Evening Mollie.

He is in a lot of pain after the op, he has lots of pain killers but they dont do a lot do they, he is home, we have been chatting on whatsapp, he sent me the videos what apply to his ops, wow, a big job indeed.

Its funny, the fittings etc i use for the watering system were originally made by Antelco and they were founded in Australia, so he shouldnt have a problem getting them, the whole country must use them as it must be the dryest country in the world.

Ah thats so good you got to give the horse the apple, yes, rattling the gate is a good way to attract their attention.

Glad you son is improving, such a worry, hope the bloods give you an idea of the problem, hope its not too serious.

Doffie will enjoy the sun, it is getting warmer as we move closer to the sun, you will be out on your swing when the wind eases.

Those McCain chips are very good, will keep them in stock, i got 2 more bags of bread flour in the shopping as well, I said to Mrs H to put them on the delivery list so you dont have to carry them, even from the car as they are heavy.

You must have quite a shopping list for your lot so as you say you cant afford to mess that up, i'll get another fish order when the stocks ease off, but when i get a lot the delivery is free, and his fish is really the best ever, he must be so busy with this lockdown as he has deliveries about 3 days a week plus they have the shop in the busy market as well, we could go i suppose when its safer for Mrs H.

Thats handy if you got your washing dried, the rest of this month stays warm during the day on my forecast which is good.

Stay safe, stay dry and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

11c today with light rain and a fresh breeze.

Had sausage egg hash brown and black pud for brekkie.

For tea did deep fried battered cod, i made the Tempura batter, cut the fillet into 4 and had it with chips.

Only went outside to the garage freezer for food for today and tomorrows brekkie.

Made a big loaf using a Good Food recipe, i added 50% to the flour quantity to make a 3LB loaf the recipe only had flour salt and water, i included in the flour quantity 100g of wholewheat and 2 handulls of seeds, it made a very big loaf, the USA loaf pan is 26cm x 25.5cm x 10cm L.W.H.

My lad is in quite some pain, and has a machine to connect to the leg brace, the machine is an air pump, not sure what its doing, probably to do with keeping blood circulation going.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . Very wet and windy here today . I was having a very *sorry for myself * day .....so I metaphorically gave myself a kick up the rear and have kept myself very busy all day .I’ve got two loads of shredding to go in the recycle bin , once the rain eases off....I've done two loads of washing and ironing ...including bed sheet and cushion covers....I’ve dusted, and cleaned the kitchen ....ordered some stuff I need .....now I’m too knackered to feel sorry for myself ....so job done .Oh and I had a very nice pork shop for lunch ....AND ,amazingly , I’ve managed to book two M&S  delivery slots for next week and the week after ....so go me. I hope you’re all having a more relaxing Saturday than me .

Mollie , I hope you are ok down there .....the weather down your way looks awful .How is your son doing ? I’ll be around tomorrow for doi and pottery , if you’re going to watch .By the way , fantastic news ...Gogglebox is back next Friday .Hicky , your poor son is really going through it , isn’t he .Let’s just hope that the op has the desired effect , and makes all his pain worth it ....and yes, I presume the air pump is to prevent clots while he is immobile .

Oh well , it’s Sally Lyndsey , and Royal palaces for me tonight.  I hope you both have a good evening and stay warm, dry , and more importantly, safe .

Baz

Good Afternoon Baz.

A similar miserable day here as well, 11c but some light rain a gusty breeze.

Had a vid call this morning from Oz, his Crypto currencies are doing pretty good, in fact very good.

Shredded paper is allowed in the Recycle bin, not here anyway as it clogs the machines.

I had a rather tasty brekkie, salt cod, kipper fillet, bacon and 2 poached eggs, really lovely.

For tea i thawed a Lamb and Potato Vindaloo curry with rice.

My lad is in a lot of pain and needs more pain killers, he is just discharged to the local doctore, the Spire hospital gave him dressing to dress the leg himself to save going back to get his leg dressed.

I did a bit of work in the summerhouse, i needed more 13mm to 4mm reducers so took some from the old pipework i took out, the Antelco fittings i use for the watering system come from Australia, the company is in Murray Bridge South Australia so i should be able to find the components needed when my lad has his new place.

I dont usually need the watering system till mid Spring but i am planning and getting ready as much as i can, i need to spray the trees as well but too much wind, they need a winter wash and will need the anti codling moth spray as well soon before the buds break.

Have a good evening, Catchphrase, The Voice tonight, and whatever i can find, stay safe, sleep well.

sorry you have had a few not so good days. At least by keeping busy meant you couldn't overthink stuff. But this damn virus is the pits for us all, and even worse for you living on your own, so I know it is not easy to get on with things.

All my family are fed up now.... one son because he has been feeling ill and not able to eat in so long, one because he is fed up of the stress of online Uni working, so hard to get motivated he said, and no fun with no other students round him, daughter just bored as she can't go out. We heard on Friday we have another 3 week lockdown here, so still can't even drive to the coast or anywhere else to walk. Which I find odd because the kids age 3-7 are back at school on Monday. Maybe it is to stop the tourists flooding in like they did last time?

So glad to see Gogglebox is back though next Friday. Good Tv is so important during this long lockdown and iffy weather. And yes I will join you and your forum buddies tomorrow night for those 2 shows. Its such fun and we do need fun right now.

You did well getting M and S slots, I know they are difficult to get. Don't forget if you want one, order an Easter egg in good time, as they ran out quite early last year. I got 3 for ÂĢ10 offer for them from Morrisons for the family.

Hicky

your poor son being in so much pain, to be expected I guess after such a big op. Hope it doesn't last too long.

Not surprised the watering system parts came from Oz because they have big uses for those is such a dry country. How nice you got to talk to the family. How is the baby coming on? Is big sister sorting him out?

Your new loaf recipe sounds good and healthy too.

Son made roast dinner with his yorkshires tonight. James Martin advised to do the mix 24 hours beforhand, which he did and they were especially crunchy today.

Ill son only had 2 portions of porridge all day again. He had letter off GP today , they have found something in the blood test, but said he only needed to phone for a routine appointment and it was nothing to be panicked about. Let's hope they can give him something to help him eat because he is so skinny.

Today, the horses didn't come up to the fence even though I rattled it. Then I realsied the owner was there , so they were hanging around hoping she'd feed them. She came up to us when we stopped to feed them, and I asked if it was ok to give apples, she said fine as long as it was big pieces as small ones can choke them. They are big cart horses. She said it was also ok to give the whole carrots. Greedy horse as usual grabbed his first, and shoved the timid white horse out of the way, but we made sure we threw some to the quiete horse too. The owner told me this big horse is very greedy and bossy with the others.

Watched Ant/Dec, now the Voice.

forgot to post again last night as we watched Vera, and it seemed to go on forever!

Have a good evening both .

M

Evening Mollie.

My lad is trying to get a prescription from an out of hours as one type of tablets is running out.

Yes, not surprising the irrigation company started in Oz, they sure need it in some areas, the catalogue is 74 pages.

The little one Kyro is doing well, still on mummies milk and is a big lad all ready, sistyer is fine with him now.

Very pleased with the latest loaf, it is massive, froze in 2 halves so will last a while as i dont eat a lot of bread.

It doesnt sound as though the blood test revealed anything too serious or he would have probably sent a prescription for him, will have to see what the doc says when they talk.

Its amazing how the horses act, being bossy and greedy, i suppose a big horse needs more food than a small one, understandable.

I watched most of ant and dec, enjoyed the voice.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Hicky

hope you have had a good day and managed to get in your garden. It was mild here today and we even got a bit of warmish sun. The horses were in the stable today enjoying their hay but i had nothing to give them today anyway.

hope your son sorted a prescription out ok, its horrible when you need meds over weekends, so complicated.

Poor fella , obviously needs his meds right now .

Glad to hear you have sussed your loaf making.

We had cooked brekkie today, then I had a curry veggie burger for tea. They are very nice , from Sainsbury.

Time for DOI, well the old ones as there are so many injuries.

Then the pottery show, which I love.

Son managed 2 bowls of porridge today, not a lot but better than he was.

Goodnight both x

M

Evening Mollie.

It was better than the forecast said, it didnt rain while i was in the garden, 11c and a gentle breeze.

Been tryind to straighten the cut lengths of soaker hose, quite a problem but i want them to lay straight in the beds.

I have lowered the ends of the vine cordons, something you are supposed to do so the buds by the main trunk develope better, forgot last year and all the big bunches of fruit were closer to the ends.

Had bacon and egg on a toasted sandwich, for tea made a Brisket casserole, took a portion for tea and will freeze the rest for tomorrow.

A good job the horses didnt come over to you, they would have been disappointed if you had no food.

My lad said trhe pain is easier, either that or he is getting used to it, he has the machine on at the moment, his lad is sorting his dinner out for him.

I was going to make some fruit scones but have ran out of sultanas, so will have to order more.

I've got boxes of chocolate fudge brownie mix so going to make those tomorrow, hbought 6 packs some time ago.

That curry veggie burger sounds good anyway, but i'll stick to mine for now.

I'm recording DOi cant stand to watch all the rubbish and adverts, or the judges and hosts, i can just watch the skaters.

Glad you son can manage some food, he sure needs it.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . It was raining here first thing , but now the sun is out and it’s actually quite warm.. I didn’t sleep great last night , but I think seeing the sun has given me some energy . I have done two loads of washing .....done the duvet cover wrestle ...hoovered ...cleaned kitchen ....and done some more in the garden ....back one this time . My patio was getting covered in moss and weeds .....generously provided by the birds (or their seed) no doubt!Anyway , it was nice to get outside in the fresh air  for  a while .....even if my back is now complaining ! Apart from that , I had pork chops for lunch , and only the bin to put out for collection now , and that will be me done for the day.I hope you are all having a goid Monday too .

Mollie , hope you enjoyed our viewing last night as much as I did .....but don’t believe the rumours Kaytee was pedalling...l.just call me cougar . I reckon we are going to be stuck with darn Sal until the final though .I hope your son is continuing to improve , albeit slowly. I can’t wait for the new Gogglebox on Friday ....feel free to join us in the thread if you want to . Hicky , how is your son today ? I’m glad his pain seems to be easing a bit . Did you realise that it wasn’t a regular DOI last night ? I hope the weather is as nice over there as it is down here .

Well , not much on tv tonight ....but I’m sure I’ll find something to watch .Have a good evening and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

11c today woth the sun out and no wind, great.

Had 3 sausages with a tin of toms and a round of toast.

For tea i had the rest of yesterdays casserole with added Vindaloo paste, so good.

My new office lean back swivell chair came, got it all build then when it wouldnt work went back to the instructions as i'd thought i missed one, well, at the end afterit was built there is a line that mentions before you buiold it remove the red cap from the cylinder which is fitted to stop the cylinder opening during transit, oh dear, the cylinder fits into tapered sockets so wedges itself in, had an awful job taking it to bits again, had to get a hammer to free both ends of the cylinder but i managed it.

Have made an appointment with a local Podietry company, she comes Friday at lunchtime, she didnt have any clinic appointment for a couple of weeks.

Did some work in the garden, sprayed the trees with Winter wash as there was no rain or wind, a good job done.

Did some tidying in the greenhouse, i had put 4 boxes of plant feed etc in buckets to dry as they get damp in the small garden shed.

I have the 8 pieces of 230cm soaker pipe fastened to strainers to get them straight rather than curved.

Will have to see what Boris says tonight about easing the lockdown, i need the gardener pretty soon.

My lads leg is very swolen, he puts the circulation pump on whenever he can, the pain has eased a bit, the meds make him very groggy and sickly, probably another side effect of the meds.

I recorded DOI as i dont want to watch anything but the skaters.

I've got some recording to watch so am ok for tonight.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

thats good you got in the garden today, and enjoyed the sun. It was sunny here too today, so I enjoyed our walk in the warm sun. Sorry you didn't sleep well, hope you fare better tonight.

Yes I did have good fun with our forum chats last night. Cougar does sound a fun and suitable nick name for you.

I agree, looks like we can't get rid of potery Sal. All the others are nice though.

I hear Jason has had to drop out of DOI because of that bad back. What a shame. I hope they don't give up on DOI  completely.

Hicky

glad you too got the good weather to manage to get things done in the garden and greenhouse.

Oh dear, that does sound like you had a lot of messing around with the office chair. Hope you are happy with it now.

that's good your son's pain has eased a little. That's the trouble with pain relief meds, they can make you feel unwell.

Hope he carries on improving.

I had jacket potato, beans, cheese and mayo for tea, and the last of my oat crunch.

Rang the doc at 8am as they asked for son to get phone appointment. but still nothing by 4pm. MrM had to go to village so popped to sugery where you can ring intercom. They said they'd ring by 6.30, but no they didn't! So we still don't know about the blood test. I will ring again tomorrow. He had a couple of big bowls of porridge, so he is improving slowly but needs more food than that.

Watched the forecast and it looks like we have some nice dry weather to come, which is great.

Am watching the new series of "Forgotten", the itv series at 9pm, I enjoyed the other series.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes the office chair is a corker, very pleased with it, not with the instructions, you would think that if you had to remove a part for the chair to work you shouldnt be able to finish building it, the little part that has to be removed is about 1cm wide and red, well i never noticed it as it looked like part of the cylinder to me, if it had got tape across it stopping me fitting the cylinder i would have taken it off, but there was nothing stopping me fitting it.

My lad sent me a picture of his knee, very swolen of course but not much he can do, he puts the machine on which cools it for him.

You had a nice tea anyway, a fave of mine that, going to have eggs on toast for brekkie tomorrow, might have fish for tea as i have loads.

Thats not a very good service from your surgery, surely they should do better than they are, you and your son need answers on what is causing his problem, yes he sure does need more food.

Watching Salvage Hunters, got loads of recordings yet.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok last night.

Warm and wet and windy today with 11c and gusts, not ideal for me.

Had 3 eggs on toast for brekkie, with a some smoked salmon offcuts for midday snack, going to have the rest in a minute, for tea had a plaice fillet with chips and a Vindaloo gravy.

Didnt do anything outside, apart from going to the garage for the fish, a gusty wind isnt really ideal to be outside.

Just watched a few programs on the tv.

Had an email from the tree company, having prolems getting the plum tree from the Netherlands because of paperwork.

Had an email from the trail camera company asking if i want to test a dog trainer kit with remote control, i told them i dont have a dog, had another email from the same company asking if i want to test a new H60 trail camera for free, i have to buy it from Amazon, send them a screen shot of the order then make out a 5* review, pay for it by Paypal then they will refund me to Paypal, they must think i am stupid.

Will find some programs to watch tonight or i'll watch some recordings.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I had another disturbed night ....and today hasn’t gone exactly to plan !Firstly I managed to splash bleach on my new skirt ....totally ruined ! Then I got up this morning to find my stone bird bath had fallen over !! I guess the rain had washed away some of the soil and the wind did the rest !! Of course I had a right struggle to get it up again ....it weighs a ton .... and at one point I fell backwards into a plant pot ....luckily my big rear and the solar light broke my fall ! I'm ok , but I think I might be a mite stiff by tomorrow !! Being *well covered * has it’s advantages !! I had to put it upright cos it was the Ducky one that Mr B mended just before he died , so it's special .....but don't worry , if it happens again I will leave it there until the gardener starts again sometime in the next few weeks . Aside from all that I’ve anti bac’d the shopping delivery ....and a Boots delivery , dusted ,  and had lamb chops for lunch .I hope everyone else is having an enjoyable, and accident free ,  Wednesday .

Mollie , how annoying about the surgery not ringing you ....fgs a phone call doesn’t take long !I hope you’ve got the result now .Yes, I heard about Jason having to pull out ...what a shame . I think it will only take one more accident to cancel the programme .Hicky, your poor son....I really feel for him .I only had one load of meds ....directly after the op....cos they upset my ibs .....and being immobile that wasn’t a good  idea . I hope he gets more comfortable soon .

Well it’s BBC4 for me at 8 , then I’m not sure what after that .Have a good evening both ....take care and stay safe.

Baz

Evening Baz.

WSorry to hear you had a bad nights sleep, that didnt help for a start, and the rest of the day was even worse.

Wow, quite a day you had, you are lucky to escape serious injury, that must have shaken you up all right, the bird bath base should be mounted on a big concrete flag which is as wide as the top of the bath to give more stability, soil etc can wash away or sink which isnt good, a birdbath with a narrow base and wide top is pretty unstable really.

At least yu got some deliveries and a nice chop.

It was 12c here with rain and a gentle breeze, had bacon on toast for brekkie and a pork chop with mash for tea, made some apple sauce to go with it and some gravy.

I had 1 delivery of 2 items, a 90 roll of bin bags for the kitchen bin and a box of Mamma Bear wet wipes.

My Son has more scars now than he had last time, they reopened the last op scar, must have cut the scar tissue out, plus he has scars because they have to drill oles from his shin into the knee to secure the cords pulling the tea into place, when he posted the leg the other day the dressing was covered in blood, he said the pain seems to increase during the day.

I havent had the bill from the roofing company after i rang them to see if i could get a reduction in the bill as they only did 20% of what the quote said, so i'm still waiting.

Just watching Outback Opal Hunters.

I'll see whats on tv tonight, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

sorry you didn't sleep well and what a shame about the bleech ruining your new skirt.

Gosh you could've hurt yourself wrestling with a heavy stone bird bath.Good job the plant pot and solar light broke your fall.

Yes after I too have had falls in the past, I do know the extra padding does help protect you. Lucky as the bird bath is so special to you, that it did not get damaged. Hope it doesn't happen again, but I think you now know, it is best to leave it till someone else can shift it again.

That show about clever birds was enjoyable,so worth you watching on iplayer, even if you don't like the presenter.

Hicky

good job you do like your chair after all the fiddling. Did you get it off amazon? My son needs a new office chair for his studies/gaming.

Your poor son, his knee sounds awful! No wonder he is in so much pain. Hope it doesn't take long to heal now.

Didn't realise the roofing company had only done 20% of the work. You certainly should have a price reduction for that!

A remote control dog trainer kit!     Whatever next.

Oh dear, turns out the doc couldn't get us on home phone number,so it wasn't their fault, our call blocker was playing up.

But they did ring son this morning, his blood test showed something was a bit low, but son can't remember what. (as he can't wait to get off the phone if it is with the doc!).   He has given him more tablets and a giant bottle of Gaviscon. So hope it helps him eat a bit more.

Went for usual walk with family, but ankle was so painfull, had to come home. Later doggie wanted a walk, so I took her a walk as MrM had gone to chemist for son. She walked a fair way for her and luckily my ankle was ok this time.

Looking forward to watching The Bay tonight.

Have a good night both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I didnt buy the chair, Mrs H bought it for me as she thought the new one i bought was a toy, i'll see if i can find it on the web, it took months to get here, probably got stuck on the border coming into the country.

The roof people didnt need scaffold, they didnt remove the old felt, they didnt paint the roof with an undercoat or whatever they were going to do if it was bare wood, they didnt need to remove the scaffold, they didnt need to remove all the old roofing felt. they just put the new felt on with a big blow torch.

Hope you lad starts to eat more soon, you could ring the surgery to find out about the blood test, its best you know really so you can google it.

You need to be careful going for walks, dont go too far as you could hurt yourself getting home.

Just watching tv as it come up, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok last night.

Not a bad day at all, 10c Sunny and a moderate breeze.

Had sausage on toast for brekkie, for tea i decided to have some Ox Tongue & Lime Pickle sandwiches as a small seeded Hovis appeared in the shopping, oh and a Hot X Bun as well.

The shopping was delivered this morning, the window cleaners came, spent a lot of time in the garden with it being so nice, sorted out more jobs in the greenhouse and in the somerhouse i put more watering fittings into the soaker hose pieces so i can get them all together to heat the pipe in warm water to finish securing the fittings.

Will have top look whats on tv tonight, got loads of recordings anyway.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Hicky x

with all that work they didn't do, I should think your final bill should be a lot less.

That was lovely that you could get out in the garden for so long with the weather being good. It was really spring like here too. Luckily my ankle was ok so I managed the longer walk. MrM has an achy hip thought that comes and goes. So he has had to take ibuprfen this time. Getting older is no fun is it?

Did you get everything you wanted with your food delivery? Ours is coming later tonight. The delivery cost half the price is we had the 9-10 slot, so I did. We are having Sainsburys tonight. I like their home bake seeded bread.

Had curry lentils with veg for tea.

Son has been given more tablets and medicine, so hope they help. He has eaten a bit better today though.

Watching Lewis the detective tonight, as there isnot much else on.

HOpe Baz is ok.

Goodnight both

M

Evening \mollie.

Yes i was hoping for a smaller bill when i rang, the receptionist said she would get the one who did the quote to ring me, then she must have spoken to him and said he would speak to the roofer and get back to me, but they havent.

Mr M probably needs a new Hip, sure no fun getting older.

Glad your son got some more meds and has eaten better, hopefully he is on the mend.

Just flicking through the stations, trying to do 1 clean install of windows 10 as the Puter seems to be crawling along, no idea why yet so trying things out.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Welcome back . Well we’ve not had a major outage like that for a long while . In other news , I slept better last night , and it’s a chilly , but mainly sunny day here chez Baz . I have done two loads of washing , cleaned kitchen and done some pruning in the back garden . I was going to do some weeding , but the lawn is still waterlogged so I couldn’t get to the main flowerbeds ! I had a pair of blue fits , and a pair of great tits checking out my bird boxes today , so I’m hoping they might nest. Apart from that I’ve had chops for lunch again ....and now I’m watching tv . I hope everyone else is having a good Friday .

Mollie , I hope the new meds are helping your son , and that your ankle has settled down today . I’m really looking forward to Gogglebox tonight ....are you ?Hicky, I hope the roofer got back to you today . ..it’s so annoying ! How is your son doing ? Is his leg any easier ?

Well my viewing is sorted for tonight .Have a good one , whatever you are doing . Take care .

Baz

Evening Baz & El Torro.

Didnt know forum was down as only pop in around now.

Glad you slept better, you really need good sleeps dont you.

Did you clean the bird boxes out or are they new ones, that reminds me i have 2 to install, but where?

You wear me out with what you dod in a day, i had a bacon and black pud toasted sandwich for brekkie, for tea made battered cod pieces and chips.

Did a lot outside, it was 11c and sunny all day with a gentle breeze.

The Podietrist came and did my toe nails, so glad for that.

I wouldnt have a lawn for that very reason, there was one here when we moved, like walking on a sponge, the lawn we have now is fake grass and fantastic.

No word from the roofing company, isnt that strange, ah well, i'll wait.

My lads leg isnt too bad but with it being so swolen and he has to strap it in the metal frame to keep it straight so its such a problem.

I suppose they had to shorten DOI havinbg lost so many sketers this year, wish they would lose the Judges.

Stay in stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Baz

glad you slept ok , that would be great if those birds nested, fingers crossed. You have been busy again.

We too had the lovely spring weather, hope it lasts.

so glad Gogglebox is back tonight, think I will watch Vera first, then save Gogglebox for tomorrow.

DOI...Not suprised they have had to bring the final forward with all the dancers they have lost.

Hicky

that is brilliant the podiatrist came,  I know you have been struggling for some time with that.

Yes Baz wears me out too reading all she does. She must have so much energy.

Glad you too got this beatiful spring weather. It was so nice on our walk today, the buds are coming out, the horses seemed to have extra energy running round the field and the birds singing so loudly.

Son a bit better again today, so am pleased these meds seem to help. As well as tablets, he has a giant bottle of Gaviscon Advance now that the doc gave him. Seems to suit him better than the other medicine did.

Had veggie burger and some left over small potatoes in butter in the oven, they came out really nice. Save throwing them away.

Tv time now, ,have a good evening. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes i had to give up trying to do my toe nails myself, i probably messed them up but she didnt say so, mind you i didnt ask, but i feel happier now, for ÂĢ32 i cant complain.

I suppose the horses are glad to see a nice day to run around the field, birds will be very vocal they are looking for love.

Glad you son is improving, the medicine is calming his stomach but what is causing the problem you wantt to know.

I never throw away left over potato, can always fry or do something with it.

I have my salt cod in water desalting and have kippers in the fridge, but a pack is so many i will open and freeze half.

Just watching Slavage Hunters but so many stations now run the same shows every night i keep finding repeats.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slep well last night, and had a good Saturday.

Nice today, a cool start but 10c this afternoon with Sun and no wind to speak of.

Had the salt cod with kipper and bacon with 2 poached eggs, so good, for tea just cooked a fillet steak with onions and toast.

Did more work on the watering system, if i put hot water into a cup i can dip the hose ends in and push it over the fittings.

I dont know if its ok to get the gardener, last time i rang him he said he couldnt get a Covid test as they only give them to NHS staff etc now, i'm sure he is allowed, i've had the roofers, Podietrist, window cleaners.

Watching ITV as its got good shows on tonight.

Will make a Rib Beef dinner tomorrow using veg and some roasties, reminds me, must take a piece of beef from the freezer.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Just heard, Love Island Oz starts Monday ITV2 & ITV Hub.

I would have thought it ok to have the gardener, as he is outdoors and not in the house. One thing the scienctists all seem to agree on, is outdoors is not a problem. (provided you aren't next to each other singing, shouting or talking loud)...

That is certainly ÂĢ32 well spent for the personal important at home service.

Beef will be a change from your usual fish meal tomorrow.

We will be having a cooked brekkie in the morning, like we usually do on Sundays.

That;s good you had good weather to get in the garden again.

We did too, the horses have been moved to the far field now, to give the other field's grass time to regrow I guess. The pair of ducks we see and the chickens were still in the old field though.

It was so warm today, didn't need my coat. I even sat out on the swingchair, and read my book for awhile.

Daughter got us Dominoes pizza deal delivery for tea, which was nice.

Watched Ant/Dec, now watching The Voice.

Hope Baz had a nice day.

Yes, i thought it would be ok, i think he was morried that he could a carrier with no sumptoms but cant get a test, when i last rang him he said maybe a couple of weeks, so i'll ring him next week.

Not sure what you mean, i dont have fish on a Sunday Dinner, usually have a meat, but much prefer Rib Beef.

I think its a Full English brekkie in the morning, but if we have a vid call it could be delayed.

Dont blame you sitting out if its warm enough, the lack of wind here was great.

The Pizza delivery was so good of Daugher, saves a lot of work cooking.

Watching the Voice, got bored with A&D so went elsewhere, Salvage Hunters.

Yes, hope Baz had a good day.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  . I hope you’ve had a better night (and day ) than me ! I had a terrible night , both physically and emotionally ....so only got about an hours sleep. I’m still not feeling 100%....but I’m up , dressed and have done a bit of tidying up and some washing ....and I’ve just had a bite of lunch ....so....... Only good part of today was that a friend stopped on the way to her daughters , and we had a chat across the front lawn.

Mollie , glad your son is finally improving .Are you looking forward to doi and pottery tonight .Sorry you couldn’t join us for Gogglebox ....did you enjoy it though ? Lee and Jenny cracked me up as always .And what about the brother getting married ? Hicky , having a gardener shouldn’t be a problem ....I’ve had one every two weeks throughout the year ......he stays well away ....if we need to speak it’s from across the lawn ......and I pay him via my online banking . I’ve never asked him about a Covid test .....and I have a window cleaner too . How is your sin doing ? Is his pain any less ?

Well you know my viewing schedule for tonight ....I hope you both have a good evening , and stay safe .

sorry you had a bad night, hope its better tonight.

How nice you got to chat to a friend, even it was just over the lawn.

I am indeed looking forward to tonights tv and forum chat.

Haven't had chance to catch up yet with gogglebox, but will.

I think that was a lovely birthday gift from your forum friends. I hope the birds make use of it this spring.

Hicky

I forgot it was Sunday, so that is why I said you usually go for fish as I thought it was a week day.

So hope you enjoyed your beef today.

HOpe you got the lovely weather we got here today, so you could get out in the garden. I have been outdoors most of the day. Lovely day. Wall to wall sun, and only a little breeze, so we had a nice little walk, all my washing dried, and I sat with my book in the swingchair. Can't be bad for February.

Glad we have an ordinary DOI today, and then the pottery which I always enjoy.

Its good news here in Wales on covid, around 240 cases, so vastly down, it has been going down quickly the last couple of week, and only around 10 cases in my Borough for the last few days, and that covers a large area, including 3 small towns. I so hope this is a good sign for all of the UK. Its due to the strict lockdown that a vast majority are sticking firmly to. Our area was the worst in UK at one time

Have a good evening both

Time to enjoy my bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs now.

M

Evening Baz.

Sorry you had a bad night, it sure will mess your day up.

At least you had a natter with a friend, so all not so bad.

My lad still in pain, he sees a nurse nexr week, they might take the staples out, he showed me the wound it looks a bit better than it was.

I forgot to put the bird boxes up, will look tomorrow.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening Mollie.

Yes, had Rib Beef with carrots and cauli with roasties and gravy, fro brekkie i had a full english minus black pud and mushrooms.

Its been a glorious day with 10c Sunny and no wind, got a few jobs done, it was 20c in the summerhouse.

Got more done, been sorting 4mm tube out to link the watering rinds with the main soaker pipe, needs about a foot each, there are 14 rings, still loads to do but no hurry.

Had a nice vid call from Oz, the little one smiles, he sure is bonnie, that mummies milk must be good stuff.

Thats good news about the Covid by you, the transmission is going down in most areas now.

My lad who works for the gas board just messaged me, he gets his Jab tomorrow, his Mrs also so thats good, he they have 2 children at school, one a step son with special needs.

I havent got any mini eggs, just choc bars.

Stay in and safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

Good Evening All.

Hope everyone slept well on this 1st March St davids Day.

9c today with Sun and a gentle breeze, very pleasant, warm in the summerhouse.

Had a bacon and egg on toasted sandwich for brekkie, for tea i made a Vindaloo Curry and had a portion of Beef from yesterday, got another portion to freeze as well.

Rang the gardener, he's had a Jab, he is hoping to be with me Wednesday.

I did more work on the watering system, fitted more parts together using hot water, have still got about 20 more to fit on the soaker hose, 14 x 4mm 1ft tubes to fit to the reducing T's, i have put a screw in spray head in each of the 14 tubes to stop dirt getting into the tube when i put soaker frame into the raised bed, i then remove the spray head and connect the tube to the soaker ring.

Installed the 2 Bird boxes, found 2 pieces of deck plank about 4ft long and screwed the bird box to the top then fitted the plank to the raised bed virtical posts thast support the overhead frame, it is were the scarecrows usually go but they were so damaged i had to bin them.

Mrs H working in the morning so i'm going to make some fruit scones, she has a Sainsburys delivery booked for thursday again.

Love Island Oz starts tonight on ITV2 at 9pm, cant wait.

Stay safe and sleep well.

thats good you too had the nice weekend weather and got in your garden, along with a call from Oz. Aaww how sweet for you to see the baby smile now.

And nice you got plenty done outide today too. MrM too has been busy making a bird box, he also bought one from Amazon as he didn't have enough wood to make two (it was German when it came). He used the legs from an old coffee table my friend was dumping when she moved to make one.

What choc bars do you have?

Hope the weather is dry for the gardener to come on Wednesday.

I love home made fruit scones. Does MrsH like them?

We had sausage, carrots, mash, peas with gravy for tea.

Hope your lad gets on ok with the nurse next week and he gets the staples taken out.

My son is feeling a bit brighter today, ate a bit more, although he is sitll eating a restricted diet.

Nice day here too again , enjoyed a walk down the lane.

Uni son had another online meeting with 3 of his lecturers. He is finding it hard without the other students, the lecturers also said it is hard work organising all the individual and group meetings instead of going into Uni. Can't see them going in until after Easter now, as the Welsh government want caution. They have said they are not happy with Boris's plan to restart iintenational flights so soon, because of what happened last time. I am hopeful rated continue to fall so my friend can meet me in the garden again and we can go down the coast again.

Watched The Bay tonight, really good.

Hope you slept better Baz.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, lovely to see the baby, he was laughing at seeing us, we could make him laugh, so funny, my lad is thinking of touring the world resorts for a year before he gets somewhere to live.

It takes quite a lot of wood to make a bird box and you have to make the back removable for cleaning every year, a feeler where Mrs H works makes them so she got 2 off him.

I get the Cadbury's mini bars, pack of 10, they sent a different one on Thursday, a little pack of 6 mini bars.

Mrs H prefers the scones without fruit, but eats them anyway, i like the fruit.

Its in a week the Lad sees the Nurse, i was thinking it was this Monday, no.

Its hard for your lad with the online tutoring etc, very hard.

How is son doing with the eating problem, have you found out what the blood result was yet?

Strange the Welsh government not wanting travel opening up, the country has to move on, the debt is cripling us, and all the ones likely to die have had the Jab, the young ones arent a worry, and as long as you follow the rules you should be ok.

People are only catching the virus because they arent following the rules, its not rocket science just simple logic.

Face Mask, 2m apart and wash your hands, i wear rubber gloves myself.

The Welsh government, same as the Scottish, they are trying to show they can go it alone, living in a dream i think.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky . Very overcast this morning , but the sun is out now. I had a so so night ....not as good as the day before .....but I’ve been quite energetic today .I’ve done two loads of washing , cleaned kitchen and bathroom, hoovered , fed birds and rescued the bins .  I had bacon chops for lunch , and I’ve  taken delivery of something I ordered at the weekend ....and apparently my new bedroom rug will be here in next two days ....so not a bad day , all things considered . The only downside is that the new slippers I bought don’t seem to  like my  ankle . Anyway , I hope your Tuesday is going well , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , good result on Pottery ...not so good on doi . I’m glad your son is feeling a bit better ....but I can understand how your other son feels about uni .Two of my grandkids are in the same boat ....I just hope things continue to get better , and they can all get back to normal study....but I have to say I’ll believe it when I see it . Hicky , I agree about it not being rocket science ....but so many people seem to ignore the rules , and then wonder why things go pear shaped , but will be the first to complain if we have to go into lockdown again !I went out for a 20 minute walk yesterday ....first I’ve had since last autumn ....and not one person was wearing a mask . Glad your gardener is coming though ....although with the amount  you do in the garden I’m surprised you need one .

Well not a lot on tv tonight , so looks like we are going to be watching Nature programmes Have a good evening both ...and take care .

Oooo I nearly forgot ......there is a brand new GPs Behind Closed Doors on C5 at 7 o’clock.

Baz

Evening Baz.

At least you didnt have too bad a night, thats better anyway, you do so much in a day, you sure need those bacon chops.

Why doesnt your ankle like the new slippers, of course slippers wont give you any support, maybe you need a higher fit to give ankle support.

It was 8c today, Sunny all day with a gentle breeze, did more tidying in the greenhouse ready for the big tubs to go in.

Had cheese and Toms on toast for brekkie, for tea had a big bowl of Korean seafood noodle soup then a beef burger with onions.

Made a tray of fruit scones as i just fancied some.

Yes, i dont understand people ignoring the Covid rules, they just arent interested it seems.

I need the gardener because i cant pull or lift the heavy tubs, and collecting the leaves he uses his blower, but i cant keep bending down picking leaves up as it leaves me breathless so quick, if its a job i can do i work for 5 minutes then rest for 10, i can manage that way.

Well, i am ok as i have the Australian Love Island tonight as last night on ITV2 at 9pm, and its on everyday for 6 weeks i think.

Keep safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok last night.

8c again, it forecast rain but none appeared which was good as the gardener came, he moved all the stuff around for me and removed all the leaves from the Oak, such a problem, it needs a good prune.

Had 4 soft boiled eggs for brekkie and for tea had Beef Vindaloo ove McCains oven chips, pretty tasty.

Made the shopping list out Mrs H put it online with her list for delivery in the morning.

I'll be able to carry on with work on the watering system, can finish it in the greenhouse now as the gardener has put the 4 tubs in, will have to add some old manure and dig it in ready for the plants in May.

Mainly the work thats left to do is on the watering system and i should be able to do that myself.

Will be making more Scones, i found out why i couldnt get the dough from the cutter, the cutter had a hollow ring in the middle, maybe for strength but it stops the dough coming out, they would be ok for biscuits i suppose, i might try making dough rolls then slicing with a sharp knife, or maybe cut the dough into squares the size i want.

Had no word from the roofing people about my bill, and my Lad had the staples out, it doesnt look too bad, still swollen but less painful than it was.

There is darts on ITV4 from Friday till Sunday, day and night, 5 hours in the afternoon and 4 hours at night, 12:00 till 5pm then 7 to 11pm, the 2021 UK open so thats me sorted, it means recording some normal shows though.

stay safe, have a good evening and sleep well.

Hicky
