good job the sound worked ok on the tablet, as I am sure you would of missed each other if you hadn't had your nice chats, especially this time of year.

Aaaw how sweet of your young grandson to think of you come and visit you with some Lindt. He has good taste then, I love Lindt, and we all know, you do enjoy a choc or two. Such a shame this dam covid meant you couldn't even ask him in.

And then you get more chocs off MrsH as she doens't want it. Sounds like these treats will last you until Easter.

We too had a nice sunny day today, very cold though, but much prefer that to the heavy rain and wind we had recently.

Good job you have the heater in the summer house, it is certainly cold there this time of year.

Glad you are enjoying your darts.

We enjoyed the dog walk today, had to wrap doggie up well and she was still shivering when we got back, but she still likes to go out.

Son made korma curry with left over turkey today, and I had left over veg with 2 yorkshire, also left over. I enjoyed it all, even though it was left overs.I did add a couple of mini quiches to it though.

Watch Bradley walsh and his son tonight.

Hope Baz is ok.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

We had been using the tablet for vid calls since the updates ended on the laptop last year, i should have updated it for free before last June but i didn't know.

We have loads of sweets and chocs in the house and so much food it would last an awful long time.

Glad you were able to take the dog for a walk, a chap on another forum was saying he had snow, he is just south of Birmingham.

Korma curry too mild for me, good flavour but no bite.

All the Christmas meats are finished now, have got loads more in the freezer though for new year or before.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Woke to quite heavy snow , but then it turned to drizzle ....now the sun  is out More forecast for tomorrow I slept quite well last night , so  I have been quite effective today ....cleaned kitchen and bathroom , ordered grandsons birthday present and card , and got bin in Apart from that I’ve paid my credit card bill....which was extreme painful Hope you are all having a good Tuesday .

Mollie , how is your leak ? At least the rain has stopped for a couple of days . I managed to get both a Sainsbury’s and a M&S delivery slot this week ....trouble is they are both on the same day ....tomorrow ....the neighbours will think I’m starting my own shop By the way , I saw an advert saying Dancing on Ice starts on the 17th Hicky , if you have spare chocolate you can always sling some my way . How are your eyes ? Mine are getting quite bad ....I really need to go to the opticians , but there is no chance until I have had my vaccination !

Well it’s Masterchef and Chatsworth for me tonight . I hope you both have a good evening , and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

No sign of snow here cold mind at 5c max and sleet but had sun all day with a gentle breeze.

Glad you slept ok thats what you want.

Thought you paid your credit card before the 19th of the month, you said the other month and i missed my payment, they sent me a message so i paid it a day late but they didn't charge me the ÂĢ12, or do you just pay it off.

Oh DOI, love that, cant wait, i have chocolates coming out of my ears, on the tables in the lounge and dining area there are big tines and big jars of chocs etc, and cakes, wow, iced cakes everywhere, had a Panettone before, trying to work my way through it all.

Had 4 thin sausages for brekkie with a chili dip, for tea i fried some Haggis mixed with kethup, mayo and chili/garlic spread, had it over fries, wow.

Rang the Roofcare people they will ring me in the new year to arrange the job.

Did some more work outside on the vine cage, coming on.

My eyes are just the same, next check up is beginning of Feb.

Stay in and stay safe.

Evening All.

Hope everyone is well and slept well.

Cool here today at about 4c with hail rain etc and some sun, with hardly any wind.

Everytime i went out in the garden because it was sunny it started to rain, come back in and the sun comes out again, got some work done though, cut 2 pieces of the mesh, couldn't do more as it is hard on the hands with the mesh wire being so thick, have got 2 pieces in the summerhouse now so i can fold the spikes over under cover.

Had cheese on toast for brekkie and for tea i was going to have a steak but Mrs H fancied a takeaway delivered so i have just had a hot n sour soup, got curried prawns in the kitchen with chips to have, put them in the oven whil i had the soup.

Mrs H bought a new rotary pad thingie for cleaning the floor, a rechargable one, you can put a liquid in to clean as well.

She has ordered a new seat for me at the computer, the last one i bought was only cheap and she isn't happy with it.

Great news about the Oxford Vaccine, that is needed so bad.

Keep safe and sleep well.

Baz

glad you slept well and had a productive day.

Yes its not pleasant when the credit card bill comes through just after Christmas. Ours arrived on Chrismtas Eve.

You did well managing to get 2 deliveries in. I have an asda one tomorrow. I often get 2 a week, then I can get stuff off one that the other is missing.

So glad we don't have too long to wait for Dancing on Ice. I saw an advert for the 2 professionals who are going to do a show dancing somewhere cold (Artic I think). So that looks interesting.

Bet the snow looke lovely for you. Very boring here, not one flake!

Hicky

it was cool here too today, but at least it was dry, so can't complain.

Good job you managed to get a few things done inbetween the showers.

That is a nice treat to have a takeaway, think we are having one tomorrow for New Years Eve. Not sure what yet though.

MrsH is right, you must have a decent chair for your pc as you use it so often.

Is MrsH pleased with her floor cleaner?

That is good they didn't charge you the ÂĢ12 for being a day late with the credit card.

Took dog a walk, we were thinking of going to the seafront one day, but just realised we are not allowed to go in the car for a walk, you have to only go within walking distance of your home, unless going to buy essential stuff.

The beauty spots have been invaded again with English tourists  Hundreds and hundreds of cars arriving, even a mini bus full of tourists from London. So they are tightening up on it now with road checks and closing car parks. The hospitals are full , even the overflow field hospital. So needs must.

Goodnight both xx

M

Evening Mollie.

The new floor buffer/mop thingie is ideal as it has the weight to push down, the other one was too light, they drive themselves anyway.

I used to have a big lean back armchair but the arm rubbed against the desk and wore out, thats in the summerhouse.

Its going to be a while before we have our freedom back by the looks of it, the Oxford Vaccine needs a repeat vaccination after 12 weeks i see.

Hard to believe all the cars and mini bus going to Wales, madness in this mess.

Glad you got a little walk with the dog.

Keep safe ans sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   A better day weather wise , and I slept ok last night .....but I’m feeling very down today . Not really sure why , but probably a combination of things ...including New Year Eve, and the fact that it’s so quiet around here today that it’s almost oppressive Consequently , I have done naff all. I hope you are all having a better day than I am

Mollie, yes, I also tend to use two deliveries to try and get missing itemsWe are now in tier 4 , along with most of the country .....I just wish they would close all the schools for a month , I’m sure it would pay off in the long run . I just hope the new vaccines will allow us to get back to some sort of normality soon . By the way , if you’re watching Sewing Bee tonight , we have a thread.Hicky , glad you didn’t get charged for the credit card oversight .Your floor  cleaner sounds good . We had a steam mop once , but tbh it was only a cheap one and soon broke !

Well it’s Sewing Bee for me tonight ....followed by David Attenborough....so that’s my exciting New Years Eve sorted . Have a good evening both .....and all the very best for 2021.

Baz

Baz

glad you slept ok. Thanks for the Sewing Bee info, didn't realise it was on tonight, I will call into the thread if I manage to watch it live.

Agree the schools should be closed for  a long break. The covid problem was well down until schools went back in September. It is unpleasant for kiddies anway not knowing what is going on. My friend never knows when her kids are going to be in/out of school eg a kiddie on the school bus got it, so it was 2 weeks isolation for all the other kids. And then a kiddie in the class got it, so another 2 weeks isolation. Another person I know withdraw their 6 year old boy when they got a letter saying the little boy would have to stay in the same desk, same classroom all day, no playtime. She said it was stressing him out so much, he was better working from home on his lappy and being able to play outside.

Hope you cheer up a bit as the day goes on. I am sure your pals on the forum will help when sewing Bee starts.

Hicky

hope you are pleased with your new chair.

Cold but dry and sunny here today.

Took doggie a walk this afternoon, and in parts it was still slippy from the frost, so good job I had the doggie pram to cling onto.

Not sure if we will have anything special for tea, but we will miss our usual meal and Elvis/Tom Jones New Years eve party this year, as we have been going to it for years.

Oh well as long as we are well, is what matters. Let's hope not too many break the rules and have big house parties tonight.

It's tv and maybe our kareoke Playstation game I expect.

Have a good New Years Eve all. Certainly diffierent for most this year. And good riddance to 2020. Little did we know this time last year what was going to hit the world. Let's hope 2021 knocks the damn virus on the head one way or another.

M

Evening Both.

Baz, glad you slep ok, pity your feeling down though, a new yew starts soon, hope it better than the old one eh.

Mrs H seems happy with the new floor cleaner so thats good.

Did very little outside, the snow disappeared from most places in the garden, i did some work in the summerhouse bending down and flattening the wire where it had been cut.

Had a vid call at 1pm as it was fireworks time in Oz for new year celebrations over Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Mollie, Not sure when the new chair is arriving, havent been told that.

Glad you managed to take doggie out, but you need to be careful if ground slippy.

I had sausages with a dip for brekkie and for tea did a taste the difference fullet steak with onions and mushrooms.

Yes 2020 was quite a shock for everyone, sure hope 2021 will bring hope and normality back for most in the world.

The darts have a break today and resume Fri/Sat/Sun.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Happy New Year Everyone.

Cool again today, didn't go out 5c with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Mrs H was working 8 till 12 so i made the Shrimp Vol-au-Vonts for when she came in.

Also she made a Roast Pork Dinner with the usual and also the apple sauce to go with the pork.

Been watching the darts this afternoon and tonight, saw a lot of Salvage Hunters, i keep swapping chanells.

Resumed playing chess again after the Christmas break.

Hope everyone had a good new years eve, it was like a war zone here, pretty scary, it sounded far too close for my liking.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year Everyone
Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Cold , but sunny here ....although snow is forecast from about 4-11. I spent the morning I got taking down the tree and decorations and cleaning up  ....why does it always take longer to take the darn thing down than it does to put it up ! The lounge now looks bare and huge ! Apart from that I’ve hoovered and done a load of washing ....and not much else . I had lamb chops for dinner again , and now I’m fixed to the sofa watching trashy tv. I hope you are both having a good Saturday .... whatever you are doing ?

Mollie , the Sewing Bee was fun , eh. I don’t blame people taking their children out of school tbh ....although , now they’ve done a turnaround in London , I think all schools will be closed soon . And still you get Covid idiots holding parties and raves Anyway , I hope you had a good New Years Day . Hicky, the roast pork sounds yummyGlad you had your video call though . I watched the fireworks in London , and then went to bed .

Well, not a lot on tv tonight ....seems funny not having any strictly to watch ....roll on DOI .Have a good evening both ....and stay safe.

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

Cold here as well with 3c light rain and sun with a gentle breeze.

We didn't put a tree up this year as noone was coming to see it, just battery operated stuff everywhere.

The Masked Singer and the Voice are on tonight on ITV, i have Darts from 6 to 10pm so recording the tv.

Did a bit of work outside, did some in the summerhouse as i could turn up the heating.

I had kippers with bacon and poached eggs for brekkie then for tea had Chili Con Carni with Tagliatelle, tasty.

It looks like my 2nd vaccination jab will be delayed till March as they say the 1st injection should last 3 months so twice as many people can be vaccinated with the Pfizer jab.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

evening All.

Hope you are all keeping well and sleeping ok.

4c today with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Had 4 sausages for brekkie with a chili dip.

Did some work in the garden, the sun although cool pushes me on, i fastened the 3 sheets of netting down to the framework and bent the spikes on a piece i cut yesterday for the sides, another 4 110cm pieces to cut yet but no hurry, put 1 of the vine strainers back, another to do next.

Had 2 duck legs for tea, just had some Jaffa Cakes and chocies, got to eat them before they go off.

The final of the Wold Darts tonight, winner gets ÂĢ500k loser ÂĢ200k, wow, what a nice prize, doesn't start till 7:30 so got a few minutes.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Happy Monday folks .I had a poor nights sleep....at one point I dreamt I was being hung .Anyway, consequently I’ve not done a lot today ...just one load of washing and cleaned the kitchen . I actually nodded off for half an hour after my lunch....lamb chops, roast parsnips and new potatoes. Apart from that I’ve spent the day watching old Miss Marple programmes . I see Scotland is in full lockdown until February ....and Boris is going to address the nation at 8 tonight ....so it looks like England might be goimg into it too . Anyway, I  hope you are all having a good day , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , I hope you are ok Hicky, sorry you have to wait for your second jab, but I guess in the grand scheme of things .....hope you enjoyed the darts Anyway , stay safe both .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Hope Mollie is ok not heard from her this Month.

sorry to hear about your sleep, thats not a nice dream to have, wonder where that came from.

Its been 5c today with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze so have been working outside for a while

I must remember to listen to Boris, i have been waiting for a message or call from the Doctor about the 2nd Jab, not heard anything yet, its a good idea to vaccinate as many as possible.

I'm going to miss the Darts now after it being on for weeks, the Welshman Gerwyn Price won and got a massive trophy and ÂĢ500k, a nice payday.

I lost a member on another forum who went into hospital in December for some ailment and caught Covid and died, never even got home again.

Have a good evening, stay safe and keep hoping.

we too have been busy taking the decs down. As you say, it takes an age to take them down and tidy it all up compared to how quick they go up. Our house was a real mess because of the bits off the real Christmas tree.

Sorry to hear you are having such awful nightmares. It must be so tiring for you. Shame you don't see the counsellor now, they might have been able to advise. Could you thing of ringing them about this? I know I can't eat a meal after about 5.30, and nothing at all after 8pm, else I might get bad dreams, so maybe try that?

Yes the Sewing Bee was great, and I see the Pottery show starts next week. I enjoy that show too.

Hicky

I am fine thanks, just so much to sort lately and so much tv on, So on a couple of nights, I didn't realise until bedtime I hadn't posted . silly me. My days/times all mixed up with New Year tv too.

My son has been helping me make a calendar for my aunt, we went through all the old photos, some about 70 years old and he scanned them and we put together 12 piccies, one for each month.

My family are struggling at the moment with the boredness of covid and Uni lad worried about the new term and is not clear if it is all online.

I heard on local radio that a Welsh guy won the darts. Hope you enjoyed the final.

I am sorry your 2nd injection is being delayed. I think it is appalling how people going for shot 1 agreed that injection 2 would be given within 3 weeks, in accordance with pfizer's studies and advice, then the government tell the docs to change it to 12 weeks. Some docs have agreed to still do it within 21 days, as not to do so, voids original patient's consent, so you could trying telling them you still want it within the 21 days.

That is so sad how you lost a forum member to covid. It is such a terrible and cruel virus. That poor person's family would not have been able to spend time with them. Was it someone you had known for awhile?

Today we had to post a parcel,so took dog a walk somewhere else. When we got out the car, we realised we were right by the covid field hospital, and test centre, so we didn't go too close, There was security guys standing on the pavement. So depressing. It is nearly full I read, and it is just a warehouse quickly converted to those with covid who don't need intensive care. Obvisouly no  one seen to be going in visiting.

Is your son in lockdown? My aunt tells me my cousin who lives in Sydney is because of a small group of people partying on a beach!

Watched 24 hours in Police custody.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Mrs H has been removing all the decs outside and in and boxing them up, so many wow.

Glad you are ok, it seemed so long since you posted, its good that you can scan in old pictures as so many negatives didn't survive.

Yes, a worrying time for your lad, is his Uni on or offline.

I Havent been told i am not getting my 2nd injection saturday yet, was expecting a text message, so i'll have to wait, but for every person who get the early 2nd jab could mean someone might die.

No, the person who died on another forum had only been known to me for some months, but others had known her for many years.

Yes, Germyn Price won the darts, a massive ÂĢ500k prize, i think 96 started off, from all over the World of course, the best from each country.

Not sure if my son in Oz is in lockdown as he's probably working from home, but its so scary everywhere.

Keep hoping, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

4c today with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Didn't have any brekkie, was up late and Mrs H was going to make a Leg of Lamb roast dinner.

Just had some Chorizo and creamy Lancashire cheese.

Just listened to the Virus updates from Boris, another 60,000 infected 830 more deaths, 82,000 total death, this new latest strain is even more transmittable.

I've got no darts to watch so i can watch chess matches from the chess clubs with the grand masters and IMs etc, its like being in school, although a young cousin of mine taught me the game in about 1946 we didn't have the web facility to learn from, i was in a chess club for many years but i had never had instruction so i just played it ear.

I managed to do a bit more outside, cut another piece of the steel mesh and bent over the cut ends on another piece, have now got 1 to work on under cover in the summerhouse.

Rang the fish shop in the market have given them an order to be delivered Thursday.

Had a text message from my GP surgery reminding me to attend for the 2nd jab on Saturday.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

you are always welcome to whatsap me if I don't get round to posting because I generally have my phone with me, but have to sit down on my lappy to get on the forum, which on occasions takes awhile to do if I am interrupted with all the goings on in my home.

That;s good your doc is one of the ones who has stuck to the agreement and is offering the 2nd shot witin the manufacturoers. agreed time limits. Hope you get on ok.

Very cold here too today, I heard the weatherman saying it was something to do with the warmer stratosphere. And there is still no sunspots as we enter the Grand Solar Minimum, which means global cooling , with a few very hot summer days and winters getting colder. Can't complain as at least we have had sun and no rain now. The amount of rain we were getting was a worry with the flooding. We are lucky it held off as our workman couldn't come until tomorrow to fix the leaky roof.

Its good the dry weather meant you could do some odd jobs outside too.

Wow that is a great prize for winning the darts. Glad you enjoyed watching it, and can now go back to your chess games. That certainly is s lot of years you have been playing now.

Its handy you can get a fish delivery from the market. My daughter ordered a nice brekkie for us from the local shop today, which is what we needed to cheer up a "fed up" family. I had bagel with veggie sausage and advocado, she has sausage and hash brown and egg on hers, son had egg , bacon, sausage on his and MrM did too. We all had a hot drink too and she paid ÂĢ15, which is great as it even included delivery.

I had my Morrisons delivery, but half of it was missing. The van driver told me they are struggling with the lorry deliveries now. No surprise really with all the paperwork they need to sort with brexit, added to covid problems. They had no milk, but they did sub me with the longer lasting Cravendale. Quite a lot more money but was glad to take it, my family gets through loads of milk.

Watching 24 Hours in Police Custody now, watched Dogs behaving Badly earlier. Very funny it was.

Hope Baz is ok.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I was wondering if the Government gave GPs the option of keeping to the 2nd Jab for people who had the card with the 2nd date on and maybe if they also had underlying health problems, i may fit into that group as well as age.

Yes, when the sun is out i find it very hard to be inside when i could advance my project, i have 3 pieces cut for a side and need another 3, not sure how to fix it on the side, had hoped screw in hooks would do it, thats ok for the top to hang them on but the sides and the bottom, not sure, i cant get the mesh flat so am thinking of ideas to fix it but i want then to be easily removable so i can look after the vine so i need more thoughts.

I ordered this, in multiples though: salt cod, cod fillet, Dressed Crab, Plaice Fillit, Manx Kipper Fillets , Anchovies with Olives, Dover Sole , Lobster Meat frozen,

Thats great that you can get brekkie delivered, what a great idea.

I don't think the delivery problem with items has anything to do with Brexit, its the new virus strain, France closed the borders, also many drivers may be laid off with the virus as so many people have it down south.,

Been watching a video of the fish wheel in Alaska, watched the tv cornwall fishing etc, Salvage Hunters, anything that cates my eye.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Sunny , but very cold here ....and getting colder . I think we have snow forecast tomorrow , or the next day . I slept a bit better last night.....and no bad dreams ....so I feel less stressed today....yesterday I hit a metaphorical brick wall ....big style ....felt very, very low !  Anyway , I’ve worked through it , and I’ve done a load of washing , anti bac’d the first shopping delivery .....second one....M&S ....is  due this evening ....and done some general tidying . I hope you are both having a good day too.

Mollie, glad you are ok I had a couple of substitutes in my Sainsbury shop ....but, according to the invoice ,  none in my M&S delivery .....mind you , both sites were down for a while over the last couple of days ....and I’m sure things will probably get worse as lockdown bites ! But I can’t see any other way of controlling this darn virus. I will certainly be watching Pottery Throwdown .....and there will be a thread .....but think I may have to watch it on plus 1 ....at 8.45 ....cos it clashes with the new David Attenborough programme ....but I’ll let you know nearer the time Hicky , I’m guessing you will be looking forward to the snooker next week .I think I may know who you mean had died from Covid   This bliddy virus !

Anyway , it’s Cheetah Family and Grand Designs for me tonight Have a good evening both , and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz & Everyone.

Glad you slept better with those annoying dreams, you got a lot done as well, food deliveries always good, hope your M&S is delivered ok.

They shouldn't give you substitutes, what they give is crazy, on the other forum they substitutes breaded fish which was out of stock and sent vegetarian cumberland sausages, why would you do that, and you cant send them back.

Only 3c here with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Last night in bed i worked out how to fasten the side steel mesh so it can be removed without tools, so simple, screw in vine eyes, they are about 75mm x 6mm, scew 2 in 75mm apart, the first one screw in right down to the eye, you then take 150mm rod with an eye loop on the end and push the mesh over the eyes, push an eye rod through the first vine eye then take the end and put it over the 2nd vine eye, adjust the angle of the 1st vine eye so the rod is tight when pushing it over the 2nd vine eye, 2 at the top of each section of mesh and 2 at the bottom, the side by the corner wood frame needs 1 fixing, not sure yet what to do where the meshes meet, i might just use clips, i have various ones.

I don't watch snooker, used to many moons ago, i was never very good at it, maybe thats why i lost interest, have played many times over the years but never mastered the angles onto the que ball.

Made a loaf, 25% whole wheat, just had the 2 crusts and a slice with best butter and a small tin of Ox Tongue.

Got my fish delivery tomorrow, have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

sorry to hear you had such a bad day yesterday, but glad to hear you slept better, so had a less stressful day.

Thats a shame there is something else on when Pottery show is on so you might not make the thread. You will just have to let me know here who you like and maybe who you don't. i am hoping to watch live if it remains interruption free round here.

Talking about this damn virus, spoke to my neigbhour when I walked the dog today and she told me the other neighbour had died of covid. He went in hospital for something else (he was in his 80;s and had a lot of other problems), caught covid in hospital and died New Years day of it. This area is the worst in the UK for covid, so I am not surprised most I speak to now, know of someone whose had it. Rang a local friend and she knew of 2 in their 40's who had it, one was in intensive care for awhile but is good now and the other one just felt unwell at home for a few weeks. The lockdown is definately needed now to get these numbers down, especially including those closed schools!

Hicky

hope you are pleased with your fish delivery tomorrow.

You are clever working out all those complicated things you need to do whilst in bed. Hope it works out well when you do tackle it. Hopefully the dry weather will last, so you can get on with it.

It was cold here too today, about plus 4 but going well below freezing tonight.

With the deliveries i get you are able to send any substitutes back for a refund, which is good. Generally none have been as bad as the sub you describe, so sometimes I sent them back, sometimes I keep them. I would have had no milk this week if I had ticked I didn't want subs, and although more expensive, the Cravendale is a good alternative and better than no milk at all for my family They have never had no ordinary milk before but the delivery man said the lorries hadn't arrived on time this week.

I love the crusts off a freshly baked loaf. Bet you enjoyed it.

I made an oatmeal crunch tonight for after tea, delcious they are, all cruchy and sweet and so easy to make.

Watched recordings tonight.

Anyone watche 24 hours in Police Custody this week? Very interesting.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

When i was working and staying in hotels etc in various countries i often had a software problem that i solved in bed, the hardest thing was to remember the next day what i had solved and what i needed to do, in theory i should have got up and written my thoughts down but that not so easy to do.

The software i wrote was an algorithm which ended in a bit being turned to a value of 1 making it true, and sometimes i could run the algorithm conditions through my head, maybe 10 or 12 true or false conditions which need to be met and i might think of another condition what must be added to the algorithm,

Its similar to the old saying that if you have a problem leave it till the next day when it will be seen in a different light, well, that saying sure works, no doubt at all, even if i didn't solve a problem over night, it sure was easier to solve the next day.

I remember in Germany in a car factory we installing a ne converyor system but they wouldn't wait till be had finished and tested it, they used to come in on the night shift and play with the equipment untill they found a fault then left it for me in the morning, my boss used to go mad at them playing with the sustem when it hadnt been handed over, but i used to say to the boss, no, say nothing, its fantastic, finding a problem then going away was the best thing ever because i could call the exact condition up on my laptop and see the fault in the algorithm, it would take 2 minutes for me to fix, then we did tests all day asnd the Germans came at night and played around with it again, the same thing probably happened only a different error/bug in the program, the program gave a text message on a display and should say what the problem was but if it didn't i had to look why not, great fun.

You can buy dried milk, that doesn't go off and is the same as fresh, i think, i always have a small bag in the cupboard.

Yes, the fresh crusts were fantastic, the loaf will last for a while now as i don't eat so much bread, i sometimes have crumpets or wraps.

Mrs H is shopping in the morning, i am getting some streaky bacon, Heck sausages 95% pork, tomatoes, tagliatelle, don't need much got so much, those lovely Frangipane i have 3 boxes still.

have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Good Evening All.

3c today, forecast says sleet showers but we had none and it was sunny with a gentle breeze.

I managed to get some more done outside, managed to cut another piece of mesh to size and in the manshed i bent over the 74 spikes on the last piece i cut yesterday.

My fish delivery came, managed to portion up the sides of salt fish and cod, got about 8 pieces from the salt fish and 5 from the side of cod, the fish is so thick.

Mrs H came home with the shopping at 08.30 i wrapped the Heck packs of sausages, singly in clingfilm.

I must have forgotten to order the dressed crabs so have put them down on my next list.

I kept some of the fresh cod fillet back to have for tea, thawed the remains of the batter i made last time, no problem, i dried the slices of fish with kitchen towel then dipped in flour, then put in the batter, i got 5 pieces of fish, wow, that was good, love the Wok.

Will have to look what is on tv, every program i look at is a repeat.

Enjoy your evening, stay safe and get your Jab as soon as possible.

hope you slept well and had a good day.

Hicky

that's good you had suitable weather to get something done outside. Hope you were wearing your hat and coat and fleece in these cold temperatures though.

The work you did was certainly very techy. How long were you working in Germany?

Any news yet on your son and his knee, or is it still the same?

That fish delivery should keep you going for awhile now. Glad the fish came out well for your tea.

Shame you forgot the crab from your shopping. Does MrsH bring you a shop weekly?

My Asda came tonight. Only a couple of subs which was good. .

I had cheese and onion pie and veg with gravey for tea. I made some shortbread, I like it made with ground rice, doesn't last long in my family though.

Not much on tv tonight, so not sure what I'll watch.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I only had a shirt on with a zip up jumper, when i feel cold i go in the manshed for a warm.

With doing contracting work in Germany the work was done in stages, the mechanical guys went first to install the conveyancing equipment then the electrical guys went and wired the motors and limits, proximity switches etc to the control panel, then when it was all ready i went with a few guys to commission it all, i had been writing the control program while the equipment was being installed, i then loaded the program into the PLC logic controller, the type of hardware and software depended on the standard used in that country, Germany uses Siemens which really is a nightmare, the crazyest software and hardware i have ever used, it really should only be used by Germans as a punishment for using it, the best was American, Allen Bradly, loved it, it was so clever and easy to use, you could use indirect addressing which was fantastic.

I did the software for may factories, but in Dagenham FMC i did the body shop, the trim shop and most of the paint shop, was sorry to see that close, i couldn't count the amount of factories i worked in all over the UK.

My lad had his last lot on injections Monday, the doc said he was going to have an MRI in 2 weeks and a camera inside the knee, if it hasn't worked they will have to start again, oh dear.

Yes, i give Mrs H a shopping list on Wednesday night to incorporate into her own list for the morning, i didn't need much as i have stocks, she also throws stuff in with my shopping, like pies etc.

Chees and onion pies are lovely, havent got any though, i could make cheese and onion pasties, have everything for those.

I have so many food options its like living in a restaurant.

Enjoy your evening, stay safe and keep hoping.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Cold , wet and miserable here ....snow overnight , but it soon melted in the drizzle . I slept ok , but haven’t really done much today ....I didn’t even have any washing.  All I’ve done is clean the kitchen , and a bit of ironing ......so a VERY lazy day for me ! I did have a couple of nice M&S bacon chops for my lunch ....and I’ve been plugged into CNN news watching the Trump thing develop ! As a former American historian I’m finding it fascinating ....and a change from Covid !   I hope everyone else is enjoying their Friday.

Mollie , I will definitely be in the Pottery thread .....and if you are going to watch it live I will join you there ....or , we could watch it on plus 1 ......just let me know which you prefer . We watched 24 Hours in Police Custody ....very interesting , but what a dreadful woman she is ! Very sad about so many dying from Covid Hicky, wow , it sounds like you had an interesting job I will keep everything crossed for your son , and hope the injections have worked .

Well it’s a special 90 minute Gogglebox to look forward to tonight.....and yes, there is a thread....all welcome .  But whatever you are watching I hope you have an enjoyable evening , but most of all , stay safe

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, you don't need to do much these days, just keep warm.

3c today with sleet showers again and a moderate breeze.

I had some sausages and a can of tomatoes fro brekkie.

Did a little in the garden but put more clothes on, a rather warm padded jacket, i bent over 37 steel mesh end while in the manshed, and cut another piece of mesh to size, 110cm.

took a piece of salt fish from my stock for the morning

For tea i had a Puka pie with extra gravy and a pickled onion, then had the rest of the small tub of Anchovies and olives, so tasty, got 2 more tubs anyway.

Yes, very strange goings on in the states, Trump has lost the plot.

Yes, my job took me to about evert car factory in the country, i remeber one job in Southampton, i had to design a program that measured which model of van was comiong into the underfloor spray area then select a program for that model of transit, it then sprayed a certain area of the underbody with underseal to prevent rust, i used proximity ensors and photo electric beems to check which type of body it was, very interesting.

My lad goes on runs as he has to keep the joint moving, he wont know for some time yet how things are.

I'm watching Cornwall this Fishing Life, earlier it was Rick Stein's Cornwall.

Stay safe and sleep well.

glad you slept ok and have found the Trump stuff a bit of a distraction from covid.

I will check timings on Pottery and let you  know whcih time I can watch it.

What a nice surprise that we get an extra half hour for gogglebox. Do you know if its back each week now?

Hicky

hope your lads injections worked ok. Is he managing to run ok? Does he not have to use the crutch now?

that's good you wore your nice warm jacket whilst out today. It was needed in those sort of temperatures.

that Southampton job sounds very techy.

Do you use frozen pastry for cheese and onion pies?

Nice day today, cold but dry. So took doggie a walk. Had pizza , chips, salad for tea, then played a card game with family.

Enjoyed Gogglebox.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

My lad still needs the stick, he cant run he just walks, they will take another MRI soon, but hes not hopeful that things are ok.

The Southampton job was just a normal run of the mill job really, it was what we did all the time, it didn't matter what the job was i just wrote a program out of my head, i wrote the program in chapters, each chapter was to control a piece of equipment, the chapters are then linked together with a sort of stepper program that controlled the order that things happened so if a piece of equipment had a problem of some sort you could go to that part of the program to find out what was up, every piece of equipment had sensors with inputs into the PLC I/O that told me what was going on, if a lift table was up a sensor told me it was up, and another one told me it was down, and output could be set to turn a solenoid on which operated the valve to raise an air table, when i get the sensor telling me the table is up i turn the valve off which turns the air off, that is just an example, i actually controlled many dozen outputs, some controlled contactors which could start motors etc.

I keep different pastries in the fridge, but with so much food its not easy to get around to using it.

Glad you got out with doggie, i used to play a lot of games when young, darts in the pub, cards at peoples houses, snooker but i was hopeless, chess, domioes, draughts, poker and loads of card games.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you all slept well and had a good day.

3c today again, sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Forecast shows each day for the next couple of weeks warmer about 7c, great news.

Had my 2nd Covid Jab today, pleased about that, although you are covered by the 1st.

Did some more outside, cut the last piece of Mesh from the roll, quite a bit left as well, also bent the spiky ends on 1 piece that i cut the other day

Had saltfish with smokey streaky bacon with poached eggs, tried the new cooking method, time needs adjusting as the yoke was not runny, the method was get the water to a slow boil, break the egg into a ramekin, put some vinegar into the water, tip the rameking into the water gently, time for 2 minutes then take pan off the heat and time for 3,4,or 5 minutes, but of course it will depend on the size of the rgg, but the egg all stayed in one place so i was well pleased, i think the 4 minutes was too much for my not large eggs.

For Tea had Lemon Sole with potato scallops, super.

Enjoy your evening and stay safe, sleep well.

hope you feel ok after your injection. Was MrsH able to take you?

That's good it was nice weather again so you could get something done outdooors.

It was chilly but nice and dry here too today. We walked past a lot of other also going out walking down the lanes today, when we took the dog out.

Its a shame your lad still has to use the stick, when you said he goes on runs, I was thinking maybe he had been able to ditch it. Its a concern for him if he thinks the MRI will not be good news.

Your mind is like its own computer the way you worked all these codes out for work.

There are a lot of fun card games out now, so we have bought quite a few lately. We enjoy playing the Simpsons Uno game quite a lot.

I can see you have been enjoying your fish delivery food.

I had a nice veggie/cheese burger with sweet potato chips for tea.

Enjoyed the Mask tonight.

Hope Baz is ok today.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Yes Mrs H took me, got it now anyway, they said it is more powerful than the 1st so i might get a little pain in the arm etc.

Yes, it was a lovely day, couldnt get any work done outside in the morning in case i messed my clothes up so i waited till i came back.

No he goes on walks to keep the knee moving, it looks like a long road ahead.

The biggest problem is what to eat next, have so much.

Glad you got out for a walk, the forecast here shows it warmer looking ahead, only 7c but thats good.

Yes, the masked singer and then the voice, that was good as well.

Have a good evening and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Cold and wet here today , but I feel a bit better in myself  than yesterday , so that’s a plus . I didn’t sleep too badly last night , so I’ve been a more productive than yesterday. I’ve done a load of washing , cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. I had a nice piece of steak and some roast parsnips and spuds....courtesy of Aunt Bessies . I hope you are all having a nice Sunday , whatever you are doing .

Mollie, have you decided what time you are going to watch Pottery ?Im afraid it looks like the Gogglebox was a one off , cos it’s definitely not on next Friday .I enjoyed it last Friday though ....and as usual Jenny and Lee cracked me up .Hicky, well done on getting your second jab .....I’ve not heard anything from my doctor ....so I’m thinking it will probably be mid February before I even get the first dose ! I’ve never had salt fish ....but then I don’t like salt .

Well have a good evening , whatever you are watching ....and as always , stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you feel a bit better and slept ok, it lets you do more jobs, not sure why you need to.

Warmer here today at 6c with heavy cloud and a moderate breeze.

I had black pudding and i fried the rest of the battered potato scallops, nice, for tea had the rest of the boiled potatoes, sliced and fried with a Ribeye steak, wasn't impressed, unless i did it too rare, hard for me to see as the hob hood lights have packed up and i cant see much anyway so it could have been rare, anyway it was too chewy, couldn't eat it.

I spent some time in the garden, all the vine cage pieces are now cut and mesh spikes flattened so thats a good job done, can sort the mesh for the bottom of the cage now.

My arm was aching last night after the 2nd injection, they did warn me as they said this dose is stronger than the 1st one, the 1st one was to warn my body of a possible impending attack, and yesterday it came with a bang, it should be ok after a couple of days, hopefully.

Keep warm, stay dry and sleep well, hope is on the way for everyone.

Baz

glad you slept well and enjoyed your Aunt Bessie lunch.

What a shame there is no Gogglebox next week. Firday nights arent' the same without it.

Good job we have the Pottery show though.

I agree Jenny and Lee were funny and I also find the brother and sister funny too.

Hicky

that's good MrsH was around to take you for the injection. Good job you were pre-warned about this 2nd dose being strong and you would get a sore time, then at least you know it is normal. Hope it eases soon and you feel no more ill effects

Well done managing to get some work done in the garden.

MrM took doggie a walk today because we needed to walk to the village for son to get some cash out of cashpoint and it was a bit too far for doggie. A bit too far for me too, as my joints in my toes hurt! Was glad to get home for a sit down.

Had our usual Sunday am cooked brekkie and jacket potato for tea with cheese. Made some sultana rock cakes yesterday, so had one of those with double cream after.

Its Brits in the Sun today, so will watch that after Pottery show.

Have a good evening both xxx
