glad you slept ok, but shame about the wet weather and your gristly steak.

I did enjoy my meal with my friend thanks. I had cheese and potato pie with salad and sweet potato chips and she had a huge gammon. And we both had ice cream with cream and sauce on top. She sneakily paid for it too all including MrM's as he came for the meal but not the desert. She said she was grateful for all the work MrM had done in her garden, he spent hours tidying it up and cutting grass and didn't take payment as she a friend and disabled.

Son did better than he thought thanks, as he has been offerred 2 interviews! He did get a very low score for the team talk bit ,but the other sections, he picked up points. He wil find the interview difficult with nerves, so hope he does ok.

Hicky

sorry your SIL is in such a bad way now. Things have been so hard for you lately.

And sorry to hear MrsH was so weak today. At least if she is enjoing her lattes, she is getting nourishment from the milk, but its a shame she is eating so little.

You have been busy what with MrsH's food, washing/drying, and ordering all that stuff. I am glad you managed to squeeze some time in some time to watch your recordings as sorting all that must be tiring for you.

I was getting tired of IAC as the tasks were impossible to do, but tonight's seems more acheivable. Am watching now and Naughty Boy is doing well and its funny with the feathers too. Naughty Boy has been my fave since the 1st episode. as I think he is a sensitive soul and struggles socially, but always tries so hard with the tasks. My fave character from Corrie is on too.

Yes the Richard thing is quite a puzzle, and the bubble thing odd as he was with Ant and Dec who also mix with the other contestants.

Went to town today to get a thick lumberjack shirt for MrM's Christmas pressie.

Afternoon Meanies  It’s overcast , but not too chilly here . I woke up at 5 o’clock again this morning !😑😑But Cyril came a visiting first thing , so that cheered me up .He seems to like the monkey nuts best , so I’ve ordered two bags of them for him .Aside from that , I’ve dusted, washed , done some exercises ,and not much else today . I hope everyone else is having a good Friday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , I’m really glad your son has done so well We will have to agree to differ on NB …..he is my least favourite contestant ….in fact I’m close to turning off because of him . I have to say that I tend to agree with Hicky , I think the show is nearing the end of its shelf life . …but I will keep watching just for the giggles in the thread .Hicky , I’m sorry your SIL is having such a bad time ….and that Mrs H seems weaker the moment .I don’t mind you bulk ordering stuff , I’ve been stocking up on a few things too ..just in case we run into shortages before Xmas .

Well it’s MC , half of Gogglebox , and Celeb for me tonight .I hope you both have a good evening , and look after yourselves .

Baz

both xxx

Baz

well that Cyril is certainly getting spoilt by you. How nice. I tend to wake at 5am too, and it is such a long morning then in winter time, so annoying.

I agree that IAC is now getting rather monotonous. I only half watch it, as I record it and skip through most of it. I think the contestants are dull and mostly unknowns. So not keen on any of them, even though Naughty Boy is my fave. At this time of year, I don't have much time to watch anything though , as with all the Christmas shopping and my card writing, I get behind on house jobs.

Maybe it was Ros must helped son get these interviews, because of her "she, her" advice, as he at least knew the routine for that. He is now nervous about the interviews as that is relatively new to him too.

Hope you and MrsH are ok today HIcky.

Today I have sorted out my Christmas pressies (I buy them as I go along, then forget what I've bought for who) , written some Christmas cards, (some of which I did twice, as my method somehow went wrong). and I helped son find some sites to help with interviews and suggest replies he could give.

Tv time now, Gogglebox preferred to IAC tonight.

Have a good evening both xxx

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

The rest of my Amazon orders came today so have loads of cup of soup flavours and tins of Heinz tomato soup, also the clips for the greenhouse glass came and a small tub of Cornish sea salt.

Mrs H had a tin of soup, for tea had some king prawns and some scallops i cooked for her, i had some small prawns and some curry with fried rice.

She is pretty weak but can get to the on suit ok which is good, an Icare nurse pops in every day at about 9:15 or so, so i unlock the door at 8am, they would come more often but Mrs H doesn't want them to as they usually wake her up as she just sleeps in bursts.

I stopped watching It takes two as i can't stand Rylan, he spends more time looking at the camera than he does looking at his guests when speaking to them.

I have F1 again this weekend from Saudi, so am happy with that.

Don't forget Cyril buries the nuts, they only eat a couple then fill their cheeks and go and bury them for the winter, but they forget where they are.

I don't know what is going on here over Christmas, i think i will order some fish etc and ducks as i love duck, no idea yet what Mrs H will want

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you slept ok and Cyril is enjoying your garden.I wonder if your Cyril is silly enought to bury his nuts, then forget where they are? I expect you are enjoying your tv with the gang tonight. (Strictly I guess?).

Hicky

you are doing well cooking prawns and scallops for MrsH , they will be good for her. That is good she can make it to the ensuite ok, and she gets a nurse each day. Don't blame her not wanting them too often if they wake her up, sleep is so important.

That's nice you have your F1 to enjoy this weekend. I didn't really enjoy IAC again last night.

Yes its time to think of your Christmas food orders now. I have a Morrisons order booked Christmas week, but have been buying bit and pieces for awhile now to put in the freezer.

Avoided the shops today as I thought it would be too busy, so just went a walk downt the lane and saw the ducks, horses and the sheep look quite big now because their fur is so thick! They need it on a day like today as the wind was extremely cold even though it was beautifully sunny. I tried to sit in the garden, but didn't last long in the wind. It did dry 3 washloads nicely for me though.

Will tune into IAC tonight as there is nothing else on, but will switch to recordings if its boring.

I thought Naughty Boy with his mums cushion was sweet, his sister was on tv and says he worries about his mum as she has dementia and he lives with her and looks after her.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It’s cold and overcast here today, but at least the wind has dropped….for now! I slept marginally better last night , but not done an awful lot today ….just hoovered , fed the birds and Cyril , and done a load of washing . I had a nice piece of poached salmon for lunch , and that is me done for the day .I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , awwww I’m sure your son will do just fine in his interviews ….he’s obviously impressed them to have got this far .It will be interesting to see who gets kicked out first on Celeb …..I think it will be either Arlene (who I certainly won’t miss!) , or Louise …although it might be Kadeena , which will be a shame imo .  Looks like we are in for more gales here on Tuesday! Hicky , I don’t blame Mrs H not wanting them to visit too often …..especially if she can only sleep in short bursts . But like Mollie says, you are doing well on the cooking front . Did you watch scd yesterday ? I’m hoping Rose wins .

Well, it’s a full evenings viewing for me today …scd results , chateau , and Celeb ….although I can’t say I’m enjoying the latter much .Have a good evening all .

Baz

Baz

glad to hear you slept a bit better. Hope Cyril enjoyed his treats today.

Yes interesting to see who goes next from IAC, There are plenty of boring contestants who we won't even noticed if they left!  Not impressed at all with this group this year.

more gales, you would have thought the last one was enough for now. (even though it wasnt bad gales here last time).

Sounds like you have a busy evenings viewing planned. Enjoy.

Think I will do some more Christmas cards, so I can get them out of the way.

Hicky

hope you had an enjoyble Sunday and you managed to sort MrsH's food out today and had time for your own food and F!.

Been a nice sunny weekend here, cool but nice enough to sit outside with my coat on , and do my puzzle book.

Looked after neighbours elderly dog this afternoon, he had been unwell, but MrM tempted him to eat with our dog's fave, sweet potato. He had to feed him by hand but at least he ate it.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Had a quiet day really, had 2 carers pop in at 09.15 this morning for 5 minutes, i unlock front doors at 8am then take meds and prepare for nurses etc.

Made duck breast and tinned toms for lunch, but the ducks are wild and Mrs H said it was too strong for her, for tea i cooked a tinned steak pie with Yorkshire puds and gravy, she ate most, just left 1 yorky, she has a few Lattes during the day and whole milk & bottles water.

One of the plastic panes has blown out of the greenhouse now, the clips spring out so i won't be able to find them but the new ones i bought should solve that, i'll have to get the gardener but the weather is so nasty.

One of her brothers and wife came yesterday and brought more baby pork pies and 2 packs of wild duck breasts.

Her sister and hubby is coming tomorrow, i have an appointment at a hospital Tuesday, a follow-up from the kidney situation, i'll have to get a taxi i think.

On the 17th i have an appointment for a CT scan to find out where i am bleeding from, and from 3 days before i have to follow a strict diet, more fun and games.

Been watching F1 the weekend, the Saudi track is deadly, how someone didn't get injured or worse i have no idea, some areas you can't see who is in front or behind.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you are having a good day and slept ok last night. I think you guessed rightly who left IAC last night. I was not keen on her though.

Hicky

Hope your hospital appointment goes well today, and you manage ok with the special diet before your CT scan.

its hard work for you having to make sure you are up each morning by 8am to open up, but its good it means help is on the way for MrsH. That's good she enjoyed the steak pie dinner, as she didn't enjoy lunch. You are doing so well making all these meals for her, as well as your own.

Shame the greenhouse panes came out and the weather is not good enough to sort it yet. I guess this time of year, it is not easy to get a good long spell of weather. I think some places are due for gales and a storm today. We did have a very heavy shower earlier, but not too bad now. Not very windy.

I thought you would be enjoying the F1.

Am finishing my Christmas cards now, and sorting out Christmas pressies. MIght go for a walk later if it doesn't look like rain.

Have a good day both xxx

M

Afternoon Mollienand Hicky. A very stormy morning here ….but it’s calmed down a bit now …thank goodness ! I didn’t sleep too badly last night , and the bin men managed to collect the bins early,  thankfully before the storm hit ! Aside from that , I’ve done a load of washing , hoovered , dusted , cleaned kitchen , and fed the wildlife .Poor Cyril looked like a drowned rat , but it didn’t stop him doing his *eat and stash * runs .I hope you are all managing to stay warm and dry .

Mollie , I’ve been writing out Xmas cards too …and actually ordered a couple of presents this morning . I decided that I couldn’t face putting the big 6ft Xmas tree up this year , so I bought a little 3ft fibre optic one , which came this morning . It’s actually quite pretty …and fits nice on the coffee table . So I’ve put up a couple of family decorations and , as there will just be me for Xmas , that’s my lounge done . I was sorry to see Kadeena go ….I actually liked her ….and I think maybe it will be Louise tonight ….who I also like .I actually Hicky , I hope the hospital appointment went well today. Sorry about your greenhouse though …I hope storm barra hasn’t done any more damage this morning . It’s nice that your wife’s family have been able to visit …I’m sure she’s pleased to see them .

Well it’s a full nights viewing for me tonight ….Posh Hotels, Masterchef , and Celeb .Have a good evening both , and look after yourselves .

Baz

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

I was ready for my appointment this afternoon, awful weather so was going to wrap up warm, take my automatic small umbrella, had my urine sample in my shoulder bag with my meds prescription, hadn't ordered the taxi, then i got a call from the hospital saying instead of going to the hospital the consultant will ring me at the appointment time, he did that and said because i was going for a CT scan on my bowel next week he will be able to see the scan and see if the Abscess / Cyst or whatever it was has come back or not.

Gave Mrs H some chicken cup of soup, but she said it tasted like sour milk, gave her soft-boiled eggs, bread, butter etc to make an egg sandwich, but later she brought it up, she had a couple of care workers today, they usually just sit and chat with her.

I had some soft-boiled eggs for brekkie, for tea i had half a 3 cheese pasta bake, it was very nice, i froze the other half as Mrs H didn't want any.

It's a pain getting up to unlock the door, i then get back in bed for a bit as the carer typically comes at about 9.15 so i can't really have a lie in, and at 8am i make Mrs H a coffee.

Need to go and load the dishwasher and turn it on, when i was on my own i  only used the dishwasher once a week as i washed the day dishes each evening, not enough to put the nachine on.

Hicky

Baz

that is good you slept a bit better, maybe the teddy bedding is helping, as it is so snuggly.

at the weather not putting Cyril off getting his stash of food.

Aaww your little tree sounds lovely.   The fibre optic ones are so pretty too.

Hope the storm there has stopped now.

Its windy here and we have been having heavy showers on and off, but could be worse.

You do have a lot of viewing tonight.

I did enjoy the posh hotel forum, such fun we have on that one.

Hicky

what a shame you went to all that trouble for your appointment and then they didn't want to see you after all. But lucky you didn't get as far as attended an uneeded appointment.

Aaaww it must be so hard for you trying to find something that MrsH can tolerate to eat. And tiring too as you can't even have a lie in. Sounds like if you find somethng she likes and doesn't make her feel ill, you will have to just keep repeating it. Or do you think it is not the actual food making her sick, but just if she has an off day, or maybe the meds upset her?

Managed to go a nice wak down the lane and chatted to a few neighbours on the way because it was quite nice and dry and not windy when we were out. Its poured later though. The horses were in their stable again, but we saw the ducks in the farmyard.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Weather awful, poor nurses get wet in this stormy stuff.

Had a podiatrist here doing our toenails, it was getting harder to walk as they haven't been done for so long and i can't find the number i used to ring, mind you they did say don't ring us we will ring you, but they didn't.

A couple of care workers came today, 1 came at 9:10 and at 1pm, a district nurse came in the morning as well.

Mrs H had coffee and some spaghetti hoops, i think any sickness is all related to the meds, a pharmacy is making up some blister packs.

Her sister is coming tomorrow to see what she can do, she might be able to go to the store for more food i need for next week.

No.#5 son should be coming Saturday 11th and No.#2 son should come on the 19th.

Nice that you could walk down the lane and talk to neighbours, no-ones outside here in this weather.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I’ve been a busy Baz today. As the weather was a bit better I walked to the postbox and got the first tranche of Xmas cards mailed . When I came home , changed sheets , washed , and then I spent the rest of the morning sorting out my Xmas list . So all I have left to do is mail the rest of the cards , once some more stamps arrive , and order a couple of gift tokens ….and that’s me done . I hope everyone else is having a more relaxing Thursday than me .

Mollie , I really enjoyed the George thread last night …it’s a good giggle .I think you can guess I was really pleased with Celeb last night .I’m glad you missed the worst of the weather ….it was horrendous up here ! Yes, the little tree is very colourful .Has your son heard any more on the job front ?Hicky , how annoying about your appointment , but thank goodness they phoned before you set off!If it’s because of the meds , can  the doctor not give your wife something to help with the sickness? I am not surprised you are tired though .

Well it’s George , Masterchef and Celeb for me tonight …so another full evening .Have a good one my friends

Baz

Baz

gosh you have been a  busy bee today and sound all organised for Christmas. I certainly haven't been as busy as you.

Yes we have fun on the George thread, how lucky you managed to find another one tonight, as there is not much else on.

Did Cyril visit today?

No news on the job front, the 1 he fancied told him they would get back to him today and of course they didn't, so he thinks he doesn't stand a chance of that one now. The other one was more formal as the Uni solicitor and accountant interviewed him and he doesn't think he got that either. But at least he knows he got through that awful 3 hour assessment centre, even if he does't get the job. Like all jobs, competition is hard.

HIcky

Good job you got your nails cut, especially as they didn't ring you. Typical... they always say they will ring, then don't bother unless you chase them up.

Yes not an easy job for nurses going house to house in such bad weather.

That is the trouble with meds, they can upset your tum so easily. Hope she was ok after her food today.

Hope she enjoyed her sisters visit today and she was able to sort some food shopping out for you.

Glad to see 2 of your sons are coming to viist you before Christmas.

One of my mums sisters is 90 next week, so we are going to her party. They are having a Christmas meal in a pub. Its a good 2 hours drive, so hope the traffic will be ok.

It was lovely and sunny first thing, so we went for a walk by the farm, but then it started to rain, not too heavy at first, so we quickly came home. Lucky we didn't hang around, as it started to pour down.

Tv time now.

Goodnight both xxxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky It’s rained all day here….but my stamps arrived so I’ve been able to finish writing my cards …and hopefully it will be dry enough for the 1.5k walk to the postbox tomorrow ….then , aside from a couple of things I still have to order on line , I’m finished  . Aside from that I’ve done the duvet shuffle ,hoovered , anti bac’d the shopping delivery ,  and another load of washing is on right now ….so quite a productive day …for me .I hope everyone else is having a good day , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , I think your son did brilliantly just to get through the assessment ….that’s quite something these days .I hope you get to the party ok ….especially as I think we will have more covid restrictions in place soon . I have been stressing about Xmas , because I’ve had to source everything …apart from the cards …online again this year ….bliddy covid !Hicky , I hope you and Mrs H are having a good weekend …and that Mrs H sister came yesterday .

Well it’s Strictly , and Celeb for me tonight .Have a good evening both , and take care .

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Another wet & miserable day, tomorrow should be better, No. #5 son came which was very handy, he went to Sainsbury's to get some ice creams and lemonade for Mrs H, then got us fish and chips from the local chippy, then i ordered a delivery from the Chinese restaurant for us, we will have some of it tomorrow as he is back in the morning, he couldn't stay after 2:30 as he had to pick up his Mrs, they are staying in Manchester tonight.

He gave me a Birthday and a Christmas pressy as well, the Christmas on is a cookery book from an Indian author who opened an Indian restaurant in London in 1926, Veerasawmy is the auther and cook and the name of the restaurant, i went to it for a meal with friends whan attending a course on work and time study at Esher College, it was the best eating place i had ever seen, wow, and its still open now, pretty expensive but authentic to the letter, it is a fantastic paperback, my lad remembered me telling him about the restaurant and the name stuck with him, i didn't even know he had written a book, it was 1st published in 1963 and has been reprinted ever since, it is so old it even has salt spoons as a measure and thin and thick coconut milk, it's a good read for me anyway.

Got F1 this weekend again from Abu Dhabi, great for me anyway.

One of the tablets to stop sickness is round and about 6 mm diameter, but the dose is 1/4, so she has to put the pill in a cutter machine and cut it in half then put the half in and cut that in half, what a strange thing a sick person has to do, surely they can make smaller pills in that case.

I did my washing yesterday, I am loving this tumble dryer, so easy as i then just fold and put it away, ideal that for me.

Hicky

Baz

Rained here all day too, so let's hope it does stop tomorrow, and you can get your cards off. I still have some to do too, so hope to get them in the post tomorrow. I see that, as usual, you have been busy around the house.

Son not happy at all, he has gone through a long 3 stage appication for this job.  Monday's interview told him they would let him know Thursday and they did not even have to decency to contact him at all about either job yet. Its so bad, especially with the amount of time he had to put into it, let alone the 3 hour assessment centre. I assume they will either not contact him at all, or they have offerred it to someone else and are just waiting for their references and for them to formally accept it now, but leaving my son hanging on as last choice if they have no one else. Other son also had an interview on Thursday and they said they would let him know Friday, and of course, nothing for him either, just ghosted. Why do they lie when they have no intention of getting back to them, by the day they say they will?  These people who do this should consider what this does to young job applicants confidence. Serve the interviewers right if they lost their jobs and found themselves in this postion.

Such a shame you have had to source everything online again, its not easy. Covid really does need to shove off now, its been 2 long annoying years. But South Africa are still saying this version is mild, so fingers crossed it stays like that.

Hicky

hope no5 son did make it to see you today and you and MrsH had an enjoyable day with him.

It was son's Christmas Fayre today and he was helping, so me, MrM and my disabled friend went. There were home made cakes there, so if course, I had to have one and it was delicous and we won a few nice things on the tombola. Went round town and it was pretty quiet, think the rain put people off. I did read Cardiff was very busy though, so people must have gone there instead, as the big shopping centre would keep them dry.

Going to watch IAC now as I like the water task, but overall have not been that impressed with the contestants this year.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Weather a bit better today, early rain but after that it was ok and warm at about 13c, No.#5 son was back by 09:10 bringing his lad and a little old dog, he cut my hair and went to Sainsbury’s for a few bits.

We had food from last night, we shared starters of chicken balls, salt n pepper chicken wings and ribs with a sweet chili dip for the chicken balls, then we had Singapore fried rice with king prawn curry.

He had to leave at 2.30 to pick up his Mrs, she had come down in the BMW, he hired a van as she had too much stuff to put in the car with them all in as well, she has been doing a training course on Yoga or something.

Glad you got to the Christmas Fare, yummy cakes eh, glad you won stuff on the tombola, can't be bad.

I gave up with IAC, not keen on the castle or the contestants, and not keen on the public having control of all the stuff that goes on, its not fair really, if they pick ones that fail then they go hungry, is that good!!!?

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Miserable day here …in more ways than one !I But I did manage to get the last of my cards mailed yesterday …just a couple more presents to get , then I’m done . I  hope everyone else is having a better day than I am .

Mollie , I hope you had a good weekend . I’m not surprised that your sons are fed up ….or that you are angry about it …it’s disgusting that they can’t even be bothered to follow up when they say they will. What did you think about the celeb result ? Out of the last three I wanted Simon to win ….I thought he came across as a lovely guy . Don’t forget it’s posh hotels at 8 tomorrow (Tuesday ) ….and George at 8 on Thursday .Hicky , I’m glad your son came over , and gave you a haircut What did you think of the race result ? How is Mrs H doing ? Are the sickness tablets helping any ?By the way , I wouldn’t be without my tumble dryer .

how nice your son, grandson and little dog made it to see you and he cut your hair and took you to Sainsburys too.

I expect MrsH was pleased to see him too. Hope you managed to get her to eat something today. Sounds like you had a good variety of food when your son came.

Baz

sorry you did not have a good day, hope it improves tomorrow. I too managed to get my cards off and only have a coupe of things to get, then have to wrap them all.

IAC...I too had hoped to see Simon win. He was a funny guy.

Thanks for the tv reminders. We have fun on the forum.

It was drizzly this morning, but dried up this afternoon, so I went to town. Had to post some Christmas parcels. There was a queue for the post office. Then got some frozen food from Iceland. I feel shattered now.

Yes Baz, not much on tv tonight, so I settled for that new singing show.

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Had a fake text message showing it as from the NHS, saying a could apply for a Covid pass, i typed the address link on the test into google on my Puter, it came up and said it had blocked the site as it said it was dodgy and probably phishing, awful when even test messages are fake, but i never follow a link on the mobile as they aren't that well protected and i might not have got a warning.

I was hoping to get the gardener this week, but they had been to Germany and on returning got a warning from the NHS saying they could have been in contact with a person who was infected with the virus, they got tested and she ws positive, but he is not working till friday when her isolation is over, I will ring him after my appointment at the hospital for the CT scan.

SIL has to have an op on Thursday as the swelling on her leg is growing fast, it could be one of 50 types of cancer.

Mrs H is very weak but battling on, she's eating very little, i make anything she wants or fancies, same with drinks, that's all i can do, i made her a few chips earlier, but she eats very few of them.

No#2 son is coming to see us Sunday, he has been so busy with his company trying to course packing material and production facility as he hasnt got enough in the uk.

I am on day 1 of the diet, been eating fish mainly as i'm very limited on this low residue diet, i have all i need though as i got it in last week.

Having the 3 machines is so handy, washer, dryer and dishwasher, makes life a lot easier.

BAZ i thought the result of the F1 was dreadful, to put Lewis who was 10 seconds ahead of Verstappen and on very old tyres in a last lap race by overriding the rules was criminal, never seen such a bad decision, and Peres had been causing problems all through the race to hold up Lewis, i am utterly disgusted with what was done to ensure Lewis couldn't win.

Mrs H hasnt been sick again, its usually the antibioyics that do it but it can mean she may bring up the meds.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  A less stressful day chez Baz ….although right on cue my ibs has kicked off ! Yesterday I had to get an electrician in because the cables to the outside back lights were hanging down …..I presume they had worked loose in the storms ! If it’s not one thing it’s another ! Don’t forget it’s George tomorrow …..and Ros and I will be watching Ben Fogle tonight-at 8 (5 Select) if you fancy joining us .Hicky , I’m sorry to hear about your SIL ….I hope the growth turns out to be benign .I don’t follow the F1 , but read about the controversy on the news .I’m glad No 2 son is visiting this weekend …I’m sure Mrs H will be pleased.

Trouble is so was the credit card bill .Anyway , that’s paid now ….painful though it was !I hope everyone else is having a good day , whatever you are up to .

Sorry you did not have a too good day today.  You did well managing to get out for a walk despite that though. Its nice when you see people out walking their dogs, I too chatted to a neighbour today who had her dog with her, its a black labrador puppy, so very cute.  It was dry here but dull and grey, no sun all day.

About time you had a postal deivery, its bad they didn't deliver for so long, But nice for you to get so many cards all at once though.

What a nuisance you had to have an electrian out after the storm damage. Hope it didn't prove too expensive.

Hicky

hope you managed at the scan ok today. Good job you were able to ditch the diet in time for your birthday.

It must be so hard for you trying to make food MrsH is able to eat.

I hope she will be well enough to enjoy your son's visit on Sunday.

Glad to see you are finding your washing machine, drier and dish washer usefull.

Been busy Christmas shopping, posting pressies and cards out.

Went for a walk down the lane, 3 of the horses were lying down today. It always looks strange when they are lying down.

Tv time now, Am enjoying the singing show and they win half a million on this show, can't be bad.

Goodnight both xxx

Thank you for the Birthday Wishes Mollie, BAZ and El Lorro.

Very kind of you all, had an enjoyable time eating after i got back from the hospital.

Gave a hand to the gardener to replace the broken panes in the greenhouse, he has been doing some weeding in the tubs that house Mrs H's flowers.

Mrs H had a bowl of tomato soup for her tea, she can't really eat much so just some of what she feels like, she is very weak but enjoys having visitors, one of her brothers calls in a couple of times a week, so they go over old times, pretty sure she will make Christmas now anyway, a wife of one of her brothers is going to get some shopping for us from Sainsbury's.

At the hospital i asked for assistance to get to the CT scan dept as it is a long way inside the hospital, and they got me a porter who took me, and they got one to bring me back to the entrance, they stayed with me as i wouldn't be able to see the taxi, just as well because the one that came didn't have the signs on the side as they blow off on the motorway.

Going to order an online order from the local Chinese restaurant, it will last me a couple of days, Mrs H just wants a steak pie.

The cleaners come every 2 weeks which is handy, they clean everything, pretty thorough as well.

Still playing chess with #5 son, score is me 77 him 58, he isn't impressed.

it is good you came off that diet on your birthday. Just in time for you to enjoy some nice food on your special day.

Glad you managed to get the gardener to do your windown panes and the pots for MrsH's flowers.

Poor MrsH feeling so weak, its good she is getting and enjoying seeing visitors. Hope she managed to eat her steak pie.

Its best you do get a porter for hospital visits because they are such big places involvling a lot of walking.

Your chess playing is certainly keeping your brain cells going so well, even your son, with youth on his side, can't beat you.

Son made a roast dinner for tea yesterday, I really enjoy his Yorkshire puddings. We do need a new muffin tray as one of them makes stuff stick in it. Any recommendations for a good one Hicky?

Didn't do much yesterday other than wrap family Christmas pressies. Got some money off aunts, so chose some family board/card games and ordered them off Amazon as they will be delivered in time for Christmas.

Went for a walk down the lane, horses all standing up today, ducks spashing around in a muddy puddle.

Hope you both have a good Sunday. x

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Foggy and damp here this morning , but I slept a bit better last night . Having said that, I’ve not done much today …just cleaned the bathroom , changed sheets and done some washing .I hope everyone else is having an equally relaxed Sunday .

Mollie , now you’ve finished wrapping your presents , can you come and do my last couple too . Your walks sound lovely …..the best I can hope for on mine are some dogs , and if I’m lucky some Cyril squirrels . How nice for your son to cook your dinner too .Hicky, glad you had a nice birthday ….and that your gardener was able to sort things out for you .I agree with Mollie , re hospital porter . Did you watch Strictly last night ? I was so pleased with the result .

Well apart from Escape to the Chateau there isn’t much on TV tonight , but have a good evening both , whatever you are watching .

Baz

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Weather ok here today, #2 son came with No. 2 wife and son, got lots of goodies like cakes and a tin of fantastic biscuits and a massive candle in a big heavy glass, the candle crackles as it burns, and he even went to the co-op in his Porsche for milk & Maltesers.

I am still trying to get through some Chinese food i got last night, had the big sausages for brekkie, had the duck and pancakes before, Did Mrs H rice with some onion gravy, she finished off what i gave her, had a nurse here twice today, first one was here at 08.20.

One of my SIL has arranged for us to have a Christmas Roast delivered, or she is going to bring it from her place, not sure, but it sounds good to me as we aren't doing anything this year.

Mrs H is better today as they prescribed some steroids to help her breathing.

I did a wash load for her, the cream for her rash gets all over her PJ's and towels, but the machines sort that.

No, was watching the darts so recorded strictly, got the darts till the 23rd, that will do me, i swap between stations rather a lot depends on who is playing.

Hicky

that's nice your son, wife and their son made it to see you, along with goodies. That's good MrsH is breathing a bit better on the steroids, and also that you managed to eat the rice and gravy you gave her. You are doing well thinking of different foods to tempt her, as well as sorting out the washing. Sounds like your SIL has organised your Christmas dinner nicely.

Baz

thats good you slept ok.

Wish I could come and help wrap your pressies too but we'd have to have coffee and cake too.

I watched the family with 22 kids last night, a nice documentary it was, recorded the Chateau programme.

Have a good day both x

Hicky

hope you are managing ok with sorting MrsH's food and the washing etc today.

Did you have any visitors? (other than the usual nurses?)

Baz

hope you slept ok and managed to go for your walk. Wonder if you saw any Cyrils today?

It was 6c here today but when we went for a walk, the wind was really cold, so it felt a lot colder than that.

Did a bit of food shopping 1st thing in asda before it got too busy. Their sale is on already, so got a few items of clothing to add to family's Christmas pressies. Got some food shopping too.

Went a walk down the lane and saw 2 horses lie down again. Wonder if they get more tired in winter as we didn't see the lie down in the summer?

We went to Nandos for tea tonight. It was full, so we had to go and browse the shops until our table was ready. Only took about 15mins and was very enjoyable though. I had veggie burger with a rainbow coleslaw and mash. The others had spicy chicken and chips. Daughter seems to have got her appetite back, but she is on steroids, and I think they can make you hungry. She does have to be careful what she eats though, it has to be with little fibre.

Aslo wrapped up some more family pressies.

Tv time now, think I will watch the winter cruise programme.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

A cool day 7c with light cloud and a gentle breeze, a neighbour came with a lovely flower for us.

Mrs H had soup and half a steak pie, she drinks water, tea and coffee so not short of liquid.

Nurse came twice to see to her needs, so she gets plenty of care, she could have a lot more, but she doesn't want it, she wants to be too in dependant.

When someone comes she never stops talking, then when i go in after they leave she has no breath to talk, i tell her not to talk so much, she says if i don't talk then there would be silence.

How is your daughter Mollie, is all her meds etc sorted for her now?

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Well my M&S delivery is antibac'd and put away , so that’s me all done for Xmas now ….what I ain’t got ain’t getting got !Its cold and overcast here today , but I’m hoping tomorrow is a bit better so I can go for a walk before the bad weather sets in . I didn’t sleep too badly last night ….although I woke up at 5.30 ! Anyway , I’ve washed , ironed , hoovered, fed the garden animals , had some nice pork steaks for lunch , and that’s me done for the day ! I hope to goodness monkey nuts don’t germinated cos given the hundreds Cyril has buried I’m going to have a peanut farm if they do !

Mollie , we’ve spoken .But don’t worry ….I’ll make sure George is well looked after in your absence .Do you mean the Susan Calman one? If so, I wish I’d known cos we watched it too . We will be watching part 2 tonight …but not until 10 o’clock (on plus 1 ) cos of watching George at 9 .Hicky , I’m glad Mrs H is getting as much help as she requires .Are your family coming for Xmas ?

Well , my evening viewing is pretty full on ….Masterchef , George , and Susan Calman . I hope you both have a good evening too . Take care .

Baz

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Glad you slept ok last night, i usually get up once or more in the night, usually to cool down a bit, i get so hot under the duvet.

Cold and dry this morning wet this afternoon, a Brother of Mrs H came with his Mrs and brought the shopping last night, a whole salmon filleted and in a box with head and tail, i portioned it and put into ziplock bags for the freezer, also did same with a rack of lamb and 2 packs of kipper fillets.

Got loads of chocies and biscuits etc so am sorted now, love the French fancies.

I had kipper and eggs for brekkie, for tea me and Mrs H had fresh salmon with slices of lemon, and i had a baked spud as well.

A SIL had the op on her leg today, they said the op went well, cant remember what else was said.

Not sure about visitors the way things are, a SIL is going to deliver us a roast dinner on Christmas day, we have no tree up, no decorations, nothing to celebrate really, It's going to be a very sad Christmas, Mrs H is hanging on, the medication is marvellous really.

No.#4 son abroad said his crypto had gained $386k today, wow.

Just watching the darts from London the Alex-Palace, world darts, started 8 days ago with 96 players, it carries on in the new year.

Hope Mollie is ok and her family.

Meant to say, Mrs H had a roasted rack of lamb chop for lunch, she enjoyed that.

Afternoon Meanies  I hope you are all having a good Thursday . I was up early , cos I woke worrying about something .Not that I’ve done a lot today . Sorry to hear it has to be a sad Christmas for you and MrsH, but hope you can both enjoy eating some of the dinner when your SIL delivers it.

Glad to hear SIL's op is out of the way and it went ok.

That's good MrsH's brother was able to bring some shopping for you, sounds all good stuff . I too love those French Fancies you mentioned. What is your fave colour in them? I like the pink ones.

That's good you found something MrsH enjoyed to eat for her tea.

Daughter is a bit better than she was, but in addition to the 4 hour infusion in hospital she had on Thursday, she is on steroids and other meds, so does not feel great and her mood swings are not good, so we are all having to be careful with her. And the exhaustion she gets often overwhelms her.

Your son is certainly doing well with his crypto.

Baz

Cyril is certainly a busy boy in your garden. Hope your delivery bought plenty of supplies for him.  Did you get any special Christmas food treats from M and S?

I did enjoy the Sewing Bee thread last night.

I will join you for the Holkan Hall tonight, sounds good.

At last I think I have all prepared for Christmas. Not sure when I need to get the turkey out of the freezer though.

Son made a delicous mac cheese for tea tonight and we had it with some oven ciabatta.

Drizzly on and off today, but at least we know we are heading for lighter days now.

Have a good evening both xxx

Evening Mollie & BAZ.

Nurses came early and midday to check Mrs H was ok and see if she needed any help.

Mrs H fancied 4 little sausages with 2 baby vine toms with a small tin of spaghetti hoops, she polished those off anyway, she has had some milk and some licorice all sorts.

I am eating normal, had shredded wheat for brekkie then some cakes, for lunch had a cup of soup and more cakes, for tea had 5 chicken wings with a coating of Cajun spice, it really makes them so much more tasty.

Window cleaners came, one of her brothers called in for 10 minutes to see her.

Think i will have kipper fillet and bacon for brekkie, easy to do.

Hope Mollie is ok, no sign of her for a few days.

Just watching the darts, last night till after Christmas.

Hicky

Hicky

I am here, we must have posted the same time  as my last post was directly above yours.

I am so pleased you are eating well again, that is a good list of food eaten yesterday, and MrsH did well with her food yesterday too. Hope you have both had a good appetite today too.

That's nice MrsH had her brother visit yesteday.

Hope SIL delivers your Christmas dinner ok tomorrow and you enjoy it.

Daughter and I went for lunch today and I had sweet potato curry/rice/poppodoms, and daughter had chicken and mushroom pie. Sons were playing online gaming, and MrM wrapped pressies.

Just took doggie out a walk and it had suddenly gone very foggy.

Lots of good tv tongiht, so settled for Breaking Dad and I can see Your Voice. I like that as it is such a different type of singing show.

Have a lovely Christmas Eve night both.
