Afternoon Mollie and Hicky. Bit of a momentous day, eh  .

Chez Baz it’s business as usual . I didn’t sleep very well , but I still went for a walk , and managed just under 2kms again today Apart from that I’ve cleaned kitchen , dusted , done  a load of washing , and fed birds . Bacon chops for  lunch and now I’m watching Law and Order . I hope you are both  having a good day , whatever you are up to.

Mollie , glad your son is feeling better Yes,  there will be threads for both programmes . Jewellery starts Tuesday at 8 , Sewing Wednesday at 9. My friend is going to take me although I had to change the day,  cos she was working on the day of the original appointment ....but it’s only delayed by one day ,so..... Hicky, glad your hospital appointment went well yesterday , and that you got home ok. Well done with the chess . Oh ,and if you want to get rid of your Easter eggs I’ll give you my address and take the sugar hit for you .

Well , providing the schedule goes back to normal , it will be Gogglebox and the Circle final for me tonight ...no Masterchef or GBM though as bbc is wall to wall Duke of Edinburgh . Have a good evening both . Take care l

Baz

Evening Baz.

My puter has packed in, in went caput last night, think its the power supply but with my eyes i dont stand a chance, i'm on the dreaded laptop, had to put all my links back in as they went when i installed win 10 last year.

Sorry you didnt sleep much, such a blow.

Not a bad day here warm enough and sunny some wind, havent got the wether tab on yet, had mushrooms and bacon for brekkie for tea had sliced of cod or haddock in flour abd batter, wow, love it, gave Mrs H a piece, she loved it.

The big screen wont work off this laptop, while trying it came up and said it cant display on another screen.

Talking about easter eggs, Mrs H gave me half of one of her eggs and 3 choc bars,it is mounting up.

Yes, i noticed the Duke had taken over the TV, RIP HRH Prince Philip, hes had a good innings hasnt he.

I will see if i can record the circle final, as darts on 7 till 10 again.

Stay safe, have a good evening and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

sorry you didn't sleep so well, but well done getting out for a nice walk. That will do you good.

Glad to see you have 2 discussions coming up for the Sewing and Jewellery.

That's good you got to sort the day out so your friend could give you a lift.

Thankfully Gogglebox is still on tonight. We need at least one light hearted tv show to watch tonight.

Hicky

pity you missed out on your gardening yesterday due to your eyes still recovering. That's good it wasnt as bad as last time though.

Oh dear at you cutting down on choc, I try too but at weekends I reckon a bit of what you fancy does you good, so with what MrsH gave you too, sounds like you have plenty to last.

How annoying your pc has packed in. HOpe you can get if fixed.

Did you manage to get in the garden today?

Yes true, HRH Prince Philip certainly had a good innings. Poor Queen will be broken hearted after all these years, bless her. RIP Prince Philip.

Chilly dull day today with a few showers. Doggie enjoyed her walk and we took her to the pet shop, she loves that as it is the only shop she can go into and it is full of doggie food smells.

Had pizza, salad and these potato balls as a change from chips.

Time to sort my washing out. Then it will be time for Gogglebox.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

This laptop is driving me up the wall, hate them.

I am going to ring up a few computer places and see what they say, i think its the power unit, i can get one for around £30 but with my eyes i cant see enough to install it, the unit has a special fuse but i would have to take the unit out and its got loads of cables attached, not sure if anyone would be interested.

I just went to the summerhouse as i was spanding so much time trying to get all my website links working and changing the colour scheme so i can see the pages.

I can imagine doggie enjoying the food smells, h=she can smell what we cant anyway.

Never heard of potato balls, where they frozen, dont they fall apart when you heat them.

I was hoping to use my computer screen with the laptop but it wont work with ther built in graphics.

I have got most of my sites on now, 12 anyway, a member on the ds site showed me a Greek bread with very little sugar, 1 tsp.

Just watching the darts tonight, have recorded the cirle final.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slept ok and had a good day.

Not a bad day really, 8c sunny with a gentle breeze.

Had my usual saturday brekkie, and for tea did cajun roast rabbit.

My plum and cherry tree came today via yodel, got them planted as well.

I have put the watering soaker rings that are in the greenhouse tubs 6" down as they should be.

Was hoping the replacement raspberry canes would come, but.

Vacuumed inside the computer case, did some cleaning with some wipes yesterday.

Using the lappy for now, i only used to use it if we went on holiday, seldom used it at home.

My lad in Oz was showing me, his crypto holding was on $1,500,000 AUD, he took $105,00 out to pay some existing bills, probably on his portfolio of properties, these are figures out of this world.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

it must be so hard for you not being able to see well enough to try and fix your pc. HOpe you can get it sorted out somewhere.

Its good you gave yourself a break in the summerhouse after trying to sort all links and colours out.

Yes the potato balls are frozen and do not fall apart because they have some flour mix over them. They were a nice change from chips.

Did you manage to make your Greek bread today?

I made some of my oat crunch as it is easy to make and very enjoyable.

Hope you are enjoying your darts.

It was cool with the odd shower here today, so didn't sit outside. Managed a walk inbetween the showere though. We didn't see 2 of the lambs at first, only their mum lying down, then my son noticed they had found a hole in the middle of the field and were hiding in that.   Must have felt cosy to them, they peeped out their heads to looks at us, then hid again when they realised we were boring. The farmer has moved the cows down too, so there were about 12 of them in the next field to the lambs. Fascinating how they are all different patterned fur and colours. There were also 4 horses in the next field.

My washing only part dried, then MrM bought it in as a shower came.

I had sweet potato mini rissoles, chips, peas, sweetcorn for tea.

Watching the new singing show on bbc1 now, quite good. Then the drama at 9pm.

Hope Baz slept better last night.

What shocking news about Nikki Graham passing away. So young, I saw her mum on This Morning the other week saying she had been in a care place because she had been struggling with this anorexia. She was my fave BB contestant in her series and I also enjoyed her on Canadian BB. RIP sweet Nikki.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I have a feeling you didnt see my last post which was earlier.

Yes, after building dozens of computers having to get someone to look at it is dreadful really, i do a lot of things by feel these days, depending on the light level, but have so little central vision that i often have to look to one side to see something, then i know where it is.

The weather was too good to bake, plus the trees came and i was working in the greenhouse dropping the watering rings into the tubs as they should be under the roots, i cnt really do that in the raised beds, the compost in the big tubs was nice and damp, pleased with that. f

The darts is Monday to friday, but they have a week off so it starts again on the 19th.

That reminds me, i got sweetcorn on my shopping, i tend to forget about it when its in the fridge as i have 9 clear plastic containers on the top 3 shelves, out of sight out of mind.

Yes, Nikki Grahame died aged 38 friday Morning, friends had raised £59k for her as she was so sick, she has suffered all her life with the eating dissorder, RIP Nikki.

I saw the end of the singing show, shows how easy it is to kid people.

Enjoy the evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky. I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday . I had a so so night , and still feel a bit emotionally fragile , but it’s a sunny day here, which means I’ve done more than I did yesterday ....which wasn’t  difficult . I have hoovered , cleaned kitchen and bathroom, turned the sheet , washed , ironed , fed birds,  and anti bac’d the M&S delivery. I had a piece of steak for lunch , and have a cream slice for tea time . Now I’m catching up on last weeks Midsomer Murders.

Mollie , those potato things look (and sound )yummy .We had rain , snow and hail yesterday , but it’s very spring like today . I hope it is where you are . It must be lovely seeing the lambs .Very sad about Nikki Graham....such a waste . I hope you can join us for Jewellery and Sewing .Hicky , I am sorry to hear about your computer ....I hope you can get it fixed soon .My laptop broke many years ago , and I never bothered to get another one , I just post (and do everything  else ) on my IPad .Wow, at your sons finances....that’s very impressive .

Well, I am not sure what I’m watching on TV tonight , I’ve not consulted the listings yet .But I hope you have a good evening , whatever you are doing . Stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you sleep wasnt too bad, trying to shut the mind off is harder than you think, it just doesnt want too, could do with an off switch.

It was cool here but sunny and that will do me, some breeze but not bad.

Had the rest of the cajun rabbit for brekkie, had rib beef for tea, just cooked and had a few slices, will convert the leftover to sizzling cajun beef later in the week as going to do some mac n cheese with all this cheese i got.

Did a lot of tidying in the summerhouse, loads of jars etc, now in the recycle bin.

Am going to get loads of tubs down the garden moved over 2ft they dont get the early sun because they are too close to the fence, 10 need moving as there are 2 rows.

Ooooh, love cream slices, so long since i've had one, dont know if you can order them online.

I'm sure my lad is hoping to retire this year, but he doesnt know where to settle so is thinking of going to loads of places/countrie to see what is best, he likes Cairns, we all went there but its not very cheap to live, whereas a lot of countries are a lot cheaper.

Not sure whats on tv, was watching 24hrs in A&E last night.

I'm hoping my computer can be fixed, this lappy is a nightmare, have to press 2 keys to refresh as F5 is a function key.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

both

Baz

sounds like you have been busy despite feeling a bit fragile. Hope you sleep ok tonight and enjoy your Midsomer Murders. Sounds like you enjoyed your lunch.

We too have had a bit of snow and a bit of hail here today, mixed with a few blasts of sun.

Its the great Line of Duty tonight, so expect you will go for that too.

Hicky

yes I think we posted the same time last night.

No wonder your son can take early retirement with those holdings. Anyone who had put into crypto has done extremely well.

Hope your plum and cherry trees do well.

I bet it was warmer in your summerhouse, so nice to do some tidying in there today.

Fingers crossed you can get that computer sorted quickly.

Quite cool and snowy on and off here today. The 6 lambs legs are getting stronger. They were running around the fieild today, especially when a train came past, they soon ran back to their mum.

Too cold today for the doggie to go far, so she just had a quick walk.

I had mash potato, mushy peas and a slice of granary bread for tea, with salad cream. Followed by my caramel ice cream.

Watching the Happy Campers caravan park on C5 now, then looking forward to Line of Duty.

Have a good evening both

doggie is lying on both my feet again right now.

xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The Crypto figures arent in his plans, they are just a bonus and of course can disappear anytime.

The new trees are pretty small, will be amazed if they get any fruit this year but they look nice, getting some buds on the outside grape vine.

Its about 20c in the summerhouse if the sun is out, very nice, quite a lot to sort out as i have all the  back wall in that plastic shelving that comesnto bits, put 4 corner posts in then add a shelf then do the same again, but stuff falls down the back.

Mrs H wants the wheelie bins putting behind the big back gate, its so you can drive through if you wanted, but a long way from te road, i can take the bin store to pieces, she wants to put it in a skip when she orders one in a couple of weeks.

Had full sun all day here, even had some swings on the swing seat.

I think i'll do some mac n cheese tomorrow to use some of the 5 types of cheese i bought, and also have a crossman cheese sauce.

Just turned onto campers on 5+1

Doggie not soft, you are trapped, dogs arent soft.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept well?

Started to post and tea arrived, booked delivery takeaway as had a busy day, got Singapore chop suey.

9c Sunny with a gentle breeze love it like this to get in the garden.

Rang computer man early and took the case to him, thought it was the power unit, its rather complex with tons of leads at different voltages, within a couple of hours he rakg, it was the power unit, he will fit 1 for me and back up the hard drive pictures, cost £75, should get it back Wednesday as tomorrow is busy for Mrs H.

Rang gardener, he was here in a couple of hours, he did all the jobs i had planned for him, he is so good, i had mentioned about staining the decking with stuff Mrs H bought last year, she did 80% but her hands are bad, later he started working on it, he stayed till 6pm he did 25% so very pleased with that.

Mrs H has been changing the handles on the kitchen units from a flat bent silver to a nice round type black, screws awful, not designed for electric scredriver, Mrs H stripped loads but we managed to use some that came out,and if you use a normal screwdriver its fine, screws may be cheap steel.

I also took to bits the wheelie bin shed from the side of the house on the drive, that was a challenge when you cant see the screws, got it down anyway, got Mrs H to give me a hand, a lot of good wood though.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Hicky x

Sounds like MrsH's bin plan has been keeping you busy. It should be handy though if she can drive straight through. What are you going to do with the wood?

That's a nice change to have a takeaway, bet you enjoyed it.

So glad the weather means you can carry on doing stuff in your garden. It has been dry here too today, but mostly cloudy and quite cool, but don't mind as it was dry.

That's good you found a guy to fix your computer, I know you are finding it hard without it, and lucky you managed to get the gardener to do the work for you too.

Went our usual wallk today, the lambs grow so quickly, nice to see them running around now. The carthorses were in the next fieild and there is a little stream next to the field and we saw a mummy duck with 4 baby duckings following her. So cute.

Had freid onions, mushrooms and melted cheese on a bagette for tea.

Going to watch the new drama on itv next. Just watched Corrie that they postponed from Friday.

Hope you both sleep well.

Goodnight xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

She didnt want the bin store moving to use the drive, the garage is full so the drive has nowhere to go, other than a massive gate, she just got bed up with it, she wants shutters instead of blinds, she has changed all the kitchen handles, what next, the wood will go in a skip as she wont put it in the car.

The Singapore meal was very tasty indeed, Mrs H had fish and chips and 2 chop suey rolls, and i had to tell them she wants ho chips not cold ones, and they were hot.

Very pleased about the puter, no good me messing around, i can even see a screw.

My lad in Oz was unlucky the other day, one of the future crypo currencies was on off, he got $10k USD worth and was following, it shot up during the  week, but he missed some info that said he had to confirm something and he didnt know till too late, his holding had gone to $1m USD but because he hadnt confirmed it he missed out on the $1,000,000 bonus, his other holdings went up $1,900,000 AUD the other night, but the tax in Oz on it is 50%.

I love to see the ducks following the parents, so lovely.

My Mac n Cheese had to take a back seat as i didnt have time.

Your baggette sounds tasty, yummy.

I'm watching outback opal hunters and just realised its being recorded.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Oh, forgot to say, had a vid call from Oz this morning as he was away at the weekend staying with some of his Mrs's relations.

He usually waits till monday as its awkward when away in someone elses place.

Hicky

Afternoon Darnies. It’s even mostly sunny here today ....and not too chilly. I had a rough night, but got my rear into gear and went for a walk this morning ....managed two and a half kms before my ankle started swearing at me !Apart from that , I’ve done two loads of washing , cleaned kitchen , fed birds , rescued the bins , and did some pruning in the back garden . ....so not a totally wasted day. I had a nice pork chop for lunch , and that’s me done for the day .I hope you are all having a good Tuesday ,whatever you’re up to .

Mollie , quick reminder that it’s the new jewellery making contest tonight at 8. Your walks sound wonderful ....so much lovely nature ....all I get to do is basically walk around the estate . Has your son gone back to uni yet ? By the way , if you. ( or Hicky ) have been following Masterchef , the final has been rescheduled for 8 o’clock tomorrow , just before Sewing Bee .Hicky , glad you managed to get your computer fixed .My gardener came and mowed the lawns on Monday ....he does them every two weeks ....and he’s going to get me some bedding plants , and a couple of hanging baskets at the end of the month.

Well, it’s Jewels and then Grand Designs for me tonight . I hope you both have a good evening , and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry you didnt have a good nights sleep, you need to be careful with the ankle, i think shorter walks would allow you to get it stronger as it is telling you.

It was quite nice here, had sun all day although forecast said rain which didnt materialise.

I managed to build up the new pipework for the big tubs outside, and linked them up to the 4mm pipes from the watering rings in each tub, i tested it all as well.

Had 4 soft boiled eggs for brekkie, for tea made a mac n cheese with 4 strong cheeses i got.

The computer man rang, i told him i couldnt make it today will see him tomorrow, i will get the cash for him before i go to the dentist.

The man from the shutter company came, Mrs H knows lots of people he knows as he only lives 3 miles from where her mother lives.

Hanging baskets are great, but you need to make they are lined with moss or some other water retentive material, also you need auto watering or they can take a lot of time up as the sun can dry them out so quick.

As you know,i dont have grass, unless its fake, cant see the point in cutting it all year then is can get flooded or soggie, with fake grass it is maintenance free, grass makes a mockery of a picture because a picture has the object to be looked at whereas a lawn is a green patch of nothing with maybe a border, what sense does that make, to me it makes none, Mrs H wanted grass so i settled for 4cm thick fake turf, and its very good.

If a lawn was good you would have it on a picture on the wall, how strange would that look.

Stay safe and have a good evening.

Hicky

  both xxx

Baz

sorry you had a bad night but its good you got out for a walk, don't overdo it though, you don't want to set that ankle problem off.

Son is back at Uni on Monday and looking forward to it.

Didn't make it to the jewellery show as Corrie is on, the one that was cancelled on Friday. What do you think of it? I heard a reviewer saying the judges were not as positvie with the contestants  as the Pottery or the Sewing ones were, and the presenter was not much good either. Looking forward to the Sewing as I know we like the judges on that one.

Bet your garden will look lovely after your gardner has sorted your order out. We are due a frost so I know we have to be quite careful what we plant until the frosts have gone.

Hicky

MrsH  certainly likes a few changes now and again. Don't blame her, helps make life more interesting. Is she having outside shutters like they have abroad? I think shutters look lovely.

Thats good you enjoyed your take away and MrsH's chips were hot.

Gosh your lad's holdings sound very complicated. Shame his missed out this time.

Nice you heard from your son. Where are his wife's relatives he stayed with ?

We too had a dry day too, just a shower tonight, but we got a nice rainbow too. Let's hope the dry spell continues so you can carry on getting work done in your  garden.

HOpe you get on ok at the dentist and the computer man can fix it for you.

Had our usual walk, the lambs were playing and running around.

Had a nice salad and brie wrap with cranberry sauce, very nice.

No choccy or sweet treat today though, trying to stop sweet stuff Mondays to Fridays. The belly has grown too much over lockdown.

Watching Corrie, then the Syndicate on bbc1. it has been a good series.

Goodnight both ,hope you both sleep well. xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The window shutters are inside, you can close the slats with a slider, they are white, the window shutters in Germany are fitted inside the window space as the actual window is fitted in the middle of the wall unlike ours and the German shutters are controlled fron a cord on the inside, they were first used as blackout sutters for the war, but they are still used and fitted now as security shutters, and they work.

My lads wifes relatives in Oz only live an hour away, so its pretty handy, you can walk down the garden and pick an Orange, how lovely is that.

I've more or less got to the end of the jobs now, with the help from the gardener i can start looking for jobs to do now rather than having a list of todo stuff, i can do more tidying, not very good at that mind.

The computer is fixed, he had fixed it an hour after i dropped it off with him, but i could go today to pick it up as Mrs H was working till 1.30 and the shutter man was due at 2pm and he was here 2 hous chatting.

I've had no chocolate today, must be strong and resist, had an orange and i have some marinated anchovies to have now.

Just watching Stacey Dooley: Back on the Psych ward, they suree need help.

Have a good evening and stay safe, sleep well.

Hicky

Hicky

the window shutters sound lovely, you don't see them very often.

I see you have had a busy day chatting that long with the shutter man. Tha'ts nice the relatives of your son's wife only live an hour away. How lovely to be able to grow oranges.

That's brilliant the pc is fixed so quickly. He must know what he is doing.

Oh flip I managed Mon and Tues no choccie, but daughter bought me some new Hotel Choc flavours, so I tried 2 of those.... a banana one and a caramel cheesecake one.

Had Gregs cheese onion pasty with veg for tea. Very nice.

New series of Sewing Bee tonight, so hopefully will see Baz on the thread for that.

Will watch Corrie first though. Bit of sun and a few light showers today.

Have a good evening HIcky. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I'm late tonight, been busy, started with going to get some cash to pay for computer repair, then picked up the computer, then went to dentist, feller moved on lady said my teeth are fine, need a small filling but could be a risky one so legt it, then went to get hair cut, then came home and had some breakfast, then set up the computer again then got some tea, sizzling beef that was left over with some curry and rice.

It was nice today 11c with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

On the chess front, i was going to take his queen on move 15 but he resigned on 14, thats 4 i won in a row, we just started another game, my eyes no good but brain still a bit active.

Watching GBM then Masterchef final.

My new window panes have been dispatched to Parcelforce will try and track.

that reminds me, need to do a test on the water qty per tub, will go out and set it up.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine .I had a so so night , but managed to get a walk this morning , after my delivery arrived. Apart from that , I changed sheet , washed , ironed , hoovered, fed birds ,  and swept patio. I had two bacon chops for lunch , and now I’m firmly attached to the sofa .

Mollie , I bet your son can’t wait to get back to uni. I really enjoyed Sewing last night  ....I hope you did .....and I also enjoyed the jewellery one .I agree that one of the judges is a bit negative , but even so.....Have you been for a walk today ? If so , how are the lambs etc. Hicky , your shutters sound great ....I’ve always fancied some.Did you enjoy the MC final ? I would have watched the psych programme , but I cannot abide Stacy Dooley ! I’m enjoying GBM though .

Well it’s GBM , and then the Zoo San Diego , for me tonight .Have a good evening both , and as always ,  take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Pity your sleep isnt too good, the lack of builds up.

It was not bad here with 12c sunny with a gentle breeze.

Had some pigs in blankets, just fancied them, very tasty as well, always have loads of sausages and streaky bacon to make them.

My window acrylic panes cane today, managed to fit 4 of them, not easy when you cant see muchm i found a bag of 100 small plastic corner blocks that you use to secure 2 90deg sides in a cupboard, they are onoly about 40mm x 8mm and they have a 2 hole side and a 1 hole side, a can use some of my Torx screws as its easier for me when you cant see, i am fitting 1 in the middle of each side of the pane, they should have a cheap wood bead but its a noghtmare and you have to nail it with panel pins, not good for me.

Having a steak and chips for tea for a change.

I enjoyed GBM and the final of MC, how on earth they make meals like that is beyond me.

Lovely being back on the computer, we use the laptop now to rest the tablet on when we chat on vid to Oz, there is no sound on the lappy, will have to take it to bits again incase i disturbed it when i had to disconnect the battery which is buried inside after i removed 12 screws to get inside.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not a bad day again with 12c and sunny with a grntle breeze, love it.

Fitted another couple of panes in the summerhouse, doing the ones that i need first, the struggle is getting the old 1m stuff out, its brittle so just breaks, some od the silicone i sealed them with doesnt want to come off, most does though.

The gardener di more staining of the decking, almost all done now, very pleased.

I have ordered an inline water flow meter, it just goes on the tap, or you can fit it anyway you want, it can show me what 1 watering use uses or what a week etc uses, Only £22.99, from Gardena a good company.

Going to take the lappy to the computer guy next week to see if he can sort the sound out as it disappeared when i disconnected the battery to get Windows 10 to install, never had it since i took the back off to unplug the battery.

My grafted veg for the greenhouse is due mid May, the sweencorn late May, hate waiting but they only send it out when its ready to be planted out.

Have a good day, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

its good to hear you are managing to get outdoors for a walk each day now. (in addition to doing your many other normal jobs).

Yes I really did enjoy the Sewing show (and the company at the forum), they are so talented and the judges so nice. Glad you enjoyed the Jewellery one too.

Gogglebox tonight, which I know you will watch too.   Jenny and Lee still my faves.

Hicky

I see you are still doing wonders with your chess strategy.

You did well fitting 4 of the panes.

That's good you are able to enjoy your  pc again,, hope you can manage to sort out the sound on your lappy though.

I too had a busy day yesterday, went to Costco to pick up a birthday cake for son's birthday today, and caught up with some bulk buy shopping .  I was exhausted as we haven't been there for ages, and they had changed lots of things around. Plus 2 of my neighbours wanted a few things, so was searching for their stuff too. Luckily son helped me as stuff was so heavy, and MrM also had a trolley. Son's cake we chose had this pattern with his name on, it is huge for £15, so plenty to share. We chose choc cake with choc incing inside.

https://services.costco.co.uk/cake/images/cakes/27.jpg

We bought him a gaming chair as he needs a decent chair for studying and his gaming. We got this one as it has lumbar and neck support and a foot rest.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41uuRAVrQ8L._AC_.SS50.jpg

Son chose to have pizza hut takeaway for his birthday meal as we can't go out to pub yet.

We went a nice walk on the seafront, quite busy, mainly people eating fish and chips in their cars or sitting on benches drinking coffee, or like us, eating ice cream. Yum, I had my fave lime stripped one.   Breeze was quite cool but at least it was dry today.

Nearly Gogglebox time.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I won the last 4 games but this one looks like i am in trouble.

I'm just takinf it easy fitting the new panes, mostly by feel, no hurry.

Yes, we only really use the lappy on holiday as i have the desktop and o/h has her tablet, but it was handy for vid chats with Oz, but of course no good without sound, the mic is working as lad could hear us.

Happy Birthday to your son, you get a lot of cake dont you for that price.

Thats a fantastic gaming chair, i would fall asleep in that for a week.

It was nice for you to get a walk on the front with ice cream, not surprised it was busy if people have been freed and are unrestrained.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

I posted just before you Mollie, did you see my post.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky. Second jab done .No side effects , so far ....unlike my poor son who had a whole raft of them .Sunny day here , but quite chilly ....and it’s clouded over a bit now . My friend took me for my jab so we had a good old catch up ...talked more than I have in months ....from behind our masks , obviously .Aside from that , I had a dreadful night ...when I did manage to sleep I had horrible dreams ! So I’ve not really done a lot today , just cleaned kitchen , dusted and done a load of washing . ....oh and fed the birds .I am having a nice piece of M&S steak for lunch , and that’s me done for the day ! I hope your Saturday is going well, whatever you are up to.

Mollie , belated happy birthday to your son.Wow , that’s some chair .I enjoyed Gogglebox , and, as always , Lee and Jenny cracked me up.How lovely to be able to walk along the seafront ....I’m green with envy .Hicky, sounds like you’ve been really busy .Glad you are back on your computer . I was pleased with the winner of MC ...although I’d have preferred Mike .....and I think Hywel was a worthy winner of GBM too .

Well nothing much on the tv tonight ....although I will be watching the Savoy programme.Have a lovely evening , and take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry you had a bad night but glad you got your 2nd jab, you dont normally get side effects the same day, i just had an achy arm on the second night i think, can even remember now, its good to have a natter as well and catch up.

It was rather nice here at 13c sunny and a light wind, had the salt cod, kipper, bacon and soft poached eggs for brekkie, that was lovely, just having half a kipper now as its quite a good meal.

For tea i thawed the rest of the pasta from the other day, made some cheese sauce from odd cheeses i have so it was Mac n Cheese again, very nice too.

Fitted 2 more panes in the summerhouse windows, got 9 donr, 9 to go, i'm doing the easiest first, also the ones that give me the best visability from sitting inside, to fit some i will have to move tables and all sorts.

Got the bill for the roof, it seems i didnt get an invoice i should have, they have knocked £60 off from the quote.

Mrs H has been spraying the outside matal table and seats, she was using a metal spray canister, black, she had 3 cans anyway, they look nice now.

Yes, so glad to be back on computer, will take the lappy to the man to see if he can sort the sound out, the battery is no good either, will get a new one if he can sort the sound out.

The winner of MC was fantastic, how on earth you think of neve mind make food like that is beyond me, never seen anything like it, they were all so good, not sure how you even pick a winner tbh.

The GBM was so good as well, its so hard again to pick a winner, it was just down to the marks, what else can you do.

Not sure what i'll be watching tonight, if all else fails i'll be on recording like last night.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not a bad day, cool start but ended at 12c with sunny spells, and a gentle breeze.

Mind you i didnt see many sunny spells.

Had sausages and tinned toms for brekkie and for tea i decided on having some sandwiches with tomato and crab brown meat, and i had some smoked salmon trimings.

Did another pane in the summerhouse as i was busy, did a wash load and got it on the pull out wall line, and the F1 race was on this afternoon so couldnt miss that.

Must order my meds from the online patient access place, got darts on tomorrow night and all week.

Need to talk Mrs H into taking me to the computer man with the lappy .

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . Beautiful sunny day , and quite warm. I slept better last night , and my arm doesn’t hurt any more. So I’ve been catching up on all the jobs I didn’t do yesterday . I went for a walk before breakfast .....stick my airpods in and managed 3kms...and no grumbles from my ankle .Aside from that I changed sheets, washed, ironed , fed birds , got bin ready for collection, and did some more in the garden . I’ve just had some yummy M&S pork chops for lunch , and , apart from putting bin out later, that’s me done for the day lI hope you’re having a nice sunny day too .

Mollie , I hope you are ok ....and enjoying some nice sunny weather .Hicky, glad you got some money knocked off your roofing bill.I’ve got to order my meds too ...thanks for the reminder . It’s the north east region on GBM this week .

Well it’s Jaimie Oliver , and Lucy the Human Chimp for me tonight .Have a good evening both of you , and stay safe l

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slep a bit better, great having a 3kms is fine, dont overdo it as it could put you back some.

Glad the side effects from the jab had subsided, thats one good job done and out of the way for new.

It was rather warm here at 16c Sunny and just a gentle breeze i was made up, couldnt even sit on the swing seat for long.

Rang about the replacement raspberry canes i'm waiting for, delivery before end of month.

took the lappy to the computer man to see if he can find why it has no sound.

Got a test from Lloys Paharmacy, my meds are ready, hope Mrs H can remember to pick them up in the morning from work.

Rand the Roofcare people and told them i never got a bill to pay.

Fitted 2 more panes in the summerhouse.

Had a vid call from Oz this morning, the baby was in the little walker playing with the toys on the front, so good to see them all.

Had 3 fried eggs on toast for brekkie, for tea had a dressed crab with some extra brown crab meat, buttered some cream crackers and had thick crab on those, have got more smokes salmon trimmings to finish off as well.

I've been watching the vine growth in the greenhouse, the vine grows so quick but i want to control where it grows.

Just watching Scrap Kingd, a good program, have got the darts on tonight 7 till 10 and on all week, 5 nights.

I'll record Food Unwrapped, love that program.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

that's good you slept better and feel well. Your ankle is doing really good if you managed a 3km walk and it was fine. I see you have been as busy as ever.

Did you see Line of Duty last night? It was brilliant, what a cliffhanger! I think I'll watch the monkey show too tonight.

Hicky

glad to see they sorted the roof bill out and life is easier for you now you have your pc back again. Hope he sorts your lappy sound out too.

Well done to MrsH spraying the garden furntiture. Let's hope we get plenty of nice weather for you to make good use of it. What colour is it? Do we get a photo?

yes son's chair does look good enough to sleep in, He is finding it great for his studies and gaming.

Aaaww I bet your grandson looked so cute in his walker with his toys. Let's hope its not long until you can see them again.

It was very warm here today too, just a bit of a chill in the evenings. Great, hope it lasts.

I have been so busy , didn't realise I hadn't posted for a couple of days.

Been spending a lot of time outdoors whilst its sunny.

Saturday we visited 2 different lots of friends with big families to share the huge cake and yesterday I was outdoors most of the day and looking for a comfy summer dress to wear in the garden, for all the hot weather we hope to have.

Uni son was in a panic last night as he couldn't understand some of the assignment questions and he wanted to sort some out for his return to Uni today. MrM and I tried to help last night, but we couldn't work it out. When he got into Uni it turned out, they have had to amend the work they had set at the beginning of the Uni year because of the pandemic carrying on for so long. Son was glad to see the lecturers and fellow students in person at last. The Uni was dead quiet he said as they split the students time in Uni to be a minimum. He can't go back until next Monday now.  But doesn't mind as he has had his workload clarified now.

How lovely do the spring flowers look in the sun now?

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes and i mentioned to the girl on the phone from accounts that the account name doesnt match the company name so Natwest was confused and told me so, she said yes, the account name is different and sorry nyou didnt get your bill/invoice.

It would be nice to have the lappy sound working again, its great for vid calls to Oz because it has a big screen.

The garden table and chairs are sprayed Black, think we only have 2 of the chairs, think we might have given some away to one of my lads some years ago, we have about 4 big 3 seater wooden benches so loads of seating room, i will get you a pic.

Glad you have been visiting, so strange what we can and cant do, yes, that cake would feed a lot of people, dont know how they do it for the price.

Glad your lad got tyhe uni stufff sorted, such a worry when you dont understand what you need to do, it would feel strange in uni now with all this segregation etc, no wonder it seemed quiet.

I dont really notice flowers much, i can see the yellow ones and the red ones, when they are mixed colours i dont really notice them, i'm struggling to see what flowers are on my fruit trees, cant see the flowers anyway.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok.

13c today with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Had a bacon and egg toasted sandwich, for tea made Cajun chicken wings, wow, love them.

I managed to fit 2 more panes in the summerhouse, thats 14 now, might leave the last 4 as i dont need them to see out really, the 6 in the double doors are in, the ones not fitted are all but one low down.

The water flow meter came, i had installed it within 30 mins of it being delivered, i did a 10 min test, it showed usage of 6L a minute and the test showed a usage of 60L so i have altered the timer controller to water ever other day and for 10 minutes only for now as all the 12 empty tubs arent using any, just evaporation.

forgot to pay the credit card as the phone didnt alert me, it was keeping quiet, i removed the battery and restarted and it told me i had missed 2 alerts, great.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

gosh you have done well fitting 14 panes now and installing a water flow meter so quickly.

Wha a nuisance your phone alert didn't remind you about the credit card. Will you have to pay them a penalty now?

MrsH did a good job on the garden furtniture , it looks lovely.

My "visting" friends with the cake wasn't proper visiting as we are still not allowed. It just consisted of dropping the cake off and a quick conversation in the street for the 1st friend and the 2nd friend was a meet up in a car park and a quick conversation in the car park.   At least on Monday we are due to have outdoor pubs/cafes open, so that will be lovely to have a coffee outside a cafe on the seafront. Hope the weather holds out now we have got this far.

Son was glad to be back at Uni but he said the atmosphere is not fun like it used to be. No cafe for them to chat in, only a few to a classroom , sitting over 2 meters apart and hard to even recognise each other due to wearing masks and having to be so far apart. Never mind, he said its better than not being able to go in at all.

Lovely day today , so a nice walk to see lambs, horses, and the chickens and beautiful cockerels were right next to the fence so we had a good view of them. A small cockerel jumped  on one of the hens, and the big cockerel went up to them and dragged him off her by the scruff of his neck and chased him off! A case of "get lost, she's all mine!".

Had a brie/cranberry/salad wrap with chips for tea. And my fave Magnum ice lolly for afters.

Going to watch the light hearted drama called The Syndicate tonight.

Hope Baz had a good day.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, at least i know how much water the system uses so i can have more control.

I have done all the panes i need for now, if i get bored i could move tables around and do more.

My mobile plays up now and again, sometimes it depends how i turn it off when i get up, if i turn it off then unplug it, it wont come back on, i either have to wait half and hour or take the battery out, the phone comes on but the screen doesnt, i might have to pay a penalty, cant be helped will have to put the payment date on the kitchen calendar.

Nice to see the lambs and horses etc in the field, yes even hens etc have to follow the rules.

With the weather like it is i dont even feel like ice cream etc, still in winter clothes, i'm sure last year at this time i had changed to summer attire.

Thats interesting, something i've never had a brie/cranberry/salad wrap with chips.

Watching darts at the mo, will have to look what else is on in case i want to record a program.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . Cloudy and chilly here today . I slept quite well ...for me ...last night .I didn’t go for a walk , cos i was expecting a shopping delivery , my meds , and another delivery  (all of which finally arrived ok ), so I stayed in and caught up on some housework ....hoovering , dusting , cleaning , and washing . I also fed the birds, emptied the bins , and had some yummy bacon chops for lunch. That’s me done for the day now . I hope everyone else is having a good Wednesday , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , I’m glad your son is back at uni .....even if things are exactly back to normal for them .I’m sure it will be lovely for you to be able to visit cafes etc...although it will still be outside and socially distant . Are you looking forward to sewing tonight ? Hicky , wow , you’ve been busy .........and you say I do too much .I think you are right about it being warmer this time last year ....not that I saw much of it at the time ....I was still in the sleeping on the sofa abs washing in the sink stage .

Well , it’s GBM and Sewing for me tonight .I hope you both have a lovely evening . Take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept better, glad your deliveries came ok, hate waiting in for any delivery, i'm sure at this time last year i was doing my brekkies in the Gazebo on the BBQ, this cold start to the day is really annoying.

It was 14c here with light cloud and a gentle breeze, sun came at 5.30pm.

Had a bacon sandwich for brekkie with Nando,s hot Mayo over it, tasty.

Just checked on all the plants and the vines, all seems ok, the gardener came and put another coat of stain and some areas that only had 1 coat, he is so fast, anyway, paid him, Mrs H very pleased, too much for us to do.

I gave him the plants i had grew for him, 14 sweetcorn, 21 peas and a load of lettute growing in a 9cm pot, have other plants but not ready yet.

I've seen a lot of action around one of the 2 bird boxes i put up at the end of winter, i can see both boxes while lounging on my recliner desk chair in the summerhouse, i couldnt tell what is going on, the other day i saw a little bird coming to and fro to the box, today i thought i saw one come out as another had been toing and froing, not sure when they build a next or when they lay eggs.

I have the darts tonight again, great.

For tea i had a slice of salmon, i sliced it into 3 slices so it would cook quick on the hob, also had a big prawn and half a pack of small ones.

Put the grey recycle wheelie bin out, had to put some stuff in a neighbours as ours was full, he puts it by mine and i asked him this morning if it was ok.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

glad you slept ok and your deliveries turned up ok.

Sounds like you have been a busy little bee again.

Yes I am looking forward to seeing the Sewing tonight and joining you and the others on the forum.

Hicky

Yes sounds like you are best going to the old fashioned method of writing stuff on the calendar as your phone reminders keep letting you down. I still use the calendar method, MrM's reminder on his phone has also been playing up lately.

Yes it is chillier at nights than it was this time last year, but can't complain as we have had plenty of sun here again today, mixed with a bit of cloud now and again.

Its lucky you have found such a good gardener who can do the jobs you need so quickly. That's nice of you to grow so many plants for him, bet he was pleased with all that amount you gave him.

How exciting to think you may have some nesting birds. The birds have shown no interest in ours.

We fed the horses again today,  my last delivery had 4 bruised applies, so Morrisons gave me a refund for all 4 of them. They were big apples, so the horses put the whole apple in their mouth, easily bit if in half , dropped one half and ate it one half at a time.   The little lambs were all lying down in the sunshine.

I enjoyed reading my Womans Own mag in the sun on the swingchair. MrM bought me a 3 month magazie subscription for my birthday.

Tv time now, enjoy your darts HIcky.

Have a good evening both .

M

Evening Mollie.

I agree, a remonder useless if it fails to remind, might as well delete the reminder app, mind you, its not the app, its the phone but either way it doesnt help me.

Yes, the gardener is very good, and very fast, such a good worker, i just like growing plants and had so many seeds left from last year, gave him a load last year, they were pretty successful.

Glad you managed to feed the horses, those bruised apples did you a favour, dont blame the lambs enjoying the sun, not much of a cold wind when lying down.

Nice to be able to get on the swingchair an have a read, i cant read outside as i can see so little, and in the sun, i cant see anything, not even whats on my phone.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky
