Evening Mollie & BAZ. 🙂

Been at the hospital today for a procedure, a follow-up to the CT scan i had last month, they removed a benign Polyp from the lower bowel, i watched the op on a 32" screen live, interesting.
Mrs H pretty weak and bed bound now, i can make whatever food and drink she needs, carers come twice a day and will come whenever she asks them.
I did a shop online from my usual fishmonger, so we have lots of nice stuff in.
Not a lot to report, just keeping Mrs H warm and comfortable, not much can be done, it's just a downhill slide, so sad, it's hard watching anyone fade and to make it worse there have been 12 people die within 4 doors each way since we moved in, how bad is that?

If you pay  the credit card off each month just look in the bank app on your mobile for pay credit card and there is a pay by direct debit, there should be an option to pay the total each month when it is due, so you can never forget, i will do that next month, Mrs H has done that for years with her bank.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It’s cold but sunny here ….so I went for a short walk this morning ….it was very *bracing* .Apart from that I’ve not done much except some washing , cleaned the kitchen , rescued the bins , and fed the wildlife . I had a nice pork chop for lunch , and that’s me done for the day .I hope your day is going well , whatever you are up to.

Mollie , hope your day is going well , and hopefully see you for Bake Off tonight .Hicky , I’m really glad it was a benign polypBut sorry Mrs H is failing , I know from personal experience how hard it is to watch….but you are doing everything you can Hicky .

Glad you got a bit of sun today so was able to get out for a walk today. No sun here today, but it was dry and yesterday it was sunny all day, so we went to seafront and I ate a lemon sorbet ice cream on the seafront. Lots of people around enjoying the sun. We had so little of it last month.

So pleased you suggested Juniour Bake Off, as it is so good. Some on it are just such cute kids, and they do so well.

I didn't watch Winterwatch, as I realised I always watch the dog programme on C4 on Tuesdays. But hope you enjoyed it.

so sorry to hear MrsH is bed bound now, it is so hard on you trying to help her whilst watching her fade. But I know you are doing the best you can, and I am sure she appreciates it. 

I am glad yesterday's procedure went well for you. I am sure you must have felt very tired today and yesterday though. It does take it out of you all the prep beforehand and then going for the procedure itself.

I bet you will enjoy your food from the fishmonger when you start on it.

Went to Costco today to get a bit of shopping and bought a jacket potato and cheese for tea. Ate an ice cream with caramel sauce on they way home. Delcious.

Then went a walk and fed all 4 horses half an apple each.

Tv time now, am watching a drama on bbc 1, part 3 of 4.

Lovely sun here all day, had 3 carers and a MacMillan during the day, Mrs H ate well, for Lunch i made deep-fried Cod pieces in Tempura batter thwn some homemade chips, she ate what i gave her, it was so good.

No. #3 son called in for an hour to see how we were doing.

I feel so very relieved now the procedure has been done, the Polyp has been sent to the lab, but it always is, the bowel seemed fine to me and the consultants seemed to think it all looked good.

No.#5 son is coming Saturday as his Mrs has a photoshoot in Manchester.

I have set up the NatWest app on my mobile to pay the credit card bill off every month when due by direct debit, which i set up while in the app, so that's sorted.

My mobile is playing up, sometimes i can't get the screen on, the mobile is still active, but screen blank, i have ordered a replacement battery, not a Samsung one though, a higher capacity t try, if that fails i will get a refurb one say an S9, mine is a Galaxy S5, or i might get an iPhone.

I find it so hard watching Mrs H deteriorate, she has seen it all before, i never have, she was telling me what happens next, i suppose all the carers etc have seen it over and over, to know she can't ever get better is the hardest thing, what am i going to do when she's gone, i have no idea, if i had 20/20 vision it would be easier, i am trying to live with bad eyesight best i can, and at the mo i can manage, if things go worse i am in big trouble.

Afternoon Darnies Sunny , but very cold here today . I slept well again last night , but I didn’t go for a walk today because I had to wait in for three deliveries ….one for me , and two for the wildlife . So I’ve spent the day sorting out my weekly M&S delivery , feeding the wildlife , doing a load of washing , cleaning the bathroom, dusting , and hoovering . I know how to live it up . But I did have some nice pork steaks for lunch , and now I’m cuddled up on the sofa watching tv .I hope you are all having a good Thursday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , hope your day is going well , and glad you are enjoying Junior Bake Off ..,.,but you missed some fab houses on the posh programme. last night ….we really caned Dames credit card ….and  have bought one by the sea in Bognor, a London penthouse , and an estate in Bermuda.See you for JBO , and the Apprentice tonight .Hicky , I really feel for what you are going through ….but my advice is not to try to look to far forward , try to take it one day at a time . I know you are worried about the future , but I know from experience , all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other .

I am so sorry things are so stressful for you now and worrying, as to the future. As Baz says, all you can do is take one day at a time right now. You are doing a grand job the way you are helping look after MrsH right now.

I am glad at least you have that hospital procedure out of the way now.

Thats nice no3 son came to visit and handy one of your other sons are in the area, so he too can visit this weekend.

Hope you can sort out he mobile phone problem and your eyesight stays stable.

I am having a big problem with one of my knees. It was a bit worse than normal Wednesday night.

Then yesterday I went with my friend and toddler grandson for lunch, which was very nice as we had Toby with our 50% voucher off, so it was just over £4 each for a giant plate of veg and Yorkshire pudding. Very nice. Then when I got home my knee was aching and instead of resting it, it was so sunny, I went a walk with son and MrM. However on the way back, my knee just gave way and was extremely painfull. MrM had to go home and get the car to pick me up. I have only been able to sit all day with my leg up today and family have bought my food to me.  It is a bit better than last night though, so hope it eases.

I have just had my first bill since we had to be moved with our gas/electric. I am gobsmacked at the cost!!! We just paid £130 direct debit, and had £55 credit transferred from the bankrupt supplier we moved from and still owe £374 for 6 weeks.   How are people supposed to afford this sort of money? I have given up using the tumble drier, only have the heating on low. Its so hard to cut back any more with a family.

Will have to cut back on the non essentials on the food now. Hardly buy clothes.

Tv time for me now, I will watch the Apprentice, have enjoyed it so far this series. What a useless lot they are!

One of Mrs H's Brothers and Mrs got the shopping for us again and delivered it i can send the shopping list via WhatsApp to her mobile, so pleased, so got more lovely food, then another brother came to visit, had a carer 3 times, and Amazon, my new battery came so trying that.

Had a ham salad batch, mini ope party pies, a strawberry and cream tart, got some pork rind to make crackling tomorrow, yummy.

No.#5 Son and wife coming tomorrow as she is at a photoshoot in Manchester, said they could stay an hour, thy will drive through the night.

Sorry to hear about your knee Mollie, that's a blow, do you need a replacement? That's a big deal, you require a lot of recovery time with that as well, not sure what the waiting list is though.

Yes, the energy bills are going to be horrific this year and i am using more than ever, with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher and cooking all electric, good job the heating is gas.

I need to win the lottery, only do the postcode one, though.

BAZ, the animals from miles away are going to head to your garden, it doesn't take long for those from miles away to catch on.

Got to go and load the dishwasher, did a wash with the bedding that the carer took off Mrs H's bed and dried it.

Glad to hear MrsH's brother managed to sort your shopping out, and that you are enjoying your food again. How many brothers and sisters does MrsH have? I know you have mentioned a few now.

Hope your new battery does the job now.

You are so busy now with cooking, washing, dishwasher duties to do on your own. But you are doing a good job taking care of MrsH. Do you get a lot of different carers, or do you get to know individual ones? My mum had quite a few different ones, but I got to know quite a few of them in the end.

Yes, god job the heating is gas, as it is the electric with us too that is the most expensive. I think this whole thing is most tough on pensioners who are home all day, so see the most increase in energy costs.  Then added to this burder, this awful government have chosen now to get rid of the triple lock on pensions, so pensioners face a double whammy. So unfair. About time the elite paid their fair share of tax instead of going offshore.

You are probably right, word could get round amongst the wildlife that the house of Baz is the place to go for an A1 feast.

Knee still sore, so am stuck at home. It has not been right for some time, but don't understand why it suddenly went worse like this. Will do the special exercises and rest it, and hope for the best, as resting it has helped ease it.

Dry here again, but cloudy and cold. Can't complain as it is only January, so that's better than the rain.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I hope everyone is having a nice Saturday . I had an indifferent night , but did manage a 3k walk this morning , so it’s not all bad . Apart from that I’ve done some washing , a bit of tidying up , anti bac’d my M&S delivery , and fed the wildlife .I had a couple of lamb chops for lunch , and now I’m snuggled up in my cuddle chair watching rubbish tv .

Mollie , we’ve spoken about the bills etc  , but I hope your knee is a bit better today . George was good last night , eh ….and we’ve got Gabriel and Lola to look forward too next week….I predict chaos .Hicky , I’m glad you are getting some help ….and hope you are having a nice time with number 5 son today . Yes , I’m sure the Cyrils are coming from far and wide .

Been another busy day, rang 111 last night for advice about a rash / blisters on my calf, both, my SIL #5 seemed to think it was Cellulitis so i wanted some advice, they said they would ring within 2 hours, 2 hours later they rang to say a doctor will ring within 2 or 3 hours., got a call at 03.45 but didn't get it as i might have pressed the wrong button as the handset was on the bedside table, a Doctor rang at 9am to say he should be with me within 6 hours, he said it's just a skin problem, not sure if its infected but would get me antibiotics as its very swollen, within an hour they were delivered, 4 a day for a week.

My lad took me to the fish shop in New Brighton as the Parkgate one was due to shut, ate the lot, fish and chips, wow, so nice.

Tonight, had Salt fish and poached eggs, Mrs H had slices of apple and ice cream, salt n vinegar crisps as well (earlier)

Mrs H has 2 sisters, one died of cancer and the other one has cancer now, she has 3 brothers, 2 live pretty close and pop in.

Mrs H has 3 carers a day, hard to tell who they are with masks on, she also has district nurses once a week and MacMillan nurses, she stopped the hospice nurses as they come for 3 hours a time, that's too much for her.

The battery is ok so far, anyway.

Did my washing today and got that dried.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Terrible night for me …..but I did manage a walk this morning ….plus Cyril is back , so that brightened my day .Apart from that , I’ve not done a lot ….just some washing , fed the wildlife , a bit of tidying up , and put the bin out ready  for collection . I also text my cooker guy …he had forgotten ….so he’s coming tomorrow morning .I hope everyone else is having a good Monday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , hope your day is going well ….that your knee is a bit better , and hopefully see you for JBO at 5 o’clock . What a marathon last night , but good fun , eh .Hicky , glad you enjoyed the fish and chips ….and that it didn’t turn out to be cellulitis ….and hopefully the antibiotics will clear up the skin rash quickly .

Not a lot to report, had then usual carers, district nurse, cleaners came, been taking my antibiotics, 4 a day, every 6 hours so 3-9-3-9 round the clock, works ok.

Mrs H eating less and less, she didnt want the ham salad batch she got made, didnt want the breakfast, just had the milk, didnt eat her tea which was half a batch, but ate the ham.

That was stressful for you trying to sort the doc out with the rash. Hope the antibiotics clear it up well. How long have they put you on them for?

Sorry to hear MrsH's appetite is not good now. I know you do your best to try and offer her all you can. MrsH was from a large family. Its good 2 of her brothers live close by, so can pop in to see her now and again.

Glad you got to New Brighton and enjoyed your fish and chips. You needed a little treat out right now.

Still having to rest my knee, so haven't been able to go out. Son and MrM went to Lidl to do the shopping. Knee is improved,  but can't walk far without the pain starting, so need to carry on resting. Have ordered a book with knee strengthening exercises to see if that helps.

Dry again today, but cloudy.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Very cold today , but I slept better last night ,so, once the cooker guy had been , I went for a walk . Cooker guy is coming back on Friday to sort things out because he had to order some parts , so that’s good . Aside from I’ve not really done a lot ….just cleaned kitchen ,washed , and fed Cyril and the birds .I hope everyone else is having a nice relaxing Tuesday .

Mollie , I hope you are having a good day , and that  the knee strengthening exercises work ….whatever , they can’t hurt . Shame little Gabriel went last night , but at least we still have Lola and Quique. I hope one of the plastics goes in the Apprentice this week Hicky , my husband was the same ….he never ate hardly anything at all in the last week or so ….although he did say he fancied a MacDonalds at one point  …however when we got it he only had a couple of mouthfuls , but as Mollie says , you are doing everything you can .

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I had a dreadful night ….only about 2 hours sleep in total ….and it’s Mr Bs birthday today ….so a low day all round .It rained first thing , but  I did manage to go for a three and a half k walk this morning …which helped a bit . Aside from that , I’ve washed the duvet , (but still have the shuffle to do . ) , cleaned the kitchen , and fed the wildlife . Still no sign of Cyril ….either in the garden , or on my walk .I hope everyone else’s day is better than mine .

Mollie , yes, it’s good that the youngsters have made it through …they are such little darlings  …unlike the two older kids ! I’m sorry your knee is still giving you gyp .Hicky , I hope your rash is clearing up the rash …without too many side effects .

hope you have a better night tonight, as indifferent is not that good.

I did hear it was very windy up north today, luckily we got a sunny day, so I sat outside and let the warmth soak up through my black leggings, to warm my poor knee. So that was nice to see a bit of sun for a change. Did my sudoku puzzle.

Have you tried the Wordle yet? I have and am enjoying it. I do it on my lappy, as don't do much on my phone.

I reckon your Cyril had gone into hiding away from the cold weather with all his food you have given him.

I too really enjoyed JBO and George, plus Pottery tonight. Was not too impressed with DOI though, it was on for such a long time, with just a couple of decent skates. But enjoyed the forum company for all of the shows.

Knee still swollen and sore, but not as bad as it was, so I will press on with the strengthening exercises. The worst time is the middle of the night when I can't get comfy because of it, seems I can only lie on my back at the moment. Am just hoping to continues to improve.

Sending a big to Hicky, I know how busy he is with all his house jobs and sorting food for MrsH. Will whatsap him later.

I saw that new Jamie Oliver show advertised, I know you enjoy cooking shows, so thought you might enjoy it.

I am watching Corrie, Breaking Dad (which is funny), they are in Poland tonight, then a new thriller on C5 with Sheriden Smith.

My knee still improving gradually and I am persisting with the strengthening exercises, but its in bed that it drives me nuts, as I can only lie on my back. If I try to lie on either side, my knee hurts. So not getting much sleep.

Managed to sit out in the garden for about half hour today when the sun came out, so not bad for January, but it was cooler than yesterday as it was windy, so I came in again, as soon as the sun went in.

Sending hugs to Hicky, thinking of you and MrsH , will whatsap you when I am lying in bed resting my bad knee.

Nurse Practitioner came, she thinks my skin condition is Eczema and has prescribed various treatments and a cream, so it seems it's not one of the serious ailments, glad about that. probably get the prescription delivered tomorrow, hope so.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Not a bad night for me , and my Cyril is back …plus I saw another one on my walk , so a good day chez Baz .Apart from that I’ve done a load of washing , cleaned the bathroom , anti bac’d the Sainsbury delivery , and had some nice lamb chops for lunch .I hope you are all having a good Wednesday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , I hope you’re having a good day …..how is your knee doing now  ?Has your son applied for any more jobs ? It’s nice for me to share FIAB as well…it’s good fun. I too slept better last night, I did try some ibuprofen cream on my knee before bed, so maybe that helped. Will try it again tonight and hope for the best.

Been a nice day here today not much sun, but dry and mild. Yes son has lots of job apps going through and the Uni are helping him in his search, so fingers crossed it wont' be too long.

I had bacon on toast for brekkie, 2pm opened a container of lobster meat but not impressed, for tea had a Korwan Kimchi noodles soup and a cake.

Mrs H had a half Weetabix for brekkie then nothing, she doesn't want anything to eat, the usual carers came, also the district nurse, she has a sore on her backside so carer rang the nurse, i gave the nurse a pack of special dressings that i buy from Amazon, they are a miracle dressing as i've never known them fail, you put the dressing on the wound or post operation area or bed related sore, i always say leave on for a week if you can, only change if it comes of, the nurse put a 7.5cm square one on Mrs H, you can buy 10cm square ones, it can be cut to any size or shape, it doesn't have a central pad, the whole of it is the same, you are supposed to leave 2.5cm all round from the would.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Mostly sunny here today , but we’ve had some very heavy showers too . I didn’t have a great night , but I went for a walk first thing …blew a few cobwebs away .My Cyril was very busy this morning , he’s back in *burying* mode .Aside from that , I have dusted , changed the sheet and duvet cover , but I’m still waiting for the cover to dry , so not done the shuffle yet…oh joy  ! I had some nice lamb chops for lunch , and that’s me done for today . I hope everyone else is having a nice Friday .

I enjoyed 4 In A bed with you all week. Do you know if its on next week? Hope so.

I too actually got out today after being stuck in with this awful knee pain for 2 weeks. Went to Designer Outlet, MrM got me coffee and cheese/onion pasty, so we ate our Gregs snacks on the bench outside. The wind was freezing though. I then sat in the car whilst son and MrM popped into Sainsburys. So the exercises and ointment do seem to have helped, its a slow job though. I expect it won't improve much as I know this arthritis is progressive, but I'll try as I go along to do what I can.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Not a great night for me , I’m afraid ! I would have liked to have gone for a walk , but I had to wait in for a delivery ….which in the end they just push through the letterbox a short while ago ! So , I’ve waited in all morning for nothing ! In consequence I’ve spent the morning doing boring housework ! I hope everyone else is having a better day than me ! Anyway , I did manage a very short walk this afternoon  , so not a totally wasted day .

Mollie , I loved our 3 hours viewing last night . Only drawback was losing yummy Nick .I hope your Monday is going well , but sorry you think the arthritis will get worse .Hicky , I hope you and Mrs H are managing to get some rest , and that Mrs H bedsore is a bit better .

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Another mediocre night for me, but I’ve been for a short walk, hoovered , anti bac’d the shopping , and done some washing …so not a totally wasted day . I hope everyone else is having a good day . My son is in the area for business tomorrow so is popping in to see me ….first time I will have seen him since the pandemic started ….I’m hoping the weather is ok so we can sit in the garden ….I can’t say I’m not nervous about it , but it will be lovely to see him .

I am so enjoying our 4 In a Bed viewing, and our long Sunday night ones too.

Looks like a good weather forecast tomorrow, which will be nice for your son's visit, but looks like it will be a bit cold to sit in the garden. I only sit out now if it is really sunny and sheltered from the wind, so at the moment if I am meeting friends, we prefer to go out for coffee/food.

On Monday, me, son, MrM met my disabled friend and we had brekkie in a lovely little local cafe. Then MrM helped her fix her light and wardrobe door. I can't walk far with my bad knee, so MrM dropped me off at the door, so that was ok.

Hope your son does manage to fit a visit inbetween work committments, as it has been so long since you have seen him.

Didn't go out today, but not a bad day weather wise.

HOpe Hicky is not too exhausted today, he has been so busy with house jobs and helping MrsH and letting carers in and out.

Me and HIcky are enjoying Oz BB. Very well thought out, clever competitive tasks. There has been Trump talk as one woman worked for him for 17 years, and Megan Markle talk as her brother is in it.  So its interesting as wel. It is only on for a couple of weeks though.

Tv time and its Corrie, Paul Ogrady dogs and Part 4 of the itv drama for me tonight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  A reasonable night …for me .It was sunny(if bitterly cold) this morning so I went for a walk first thing ….and saw a Cyril Apart from that I’ve done a load of washing , cleaned the kitchen and  some windows , dusted and restocked the wildlife Some nice  M&S pork steaks for lunch and that’s me done for the day .I hope everyone else is having a nice Friday .

Mollie , yea, I’m enjoying watching programmes with you too .I had a lovely few hours with my son yesterday ….big hug , and a few tears on both sides .But it’s nice to know one of my kids still loves me .Hope your day is going well, and see you for FIAB and George .Hicky , I hope you and Mrs H are holding up ok ….and that your rash has cleared up now .

Aaaww how lovely you enjoyed a visit and a much needed cuddle off your son after it  was so long since you last saw him.

I enjoyed both 4In a Bed and George, and of course the forum fun.

It was sunny here too, a bit chilly, but I managed to sit out in the garden with my coat on and did a few puzzles.

My knee is still bad and I can do much or walk far as its so painfull. I am persisting with the exercises and hope it eases. Put some pain relief cream on it too at night.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Horrible weather here today , and not set to change until Thursday !I didn’t sleep too badly , if you call waking up every two hours ok. Given the awful weather there was no walk, so I’ve spent the day catching up on the housework , and washing duvet cover …..still got the dreaded shuffle to do ! Still , I had some nice M&S poached salmon for lunch , and now I’m watching tv …so not a bad day .

I hope  you are both ok , and your Sunday is going well .

we too had the bad weather day yesterday, bit better today, but still showery.

Waking every 2 hours is not good, but I am not much better. If I try and lie on my side, my knee hurts, so I can only lie on my back.

Hope you sleep a bit better tonight. Did you manage to get your walk in today?

I still can't go out walking as my knee is so painfull. Bit better than it was though.

Glad you are still enjoying your M and S food.

I sent MrM and son to Lidl to get the shopping today.

I had veggie spring rolls with veg for tea.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Well it’s finally stopped raining here ….for now ! But it is a momentous day chez Baz …..I went for a walk and managed to get my boots on for the first time since the day before I broke my ankle ! Mind you , it’s just as well because , even though I only went in a short walk , I was wading through bliddy puddles half the time ! Aside from that I’ve not done a lot , just some washing , anti bac’d the shopping , rescued the bin, and fed the wildlife . By the way , Cyril turned the tables on my this morning .I was washing up at the sink , looked up , and there he was , sitting on a branch , stuffing his face , and watching me .

Mollie , we’ve spoken , but I hope your day is going well ….but I’m sorry your knee is still so bad .Hicky , there’s not much I can say, except that you and Mrs H are in my thoughts .

Well it’s FIAB , GBM , and Ben Fogle for me tonight …so a full evenings viewing sorted .

It was GP behind Closed Doors , then cute Dogs on C5, now Posh Hotel.

It absolutely poured all morning here, but stopped this afternoon.

Poor son had an achy tooth, lucky the dentist fitted him in today and he has an infection in 1 tooth, that has always been a problem. So is on antibiotics and he has to decide on a root canal or to have it out some time in the future.

Didn't go out today, as knee still not up to walking but moving around a bit more at home.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I’ve spent the morning moving stuff from the back garden into the garage ….and tying/weighting down everything I can …..but given the forecast I’m not sure it will be enough .But I’ve done all I can , now it’s just waiting and praying it’s not going to be as bad as they are forecasting . Aside from that.  I’ve not done a lot …just washed the towels and hoovered . I didn’t sleep too badly last night , but I didn’t feel up to a walk …..and no sign of Cyril either . I hope everyone else is having a good day .

Mollie ….make sure you stay safe tomorrow , cos I see you’ve got a red weather warning down your way . It’s amber up my way , and I’m scared stiff.But at least we have FIAB and Apprentice to look forward to tonight .Hicky , sending a big hug your way .

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky So far today we’ve had heavy rain, and snow ….and more weather warning for high winds tomorrow and Monday.   My good nights sleep never materialised , so I’ve not done a lot today ….just some washing , dusting and anti bac’d my M&S delivery. Aside from that , I’ve had some nice pork chops for lunch , and now I’m curled up on the sofa .I hope you are both ok .

And as for the weather, gosh I am sick of it. Windy again overnight and rain, rain and more rain today. This appears now to be the month for the storms. We need the sun please!

The only good thing is we don't have a red warning any more, but it appears we now have a yellow one.

Yesterday morning we braved the rain and went to the little local cafe for brekkie with my friend, which was very nice. MrM did a few DIY jobs for her as she is disabled.

Staying in today, as the rain is even worse than yesterday, and its windier too.

Son is making frozen pizza and chips for tea.
