, not so good, might go for another walk as its cooler again now, not a lot mind.

Watching recordings when not much on tv, F1 etc on summer break like most people, still adding bits to my list to take to Cornwall next Friday.

don't blame you not planning to do a lot in this weather. Gosh you did really well managing to go for your walk in this heat! I have passed on going walking for now, although I did push the shopping trolley round Lidl today.

Yes I am sure you would find a bubble mower fun. We only went out 1st thing that day, whilst the shade was in the garden, and not for long, but since that day, its been too hot to go out at all.

Gosh you are doing really well getting up to 7k steps walking a day.

Since my knee was bad, if I do 5k a day for the whole day  (including round the house), that is a lot for me. I used to do 8k, but that is too much for me now.

I nearly got up to come and sleep in the chair in the lounge last night at 2am, as it was so hot upstairs, think I might stay downstairs tonight, now as it is due to stay in the 20's overnight.

They say there is a drought, but its still quite green here and doesn't look any drier than any other warm summer. So its obviously not all over the UK. (yet anyway).

Went for brekkie as soon as cafe opened this morning before it got even hotter. Enjoyed it. So much nicer when the food is made for you.

Are you hoping to go to cafe again this weekend Hicky?
