Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, great news, you do so much in a day, you are like a Duracell operated Robot.

It was 11c today with rain that never arrived, but a moderate breeze.

I was at the eye hospital for my Laser treatment on the bad eye, it was to remove debrix from behind the Lens, it may help the sight but not expected to.

Had bacon and tomato on toast for brekkie and for tea cooked a small piece of turbot fillet with chips and curry sauce.

I could have done with spending today in the garden but that didnt happen, hopefully i can do it tomorrow as the forecast seems ok.

About the summerhouse, mine was only a cheap one, it had cheap window material, cheap roof material, compressed rubbish, not wood, the floor was wood and the walls are t&G so ok, the felt was cheap rubbish, it only cost about ÂĢ750 but now a similar one is about ÂĢ1,500 but with better window material and a wooden roof, if you find one online you can get it built for you as an extra, there are thousands of them some sites let you build what you want you just select the boxes and sizes or materials.

Mine is 3m x 3m and you could put chairs Sofa tablew etc no problem.

Just heard it was 17.4C in Cardif wow.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

that's good you slept ok , so have been as busy as usual.

It cleared up here quite quickly too, so after a little walk with the family I was able to sit on the swingchair with my book for awhile.

We seem to be getting more bird visitors lately. Are you? The most quiet time was when it was the official bird watch time,so I didn't have much to report to them! Typical!

My aches have been driving me mad the last couple of days, so have to keep moving chairs, taking ibuprofen and using my TENS. Hopefully it will ease as its better today than yesterday. Son a lot better than he was thanks. Still on the tablets another week though, and has to ring doc and get another blood test then. How are you and your poorly ankle? Does it still ache at the end of the day?

Didn't realised it was Bake Off tonight, so didn't join you, because I watch the Dog Show on C5. Hope you enjoyed it.

Hicky

Thanks for the description of your summerhouse, it sounds great, in fact your whole garden sounds delightful. So lucky you managed to get a home with such a big garden.

Hope the treatment you are getting for your eyes does help settle things for you. True it is best to give any treatment they offer you a go to see if it helps our problems.

I watched the GP show, then the Dog show, he is marvellous how he has re-train all sorts of dog problems. It is re-train the owners rather than they dog though.   Then I am watching the DNA show after, it was really amusing last week.

Not surprised it got to over 17degrees here, it was so warm in the sun, I put my sundress on to sunbathe this afternoon. Not bad at all for this time of year. HOpe it continues.

It was BOGOF night at Pizza Hut so I treated the family to 2 large pizzas. They had KFC gravy topping with chicken bites flavour and I had the margerita with nacho cheese crust. Delcious.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I'll send you a pic of my Summerhouse tomorrow if i remember so you can see.

The eye Laser treatment seems to have cut some og the glare as they expected, i can see slightly better with it but couldnt really manage just using the left eye as i cant read with it which is a problem if my right eye failed.

I saw the GP show, always interesting and informative.

Glad you enjoyed the sun, it was pretty warm by you, i couldnt do anything outside as i didnt want to mess my clothes up as i was at the clinic by 2pm and when i go back i couldnt see anything because of the eye drops so i lost the afternoon, not to worry.

That was good getting BOGOF from Pizza Hut, it saves you a few bob, i did the fish and chips with curry as i could see good enough to manage that, then i had an orange and banana and some marinated Anchovies and some mini choc bars, i noticed last night i have only 2 cream eggs left, think Mrs H has been robbing them, will have to order more, she used to eat so many of my small packs of salted peanuts that i had to order an extra box so i could get some, but i ordered a box of big 200g bags to save eating the small 50g bags.

Yes, that summerhouse on your link is so good, 44mm log cabin, you would get a lot in there, a bit over the top mind, you could get a super one for half that price, but as we know, you get what you pay for.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All,

Hope you all slept well and had a good and safe day.

10c with sunny intervals, sun arrived late at 2.30pm which was too late for me as it brought a maderate wind.

Had fried mushrooms to use them up with bacon pieces and a round of toast, for tea made Bolognese with Tagliatelle, so yummy, used Dolmio.

Had a delivery, the big bag of concentrated organic farmyard manure and a bag of potting compost, and the driver managed to take them all the way from his van down to the greenhouse, which is quite a way, the big bags were in cardboard boxes, i would have had to get the porters trolley out to move them.

Done my shopping list, Sainsburys deliver in the morning, just some fruit, mushrooms, bacon, eggs, choc bars, kippers, cauli, creme egg & black pud.

Need to make some more scones as well, not today mind.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . A grey , and quite chilly day here . I slept ok ...for me.......so I’ve been quite busy today . I’ve washed, cleaned , emptied bins , fed birds , done some more pruning back in the garden , and sorted out tomorrow’s M&S delivery . Aside from that , I’ve paid my credit card bill .....oh joy ! I hope your day isn’t as costly as mine .

Mollie , I hope your aches and pains are a bit better today .My ankle still gives me gyp most days  ....especially when it’s a damp. I think I would have benefitted from some physio , and some outpatient consults , but in the grand scheme of things it’s not too bad . I’m glad your son is still improving . Shame you missed Bake Off , it was a Celeb one and quite funny .Hicky , how are your eyes today? I love black pudding ....I might put some on my shopping delivery next week .I love the GP show ....and like you say , it’s very informative .

Well it’s Masterchef for me tonight ....then there is naff all on .Have a good evening though ...whatever you are doing ...and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, a miserable day here really at 10c but cloudy all day till 4pm with a moderate breeze.

The Sainsburys delivery arrived at 9am, good job Mrs H was up, we got notified at 7am but i was asleep when the message came on my phone, Mrs H got an email.

Had sausage and egg on a toasted sandwich, midday i had some smoked salmon trimmings and for tea made salt and pepper wings.

The wind with no sun made it too uncomfortable to work outside, hoping for a day with little or no wind.

Got the credit card to pay in the morning, got the water bill in, i find it hard to believe we have used 33,000 Litres of water, get massive billd but water is only ÂĢ1.82 for a 1,000 Litres, when you add the cost of the standing charges and the cost of water removal and charges and the cost of sureface water charges etc it all adds up

Thinking of making some more scones tomorrow but forecast says thick cloud with a gentle breeze so i could be outside instead.

My eye they Lasered does seem a little better, not so cloudy but no central vision so cant read or type using it, untill i can do that i cant really take a chance on getting the right eye cataract done, and i really need new glasses but dont want to get new ones till my eyes stableise as glasses arent cheap, i might just have to get some cheap ones as o think the ones i am using are making life harder.

Spring on Saturday.

Have agood day, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

that is good you slept ok and managed to have a productive day.   I too hate credit card days, especially when I think I haven't spent much, but when it arrives, I have!!

Pity the timing of your injury meant you missed out on proper physio due to covid. But at least you are managing to do most things and plod on. I guess it was such a nasty injury you will need to rest it when it aches.

Glad you enjoyed Bake Off. I seem to have endless interruptions trying to watch tv lately..eg doggie or helping son with his assignment and tonight I have a food deivery. So I am ususually on catch up.What a great invention that is!

Hicky

that is good the laser did what it was meant to and reduced the glare in your eye and that it is not so cloudy now. I can understand you wanting to wait for your eyes to settle before forking out for glasses. Have you looked online? I beleive you can still use your prescription for your eyes but buy lenses cheaper frames online.

that was very helpful of the delivery man to carry the compost all the way round for you.

how dare MrsH rob you of your creme eggs... looks like you will need to increase your order.

Don't forget to send me the photo of your summerhouse. Yes the Costco one is lovely, they put it all together for the price.

We too were shocked with the high cost  of our water bill this time. Over ÂĢ400! MrM tells me they sold the water company off to the French, so of course they can charge us what they want now.

Another lovely warm day here today. My washing dried on the line, had a nice walk, and sat on the swingchair with my book. MrM has been sorting some of our junk in the garage, so he went to the tip. Hate to wait over an hour there, it was so busy!

Had some sweet potato nuggets and veg for tea.

Watching the couple at the French manor, now watching the Lewis detectvie.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I think new Varifocal glasses would help as the 2 pair i have must be well past what i really need, i assume, they even said when i got the cataract done i would need to get new glasses but after i got the new glasses the left eye went so glasses wont help that eye.

I would still have to get a new prescription wherever i get the glasses from, there is a Specsavers in the local Sainsburys so would probably use them.

I mentioned the missing eggs, when my lad came with the Mothers day stuff she game him eggs for his lads, and 1 for him and his mrs, plus some of my choc bars, so i now have got them replaced on my delivery.

Oh wow, that would be super if they buolt the summerhouse for you, such a bonus.

I forgot to get a picture of the summerhouse for you as well, must remember tomorrow.

Mrs H wants to hire a mini skip to dump our excess junk, she doesnt like going to the tips as she has to carry stuff to the right place as you cant move the car.

I have no idea how we could use all that water over the winter months but it was the same last year, but the summer months was 54,000 litres.

Sweet potato nuggets, thats a new one.

Turned on to the darts and it had boxing on, strange.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

11c today with cloud and a gentle wind, so not really too bad.

Had half of the speaciality mushrooms with bacon black pud and an egg, very tasty.

Managed to get some work done on the watering system, have got 1 of the zones all reconnected up which covers the existing fruit trees, the greenhouse and the 8 plant tubs which are for the new sweetcorn plants when they arrive.

More work to do on the raised beds systems, did some though.

The 3 new Rhubarb crowns are showing growth, pleased about that.

Made deep fried battered slices of cod fillet, made Tempura batter and fried them using the Wok.

Just had a hot x bun with Kerrygold, fantastic, only have 1 a day to spread the pleasure, when they arrive i wrap each one in clingfilm.

Its Spring tomorrow and the Census to be filed Sunday.

Stay safe, have a good evening and sleep well.

hope bifocals will help improve things for you when you are ready for them. Yes you need a prescription, but once you have that you can take or scan it to an online company for glasses and lenses. My daughter needed some for reading, so got her eyes tested locally then took the prescription to Costoc for some glasses. It will be handy for you to get your prescription form a place near Sainsburys, especially if MrsH can give you a lift.

At least your family get to enjoy your eggs, make sure you don't forget replacements so you don't miss your own treats though. My treat this weekend is a mini eggs Easter egg, I eat half the choccie egg tonight and half tomorrow, then the bag of mini eggs on Sunday, so not bad as a 99p egg gives me plenty for 3 nights.

Good idea to hire a skip, going to the tip is a nightmare now, my neigbhour also had an hour wait to get in and they don't help you empty the stuff now. Have you priced them up yet? Wonder how long you can keep them?

Yes amazing how much water we get through every day, I hate these water metres, can't believe some people had them put in by choice! I think they were tricked into believing there were cheaper. In our case, they are definately not. We didn't have one in our old house and the water bill was a lot lower than it is in this house, where there was a metre already installed before we moved in. We don't waste water, and I just paid ÂĢ430 for 6 months, what a rip off.

Kerrygold butter on hot x buns, delicous. I heard the chef on Thsi Morning say the Irish butter is the best because of how they rear the cows, on lush outdoor Irish pastures.

That sounds promising about your rhubarb.

thats nice you got in the garden, weather not bad here either, but not warm enough to go on the swingchair, never mind, hopefully lots of sunny days to come.

Oh yes Spring equinox tomorrow, that's nice, long days not far away now.

Did a lot of paperwork for accountant today, had to catch up as spent so much time in garden last few days instead of doing it. Best to take advantage of the good weather when we can in this country.

Watched Corrie, now watching Vera, and recording Gogglebox.

Had chips and breaded mozarella sticks for tea, with mushy peas.

HOpe Baz slept ok and had a good day.

Have a good evening both.

M

Evening Mollie.

Varifocals, cant stand bifocals, had them once, had to sling them as you cant play chess in them.

The Opticians in in the Sainsburys store where Mrs H works.

You get a lot of pleasure from that 99p egg, when younger i used to make the easter eggs last for months.

Mrs H is going to hire the skip, you can probably keep it for a week, but it could depend on how busy they are.

Yes, we pay less now than we did before we moved, Mrs H says it was cheaper with the meter as before they charged you whatever they wanted, we used 33 cubic meters, how many did you use, there is 5 of you at home isnt there.

Yes, Kerrygold is for my buns, fresh toast etc, it might be dearer than normal spread.

I was glad to get some more jobs done in the garden, i will test the watering system on that zone, i have 2 other zones that need work, they are both on the raised beds, each zone on a separate computer timer, as i wasnt sure if one supply could manage all the soaker hose but i have a tap between the 2 zones that i can open to see if one supply can manage.

I've been making out a preliminary list for the Fish delivery, i have salt cod in water for the morning, a kipper in the fridge and bacon and eggs for the morning, Mrs H got me kipper fillets in the shopping, you get 2 fillets in a pack so i have opened the packs and rewrapped the fillets in clingfilm and froze, they last twice the time like that.

I only had half the speciality mushrooms this morning as you get so many and they are so nice, will have the rest for brekkie Sunday.

Stay safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . I slept ok , but I’m having a bad day ....emotionally ....I hate the weekends , which is why I used to go to the spa on a Sunday ....so I’ve tried to keep busy. So far I’ve changed the bed, wrestled the duvet , washed , ironed , cleaned kitchen , emptied the bins , fed the birds and made lunch. None if it has really helped ....but at least the house is clean .I hope your Saturday is going better than mine ...and happy first day of Spring.

Mollie , did you enjoy Gogglebox ? I loved it when Jenny told Lee to put salt on his ulcer At least there was no Markle this week ! Did you save me any mini eggs ?How are your aches and pains today ...any better ?Hicky , I wear varifocals....I couldn’t get on with bifocals either . My eyes really need testing ....they’ve not been done for over a year , and I know they’ve changed ....but I am waiting until I’ve had my second jab , cos I would have to get either a bus m or a taxi to get to the opticians .

Well it’s a poor viewing night tonight ....and no doi and pottery to look forward to tomorrow . Anyway , I hope you both have a good weekend , and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

At least you slept ok, yes, the weekends must be a problem for you, keeping busy will at least pass the time more quickly.

1 year isnt long since your last eye test, do you think your eyes have changed that much in that time, if you can read and watch the tv i wouldnt worry too much.

It wasnt too bad here today with 10c and light cloud, the moderate wind was tolerable.

Had my salt fish with a kipper and bacon with sof poached ewggs, got the poacher worked out now.

Had 2 crumpets at 3pm then a nice big Plaice fillet for tea.

Got some work done outside for the watering system, the hosepipe work is all connected, just got to fit all the long pieces of the soaker hose together to finish the 5 soaker frames.

Have a good evening, the Voice Final tonight, will record it as dont really like live shows, i like to be in control of when i make a drink and visit the Loo.

stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

I think our neighbour had her skip for a week too, whch is good as it gives you time to add stuff to it.

Not sure how much water we used but I will dig out the bill to check. Makes sense a meter might be cheaper for just 2 in the house, but it certainly isn't for five people.

Your water system is so high tech. I hope you need to use it lots because that means we will be getting some good weather.

Baz

sorry you are having such a bad day. You are bound to now and again, it must be so hard for you alone and not able to go out due to lockdown. Hope you feel a bit better soon and it won't be too long unti your spa is up and running again.

Yes did enjoy Gogglebox, my 2 faves are the caravan pair again..... at when they watched Naked Attraction though.

Haven't eaten the mini eggs yet, I save those till tomorrow, but I finished the Easter egg they come with. Have you got your walnut whip with no walnut for your treat again? I too will miss DOI and the Pottery tomorrow. But will watch Midsomer Murders and the Musicals programme.

Going to watch The Voice tonight after Ant and Dec.

Today I cut a huge bramley apple into 3 big pieces to give the horses and the greedy one managed to eat all 3, even though i did throw the pieces closer to some of the other horses. I think as he is the boss they were too scared to pick up the apple incase he shoved them.

Washing dried quite well on the line despite it being dull today, it was dry though, but quite cool.

Had vegan sausage roll with mash and veg for tea and made some oaty cruch for afters.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

My water bill shows average cunsumption of water for 1 person, and up to 6 in the house so if you tell be how many cubic litres you used i can work out your bill as the other figures are standing charges or percentages, my new charge is ÂĢ166, not too bad for 6 months.

My watering system has a setting which i set for how often to water the plants so depending on the weather i can set it to water twice a day, once or ever 2 days or more depending on what rain we have had.

I was wondering about feeding the horses, cant you get them to come over so you can give it to the right one, get a stick so you can poke it into the apple piece and the horse can take it off the stick, worth a try, no good letting the same horse get all the apple.

That was handy getting your washing dried on the line, just cloudy here as well.

A vegan sausage roll, sounds so funny to me, what is in it?

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope we all slep good, i get up once in the night, and had an early vid call, well, 08.30 is early for me but cant complain it was so lovely to see them all, its getting into autumn there so cooling down.

Had the rest of the speciality mushrooms with bacon, so lovely, for tea defrosted another of the portions of beef casserole, did some cauliflower to have with it.

Got some work done outside, finished making up the sections of soaker hoses and tested one section/zone 3 that feeds the greenhouse, 3 apple trees and 2 Fig trees and 8 tubs for the sweetcorn.

The forecast looks good for next week so should be able to get it all finished.

Hope you all had a good day, stay safe and hope you did the Census, what a palaver, took ages, sleep tight.

Hicky

both xxx

Hicky

thank, that will be interesting if I look up my bill and you can work the actual figures out.

That watering system will be so handy when we get the hot sunny weather.

Good idea to try the stick with the horses next time we feed them, there are plenty of sticks down the lane.

Not sure what a vegan sausage roll is, they are new to Gregs and look just like an ordinary sausage roll with no dead animals in them though. But thinking about it, if it is vegan, no butter or dairy in the pasty too. Wasn't that keen on it, but didn't like to say no as MrM bought it for me. I prefer their non vegan cheese and onion pasties. So I'll suggest one of those next time.

What a nice start to a Sunday, a family call from the other side of the world. Is your son in the rainy part of Sydney? I heard on the news they are in a middle of a deluge.

Let's hope the weather does stay good so you can carry on getting on with your outdoor jobs.

A good day here today too, had a nice walk, and sat on the swingchair with my book. Had cheesy muffins with salad for tea.

Watching All Star Musicals now, a nice show, but i certainly don't agree with the judges scores.

Then going to watch the new series of Midsomer Murders.

Hope Baz had a better day today than yesterday.

Have a good evening both

xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

So much of the water bill is fixed charges and waste water removal, we even hey charged for rain water.

Watching Happy Campers as went on Salvage Hunters but i've seen it.

Its worth a try with the stick to try and feed the white horse or any that get bullied, it could work.

Yes, veg often is better and mor palatable when it looks like veg, in a sausage roll you cant really tell what it is, in a normal meal a lot of what they put in is to give the meal colour, in a sausage roll you cant see colour or anything so can only go my taste, and veg on its own needs some help in that roll.

Parts of Sydney are flooded out, Son is fine, no problem where he is.

Forecast looks ok for tomorrow so hoping to get on with the last of the jobs, only got 5 x 13mm pipe connections and 15 x 4mm then i can test zones 1 & 2 which control the 5 raised beds.

Cheesy Muffins, never heard of those.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Sunny , but very chilly here this afternoon  . I didn’t sleep very well last night , so haven’t felt very energetic today.I never had any washing ....so all I’ve done today is clean the kitchen , fed the birds and got the bins ready to put out  collection later . Apart from that I have spent the day with my nose stuck in a book .I hope you are having a relaxing Monday too .

Mollie, I’ve not watch Happy Campers....but might see if I can get it on Catch Up .TBH what with Masterchef , Great British Menu,Gogglebox Line of Duty , Midsomer and Gardeners World I'm having a problem fitting things in . How are you feeling ? How is your son getting on ?Hicky , I’m glad your son isn’t affected by the floods ....they look horrendous. Glad you had a nice video call with the family . How are your eyes today ? Does the sun help or hinder them ?

Well it’s Jaimie, Amazing Hotels , and 24 Hours in Police Custody for me tonight .Have a good evening , whatever you are up to. Take care

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

Sorry you didnt sleep well, glad you took it a bit easier though, i put the wheelie bin out Wednesday.

10c today with light cloud and a gentle breeze, it allowed me to get more work done outside on the watering system, managed to complete zone 1 and get it tested, but it took a few hours so gave up and left the last section so i could sort some tea out.

Had fried mushrooms, tomatoes and bacon for brekkie, for tea defrosted a beef Vindaloo and had it with rice and Lime Pickle, just had a toasted hot x bun with Kerrygold, wow.

Yes, great to get video calls from Oz, its like being in the room with them.

I saw some floods on Opal Hunters, wow, all the opal mines getting flooded, thats going to cause a problem.

My eyes are not good, left one useless, can hardly even see whats on tv with it, the right eye can see a bit in the light, the sun just makes things glare, to see 7 segment displays it needs to be dark as with being colourblind i cant really see other than black & white so colours on top of colours is a nightmare.

Watching catchphrease celebrity special, i'll just check each hour what is on, then select the best of those.

Have a good evening stay safe and sleep well.

sorry you didn't sleep so well,   so a good idea to enjoy some relaxation with a book. What are you reading at the moment?

Sunny here too, with a bit of a chilly wind, but managed to sit in the garden for a read for awhile. ...and the washing dried quite well. Doggie even enjoyed a bit of a sunbathe until the wind got too chilly for her.

Sounds like you have a lot of tv to enjoy right now, I seem to have found a few things too, mainly drama. Tonight is Unforgotten....and thanks for the reminder, I will need to record 24hrs In Police Custody, as its on the same time as Unforgotten.

Hicky

thats good to hear your son is unaffected with the horrible floods Sydney has been having. Does he live far out of Sydney?Didn't realise the opel mines were flooded, they are going to find that hard the ones who earn a living from them. Let's hope these rains stop soon for them.

The horses were in the far field today, so didn't try and apple on a stick idea yet.

They sell cheese muffins in Sainsburys and they are delicous, especially with Kerrygold butter.

Lucky the weather was ok for you to get in the garden, but best not to overdo and split the job if you have done a few hours at it.

MrM's birthday, daughter bought us a lovely afternoon tea... delivered for us from a local small shop.., plenty of choice...eg...sausage rolls, pasty, cheese and onion rolls, ham rolls, strawberries, grapes, apple, 2 large slices choc cake, doritos and dip, cheese and biccies....delcious.

Not sure about where my lad is now because he moved and i havent been to his new place, his last place was on a hill so wouldnt have flooded either.

I'll look into those cheese muffins, fancy some now.

Yes, after so long in the garden i lose the enthusiasm, i'm not good at working on my own because when i used to work i was never on my own so its not something i ever had to do and these days with my COPD it makes working quite a challenge.

Yes, that Birthday delivery is fantastic, well worth having for sure, i would enjoy that anyway.

Stay safe and have a good evening.

Hicky

Good Evening All.

Not too bad today at 11c but with cloud and a moderate breeze.

Had 4 soft boiled eggs with toast, for tea had a salmon fillet slice with some mash.

Managed to finish the watering system and test the last zone which was the other half of the raised beds which is zone 2.

Have put all the zones on auto so i'll see how it goes tomorrow, but they start at 7am with zone 1 and follow in half hour steps but the watering is set for 25 mins each zone.

Watched one of my recording of Martin Clunes last night, he was going around islands off Australia, so interesting, have 2 more to watch as well.

I started to watch the final of the voice but got bored after 10 minutes so deleted that, the same with DOI, deleted the last 2 recordings as they had props in the show, cant stand that.

I flick through the channels every hour to see what is next, if i find nothing of interest i look through my masses of recordings.

Have a good evening everyone. stay safe and sleep well.

Yes I am sure at times it gets lonely for you working in the garden, when you have been used to working with others, and of course covid meaning we haven't been able to have visitors or go out for a coffee or meal has added to the lonely feeling. Plus you can't overdo it with your COPD, else you will get exhausted. But I do think you do well with the amount you do manage to do in the garden. That's good you managed to finish your watering system.

I think I saw those Martin Clunes islands you mentioned, it was very interesting.

Hope you can find something you like to watch on tv tonight. I am watching GP Behind Closed Doors, then the dog programme straight after, Graham the dog expert is marvellous sorting the dogs out (but the owners really). Then I probably watch the recordings.

Weather not bad again today, went a short walk, then hung some more washing out. Managed to get a little swing in on the swingchair.

Had some veggie fingers for tea with new potatoes, green beans and this....., which is easy to make in the microwave and as a veg  I do enjoy...

Aunt Bessie's Mashed Carrot & Swede

Hope Baz slept ok last night.

Tv time, doggie show now.

Evening Mollie.

Yes, its no fun on your own, but this isolation wont last for ever.

Pleased i managed to finishe the planned system, looking at the figures of water usage the spray misters i used to use say they use 18L per hour, i had 35 x 18L = 630L per hour but each on was only on for 15 mins so thats 157.5L, the new soaker hose uses 2L per Metre Per Hour, i have total of 44m x 2 = 88L but its only on for 30m each so thats only 44L so it should use a lot less water, the sprays wasted a lot as i couldnt fit them at the right height so the spray went over the sides of the raised bed.

I rang the dentist to see what was going on, i said i should have had a filling, she has booked me in for April 14th, will need to fill a form in on their website a couple of day before.

Mrs H picked up my meds for me from the Lloyds pharmacy in store.

I saw GP's tonight, watching Slavage Hunters, watched Find it Fix, enjoy that.

Is trhat packet the Mash, xan only read the Aunty Bessie, that was the mash i had tonight, so easy, i add butter though and pepper.

I've got some Lamb Leg from the freezer so will make a Rendang curry tomorrow.

Love Island now for me.

Stay safe and have a good evening, sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky .Lovely sunny day here .....hope it is wherever you are too.I had a mediocre night, and am having a bad hair day , literally ! A hairdresser (and an hour at the spa) are top of my to do list once it’s safe enough .That aside , I’ve done a load of washing , cleaned kitchen , anti bac’d my Sainsbury shop , and I’ve been for  another walk . I wore different sandals today , went a little bit further, and saw Cyril the squirrel hightailing it up a tree . I had some lovely lamb chops for lunch , and now I’m sofa surfing watching tv .I hope you are having a nice Wednesday .

Mollie , I’m reading Celine Grace , Creed . It’s one in her DI Kate Redman series .Have you watched 24 Hours yet ? What a truly despicable apology for a human being that guy was .I enjoyed GPs though .....I think the doctors are starting to grow on me. Will you be joining us for Great British Menu tonight ? I have aunt bessies honey roast parsnips most days . Hicky , I didn’t realise you had COPD .....my husband had that too . I watched those Martin Clunes programmes when they were first broadcast , and really enjoyed them. I think the isolation is starting to get to us all .....I know I’m finding it hard at the moment .But like you say , hopefully it won’t last much longer .

Well , it’s GBM and Grand Designs for me tonight . Have a good evening both ....and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Yes, a lovely day here as well 12c sunny with a moderate breeze.

Pity your night wasnt ideal, at least you had reasonable weather to go out.

You cant beat lamb chops, i had cheese on toast with tomato for brekkie, for tea made a beef Rendang with rice.

Had a small cauli over so did a quick boil the sliced it into portion to be fried after being dipped in egg and flour, not bad really.

Did some weedingon a couple of tree tubs, did some tidying and raised up the vine canes in the greenhouse onto the support lines as they have buds now.

Yes the COPD is such a hindrence as it stops me doing stuff the way i could before, but when you smoke all your life what can you expect.

I've never really worked on my own as i was spending so much of the time in an office designing control systems for material handling equipment or else i was on site in a factory somewhere in Europe with a load of men doing mechanical & electical work during the instalation phase then when we were commissioning the equipment i was on the laptop modifying the sofware as needed, but i always had a few with me during testing.

Stay safe and sleep well.

hope the mediocre nights sleep improves to a good one.

I suggest my method of the kitchen scissors, GoBlonder spray, and anti friz hair cream to solve the bad hair day. (well the attempt to solve!).

Well done managing to get out on a walk and even seeing Cyril the squirrel. How did your ankle hold up?

I haven't read any of that author's novels, are they good? I am reading an autobiography daughter bought me a couple of years ago about that elderly couple who passed away recently and were on the earlier additions of Gogglebox. (Leon and June). Really interesting. I assumed they were both from Liverpool, but it turns out she was originally from South Wales.

Yes at 24Hours in Police Custody. I agree that fella was so awful, spawn of the devil it appeared. He seemed to have zero remorse for ruining other humans' lives.

I agree about GP show, it is enjoyable and I too am getting used to the GP's now, One of the nurses is a bit weird, I noticed she never seems to look at the patience, virtually ignores them by not even glancing up from her pc screen. So rude. None of the docs are so ill mannered to do that though.

Won't be joining you tonight as I am watching Corrie and the DNA show, but thanks for telling me about the forum chat. I will like to join you next time we watch the same thing at the same time.

Hicky

you are clever making that highly tech water system.

Glad to hear you have your dentist sorted out at long last.

The Aunt Bessie is the suede and carrot mash, I just tip some out into a bowl and heat it a couple of mins in the microwave.

We too got a nice day today, plenty of sun, with just a cool breeze, so nice enough to sit out for awhile on the swingchair.

Never heard of the recipe of coly fried in egg and flour. Sounds nice.

Yes I can understand this COPD is such a nuisance how it slows you down, what a good job they invented inhalers for it though. I know you have to use them to ease it. Have they assessed it recently? I recall some time ago they put you on a new one.

Had a nice walk today , then a nice read on the swingchair and a Gregs cheese and onion pasty with veg for tea. They sell them in Iceland, so daughter got me some with an order she made.

Watching DNA show now , really interesting.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

The watering system isnt complicated, in fact its pretty simple if you understand timer controled solenoids etc, the systems i controlled at work were about 100 times more complicated.

Mrs H said the Aunt Bessies in Sainsburys was with swede and carrot so she put down sainsburys own for me.

I would have sat on the swing seat but it needs moving, will see o/h tomorrow as i cant move it on my own.

The Cauli fried after dipping the pieces in egg and flour wasnt very interesting as it doesnt have any flavour, think it needed something else.

I have the Anoro inhaler once in the morning, that is fine, the blue one i seldom use, just if i do too much work or lifting i might need a puff but normally dont touch it, always carry it with me.

That Gregs pastie sounds delish, could just eat one of those, didnt realise they had them in Iceland.

F1 racing starts again Friday, so happy about that, Love Island finishes in a week.

Just beat my lad at chess again, we are 26 games each.

Watching my recording of Salvage Hunters.

Have a good evening and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok.

Quite a nice Spring day really with 13c sun and a moderate breeze.

Had bacon black pud and egg on toast, nice, for tea i cooked 8 mear balls, gave them a fry then added some gravy with vindlaoo paste to liven it up, had it with chips, it was delicious.

Ordered another Fish Delivery for next Thursday, just the usual, salt cod, cod fillet, haddock fillet, dressed crabs, massive prawns, anchovies, rabbits, smoked salmon trims, i might add more yet, i was going to get a Sushi platter but the fellow is off sick.

Did a test on the watering system by putting the 3 zones on test at the same time, it seems fine, will give it some more time and if its ok i'll modify the system in the garage so the 1 main timer outside can supply 1 of the 2 manifolds to supply the 3 zones rather than through 3 timers.

Got the Sainsbury delivery this morning so i am ok for now.

I rang about my cherry and plum trees, they said they should be leaving them next wednesday or thursday, but the sweetcorn & veg plants dont come till May ready for planting.

I've got F1 from tomorrow so am very happy for that.

Have a good evening, stay safe and happy.

That is good your water system is working fine, you are at least all ready now for all the lovely weather we hope to get soon.

Your Anoro inhaler must be working rather well if you don't need the blue inharer very often.

MrsH is right, Aunt Bessie's is suede and carrot mash, let me know how you find Sainsburys own. I did try one shops own brand (think it was Morrisons) and it was not as nice as Aunt Bessies. Aunt Bessie has added seasoning and butter milk.

That interesting that you and your son have 26 chess games won each.

You will be busy when your plants and trees arrive, hope the weather is nice enough for you to sort them.

It hasnt' been too bad the last few days though. Things are starting to flower and bud well in the garden now.

Bet you are looking forward to F1, that will save you having to hunt for suitable tv to watch.

You certainly enjoy your fish going on that order.

Yesterday was my birthday, i had some lovely pressies off family, eg scarf and magazine sub off MrM, I love my mags. and Hotel Choc choccies, lovely, DVD of my fave shows from theatre son.

Daughter sent for this for our tea time treat fro a local shop, it was delicous. It lad fresh strawberries as well as lot of different types of sweets and 10 scoops of ice cream.

May be an image of dessert

Son had to have another doc phone consultation, doc is trying some more meds for his stomach problems. He thinks he is also depressed due to being stuck at home, says he is getting a lot of other people with these similiar symptoms due to covid. So sent him some links and said he needs to continue with daily outdoor walks. So hope the new meds help him.

I am glad to say that covid cases have dropped so much here now, that from tomorrow we can go anywhere within Wales and self catering holiday places will be open for Easter. So at least we can get to go on the coast now. And there should be plenty of people around so places will be open for outdoors eating.

It was pouring earlier but sunny intervals now, seems a bit cooler though but dont' mind that as long as it stays dry.

Hope Baz is ok today and slept well.

Going for a walk soon , then need to do a bit of washing.

Have a good day both xxx

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . It’s been sunny here so far (although it did rain overnight ) , but I think rain is forecast later . I had a better night , so I’ve been quite busy . I’ve washed , dusted , cleaned bathroom and kitchen , done a bit more in the back garden and fed birds . I also went for another walk ....and my ankle  is definitely getting a bit easier . It’s the first time I’ve worn my coat in over a year , and my bus pass was in the pocket ...which kind of made me sad . ....and looking at the news about Covid  I doubt I will be using it any time soon . Anyway , I hope everyone else is having an enjoyable Friday .

Mollie .....awwwwww belated happy birthday .....glad you had a lovely day.

Loving the ice cream .I am sorry your son is still feeling poorly though .I hope the new meds help a bit . We will be watching Gogglebox on plus 1 tonight (at 10 o’clock ) , if you fancy joining us .Hicky , glad your watering system is working so well. My husband was also a heavy smoker ....they used to give them free cigarettes in the army .....but ironically he had quit about 10 years when he developed COPD ...and about 15 years when he got lung cancer .....but I guess the damage was done.

Well , it’s Great British Menu, Gardeners World, Gogglebox , and maybe the Circle , for me tonight I hope you both have a good evening ....stay safe .

Evening Mollie.

Happy Birthday, didnt realise it was yesterday, lots of lovely presents i see, oh that ice cream etc looke delish.

It was 10c today, it said rain but we had sun all day with a fresh breeze, not good.

Also i had hot x buns on the shopping but they never arrived.

Pleased with the watering system, think its going to use less water and waste less as well, it could take some time to get the timing right as it only trickles from the soaker pipe then it makes its way through the soil/compost, hopefully the plants will be able to take what they want, i can test the soil for moisture content anyway so i'll know if they need more water.

Yes, the Anoro inhaler on its own is fine, normally i dont need anything else, just when i start lifting or working too much i need to stop, seldom really need the blue inhaler though, dont think my breathing has gone worse.

I found another pack of Aunt Bessies Mash in the freezer, didnt see a mention of swede or carrot, i'll look again.

We moved the swing seat into the sun yesterday, then the sun went in, today it was sunny although it said rain, the wind stopped me going on it.

My fish stock it seems is less than i had thought but the next fish order will sort that.

Its strange how we have won 26 games each and we play alternate white and black pieces, it shows we are pretty well matched really.

Have they said what is the problem with your son, the meds arent clearing it up they seem to be just to let him manage the problem and pain.

Glad you will be able to get out soon to the coast again, you will still have to be very careful though.

Baz came on after you had posted so will read Baz's post now.

Had some pics and vids from Oz this morning they have gone on holiday for 3 nights to Nelson Bay, they are having a fine time.

Keep safe and sleep tight.

Evening Baz.

You have been busy again, glad you had a better night.

I think your ankle with get stronger but you have to ease in into walking, you need short walks for some time before taking it further, it could take monthes to get back where it was before the accident.

Not sure if the lung cancer is connected direct to smoking because so many people have it and they have never smoked, it seems to bu like russian roulette what you get and when, there are so many ways you can die now it makes it almost impossible not to die prematurely.

Glad you have a few programs to watch tonight, i'll record Monty for another day, too many programs to watch at the same time.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept well, hope you lad feels better Mollie with the change of meds.

11c today, a sunny morning becoming cloudy with strong winds.

Had salt cod with a kipper and bacon with 2 poached eggs, for tea did some mince and made a gravy adding some vindaloo and chopped up a pepper that needing using up, had it with rice and some lime pickle.

Did a bit in the garden while waiting for the F1 programs to start, did some tidying, plenty of that needs doing.

Had a look at how to rearrange the garage watering timer/manifold supply, i could have just 1 timer in the garage instead of the one on the kitchen wall but it would mean having the water in the hose day and night, whereas now the main hose is only with mains water during the watering periods, so if i got a leak i wouldnt lose so much water.

Had a little swing on the swing seat but too much wind really, will be nice when the wind drops, forecast says rain tomorrow.

Have got a nice portion of Rib Beef for tomorrows lunch, i got a cauli to make cauliflower cheese but havent got round to it yet.

Got some pictures and videos off my lad in Oz, they are having a fine time, they will be in a resort as they cater for children.

Stay safe and have a good evening, sleep well.

Hicky

thank you for the birthday wishes. I am still eating my Hotel Choc choccies, yummy.

Baz

glad you slept better and your ankle is coping well as you progress with the walking. Hopefully you will be able to get out and about on the bus again by this summer.

Didn't see your Gogglebox post until today, but thanks for asking me.

I enjoyed it again this week. Did you like the anti-aging cream bit?

at the F1 accident, incredible how he walked away from that!  Wonder if HIcky saw it? I know he likes F1.

Wonder what you are watching tonight? It is Ant and Dec for me, then part 1 of series 3 drama Keeping Faith. I really enjoyed the previous series of this.

Hicky

Pity they didn't have your hot X buns. Yes Aunt Bessie does plain mash and then also this carrot and suede one. I like both o them.

That's nice to see your family are enjoying themselves in Nelson Bay. A resort will be ideal for a young family/

I see you are enjoying your F1 again and managed to get in the garden, which is good.

It wasn't a bad day here today either, sunny spells with a cool wind, but I managed to sit in the sun for short while because the swingchair is sheltered from the wind,  but I could still feel it, so like you, I didn't sit there for long. If the forecast is right, it is due to get a lot warmer next week, so hope they are right.

For tea I had 2 cheese salad brioche buns with mayo and sweet chilli sauce, so that was very tasty.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

What F1 accident, i've been watching it all havent seen an accident, maybe f2 or F3 maybe, where did you hear this.

Mrs H got me the hot x buns this morning, so lovely with Kerry.

It says 18c here Tuesday then the days get colder each day, not good.

It feels strange with no Voice or Strictly etc on a saturday, Love island finishes Monday night.

Have a good  evening stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky
