hope you are pleased with your rug when it comes. What colour is it?

What a shame about your slippers? Is your bad ankle bigger than the other one? I know the one I fell on a few years ago (that tirggered the arthritis in it) now always seems to be bigger and puffier than the other one, so it is so difficult shoe/slipper wise for me. Hope you find another pair that suits you better.

Shame your grandkids are going through the same study problems because of covid. Its very hard on them. Can't see son  going in at all until at least after Easter, and it will be a rush by then to get all the work in.

How nice you managed to get out for a walk. I rarely see people here wearing masks outdoors, but everyone always steps aside if we walk past anyone, so that's good.

It was good to see the GP show back again. Yes great result for the pottery, let's hope we get the result we want for DOI next week.

Hicky

I too prefer the fruit in scones, makes them nice and tasty.

Yes it did take a lot of wood for MrM to make the bird box, most of the cofee table in fact.

That sounds good news that your lad's leg dosn't look too bad now the staples are out. HOpe it improves well now.

My son is a lot brighter today thankfully. Eating more but a very restictive diet.  But he has been a couple of walks today.

How nice for your son to plan a world tour, should be an interesting for him. Are all the family going too?

Hope you do hear from the roof people soon, because it is infair otherwise.

Wales are as keen as anyone to get out of this covid mess, but are not rushing to give exact dates of travel (like Boris did), until the scientists advise the cases are low enough, so its safe to open the airport etc, and I think that is the correct thing to do. Last summer we had very low cases, but we ended up the worst in the UK with all the tourists flooding in and the intenational travel restarting too soon. I'd rather take it slowly than risk another lock down. But I am hopefull and think we are ready in Wales for a big easing of local restrictions soon.  I heard today we might end up opening some things earlier than the English dates, depends on the cases, but we are in full lockdown until 12th, and what mattters is its working.

That will be nice you have darts to look forward to again.

I am enjoying a lot of the current drama shows.

Yesterday, MrM drove me a 60 mile round trip to deliver a Gregs tuna crunch baget!   My poor friend who has kidney disease, and on dialasys 3 times a week , has been in hospital with a blood infection, and she was desperate for a Gregs. She was very upset saying she was so hungry, so I figured we could count a trip to the hospital to drop something off for somone in need as an essential journey, especially as she had been in hospital for 3 weeks with no visitors allowed. It so cheered her up, the hosptial porters take deliveries to the ward and they said I can drop off any time in the day. I also put in some coke and 8 bag of crisps, and nutty snacks (as she is daibetic, can't have biccies).

Misty and rainy today, but went for a walk inbetween showers.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, my Lad in Oz is thinking of staying in resorts in many xountries, the 4 of them should enjoy that, mind you he has to try and get passports for the children, and thats not easy children.

Oh, that was so nice taking the Gregs Bagette, she must have been so pleased to get that.

It looks like some of the Covid after effects will be with people for years, have a feeling some will never recover fully.

I dont think my lad can bend his knee for 6 weeks after the op as he has to wear the brace system, he says it still very swolen.

I'll be glad when all this is over, its so strange no having visitors popping in, i assume still no dentist, i had even paid for the treatment i never got, surely they can have the virus test done at the surgery, think i'll ring, this is crazy.

Got my Sainsburys delivery in the morning, we ordered stuff that they can carry instead of Mrs H, tins jars, veg oil etc.

Stay in stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky .Cloudy day here . I slept ok ....but am having a bad day emotionally and anxiety wise . So I’ve tried to keep busy to try and stop myself worrying . I’ve changed all the bedding , washed the towels , dusted , ironed and cleaned kitchen . I managed to eat a pork chop for lunch , and I’ve taken an extra tablet to try and settle things down . I hope you are having a better day than I am .

Mollie ,awwww...how lovely for your friend ....I can imagine just how much she appreciated it It’s a year this weekend since I had my accident , and can still remember how awful it was being stuck in hospital....especially as I have ibs , so hardly are a thing while I was in there.   Yes ,  one ankle is now a different shape ....so I got some of those slip on, through the toe type slippers to try and get around that . The trouble is I hadn’t thought about the fact that you need to grip with your toes ,  which in turn puts a strain on my heel ....if that makes sense . So I’ve gone back to wearing slipper socks .I’m hoping to go on another walk once the weather gets a bit better again ....this time I’m planning to walk to my nearest postbox , which is just a little bit further than my first walk . I enjoyed GPS ....anything that makes life a bit more normal is great. Hicky, is your sons brace adjustable ? It must be awful for him being so uncomfortable ....I bet sleeping is difficult too .But as long as it works then it will be worth it. I totally agree about being fed up with Covid ....I miss having visitors and I was also just starting dental treatment before my accident and Covid put paid to it ! I just want to go back to my normal, if boring everyday life !

Baz

Good Afternoon Baz.

Glad you got a good sleep, sorry your day hasnt been as good, you do get a lot done in a day.

It was cool here at 8c with heavy cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had bacon egg and tomato for brekkie, having fillet steak with chips and chip chop curry with pickled onions and lime pickle.

Livened up the greenhouse tubs with some old manure to get the conditions right for the new plants in May.

My Sons brace is adjustable but he cant change the setting till 6 weeks after the op, he can then change the setting to 30deg but for know his leg has tostay straight, he can take the brace off to change dressings etc.

I wonder when the dentists are back in business?

Some sunny intervals back Saturday so will leave more work outside as its pretty chilly.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

sorry you have had such a down day today, hope you feel brighter soon.

But I do agree with you both in that we are all feeling fed up of this covid rubbish now. I think the reason why it feels so bad right now is because it has unbelievably gone past a year now, and it has felt like a long boring winter, with no company or nothing to give us a treat out.

However spring is just around the corner and cases are well down. I was reading we also have hope in medication (ivermectin) now too in helping to prevent this awful virus taking over. 30 lots of research have proved its worth and Oxford Uni researchers are now starting studies for the UK study to approve it for covid.  It is also a well used medication and cheap. With this as a an extra to vaccines, let's hope it won't be long now until we can put this past year behind us.

What a terrible time it was for you a year ago Baz, maybe it is due to recall thoughts of that making you feel miserable today. You have done so well to think how far you have come since then, especially now you are even going out for walks. Makes sense I guess that the shape and different pressure areas are on your foot after such an injury. So annoying you can't even go and try shoes on to see which type suit you, as it is fiddly retuning online things that don't fit. At least Amazon collect from your door though. Hope you manage and enjoy your walk to the post box. I think we have some nice dry weather forecast, so hope they are right.

Hicky

what an experience travelling will be for your son's young chidren.   I found when we lived in Oz, schools were very keen if you wanted to take kiddies out and go travelling. So unilke the UK, who don't encourage time out for travel, the teachers attitudes in Oz were "enjoy your travel. just tell us when you will be back and share your experiences with the other children".

Glad you could get in your garden today. It was dry here but dull and a high mist. Quite cool too.

Your poor son... it cant' be easy not bending the knee and wearing the brace.

The dentists here have been working for some time because MrM went some time ago and my friends daughter did too. But don't think they will just do a check up. They will see you if something is bothering you, eg lost filling. No waiting room though, you just ring the bell at the exact appointment time and they let you straight in the dentist surgery. Might be worth you giving them a ring.

Did you get all you need from your shop today? Yes delivery is very handy especially with heavy stuff.

Had nice walk, as it was dry. Only about 20 mins, but that is enough for me at the moment. The horses are fascinationg how they usually stand head to toe all facing the same way. The quieter white one is always behind the others.

Had a boring tea, just beans on toast and a bag of cheese and onioin crisps.

will try and make an apple crumble tomorrow.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Good Evening Mollie.

If my lad and his family did some traveling around now he wouldnt need to bother about real schools as the children would only need some preschool as his daughter has now.

About the dentist, i had a check up and needed a filling, paid for it and got an appointment, which was cancelled for the 18th June last year and they havent been in touch.

Most of the shopping arrived, what they dont deliver Mrs H can pick up after work, the delivery doesnt come from locally it comes from many miles away.

Its nice when you can get a short walk and see the horse, better than being shut in all day.

Beans on toast is lovely, i have loads of brown sauce on mine, we buy the small tins, had 2 packs of 3 on the shopping list.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Good Evening All.

7c today with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had a bacon and egg toasted sandwich for brekkie and had home battered deep fried cod slices for tea, so yummy, the cod portion made 5 pieces, its easier to cook and eat the slices, had a couple of hot x buns today as well with Kerry butter, so food.

Did some paper shredding as i decided to shred another big files worth, will take a few days but the other idea i did of soaking the paper in water wasnt so successful.

Watched some darts this afternoon, its on from 7pm as well, have recorded Cathcphrase as its so good.

Another neighbough died this Morning, that makes it number 5 now within 4 doors each way, and 2 next door are very i'll, 1 is bedridden, so there are now 2 fellers alone, 2 females alon and 1 daughter, not the best of places to live, he only found out he had cancer at christmas, non of the deaths were Covid related.

I have the salt con in water for brekkie and have the kipper on standby and bacon / eggs on the ready.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Back to the shredding I see, shame the water didn't work. I tend to find it works well with single letters.

Hot X buns are delicious, bet you enjoyed them. (especailly with Kerrygold).

Yes I remember you had an appointment with the dentist before lockdown. Perhaps you could ring them and ask if the situation has changed.

Gosh that is sad you are losing so many neighbours.

We had pizza, small potates for tea, and daughter made some pancakes after, which I like with lemon and sugar.

Hope you had a good day Baz.

Well its Corrie, then Vera ontv for me tonight, which is nice. Will record Gogglebox.

Looks like we have a dry weekend forecast, which will be great. It was quite nice too today , got a walk in and a little time reading on the swingchair.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The water worked in the end with the paper but after it soaking for 2 weeks the print was still on the paper, the ink is so good these days, then i drained the buckets and compresed the paper, thats all i could do, dont think you could unravel it though, but it didnt really save me any work, i had thousands of pages to do.

I'll ring the dentist next week, crazy, no idea what they are doing, the practice is private really but they do NHS as well.

I must make more pancakes as i have 2 packs of pancake mix to use.

I was watching 3 programs at once earlier, just keep pressing the station number each in turn, only watcching 2 now, Salvage Hunter and darts.

It looks dry here for a few days, rain back tuesday.

Glad you managed a walk, and the swingchair, thats great.

Keep safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Beautiful sunny afternoon here , and I was going to go for a walk , but my ankle is a bit sore today , so I just went out in the garden and did some tidying up instead . Aside from that I slept reasonably well , so I’ve been catching up on a few jobs .....I’ve hoovered , dusted, washed , cleaned kitchen and fed birds . I also put my new bedroom rug down , and I’m really pleased with it. I just had lamb chops for lunch , so that’s me done for the day ....I’m now parked on the sofa watching trashy tv . I hope your Saturday is going well .

Mollie, my new rug is pink and sort of sparkly. Did you enjoy Gogglebox last night ?Jenny and Lee crack me up , but last night it was Ros mishearing what the bawdy comedian guy said , and then my having to text her the explanation of what he was talking about , that gave us the biggest laugh . How is your son doing ? Hicky , how very, very sad about your neighbours . I need to some shredding , but keep putting it off . My M&S delivery came today , so I’ve got some goodies.

Well , it’s San Diego zoo for me tonight. I hope you both have a good evening ....and see you for DOI and Pottery tomorrow Mollie . Stay safe both .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slep ok, yes, i think before a good walk you should test it out on a short walk each day just to let it bed in so to speak, if you go for a good walk and ankle plays up how do you get back.

You do so much in a day, apro cleaner does less than you do.

Bet the new rug feels good underfoot.

It was 7c today cool but dry with a light cloud and a light wind.

Finished shredding the paper, thats a good job out of the way, can concentrate on the garden again now, also put canes in place for the plants to grow up in the greenhouse.

Had my salt cod, kipper with bacon a soft poached eggs, wow, i love that.

For tea had some oven chips and a fray Bentos steak and kidney pie, tasty.

Thats good, your M&S delivery would lift anyone spirit, yes, shredding is so boring, but it has to be done.

I've got the darts again tonight, but with the voice and Love island i have a problem as i already record Hammonds big stuff, and i play chess online with my lad which has the bad knee.

Hope you find something to watch, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

glad you slept ok. You did right delaying your walk for a day when your ankle is not bothering you. Hopefully, at this time of year, we wil have plenty of nice weather days to come now, to give you plenty of choices of days to get on a walk.

I see you have been as busy as ever though. Glad to see you are pleased with your rug....pink and sparkly...sounds lovely.

I wonder...are you going to manage to save any of your M and S treats for tonight's tv? I am hoping to save my bag of mini eggs for tonight.

Yes I enjoyed Gogglebox, but didn't get what the comedian was saying either.   That's nice how your forum friends text each other. Hicky and I exchange photos now and again on whatsap, its usually food photos .

My son had been improving well ,but had a bit of an off day again yesterday. I think it is something that comes and goes. He did go for a very long walk though and a short walk yesterday, so might of over done it before he was ready.

Hicky

I can see why you gave up with the water method and went back to the shredder, if the print was so difficult to get rid of. Good job you have done it now and can get back to gardening whilst we have this bit of  a dry spell

Gosh ,  3 programmes at once! That is multi tasking   ...and added to that, you are trying to fit in your chess. Certainly keeps you busy.

we are having halloumin wraps for tea.

Been a nice walk, and the sun has just come out, so I am off in the garden on the swing chair with my book before it gets chilly again.

Have a good day both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

7c here with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, i did a machine of clothes and got them out on the wall clothes line, brought them in earler to put on a maoden thingie.

Made an omelette with mushrooms cheese and eggs, very nice too.

Made a massive casserole with 900g diced lean beef, carrots, onion, peppers, peas and s[uds, used a jar of steak and ale sauce and water with stock cubes, it will be readly in 8 minutes.

Vut up some boxes to go in the recycle bin, didnt have a vid call this morning as he said faughter had gone to bed, will try in the morning.

Will record DOI as darts on tonight, recorded the voice and love island last night as well, will have to record LI again tonight.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . I hope you’re both having a good day . I was up most of the night with my ibs , so I’m a bit tired and fragile today ....apart from that , I’m fine .I’ve not done much at all ....just one load of washing and the usual kitchen cleaning ....so a lazy day chez Baz . I’ve just had a bit of lunch ....so fingers crossed .

Mollie , brilliant result on doi last night . And I am loving the finalists in Pottery too .....so all’s good in the hood.Sorry your son had a bad day ......I hope it was just a blip . Yes, several of us text each regularly .....sometimes every day .....even those no longer in the forum . Tbh I don’t know how id have gotten through the last couple of years without their support ....they metaphorically (and in some cases really) held my hand all through my husbands illness and death. Hicky , hope you managed to get a video call today .Now you’ve finished your shredding can you come and do mine please . Yes, I’m very pleased with my new rug.

Well , it’s Masterchef for me tonight. Have a good evening both , and take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry to hear you had a troubled night, dont you have any meds you can take for that, you sure will be tired if you couldnt sleep.

It was quite a nice day here with 9c and cloud, some sun with a moderate breeze.

Had a bacon and egg toasted sandwich, for tea i had Turbot Fillet and Prawns, very tasty, did them in oil and butter and had lemon juice with salt and pepper over it on the plate.

Managed to get a bit more done in the garden, have ordered more 4mm vari-flow valves and some 13mm gren back valves.

Never got a video call this morning, he probably forgot.

I put the rest of yesterdays beef casserole into 4 aluminium containers with lids and took them to the garage freezer.

I've caught up with Love Island, still got the voice and DOI to watch yet.

Think my right eye is bleeding again as some of the straight lines have kinks so could need another injection, also i can see less and less all the time, which is not good.

Stay safe and try to sleep when you get the chance.

sorry your IBS kept you up, must be very tiring for you. HOpe its improved today.

Yes it certainly was good news for our Sunday night viewing, with great results on DOI and Pottery show.

How nice you have such lovely support from your forum friends. I know you have known them for years.

Hicky

What a shame your eye is playing you up again. When are you due to go back to the hospital about it again? Maybe give them a ring and ask if you can have an earier appointment if you have awhile to wait, in case they can fit you in.

glad you got the nice weather there, so managed to get some work done in the garden.

Handy to have the beef casserole in the freezer for when you fancy an easy meal.

I had cheese/onion pasty, chips and veg and MrM made some of those cinnamon swirl cakes. Yummy..

Lovely day here too today, nice walk, then sat on swingchair and read book awhile in the sun.

Watching A and E tonight.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

I go tot eh eye clinic this wednesday so will see what they say, they do tests and take the pictures.

If its not too cold its ok in the garden, mind you i dont loke wind.

I have a lot of frozen meals in have made now, will have to start using them as i need the space.

Going to make scones tomorrow, this time i will use the right flour.

I watch Jamie Oliver making bread the other day, he only had warm water, yeast and flour with a pinch of salt, going to try that, no oil or butter etc.

I need the swing seat moving so i can sit in the sun, it was moved so o/h could paint the decking, a bit of a disaster really as so much has been rubbed off with walking on it.

stay safe and have a good evening and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

10c today with cloud and sun and a moderate breeze.

Had a bacon and egg on toast for brekkie, for tea defrosted a beed Vindaloo and had it with rice.

Made fruit scones, a lot more successful this time.

Managed to do more outside in preparation for Spring, still work to do, just need to nice weather, the 13mm stop taps arrived early as they were expected Friday.

Watched my the Voice recording so up to date with that, nor seen the DOI yet.

Have got the eye clinic in the morning, will have to see what they think this time.

Had a vid call from Family in Oz, fantastic.

Stay safe and have a good evening.

hope the eye clinic goes ok tomorrow, good job you had this appointment lined up because you had this concern about your eye.

Glad you got a good result with your scones this time.

Bet you enjoyed your call from Oz, the kiddies change so quickly at that age, that it is good to see them as often as you do, with all the calls you get.

Hope your Jamie Oliver bread turns out well.

We too had nice weather today, so I got in the garden for a quick read on the swingchair, its good the weather meant you got some work done in the garden.

We had a nice little walk too, and my washing dried well.

For tea son made a new recipe a friend of his gave him. She told him it was a easy meal and it was. It was nocci and two types of cheese and tomato sauce. The parmasan cheese was sprinkled on the top. Very tasty.

Going to watch the tv drama "Unforgotten" on itv at 9pm. Watching the dog programme on c5 now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, i can tell things have changed with the eye, when i look at the screen, so annoying, but i can see less and less with central vision.

Mrs H has had another scone, she said they are ok so i'm pleased about that as she is very critical.

We usually have at least 1 vid call a week, which is plenty really to keep in touch and see how the kiddies are doing.

I'll try the Jamie Oliver bread when my last loaf runs out as they take a lot of room in the house freezer, could take it outside but it means i have to go out to bring it in to thaw a round or 2.

Its good that you can get some time on the swing seat, weather is slowly improving.

Your friends recipe of Nocci sounds great, you cant beat cheese, makes such great meals.

I watched opal hunters, salvage hunters, GP behind closed doors, now Love Island.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . Horrible weather here ....and it’s going to get worse tonight. I HATE high winds...cue a disturbed night! . On the plus side , I didn’t have a bad night yesterday , and the gas man has finally been and done the annual boiler service . He was due any time between 8-6 ....so I had to be up really early for me . Anyway , I’ve got a few jobs done ....bathroom , kitchen , dusting , and two loads of washing....and I just about managed to get my lunch before he arrived .I hope you are all having a good day and managing to stay dry !

Mollie , how is your son doing ? Did you enjoy GPs last night ?I think the new surgery is growing on me now . Looks like it’s going to a wild night tonight! Hicky , how did your appointment go today ? I love Jaimie Oliver ....good no nonsense cooking imo.Glad you enjoyed the bread .

Not sure what I’m going to watch on tv tonight ....but I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you are doing . ...and stay safe.

Baz

Evening Baz.

I was up at 7am as i was leaving for the eye clinic at 08:30 as Mrs H was going to drop me off on her way to a dentist appointment.

Just getting some sight back after being to the eye clinic, need a course of 3 injections again in the right eye, had the first today so just getting able to see a bit again, the eye is a bit uncomfortable just now when i blink, like having sand in it, and have got the black ball floater again, so annoying.

12c today, heavy rain with a fresh breeze, even needed to take a brolly with me to hospital,

Cooked some sausages when i got home as i couldnt see to make anything else, just cooked 3 cod fillets and had them with bacon.

Glad you had a better night sleep wise, glad the boiler service got dome also.

I enjoyed the new GP behind closed doors.

Need to put the recycle wheelie bin out but with the expected gales it will get blown over as it isnt as heavy as the rubbish bin, going to try and put it out when the are coming up the road.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

glad you didn't sleep too bad.

Shame the weather has changed, it has here too. Wet today, and the wind has just arrived.

That's good your boiler service is out of the way.

I did enjoy GP show. Like you, I am getting used to the practice, even though there does seem to be a lot of different GP;s there.

My son seems a lot better today thanks, He's  been busy helping me with paperwork and dashing round with the vacuum, which is great. He was too ill to think about anything for a few weeks. Eating improving too, but still restricted diet.

I watched the DNA show on itv. It was very good.

Hicky

hope your eye clears soon and the treatment you got improves it. Its good MrsH could drop you off.

Your scones must be good if MrsH liked them.

Such a nuisance the gales have arrived, let's hope it doesn't last long.

I delivered a peanut butter cake decorated with Reese's for my friends grandaughter's 16th birthday today, that my daughter made. She loves Reeses. She was very pleased with it. Poor girl can't go anywhere or have anyone over for her birthday because of covid, so she appreciated the cake.

I had cheese and oniion pasty and veg for tea. The Morrisons ones are really nice.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Eye is a bit better alrerady, floater seems to have gone, it should be ok tomorrow, i cant get it wet for 48hrs, maybe to do with infection risk.

Forgot to tell Baz, a nurse phoned Mrs H using my mobile as i couldnt see, i guided her to were her number was, but when i said her name she must have gone to J to find it and rang, it rang out then i got a recorded message saying leave the number and message after the tone, i hung up as it wasnt Mrs H, i then gave the mobile to the security guy on the door and he rang her ok, when i could see and was home i looked up who had been rung, to my amazwement there is her name and a number but the number has +61 in front which is Australia, how on earth has that got in my contacts, no idea.

Yes, these overnight gales are going to be scary, will have to go out to put the bim out early as they come ny 08:30 to empty the recycle wheelie.

That was lovely taking the Birthday cake for your friends granddaughter, whe will love that.

Ooh, cheese and onion Pastie, nice, i have ordered Anchovies on my shopping for the Sainsburys delivery in the morning, also brown and red sauces, eggs, chocolate, dont really need anything.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slept ok, i was up early again to put the recycle wheelie bin out as i heard one blown over in the night, anyway, it had eased a little so could put it out about 8am but they were late.

9c today with sun & rain with strong winds.

Had a bacon & egg toasted sandwich for brekkie, for tea had home salt n pepper chicken wings, so lovely, then had half a tub of marinated Anchovies.

Did some jobs in the summerhouse and greenhouse, still loads to do.

Rang them about the plum and cherry trees, they said they are in the nursery now, so thats good.

Altered the screen colouring again, so the 2nd option is now greyscale which is almost black and white, black background.

The Sainsburys delivery came but Mrs H was out taking her mum for the 2nd jab, it comes with no bags but the driver packed it all into our big bags for me which was handy.

The rest of the watering fittings came also, just 20 vari-flow valves, i use them to join the soaker rings to the pipework on the main raised bed soaker lines.

Think i better order more concentrated manure, i usually get a sack ever 2 years, also need some potting compost too.

Didnt make the loaf as the sun was too inviting, maybe tomorrow now.

F1 starts again in 2 weeks, wow, cant wait, a lot of drivers and teams have changed this year.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleeep well.

Hicky

glad your eye improved quite quickly. Let's hope the treatment has helped the problem again.

That's odd about your phone when you tried to ring MrsH, wonder if you have entered the number when you were in Oz?

Good job you didnt put the bins out with all that wind.

Gosh we had some real strong winds overnight, woke me up a few times. They said they reached over 80mph here. Luckily it calmed down in the day but when we went for a walk, the wind was not so bad, but very cold. We have had sunny spells and heavy showers, sometimes hail too. We did manage to get a quick walk in in between showers luckily.

Did some washing but put it on airer indoors to dry.

Had a lovely jacket potato with another chesse and onion pasty (as Morrisons had subbed me 4 of them instead of 2!).  Good job they are yummy.Had some strawberries too, UK ones not ready yet but these were from Spain and were quite nice.

Not much on tv, so will watch an old detective called Lewis.

Hope Baz slept ok.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The eye discomfort usually goes overnight, which it did, dont know if it will improve any sight, it shouldnt as the injection was to stop the bleed.

I dont know anyone in Oz so wouldnt even put a nimber in the phone but for it to be inder Mrs H's Christian name is baffling.

Yes, i only heard 1 bin get blown over, spoke to neighbour this morning he said he heard 1 blow over so went out and got it back up, he is good he puts all the neighbours bins back onto their premises.

At least you got a walk in, it would have been lovely if the wind had dropped, i ran out my new yellow hosepipe so it can get used to being straight as it tends to curl and stay curled but in the sun you can get it stright again as i want to install it around the raised beds soon to feed the soaker hose system.

Think i'll have the last of the Scones as its still in the kitchen in a plastic biscuit container.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky I slept quite well last night .....guess that’s it for another week . Weather here is dry , but still breezy . I’ve not done a lot today ....just some washing , general tidying up , fed birds and anti bac’d my M&S delivery . It was lamb chops for dinner today ....and very yummy they were too . Now I’m lounging on the sofa ....guess my step count will be way down today .I hope your Friday is going well , whatever you are up to .

Mollie, glad your son is feeling better ....hopefully the meds have sorted him out . I was speaking to my son this morning and he says my grandson has dropped out of  uni cos he couldn’t hack the distance learning ....such a shame .....bliddy Covid ! It’s still breezy here , but nothing like it was the other night .Hicky , glad your eyes have improved a bit ....but at the phone debacle . Luckily my bins went out the day before the high winds !

Well, it’s Masterchef and `Gogglebox for me tonight .Have a good evening both ....stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you had a better sleep, it all helps, glad you got your M&S delivery, you seem to enjoy your chops. they are always a good meal.

It wasnt too bad today with 8c but it was dry just the wind is a pain, managed to get some more done outside so its coming together bit by bit.

Had sausage and egg on toast for brekkie with a fish tea, slices of a thick Haddock fillet floured and battered and deep fried in the wok.

Have some Anchovies for supper, so tasty, these are marinated, didnt make my loaf as it was dry out so couldnt stay in.

Ot looks like rain here tomorrow so i may be making bread, its going to be salt fish with a kipper and bacon with poached eggs for brekkie.

My sight hasnt improved, the injection is for the bleed in the right eye, the laser tratment in the left eye is for the misting inside the new lens, i'm slowly seeing less and less which is very worrying, i really need the cattaract removing from my right eye but with the lefdt one being almost blind i cant take the chance.

Yes, the phone number from Oz which is under the name of Mrs H is a puzzle, i cant figure it out.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

glad you slept ok, not to worry about taking it easy and having a lower step count. How many steps do you aim for now? I think you are doing so well with what you do do considering how nasty that accident was.

What a shame your grandson has had to drop out of Uni, another young person pays the price of this damn pandemic. So sad but understandable, it is so hard on the students this year. My Uni son is feeling the strain, gets so stressed every time he has to work on assignments without a lecturer just to ask on the spot. We are hopeful though he will be able to attend Uni after Easter as lockdown restrictions have been eased here today. My boys will be able to get a proper hair cut at last now hairdressers are open without me hacking away trying to style their hair with the kitchen scissors.

It was breezy here too today, but not as bad as it has been thankfully.

Enjoy your tv. I am recording Gogglebox because me and MrM watch Vera that is on at the same time.

Hicky

glad you managed to get a bit more done outside, let's hope that wind dies down soon. I think we have high pressure looming next week, hope so.

Oh I see the injection in your eye stops the bleeding, so it is important you have it. Its a pity you can't risk doing the cateract in the other eye. But I guess the specialist advises you the best treatment for your problem.

Good idea to make some bread if it is rainy tomorrow, think I will ask MrM to make one as he hasn't in awhile. Really bad forecast here too.

We did manage a little walk today, but it was very cold in the wind. It is pouring with rain now, so I am happy to sit in the warm with the dog on my feet and watch tv.

Have a good evening both xx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, the injection is just to stop the bleed, it has been stopped for 7 months but started up again, bit of a nuisance really.

I finished off the last Scone, it was lovely, will be making more using that recipe, the only change was the timing, it said 200c for 10 minutes but it needed another 5, not sure why.

Just had some marinated anchovies, now habing some Olives stuff with Anchovies, love them.

I've almost finished the last loaf i made so need another one soon.

The wind was just annoying, but i just do a little bit outside then go back in the summerhouse for coffee, its hard to stay indoors if the sun is out or its dry out.

Have a good evening and stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slwp well last night.

A cool 7c today with cloud and sun, rain forecast but didnt see any with a strong wind.

Had the salt fish, kipper bacon and eggs, so enjoyable.

For tea just made burgers with fried peppers.

Have got a tub of sowcial mushrooms but keep forgetting to have them, oh dear, forgot them completely.

Did a few jobs in the garden with the sun out all day, so bread on the backburner again.

I put manure in the 8 large tubs for the sweetcon plants when they arrive.

Planning is complet now so its just a matter of getting the weather so i can get on with it.

My lad who lives local popped over as he had a day off, he brought goodies for o/h and came in, he was in his new car, a Mercedes, he couldnt come tomorrow as hes working, the cars not new its 07 but extremely nice.

The voice tonight, will record LI tonight.

Stay safe and enjoy the evening and have a good Mothers day tomorrow.

Let's hope the eye injection stops that bleeding long term now, shame it came back after 7 months, It is a good job they are seeing you regualrly at the eye hospital.

that's a shame you forgot your mushrooms, I often do that, cook some veg or other, then forget to serve it on my plate and find it after.

How lucky you got some sun so could get out in the garden. Hope we get more nice weather so you can put all your planning in place.

We had only very brief sunny spells with showers of hail on and off.Went for a walk, took an apple cut in two for the horses and greedy biggest horse decided it was for him only, he nudged the other horse out of the way!

That was nice your local boy popped in for treat for MrsH. I have heard those Mercedes are nice reliable cars.

It was so windy overnight again last night, so hard to sleep with the noise of it and the rattling on the windows with rain too. Seems to have calmed a bit now, so hopefully a quieter night in store.

Watched Ant and Dec, very funny, now watching The Voice.

Hope Baz slept ok and had a good day.

Son is making me a roast dinner tomorrow for Mothers day, he has already made the Yorkshire pudding mix. James Martin reckons it is best if you mix it the day before.

Goodnight both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . I hope you are all having a good Sunday .

Rained most of the day here , so I’ve not done much , just one load of washing , hoovered and had bacon chops for lunch .  Apart from that I had to calm down one very irate son .He had an email first thing  (which he copied to  me) from a  large *well known*  florist saying they were sorry but they couldn’t source the stock locally for the flowers he had ordered for me so couldn’t deliver them  .....he wasn’t a happy bunny .

Mollie, Happy Mother’s Day ...I hope you’re getting spoilt rotten. Did you enjoy Gogglebox ? I did but there was far too much Markle in it for my liking ! Are you looking forward to the doi and pottery finals tonight ? I don’t mind who wins pottery , but would quite like it to be the Welsh girl .....and really hoping Colin can win the skating.Hicky , I hope the injection helps . My husband wanted a Mercedes all his life  , and blessedly circumstances meant that he managed to buy one 18 months before he died . I do eat a lot of chops , cos now I’m on my own a joint is too big for me .

Well my nights viewing is sorted ....although goodness knows what I’m going to watch next Sunday . Have a good evening both of you ...stay safe.

Baz

Evening Mollie.

That was the 1st of 3 injection i have to have, its a 3 injection course, i can tell i still have a small bleed.

In the fridge and freezer i have plastic containers, in the freezer its ok but in the fridge food has only a certain shelf lif and i have about 9 containers and i didnt see the mushrooms but remebered them after a few days, will have them for brekkie.

Yes, horses are the same as humans, greedy.

I must have forgot to finish this post Saturday as i've just found it, will write another.

Hicky

Evening Baz.

Happy Mothers Day.

Weather same here, rain all day, stayed in and made a loaf.

*c with rain and a fresh breeze si didnt go out

Had a tub of Specuality mushroom mix for brekkie with bacon, no nice.

Found out this morning F1 testing has been on since friday morning and afternoon, so i caught this afternoon, missed 19 hours.

Had one of my 4 frozen portions of beef casserole, nice.

Dont wonder your lad was annoyed getting an email like that, just one of those things really.

Just having some stuffed green olives, stuffed with Anchovies, so nice.

I'll record DOI as i havent watched last weeks yet either.

I think the eye bleed is reducing, i can tell by have bent the lines are, it wont improve the sight any, i will get another 2 as well, one a month.

Mercedes was the only car i never had, that was just because i didnt fancy buying a German car, but they are good.

Yes, chops are so handy, you can have 3, 4 etc depending how you feel.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Forgot to mention, had a vid call this morning from Oz, so good to see them growing up.

Evening All.

Not a bad day with 10c and sunny intervals cut a fresh breeze.

Made a bacon and mushroom Omelette for breakfast with pancakes for tea, got some smoked salmon trims for later.

Did a bit more outside while it was nice, but plenty to do yet.

Spent some time in the summerhouse with the sun shining through as i can build up part of the watering system while under cover anyway.

I have the eye clinic appointment tomorrow for yeye Laser treatment on the bad left ue just to get rid of what they say is misting under the lens, sont thiunk it will improve any sight, o/h said you will take me.

Have a good day stay safe and sleep well.

hope you slept ok and had a good day today.

Aaww what a shame your son ordered your flowers and then they couldn't source them. I read because UK have flowers mostly from EU countries, this has been happening to a lot of florists and is due to damn Brexit and the complication now that it has given importers.  I am having trouble sourcing my son's fave Irish potato cakes because of Brexit complications with Ireland. My friend ordered a 3 piece 3 months ago, and still doesn't have it yet. They said Brexit meant it harder to get deliveries they need from EU. But at last she is to get it this week.

i so agree about Gogglebox, far too Markle oriontated.

I did realy enjoy DOI, shame Colin did not win, but the lad who did win skated well, and I preferred him to Faye.

Brilliant result on the pottery. Jodie was on Radio Wales today, saying how she speaks to the other 2 finalists every day as they get on so well and enjoy sharing pottery hints together. She also said how nice everyone was on the show and how she enjoyed it. She is a nurse, and her mum too, she said she did a 6 week part time pottery course in Cardiff, and that was all she did to start her interest in pottery. She had done an art course at college, including wood carving, so I guess that helped her.

Hopefully I will be able to join you and the others soon for some other show soon.

Hicky

hope all goes well tomorrow for your eye appointment. Fingers crossed the laser treatment does help your sight. That's good MrsH can take you. I hope the course of injections sorts the bleed out completely.

Your summerhouse sounds lovely for you, gives you a nice change of scenery from indoors the house. Can you send me  some photos of it. MrM fancies a sunhouse. But of course, there is the small problem of having to find a house to buy to go with it first.

How nice you got to see your son and the youngsters by video.

I enjoyed my Yorshire puds son made for the Mothers day lunch and my other son bought me a special edition of stamps of Coronation Street in a presentation pack booklet.

Going to watch the itv thriller after Corrie.

have a good evening bothxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The Laser treatment should stop some of the glare, but as i cant see anything with the eye not sure what it will do, but i have to try anything as the other eye seems to be failing fast.

The injections seem to control the bleed but often its only temporary which is bad news.

The summerhouse is a 3m x 3m one with double doors, the doors have 6 panes, they dont use glass it is Acrylic stuff, each side of the doors are 4 panes and on the sides there are another 4 panes each side so you have 20 panes, the front should face South, mine faces West, there is an overhang of the roof over the double doors, i put 2 extra windows in the South side, one i fitted an auto opener which is handy in the summer, i'll sww if i can find the summerhouse on the web.

I installed all shelving along the back, the build up type that just stacks up, it comes in a box, have loads of it in the garage as well, so handy.

That was nice what you got for Mothers day from the lads.

You need a big garden to house all that you would like, i have the Gazebo, 5 raised beds, a 6 x 6ft garden shed, the 3m x 3m summerhouse, a 8 x 6ft greenhouse, a 15 x 15ft seating area with Astroturf, 4 x 3 seater benches, a big decked area 10 x 25ft leading to the Bungalow double doors in the Lounge.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . I thankfully slept much better last night . So I have caught up with a few jobs I should have done yesterday .  I’ve cleaned kitchen and bathrooms, done a load of washing , rescued bins ( especially as bin men left one of them right in the middle of the pavement ). Apart from that I had a piece of steak for lunch , and sorted out this weeks shopping orders . Now I’m lazing on the sofa . It was very wet here all morning , but the sun has just come out , so I might venture out to feed the birds . I hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday , whatever you are doing .

Mollie, how are , and your son today ? Awwww I’m glad Jodie seems as nice as she did on the show ......and I thought the whole series was lovely , except for you know who ! Will you be joining us for Bake Off tonight ? If so , there is a thread .Hicky , you’ve been busy . I am envious of your summerhouse . I always fancied one , but I have none to put it together for me. I hope the laser treatment went ok today .

Well , it’s Celeb Bake Off  for me tonight .....but have a good evening , whatever your plans are .
