Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I had another bad night ….I woke up at 2am, 4am, 5am, 6am! It was raining here until midday , then the sun came out , now it’s cloudy again .I’ve not done a lot today , just some bureaucratic stuff, and 30 minutes of exercise ….but I did manage to find a small load of washing .I hope you are all having a nice relaxing Sunday .

Such a lovely day all day today, very warm in the sun, all the washing got dried, and I sat out in the sun.

Son was all day again in rehearsals, another one of his group had been in isolation with covid again, but has recovered now. Hopefully now all who are going to get it, have had it now before the actual performance next month.

Tired tonight again, so will just watch Antiques Roadshow and have an early night.

The covid test is because i am going to hospital for a procedure to take the stent out that is between the left kidney and the bladder, you have to have the test and then isolate untill the op, its on Wednesday.

Why were you waking every few hours Baz, that's not good, that's as bad as me, i am so hot under the duvet but don't want to turn the heating down much, have put it down to 20c for now, its 22c in my room.

Been watching gold hunters and opal hunters, haven't been going to bed so early, so i get a bit more tired.

I too have been getting quite hot at night lately, but I did hear it has been very mild overnight for this time of year. Hope a later bed time means you sleep better.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It was wet here first thing , and it is quite breezy , but not cold . I slept quite well last night ….not that it’s translated into much action today . I’ve done a small load of washing , hoovered , rescued bin and fed the birds ….and that’s me done for the day ….although I did do half an hour of *gentle* exercise ….key word being gentle.  Ihope you are all enjoying your Tuesday .

Mollie , no, I don’t walk in the rain ….given all the fallen leaves …and my penchant for falling over .But I have been doing some gentle exercise every day , so I’m not totally inactive . Had a call from age uk, we went through the form for Att allowance, it took 75 minutes, they are going to send me the form filled in except for where i have to add a few details and signatures.

Mrs H was fine when she came home on Saturday, Med Equip delivered a Zimmer for her today and linked an alarm button up to the phone line in case she needs help.

Evening Both.

Went to the hospital for the procedure but putting the camera in etc, and pulling the stent out, its going to be painful weeing for a day or more as well, they checked my water before they started and said i had no infection, wow, i was pleased about that.

Hope you both have been getting some sleep last night, i still get up in the night, get a drink and have a bite to eat from my stocked drawers under the desk.

My bottled water was delivered, 24 x 750ml with sports cap and 48 by 500ml with sports cap, that could last a while, they are starting to use bottled water in the hospital as they say the old method of the big plastic jug and a beaker can lead to infection.

Just popped in quickly to say I’m glad the the stent is out , with no infection ….and that Age Concern sorted out the attendance allowance for you Hicky . Will pop back tomorrow and post properly . Sleep well

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Very sunny , if chilly here today . I had a terrible night , but booster jab is done and dusted , no side effects so far.The taxi firm sent taxis without screens , but luckily it’s only a 5/6 minute  drive away , and I was double masked , so fingers crossed!  Aside from that I’ve done a large load of washing , fed birds , and the gardeners have been and mowed the lawns and trimmed the hedges .I hope you are both enjoying some sunshine too .

Mollie , I hope you are continuing to improve …..and that you can join us for woodwork tonight at 8 .Hicky , glad they are getting things sorted for Mrs H ….and hopefully she can come home for a bit longer .

Going to use up a few of the frozen meals i have that Mrs H got me from Sainsbury's, just to make some room.

My friend was in hospital over the summer and she told me they had moved from the old jug of water to bottled water Makes sense, so much more hygenic.

Sounds like you are well stocked now with your bottled water.

hope your booster went ok today. Did you get a lift from your firiend again? I certainly hope they don't impose another lockdown on the population!  So harmfull,especially to the young and small businesses. Plus I heard countries that did not do lockdowns are no worse off. But with these lot in government in Westminster, who knows what they will conjure up next?  We still have mask mandate in Wales, which i think is not a problem though.

what a good idea to introduce home exercise on rainy days. (I am sure during this time of year, we will get plenty of those!). Make sure you don't overdo it though. And as you say, when you are outside and fallen leaves are around you need to take care not to slip.

As far as i know, if Mrs H is well enough my lad will bring her home again, but i fear her health is getting worse, they are keeping ahead of the pain with meds.

Just ordered my next order of food from the Induan takeaway, it will last me for a week, i can freeze most of it.

I have F1 from Texas USA this weekend as well, so thats good.

I have no pain from the kidney/stent now and the colour of wee is better than i have seen for a very long time.

SIL came today to pick up some books for Mrs H, she is doing a lot of reading these days, dont think she can see the tv as its too far away, her eyes have deteriorated.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday . I had a mediocre night , but my jab arm seems back to normal now ….as long as I don’t touch it. Consequently , I’ve done a bit more today ….changed bedding , hoovered , anti bac’d the shopping , fed birds , did my 30 minutes of  exercises , and that’s me finished for the day . I decided to leave the duvet shuffle until tomorrow .

Mollie , I hope you are continuing to improve . Did you watch Gogglebox last night ? What do you think of the newbies ?I have to say I miss the old dears .Dont worry , if I do go out for a walk I’m very conscious of the leaves .My friend didn’t take me ….sadly her husband died last month .So I double masked and got a taxi. sorry to hear MrsH's condition is getting worse. Hope she was able to make it home for a few hours today. That's good her sister could come and get some books for her. Not sure if her sister has a library near by, but whem my mum's eyes got bad, she got large print books from the library, they have quite a lot of choice with them now.

I have just watched Gogglebox (recorded it, as I get tired at night). I think the new couple might grow on me, but like you, I so miss the 2 elderly ladies. They were brilliant together.

Am watching some of the Crown tonight as I am not keen on Strictly this year, I only watch bits of  it occasionaly if I like (or know!) someone and I don't know any of them this year.

Not a bad day today, it was cloudy, so MrM drove us to go a short walk down the seafront and I had my fave stripy lime green ice cream, only managed half of it (still not being as greddy as I used to be before I had covid ) but I enjoyed it.

It was good to see the place almost back to normal now. Coaches outside the hotel, cafe full of people and they don't have to wear masks in cafes now. I chose to sit outside in the fresh air though. Even the little land train was running. It is half term this week so quite busy.

Pressed a wrong key, probably the Ctrl with a letter and a weird screen came up, when i got back the post had gone.

They have upped Mrs H's Morphine, i assume some of her organs are under attack, they just keep her out of pain, thats all they can do really.

Mrs H can read the books fine, she bought loads from Amazon, its the tv she cant see well enough as its just too far away.

Mrs H came home, her sister went for her, a neighbour came and sat with her having a natter, she stayed about an hour, then she had some food, we had an hours natter, her brother came to take her back, they had an hours natter before they went.

I didnt have any pain at all after the booster jab and fku jab, pleased about that, my water system seems fine now, very pleased about that.

Watching F1 qualifying, saw the first 5 dancers on my strictly recording, didnt have time for the last 5.

A neighbour is going to take me to the local co-op tomorrow afternoon, i dont need a lot, eggs, cake, jaffa cakes, lucasade sport if i can get it, maltesers love them.

how annoying you lost your post but glad you managed to repost.

Glad to hear MrsH made it home and she had a few of you to chat to. I expect she even finds chatting exhausting now.

That is lucky you had no pain after either of those injections. My friend had a reaction to the flu one. She now has what looks like a large burnt patch and has been put on antibiotics for it. She thinks it will scar, which is a shame. Medical staff have recorded it on the yellow card scheme though. She has disabetes, so I think that does make her skin more sensitive.

Nice to see you have the F1 to watch now.

That's good of your neighbour to take you to the supermarket. Hope you managed to get all you needed.

It was a bit wet here this morning, then cleared up in the afternoon. Went to Lidl with son and MrM. Son helped me choose some Christmas food for the freezer, and luckily he found some nice veggie stuff for me too. Didn't stay long as I still tire easily but at least I am well enough to go out now.

My neighbours took me to the local Co-op, i got all i need for now.

I think Mrs H constantly talk when she is home, her sister said it is because of the meds, strange thing is, it doesn't tire her, but walking does.

I will go to the surgery in the morning to take a sample in for the doctor to test or send off.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Sunshine and showers here today . I didn’t sleep too badly last night , so I went for a walk first thing , but I had to cut it short at 2k because my shoes were rubbing my bad ankle ! At this rate I can see me spending the winter in my darn sandals !Aside from that , I’ve had quite a productive day …..cleaned bathrooms and kitchen , done a load of washing and ironing , got bins ready to put out , and fed the birds . I also had a lovely piece of M&S poached salmon for lunch .I hope you both had a good weekend , and your Monday is going well too .

Glad you slept a bit better, hope Mollie's cough has eased now, hope her daughter is managing her condition.

I ordered a taxi with a card reader and assistance, i had a letter to post and no stamp, the post office is very near to the doctors so got the driver to take the letter to the post office counter to get a stamp, gave him the money and said keep the change, he then drove 50m to the surgery, i took the samples in to reception, the Doc i see was off today anyway, he then drove me home, i always tell them to put £2 on the bill for themselves, its really towards the card reader as only about 20% of the drivers have them.

Had 2 eggs on toast for brekkie, then for Lunch had Duck Tika, for tea had prawn madras with egg fried rice with mango pickle, then had some Jaffa cakes, Mr Kipling's French fancy, then a few Roses chocolates from the big drum.

I've never heard of a reaction to the Flu jab like that, Mrs H was always pretty ill after the Flu jab so stopped getting it some years ago.

I have an appointment for the Urology follow-up, Dec 7th at a local hospital.

I am going to have to take it easy on these hot curries, they seem to be playing havoc with the rear end, will have to order milder ones.

Haven't heard if Mrs H is coming home tomorrow yet, maybe her sister isn't well, she has lots of medical problems anyway., i would have thought i would have heard by now.

Had Frosties for brekkie, fried eggs and toast for lunch and 4 chops from a small rack of lamb for tea, very tasty.

I'll have to see what tomorrow and the weekend brings.

I qas talking to Mrs H this morning and she never mentioned coming home.

I had an indifferent night , so not done an awful lot today , just cleaned kitchen and bathroom , a small load of washing ,fed birds and emptied the bins . Mrs H came home this morning, is staying overnight, will go back tomorrow afternoon with #5 Son, her sister brought her home, i am chief cook and waiter, her Brother popped in and chatted to her for 2 hours.

I have darts each night at the weekend, fri - sun 6pm - 10pm so i am ok for tv.

SIL brought some nice fresh Baps and some ham for her with cherry tomatoes and pickled onions.

Its getting hard to find programs that arent repeats as different channels have the same programs on, and some go back to the start in 2016.

Mrs H came home Friday and went back today, her sister brought her Friday Morning and #5 Son took her back today as he came to see us today, he will be here tomorrow as well.
I am hoping to go for a fish and chips from Parkgate, the best fish ever.
He took me to the local co-op today for my weekly shop, just a few things, bacon, eggs, baking spuds and a container of Roses chocolates.
I made him a beef Madras using best fillet steak, it makes a lovely beef curry.

Had to record Strictly with the darts being on from Amsterdam.

so glad to hear you had a good weekend and MrsH made it home. Its nice for her that her sister and brother were able to come and chat with her. Did she manage to eat the food her sister bought for her?

Its lucky you have the darts to watch, because as you say, there are certainly a lot of repeats and all the quizes they have on drive me mad.

How nice no5 son was able to take you for fish and chips and an ice cream and also make sure you had some shopping in. I bet he enjoyed your madras with best steak.

We went to seaside Friday and MrM tried the new battered chips, they were lovely. Me and son had ordinary ones with mayo and ketchup. So nice to eat on the seafront. Then I had a lime stripy ice cream. Naughty but nice.

Stayed in and caught up with washing, house stuff over weekend.

Had camabert in oven with crispy oven rolls and advocado for tea. Very nice

It's great when #5 son comes over, he can do so many jobs for me, fitting coat hangers etc, he refitted the dash cams in the window behind the shutters, didn't think the camera had room, but it did.

The fish and chips from Parkgate are the best i've ever had, and an ice cream to finish off.

Mrs H had a ham roll with pickled onion on Saturday, she didn't want any Sunday, she can get food at the Hospice, i didn't realize they don't have doctors etc there, all they have is pain relief.

I can imagine the battered chips would be rather nice if the batter was crispy, i could eat those.

I had a strawberry cornet, very nice.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Its freezing  here today ….but at least it’s stopped raining for now.  I had a bad night , but decided to take it out on the duvet shuffle ! Hope tour cough has eased Mollie, i am doing pretty well really, eating ok, and walking ok, of course the breathing is the main problem now they sorted my kidney/stone out and removed the stent, my wee is the best ever.

Had baon and eggs with toast for brekkie, have odds and sods during the day and decided on a baked spud with grated cheese over it after it had been cut up.

The cleaners came today, they do a good job, they can come every 2 weeks which is great.

I've just watched Strictly recordings, Rose sure is a star, training must be so hard for her being deaf.

Just watching Aussie gold hunters.

I was looking what i had in the garage freezer with my lad, wow, loads of chicken breast and wings, steaks fish, burgers, mash, and more.

that is good your son was able to help you out with odd jobs and even better that he took you for the best fish and chips ever.

Sounds like you had a good varied diet again. That nasty infection and the antibiotcis must have been putting you off your food for such a long time. I too love jacket potatoes and cheese. At least you have a good choice of freezer food too.

That is a good idea to get the cleaners in every couple of weeks. How did you choose which ones to use?

I got through the whole night without coughing, hooray! Hope it doesn't come back now.

Even went to work this morning, nice to be back with the hustle and bustle of the kids at schol again and the rest of the staff who are all really nice. I am exhausted though now, am back again Thursday, so tomorrow has to be a rest day for me.

When we went out to work early this morning, son's car was covered in frost. A sudden change from all the mild weather we had in October. Our little old doggie comes back shivering after her walkies, so we wrap her in a blanket.

Glad your cough has eased/gone Mollie, as you say, hope it doesn't come back, you will have to take it easy if you go to work, it will wear you out.

It's great when #5 son comes as i see him for 3 days and hes a good DIY lad as well, also we can go out to eat, but he can only come every couple of weeks or so, usually when his Mrs needs to come back to Manchester where her Northern Dance studio is situated.

The cleaners were chosen because some relation has them, and they are very good, they come every 2 weeks which is fine.

I had Frosties for brekkie and a crumpet and 2 bowls of soup midday and 2 rounds of toast tje for tea had some prawn curry and rice.

Just watched gold hunters, an old one and now Salvage Hunters, repeat.

At the eye clinic tomorrow afternoon, will get a taxi.

Afternoon Darnies A less eventful day chez Baz…thank goodness….yesterday was a right mare  , cos  I went to post my grandsons birthday card, but had forgotten how much it had rained lately , so the route I had taken had a huge puddle across it , but instead of turning around and going a different way , I decided to try and walk round it on the grass ….bad idea ! I ended up ankle deep in the mud ! Consequently , I haven’t done much today ….just some washing , and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom . Shopping delivery is all anti bac’d and put away , some exercise done , and I had a nice pork steak for lunch ….now I’m sitting on the sofa and have no intention of doing anything else .I hope everyone else is having a nice Wednesday .

That was bad luck getting in the mud, hope you got the card.

I was at the eye clinic, they did the standard eye reading test and eye pressure test then the scans for the doctor, don't think the doctor was there today, they will send me a new appointment in the post.

Mrs H is ok at the Hospice, we use WhatsApp to chat as that doesn't tire her like talking on the phone would, not sure if she can arrange anything for the weekend yet.

I did scrambled eggs for brekkie and Cajun chicken wings for tea.

I did enjoy Bake Off, and the wood show too is improving now we are getting to know them.

Yes I have done more than enough hours at work now, and it was only 6 hours this week. I'm done in, but I helped out when they were short and I do enjoy the job. I ended up looking after a lad who was sick all over the floor today, Poor young fella, he was worried his exam would be cancelled, but head teacher so nice to him and said they would be able to average it out.

Rest day tomorrow, will just do a bit of washing. Lovely sunny day today, but chilly first thing. Don't mind that though as long as is dry.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It’s a drizzly day here today , but I slept reasonably well last night ….for me.That being said , I’ve not done an awful lot today , just changed sheets and pillowcases , washed, cleaned kitchen and done a bit of dusting . I hope everyone else is having an equally lazy Friday .

Mollie , glad you are enjoying your job ….it’s very rewarding , isn’t it .I worked part time at uni when I was doing my phd …I loved working with the students .I enjoyed Woodworking last night ….like you say , it’s nice now we are getting to know the contestants more .Will you be joining us for Masterchef next week too ?Hicky , it’s nice that you and Mrs H can talk via WhatsApp ….and I hope she can make it home again this weekend  . Yes , I got my grandsons card in the post , and yesterday I managed to get some cash back in a local shop , cos both cash points were out of order .

Not done much today, it sounds like a war zone outside, had bacon, eggs and toast for brekkie, had a few chocies in the day, had a cottag pie for tea, just watching the Opal hunters, been watching F1 and again at 8:45, and the weekend.

Dont know if Mrs H is coming home tomorrow, heard nothing, not sure if there is anyone to take her back if she comes home.

My eyes seem about the same as last month, they arent going to get any better, but the glasses did make a difference which i'm pleased about.

Glad you slept a bit better Baz, it does make a difference, it took me so many weeks before i found a way i could sleep in hospital, and that was only because one of the other patients, a very helpful one told me what to do.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Overcast and cold here today . I had an indifferent night , and my sciatica is playing up , so I’ve not done much today ….just some washing and a bit of hoovering. Aside from that I’ve had a nice piece of poached salmon and lounged about on the sofa .I hope you are all having a nice , relaxing , Sunday too .

Mollie , I hope you’re having a nice weekend , and that your cough isn’t bothering you so much now. Did you watch Gogglebox on Friday? Are you going to join us for Masterchef tomorrow (Monday ) Hicky , the fireworks were horrendous around here too ! Some of them sounded like bombs going off !Glad your eyes are no worse , and that Mrs H mads it home today .

sorry your sciatica is playing up. How long have you had it for and does it wake you at night? Hope it improves soon.

I didn't bother with Goggleobox this week, as I think it was a celeb one? No thanks I won't do Materchef, as I am not so keen on the cooking shows apart from Bake Off.  Maybe its because I am veggie, so don't really like the fish/meat bits. I am really enjoying our woodwork show though, so I will see you for that. Do you and the gang watch I'm a Celeb, not long now til that starts.

I am watching Antiques Roadshow tonight. How nice you got to work with the students when you were at Uni. As you say, it is rewarding working with the young students.

Lovely sunny day here today, managed to spend some time sitting in the garden reading and went for a walk down the lane, lots of sheep and fed the cart horses some bruised apples we had. I still get a bit breathelss when walking, so have to take my time.

Son has been rehearsing all day for a show called Elf the Muscial based on the film. So we are looking foward to seeing that soon

Thats bad news if your sciatica is playing up Baz, does it affect your sleeping?

Mrs H didn't come home at all the weekend, haven't been told why yet, i assume she wasn't well enough, haven't heard from her or SIL which is strange, i know she had no-one to take her back but i think she could have arranged that.

You know i sleep on my right side, vertually flat with 1 pillow, well one of the other chaps in the room told me to lower the head of the bed to flat, put one pillow up by the headboard then put a pillow to the left to rest my head on, it worked fine but of course i had to wait till all the nurses had finished taking BP etc and given out any meds, but i did get some good sleep.

I had a baked spud for tea with prawn curry over it after it had lots of lovely butter, my lovely Kerrygold butter block seems to have disappeared.

I have been eating a lot more English food to give my rear end a rest as i think it was getting upset with my diet, ordering more Indian food tomorrow night as the freezer is very low now, but it sure lasts as 1 meal last 2 days.

I get breathless walking, so take a walking stick now, i use it to rest against while i get my breath back.

Hope your son doesn't catch anything while rehearsing this time, how is your daughter these days.
