Evening Mollie.

Yes, the chop suey stir fry was even bettert than i had hoped, pretty simple and quick to make.

Mrs H came in from work at 10.20 am and said she didn't feel so good so wouldn't be going out tonight to see the lights, thats when i looked at my options for food, having such a vast collection of options and with the weather being pretty miserable i looked what i had in the freezer in the kitchen.

Some of the villages have tons of overhead christmas lights etc all the way down the main road, i think the shopkeepers pay towards them, also big chreistmas trees.

The doggie must look funny going out with her nose just showing, she will enjoy that though.

Pizza and chips, never had that, just have pizza on its own as i don't usually have to share.

I took all the cheese samples out of the box as it took up too much room in the fridge, they are in a ziplock bag, today i had 2 Sage Derby & Mexicana Hot, wow, that was nice will buy that cheese for the supermarket. 🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀

Looking forward to IAC final tonight, take care, stay safe and dleep tight. 🛏🛏

Hicky

Evening All.

Pretty miserable day, very damp, had a short spell of sun, 5c with a gentle breeze.

Hope you both slept ok, did very little outside just wrapped up the steel strainers i have removed from the vine bed, its all ready for the first of the netting sections when i cut them.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie, for tea we are getting a takeaway delivered, i'm getting a fish and chips with curry, hot n sour soup and a large donner meat portion, Mrs H wants fish and chips and a chop suey roll.

Been watching part 3 of the F1 practice, the qualifying is on now till 6,30 with Strictly later.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Hicky

hope you enjoyed your take away tea.

Shame its too cold for you to do much in your garden right now. Its very cold here today. Doggie hid completely under her blamkets on her walkies today, so today it looked like instead of taking a black nose for a walk, I was just taking a blanket. . Its that North wind to blame so I hear. Going below zero they say tonight.

That's good you have your F1 to watch, I too watched Strictly.

I had jacket potato, beans, cheese and mayo for tea and I made some shortbread. It is delicous when I make it using the ground rice recipe.

Hope you slept ok Baz and had a good day.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I could have done more outside but would have to put more clothes on.

The takeaway came, they forgot to put the soup in, when i rang they said  it was in the bag, i said it wasn't, they must have put it in the wrong bag, all the delivery is in a straon paper bag, they brought me one out, it was for sunday anyway, the same as the donnar meat, that was for the freezer.

F1 tomorrow isn't till 5pm so i'll have a lot of time to fill in.

Your tea sounds nice, had that a few times.

Enjoyed Strictly, have a good devening stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you are both  having a good Sunday . It’s cold and wet here . I slept ok though , but have had a very lazy day I had meant to write out some more Xmas cards , but haven’t got around to them yet . Apart from that I’ve done a load of washing, cleaned the kitchen and that’s it ! I had a pork chop for lunch and now I’m watching an episode of Midsomer Murder .

Mollie , it was lovely to see you in the Celeb and Strictly threads....I hope you enjoyed them . I think we are going to be stuck with darn Maisie until the final though ....but at least we can all moan about her together I think your doggie has the right idea staying under the blanket Hicky , I hope Mrs H is feeling better today Were you happy with the Celeb result ? I was , although I wish Mo had made it into the final . I love to see the Xmas decorations ....I miss being able to see them in town this year

Well , it’s strictly results , then Jaimie Oliver , and then Escape to the Chateau for me tonight. I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you are watching . Stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, don't do today what you can do another day, if its not urgent, leave it, love a pork chop.

Cold an miserable here as well. 6c light rain showers and a light wind.

Had 2-sausages, 1-bacon, 2-eggs, 1-slice of black pud, 3-tomatoes, 1-hash brown for brekkie, didn't bother with toast today.

Just had the hot & sour soup from last night, for tea i'm having a portion of meat stew with some mash and extra gravy.

Had a vid call this morning, son and daughter on the patio with a torch and she was trying to find spiders, they have plenty of course, very time he wanted to go back indoors she said, no daddy no, she is so bossy.

Mrs H seems ok today, she has a few days to recover as she's no back in work till next Friday.

I thought Gio would win IAC, thats why she was left in when all the other females got evicted.

I've got F1 race at 5pm, Lewis has got Covid so can't race today.

Enjoy the tv, stay safe and sleep well.

good job the soup was for the  next day as they forgot to put it in the bag. So annoying when a company does something wrong, then denies it. I hope you enjoyed it today.

I too had a cooked brekkie today.

at your little grandaughter knowing her own mind. Fancy looking for spiders, most people avoid them.

Glad MrsH seems better now. Good job she is not due back at work until the end of the week.

Baz

glad you slept ok and had an easy going day.

You've still got plenty of time for your Christmas cards yet. I have done some, but not all.

Yes I did enjoy the company in the forums thank you. As you say, we have ended up stuck with Maisie as for some reason the judges kept saving her.

I agree it was a great pity Mo did not make it to the final, as I think he had been a lot more entertaining than the winner. He was so sweet and so funny too.But overall I think it was a great series.

Such a shame you don't get to see the decs in town this year. Towns are changed completely this year though. I have only popped into ours once since March and it was dead. None of the pubs in Wales now can serve alchohol and all have to close at 6pm, as after the firebreak lockdown, the cases soared again here. Its going to be a long winter, good job we have tv and the forums to keep us occupied. I do believe the cases will drop though when the good weather arrives.

We were lucky weather wise here today, as although we got the cold via a heavy frost, we then got a nice sunny day, with a gorgeous red sunset.

This afternoon we all got ready to go to the Drive In social distanced cinema to see Elf. Put blankets in car, snacks etc. Drove to the place (big pub car park on seafront), but when we got there, no one was around. It was then I realised today was the 6th, not the 7th, we had gone a day early. Ooooppps, dizzy moment again.

When we got home daughter ordered pizza delivery for us all, so that was nice.

Sad to see lovely JJ leave the dancing today.

Doggie was well tucked under her blanket again today. But she so enjoys going out, gets up an waits at the door when its time to go. She does have another little walk without her pram in the evening, so is doing ok  for an oldie.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, the supervisor in the shop said she put it in the bag, but they do a lot of takeaways so i can only think it was put in the wrong bag so someone got a free soup, bed they didn't ring and tell them, i would have.

We had a vid from Oz the other day, it was his daughter showing him how to do itsy bitsy spider and he kept getting told off for doing it wrong, so funny, they watch the spiders at the nursary place, they learn such a lot as they have lots of staff and its like a school really, very good.

She should be working Tuesday but shes taking her mother to hospital for something, she is as fit as a butchers dog and lives on her own so all she does is get the doctors and nurses running around after her, she has nothing whatsoever wrong with her, in fact they tell her her health is similar to a person of 50.

Pity the show was on a different date, didn't anyone check the tickets, but that was nice, a delivery from daughter.

Been watching the F1, a strange race for sure.

stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you slept well, cool here at 5c with light cloud and light wind.

Took round the neighbours christmas cards, had 3 soft boiled eggs for brekkie, for tea had what i was going to have last night, a brisket beef stew with added mash and gravy, tasty.

Just had 2 chesses from the advent pack, double glocester and red leicester, nice.

Been trying to waterproof the nails on the summerhouse roof with a Bitumin spray, the felt seems to be letting water pass, the felt has probably shrunk from the nails, it seems aa stupid idea to me to fix felt with nails on the roof.

Started to unwrap the steel mesh roll, scary, had to put hooks onto the roll to let me rmove all the wire fixings what was keeping it rolled up, it was like a tightly wound spring trying to get loose, i had the roll on a work table outside, in the end the roll was unscrewing itself, even as it was on the table it was trying to roll, i couldnt let go to pick something up so i let go and moved out of the way, it rolled onto the floor then i stood it up, i left it where it was.

Son No. #5 had 3 blood plasma injections in his knee today, has the same in 2 & 4 weeks, he said it was horrendous.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Cold and wet here today . I didn’t sleep too badly , but can’t say I’ve been very energetic today I just cleaned the kitchen and did a load of washing ....apart from that I’ve spent the rest of the day between napping and trying to sort out some more Xmas presents.   I had a couple of lamb chops for lunch and now I’m lounging on the sofa . I hope your day has been more productive than mine.

Mollie , yes , I saw that Wales was tightening restrictions again .....but at least they’ve started vaccinations  today .....I think I will be in group 4 , so probably not until the new year . What group will you be in ? I saw JJ interviewed on Strictly Take Two last night ....he looked really upset about it It will no doubt be Jaimie this week .....so final will be HRvy , Bill , Ranvir and bliddy Maisie Hicky , your video from Oz sounds delightful How is your wife feeling now ? Do you know which tier you will be in for the vaccinations? Your poor son .....those injections sound awful ...but I guess if they help ......

Well,  it’s Great British Menu and Masterchef for me tonight ....both have threads. Have a good evening , whatever you are up to . Stay safe , the end is finally in sight

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, you have done quite a lot considering you say you dont do much, don't blame you lounging on the sofa. 🛋

Weather wet here so stayed in, 8c with heavy rain at times and a fresh breeze.

Stayed in, had sausage on toast ðŸĨŠ for brekkie, for tea made a chicken and sweetcorn soup then had 2 duck legs. ðŸĶ†

They have started Covid testing here on the Wirral, walk in places, one is only 2 miles away, not sure about the vaccinations, I seem to be in tier 2.

Mrs H seems ok, she took her mother for some test at the hospital today, things seem normal.

The injections on my lads knee might be his last hope, more in 2 weeks, he can bend it ok but can't put his weight on it.

Enjoy your tv, stay safe and sleep tight. 🛏

Hicky

Baz

glad you slept ok. You should not worry about those days you are not being very productive. Retired grandmas are entitled to slow down now and again you know.

Yes can't see restrictions ending here in Wales for awhile, the hospitals are struggling.

Don't know what group I would be in, but it will be fairly low down, but not to worry as it looks like restrictions have to stay for awhile anyway and the Oxford one might be ready by the time it is our turn, so it should get going quicker then.  I heard they can only inject 400,000 for some time with this one, as that is all they have for awhile. (the 800k they have equates to only 400k people).  But at least we do have light at the end of a long tunnel.

So annoying that JJ got the chop, he did seem a real nice guy. I agree with who you think will be in the final, although I too wish we could see off Maisie this week.

Enjoy your cooking shows and forums.  I watched the London Palladium. As expected Sheriden Smith was great.

Hicky

Aaaww your grandaughter certainly knows how to sort daddy out. It is great it is so easy to get videos from your family.

Sorry to hear your son is having such horrible problems with his knee. It has been going on for so long now, he must be really fed up with it. Let's hope these injections cure his problem.

Its incredible how healthy your MIL still is at such a grand age. Wonder what her secret is ?Is it a glass of sherry each night?

I too have been busy sorting Christmas cards out, and have taken neighbours cards now. I also sent son to post aunts pressies.

Glad to see you are enjoying your cheese calendar. Daughter bought me a Hotel Chocloate one, its delicous.

Hope you sorted the leak on the summerhouse nails. Sounds like you need to be very carefull with that mesh.

Not a bad day here today weather wise. Been sorting the gifts for family and finishing my gifts to go in the post as we haven't been able to visit family this year.Got all my cards posted too. Son coming in useful sending him to and fro to the post. He leaves the parcels in a locker at the local garage, and it is a lot cheaper than them collecting it.

Took doggie a walk, did a few washloads. Had cheese and onion quiche and veg for tea. Anti backed the shopping. They must have lost a bag as I had a lot missing. They refunded me. Luckily I have another delivery Thursday. My food delivery is always huge!

We enjoyed the Drive In, but here's the things that went wrong

1) We originally went a day early!  And yes Hicky, no one else checked the ticket originally, it was only a print out off an email, and I just got the date wrong. Never mind better to be a day early, than a day late.

2) when we arrived, they scanned the ticked and said I had cancelled. (which I hadn't), so we were worried they wouldn't let us in!

3) the windscreen kept steaming up, so it was very blurred. MrM had to keep trying to wipe it down.

4) MrM opened the window, then we were freezing. So he had to put the engine on.

But it was an experience, and at least we went out.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Not sure how MIL is so fit and well, she's had a good life, she never worked as far as i know, her hubby wouldn't let her, he was very controlling, they had 3 girls and 3 boys and am pretty sure they did all the work, if they went to a party etc he wouldn't even let her dance with a feller, not even me, i think she's as puzzled as we are how she keeps so well.

I think i need to get the summerhouse roof recovered etc as some of the roof panels seem wet and its that rubbish fibre bourd, not even wood or blockboard, real rubbish.

Oh dear this drive in show sure had its problems, if the windscreen steams up, beacause you have all the windows shut, don't wipe with a cloth or anything, normally that makes a mess, you should just put the engine on and turn the air onto windscreen.

At least you got out and saw the show in the end.

And you got out with doggie for a walk, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slept ok, a bit better weather here today at 8c with light cloud and a moderate breeze.

Had cheese and tom on toast for brekkie and i sliced up some satsumas or similar with some ice cream at 2pm, for tea defrosted a portion of Donner met and had it with a hot chili curry sauce and rice.

Just had a Franzipan mince pie.

Did some work in the garden, cut the 2 end pieces of the wire netting from the roll, wow, needed the Gilbow tin snips because the wire is 1.2mm and takes some cutting.

Did another 2 tubs of shredding paper, still loads to do, must be half way through now.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I had a disturbed night ....not so much lack of sleep, as bad dreams . I’ve no idea what they were , but I woke up feeling very depressed and  distressed and it’s not really lifted all day. I have tried to keep busy though ....so I’ve done a load of washing , hoovered , cleaned the kitchen , emptied bins , and had a bit of a clear out in the kitchen cupboards and the magazine rack . ...so not a totally wasted day . I had a pork chop for lunch , and now that’s me done for the day I hope you are all having a better day than me .

Mollie , oh dear , your drive in sounds like a real experience. Definitely one for the memory box I’m enjoying both Masterchef and GBM ....and at least it saves having to trawl through the listings for something to watch. Yes , I think there will be at least one more vaccine approved soon , fingers crossed Hicky , I really hope the injections help your sons knee ...if they don’t , will he need another op ? He really has my sympathy . We have a hospital about a 15 minute walk away , so I’m hoping that maybe they will do the vaccinations there, as it’s nearer than my doctors surgery .....I guess we will have to wait and see .

Well, if I can rake up the energy I’m going to write out the last few Xmas cards this afternoon , so that ,if a new book of stamps comes with my shopping delivery tomorrow, I can take them to my neighbour to post for me as the nearest post box is still to far away for my ankle . I hope you both have a good evening , and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Oh dear those dreams are so annoying, they really disrupt the sleep, you sure have been busy again, the pork chop sounds nice, do you have apple sauce with it?

It was 8c today with heavy cloud and a moderate breeze.

Had 3 sausages and a tin of tomatoes with a round of toast.

Had home cooked ham 🍖 and chips and eggs ðŸĨšðŸĨš with beans for tea ☕ , nice.

Managed to shred more paper, a person on another site says they get rid of the paper by soaking it in water then screwing it up, might try that.

I've got the F1 🏎 for the weekend so pleased about that, its from Abu Dhabi, last of the short season.

Not sure what the options are for my lads knee, if this doesn't work he is stuck, he probably wont know for a while, he has injections in 2 weeks and 4 weeks first, he is obviously very concerned, he is exercising it in the gym as instructed as that lubricaters it.

My shopping arrived this morning via Mrs H who went out at 7.15 to get it, i have enough food now to last me months.

I don't think we have room for more food, the garage freezer is now full after my delivery of duck breasts, legs, a lamb leg, a pork joint, i mustnt buy more food, just use what i have.

Yes, you take care of your ankle, now isn't the time to require help.

Take care, stay safe and sleep well.

Baz

Aaaww sorry you had a bad night with bad dreams. Hope you sleep better tonight and so have a better day tomorrow.

Hope you got the incentive to finish your Christmas cards, so your neighbour can drop them in the post for you.

I keep thinking I have finished, then remember some I forgot or I get one from someone I had forgot , so need to sort one to send to them.

As Hicky says, you must take care with that ankle as you don't want to set off any problems with it now.

Hicky

your poor MIL being controlled like that. But at least she is healthy enough to enjoy her old age.

You are right ......a cloth on a misted windscreen makes an even bigger mess than before you used the cloth!

What is a franzipan mince pie? Did you enjoy it?

Gosh you certainly have got a lot of shredding to work your way through.

I tend to soak letters in paper now as I go along. This does seem to easily get rid of your details.

Hope the gym and injections help your son, such a worry for him.

Glad you are well stocked up food wise, we are too. I got an asda delivery today and daughter got some nice looking party food from Iceland.

Bit dull and greay today, but we managed a dog walk between the showers. Did some washing. Antibacked the asda delivery. Son made mac cheese for tea, very nice too.

Wrapped some more Christmas parcels for relatives we can't visit this year. The drop off at the nearest garage locker seems to be working well and is cheap.

Schools are closing earlier this term in Wales because covid cases are so bad now, and they are trying to limit the spread over Christmas when all these families get together.

Couldn't find much to watch on tv tonight.

Goodnight both. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

A Frangipane mince pie is a mince pie with a Almond cake top, something like that, boxes of 4 very nice, i only have 1 a day mind.

I'll try that soaking of the paper, might be a lot quicker than what i'm doing.

Yes, i've no room for more food anywhere, hope she stops buying but i can't see it.

Glad you got out with the doggie btween showers, it was just cold and cloudy here.

Ooh Mac n Cheese haven't had that for a while, could make that easy enough.

The cards etc have arrived in Oz so happy about that.

Yes Covid severe in Wales, not what you want before Christmas, hope the children finishing early helps.

I've been strugling to watch new programs on TV so been watching recordings.

Stay safe and sleep well.

PS, edited Franzipan to Frangipane, my bad.

Good Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok last night, 9c today, sun and cloud with a gentle breeze.

Had Frosties for brekkie, midday had satsumer type stuff and a hard baby pear, its been in the fridge for weeks, fine.

For tea made a spicy mushroom stirfry, wow, that was good, with some mince, Haggis, Jalopeno chilies, chilli powder, a been stock cube, soy, and a few other goodies.

Started screwing paper up and putting in big plastic builders 40L buckets then soaking and leaving outside, also put a load of shredded paper into big buckets and soaking, just to cut down the bulk as i don't have room for all the loose stuff.

Watched the F1 practice 1 & 2 from Abu Dhabi, interesting, Lewis is back again.

Still playing online chess with my lad almost every night, great fun, he is winning more than me though, but i am learning more from watching the pros play and they give up their secrets, very handy.

Just watching Yucon Men on 038 DMAX.

Enjoy your evening, stay safe and sleep well.

hope you slept better last night. Gogglebox tonight....hooray.

Hicky

your mince pies sound posh, and difficult to spell too.

I am as fussy as MrsH, so don't like mince pies nor Christmas cake, nor choc cake nor marzipan. But do like a bit of fruit crumble or a bit of choccy.

That's good your Oz cards arrived ok. You said etc. so did you send pressies, if so what? I am sure they will be thrilled whatever you sent for them. I posted a few Christmas cards to Oz.

Its amazing how some fruits keep ages in the fridge.

Did you find the water method easier than the shred method?

That's good you are still enjoying playing chess and getting hints off the experts too. Your son will find it difficult to beat you soon.

Wales covid case figures are awful again today, and hospitals have lots of people suffering from it. I dread to think what it is going to be like after Christmas when all these families can meet up in each others houses. Pubs can't serve alcholol at all and they are closing Winter Wonderland in the city. The schools have also closed a week early and they are learning online. My friend's daughter is relieved she doesn't have to attend school now, as she had been put into isolation twice since September, which is disruptive and stressful for a teenager. I heard Wales has had a huge increase in home education as parents withdraw their kids from school in their droves now. Rained heavily all morning but dried up this afternoon, just in time to take doggie a walk.

Son posted another card for me (some one I had forgotten again).

And I wrapped some pressies to post to my aunts.

Did some washing.

Son made pizza and chips for tea, I love it with mayo too.

Tv time now.

I have a few of these Lindt choccy caramel balls for tv time...yum, yum...

Lindt Gourmet Truffles Assorted Chocolates - 7.3oz : Target

Evening Mollie.

Could never understand how so many people have so many dislikes in food, don't think i've ever found anything i didn't like as i used to go on the assumption that if they sold it someone must like it or they could sell it so i ate it.

Not sure what was sent to Oz, she is always sending parcels of clothes etc for the child-ren, but of course they don't last long with them growing so quick.

Mrs H has bought some fridge storage plastic containers, they are fantastic, they are in 3 widths and on 1 shelf i can fit a of each width, i also have containers in the freezer in the kitchen, i pull out a storage unit and look what it holds, a lot easier than rooting through a shelf when it all falls out, i'll take a picture for you.

I won the game the other day and i was playing black pieces, playing white last night/tonight, not sure who will win at the mo.

Yes, a worrying time in Wales at the Mo, heard a speech this morning saying what was going on.

Going to have one of my mini pork pies for supper, just had a cheese sample.

Never really had mayo with chips, when i was working in Belguim or Germany i asked for salt and vinegar on my chips in the chip shop and she didn't know what i was talking about, on the counter was 10 flavours of mayo, in one place i asked for vinegar, the owner went out and came back with a bottle of hot pepper sauce, they didn't even have salt.

Walking through Germany at night is quite scary, every house has its wooden external blackout blinds down in every room, they are raised and lowered from inside the house but the blinds are outside, the window is in the middle of the wall, unlike here where the window is on the outer edge of the hole in the bricks so the rain etc doent go on the glass, they are roller blinds, steel i think.

I like the Lindt choccy stuff, yummy.

Enjoy your tv, stay safe and sleep tight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Mixed weather today , but not very cold . I’ve spent the day writing up the rest of my Xmas cards ....and delivering the local ones ....luckily no one was in so I was able to just put them through the doors Apart from that done some washing ,  I’ve sorted another three presents , and one of the parcels I’ve been waiting for was finally delivered ....and looking at the tracking the other one is finally on its way ! I hope everyone else is having a good Saturday

Mollie , did you enjoy Gogglebox ? The brother and sister had me in stitches I saw the COVID stats for Wales .....and sadly , I think it can only get worse after Xmas Are you looking forward to Strictly semi final ? You know where we will be , if you feel like joining us Hicky , glad your Oz Christmas cards arrived ok Glad you managed to win one game of chess with your son Hope the next lot of injections give your son some sort of release from the pain of his leg

Well, it’s Strictly for me , then Historic Towns (which is Edinburgh tonight ) , so that’s my viewing sorted Have a good evening , whatever you’re watching , and please stay safe .

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

so much work writing Christmas cards, at least you could deliver some, you've had a busy day really.

It was forecast to be a wet miserable day here but the sun came out very early and stayed out all day so very pleased.

9c sunny with a moderate breeze.

Spent some time screwing up paper to put in water, just got so much, also putting the shredded paper in water as well to make it less bulky.

Had salt fish bacon and fried eggs for nrekkie and midday had satsuma pieces and ice cream, for tea put a Puka pie in the oven and made some gravy, had some pickled onions to go with it.

My Lad in Oz says he is hoping to retire Christmas 2021, wow, and his Mrs.

Enjoy Strictly, stay safe and sleep well.

Glad to hear you are having an ok day today and managed to deliver your cards. Is your ankle ok after dong the deliveries? Hope so. Good job the parcels have turned up or are on their way. I read yesterday that Royal Mail is so bogged down, they are losing stuff or very late. I posted a small parcel last Monday to Glasgow and she still hasn't had it. I have started using the Hermes drop off at the local garage now, but luckily I can use son to walk to the garage and put it in the locker for collecction. It is cheaper and qucker than Royal Mail this year. They also can collect from your home. All done and paid for online.

Yes I love the brother and sister on Gogglebox and the way they play tricks on each other.

The covid cases in Wales are the worst in the UK now. I just can't believe how they have shot up again since lockdown. The Christmas arrangements are just going to add fuel to the fire. Yet the crowds still flocked into Cardiff to do their Christmas shopping today. Anything I can't get online, I am not bothering with!

I am looking forward to Strictly, hope Bill stays.

Hicky

that's nice MrsH enjoys sending clothes to the littlies in Oz, I bet they love getting them. As you say, at that age, they get through loads of them.

Those fridge storage things sound good. we do need something like that, with the amount of food my family need.

at you trying to get vinegar in Belgium/Germany. Yes they all have mayo in their chips over there. I bought a new sauce/may for my chips , it is lovely.

I think I know the sort of blinds you mean that they have in Germany. Wonder why they are so popular over there?

We got some sun here too today, which was very welcome.

That will be nice for your son to retire with plenty of time to see his young family grow up.

Wrapped up pressies today, sent son to post them, finished cards, did washing, watched an old film whilst I wrapped "Half a Sixpence" with Tommy Steele.

Tv time now.

Have a good evening both xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The granddaughter is at the playschool during most day in the week so is in clothes and they get worn i suppose, they teach them so much, we get pictures direct by email, we just sign in to read or see pictures or videos of the children, her age has about 12 in the group, fantastic, the children love it, thats why she comes home singing all these nursery rhymes etc, and counting etc.

Oh yes, meant to take a pic of the fridge/freezer.

In Belguim they had a type of street circus that came every year, never seen anything like it, think i've told you a long time ago, the food on offer, wow, pancakes 2 ft across with whatever you want on it, the burgers, hotdogs fantastic, and the games/stalls to win something, everyone won, you never lost so noone was ever disappointed, you never walked away empty handed, anything i won i gave to the staff in the hotel bar when i got back.

The roller blinds in Germany are a leftover from the war, it could be in the building regs so it carried on, i could notice walking down a row of houses, it was like a street of houses boarded up, quite eerie when there not a light or curtains in any windows.

I was expecting rain and the sun stayed out all day, a person on another forum, one i have known many years sent a message saying she was going to the chip shop in Pargate and could she get fish and chips and drop them off at my house, i said my food was already sorted for today and thanked her, she has been to my house before i moved as i gave her a load of trees etc probably 2014 or so, but she came to see the bungalow when we moved, she lives in Liverpool.

Yes, my lad just sent us a message on whatsapp, he also said he would probably go to the Philippines for 12 months, his mrs has her family and some property there, he said he could sell a couple of properties and put the money into index funds for the dividends.

The last game of chess ended in a draw, i made a wrong move, when i checked the game with a search engine it showed from a certain move what i should have done, so i replayed the game accorningt ot eh computer brain and i would have won if i had done the right move at move 40.

Stay safe and sleep tight, i enjoyed the Strictly again.

A full English in the morning, mind you Son may want a vid call from Oz, if so it'll delay food.

Evening All.

11c today with light rain and a moderate breeze.

Pretty miserable day but it started with a vid call from Oz so that brightened the day.

Had a full English to finish off the morning, later had the rest of my loaf with kerrygold and crab meat, need to make a loaf tomorrow, going to have a Hotdog soon as well, have got some of that Mexicana hot chili cheese, will put a layer on the Hotdog.

Watched the F1, a good race for the last one of the short season, next year starts in March.

Have got another World Darts Championship series starting Tuesday night Live, but on 427 the darts is on all day, not live though.

Enjoy you tv tonight, if you can find some, stay safe and sleep well.

a video call is such a nice way to start your Sunday. I bet they have so much to tell you with 2 very young kiddies. Sounds like she is coming on so well at playschool too.

We too had our usual Sunday cooked brekkie. Very nice.

That will be nice for your family to go for a year to Philippines, a great experience for the kiddies too.

You certainly did enjoy the street circus in Belgium then.

We usually visit Winter wonderland in Cardiff, so pretty, fairground, ice rink and contininetal food. But it has only been open a short time, in a much smaller form and because covid has got so bad, they closed it down completely this year.

Raining most of the day, so MrM just took dog a quick walk between showers tonight.

Tv time for me now.

Have a good evening both xxxx

Evening Mollie.

Yes, granddaughter wants daddy all the time now baby has arrived, natural, so good to see them all the time.

He is planning to retire, but hes a bit concerned what he will do with no work and so much time on his hands.

We went out in the car tonight through all the villages in a 15 mile circle looking at the fairy lights, wow, fantastic, of coursde they all seem about the same colour to me but o/h can see them.

Never did any work outside too damp and miserable, just went to the garage freezer.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hope you got my Whatsapp message about the ITV IAC show at 8pm tonight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Better day weatherwise ....sunshine and showers I slept better last night , so got my rear in gear and caught up on the jobs I didn’t do yesterday . I changed the duvet cover , washed and ironed , cleaned bathroom and fed birds . I had a nice piece of M&S steak for lunch , now I’m watching TV and trying to sort out the last of my Xmas presents . The two parcels I had been waiting for since beginning of last week , finally arrived. Hope you’re both having a good day .

Mollie , I was quite pleased with the Strictly result yesterday .....I think Jaimie deserved it for sheer persistence. I wish we had got rid of Maisie , but it was never going to happen ! At least we can all moan about it in the thread . Such a shame about your Winter wonderland Bliddy Covid Hicky, who is your favourite in Strictly ? Mine is HRvy now .How lovely to be able to drive out and see the Xmas lights. I live on a corner , with a close behind me , and another one opposite , both have some houses with outdoor lights , so pretty

Oh well , it’s a bit of a nothing night on tv , so it will be Michael Portillo and Chris Tarrant rail journeys for me.  Have a good evening whatever you are doing , and stay safe .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept better, you do so much in a day, glad your parcels arrived at last.

10c today with light rain showers and a moderate breeze.

Had dippy eggs for brekkie, earlier i had the 2 crusts off the new loaf i made, for tea i had Jalfrezi curry with donner meat and rice.

Screwed up the rest of the paper i am disposing of, it all now under water but the ink still is on the paper so i cant get rid untill i either get the ink off or disguise it with some brown dye or something, i might put some consentrated manure in the water with the paper as it could dye the paper.

I rang a roofing company up about the roof on the summerhouse, the water seems to be getting through via the nail holes through the felt which is probably losing its suppleness after the last 6 years, anyway they will come and look at it for me, i can get a rubber sheet which can cover the whole roof for ÂĢ150, i can get an adhesive as well, i'll see what they say when they come on Friday.

I'm at the eye clinic at the hospital Thursday as well, no idea what will happen there, don't think my bad eye has improved any.

My fave in strictly is Maisie, she is by far the best dancer, just a pity she hasn't got the amount of fans needed as the show is fan based and with i assume mainly females voting they will vote to keep the fellers in obviously, they always do in all reality shows.

I was impressed with the christmas lights on the tree lined shopping roads in Hoylake, every tree was covered in lights, the whole trunk and branches, on the high street the light banners crossing the road was unbelievable, the shops had contributed and tons of ice crystals denoting people who had died, it really was magical.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

that's good you slept better, and got your jobs done , plus your parcels finally arrived.

My friend got her parcel took, took 6 days to arrive 2nd class, but at least she got it and well before Christmas.

Yes I agree, I would have preferred Maisie to go over the woman who did go, but at least Jamie got to stay. (even though I am not that keen on him). Yes it is funny in the thread when we can have a good moan. Just wait until next Saturday, I can just imagine.

Hicky

thanks for the whatsap message, it gave me chance to record it.

I am sure as your son can afford to retire, with a young family, he will find plenty to keep him occupied.

That's good you made it out to see all the pretty lights. Pity the colour blind thing is restrictive for you though. Did you know they do glasses now to help remedy this? I was thinking of getting my lads a pair of these to try.

https://best10reviews.co.uk/re...color-blind-glasses/

https://enchroma.co.uk/collect...colour-blind-glasses

But they the problem being, they are expensive if they don't suit them. Have you heard of anyone who has tried them?

Hope you manage to sort out the summerhouse roof ok,, especially as it is just the start of winter.

Good luck at the hospital, at least they are still seeing you regular. Some hospitals here are so full of covid that they are only open for essential stuff.

Not too bad today weather wise. Had a nice walk with the dog down the local lane, they keep horses down there,....some lovely cart horses, they are huge and very friendly.

Did my online shopping ready for it to be delivered tomorrow by Morrisons, did some washing and had cheese onion flat, boilet little potatoes and sprouts for tea. I love those little sprouts, got some frozen ones from Morrisons.

At night I rest my tired feet on a cushion full of foam, and the little dog loves to sit on them too. Her fave positon is plonking herself on top of my feet though, so she squirms each night until she can settle on my feet. Eventually I have to move them though as the ciruclation goes weird in them with a dog sleeping on them for too long.

Not much to watch on tv tonight.

Will check my recordings.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

I'll look into those glasses, but i wear glasses anyway, can't wear 2 pair at the same time, never heard of anyone using them.

I go to the eue section of the hospital and it doesn't deal with any other type od ailments, just eyes.

On a cooking show they had a feller talking about sprouts, he said you should fry them or roast them, probably with butter and pepper etc.

I don't blame you putting your feet up but dogs always like to get comfy and they know if they sleep on your legs you cant disappear without them knowing, very clever.

Have a good evening stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Get my Covid-19 vaccination Saturday then 3 weeks later at a hospital some miles away but have been to many times as outpatient.

10c today sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, didn't do much outside, put more shredded paper into water, still more to do.

Had a bacon and black oud on toasted sandwich for brekkie, got a Plaice out of the freezer for tea and had it with some French Fries.

Got darts tonight and the rest of the week so chuffed about that.

My Lad that has been studying and got the 1st class honours award for his Degree he has now passed more interviews etc and has many letters after his name, they are now: BEng(Hons) IEng MCIBSE MIET

He is over the moon after all his hard work over the years, what a result, and he gets an official Stamp and IEng is protected by Royal Charter.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Gosh I never  thought of that about my dog lying on my feet, of course!....., she knows if I sneak off when she is sleeping on my feet.   And she doesn't like to be left alone. As you say, its very clever.

I usually just boil my sprouts, didn't realise they were cooked any other way. I might give one of those methods a go.

you can use those colour blind glasses with prescription ones, I think they clip over them. One of my lads has decided to give a pair a go , so I said we'd buy him some for Christmas.

Did they write to you about the vaccination? Good job you have been to that hospital before. Will MrsH be able to drive you there?

That's handy you have darts to watch because there is not much on tv lately.

Your lad has done really well, no wonder you are proud of him. It must have taken a lot of work to get that far. My son is working to get a mere BSc(Hons) and it has taken a lot of hard work to get even that far! He finished his firs term of his last year last week and is nervously waiting now to see what grades he gets for his projects.

A lovely day here today, and after not seeing her for months, my friend came over. Don't think we are allowed anyone at all in our houses, (even though we could meet in the pub), so MrM opened the garage doors, and she sat just inside and I sat 2 metres away in the entrance.   I had 4 layers and a big scarf and gloves on and she nicked the dog's blanket, as it was freezing just sitting there, but we did chat for a couple of hours.

After, we took the dog a walk down the lane, and MrM fed the cart horses some fresh grass from our side of the fence.

Did the usual couple of washloads. Had some sweet potato chips with veg and flan for tea and some of my fruit crumble with thick cream. Yum.

Hope Baz is ok.

Evening Mollie.

I tried the colourblind test, not very successful, think i am too bad for the test, it couldn't determine what catergory i was in as i couldn't read many of the screen tests at all.

Yes, i have darts day and night till the 23rd then a 3 day break and they restart on the 27th till Jan 3rd.

Yes, such a lot of work to get those letters after his name, he needed them all for his Job.

Hope your lad gets the grades he needs, so much work involved.

Yes, its awful when you have to resort to the garage to meet but what else can you do.

I'll be happy to get my Vaccination on Saturday, pity i need another one in 3 weeks though, but better than nothing.

Glad you managed a little walk with the dog, nice to be able to feed the cart horses.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

PS. another forum member mentioned watching a program making Mac n Cheese and put 100g of crab meat in it, 50/50 brown/white result very tasty.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   How are we all  today ? It’s cold , wet and dark here ....I had to put the light on to do the ironing ....and that was at 11 o’clock this morning. Apart from that I didn’t sleep too badly , so I’ve changed the sheet and pillowcases , washed, Ironed and ordered the rest of the xmas presents I have just got to wrap a couple of gifts for local friends and my neighbour . ....then that’s my Christmas sorted . I had some yummy lamb chops for lunch and now I’m slobbing out watching tv and reading

Mollie , yes , the thread will be blue if Maisie wins on Saturday Lol at your doggie sleeping on your feet.   Have you managed to get an xmas delivery slot ? I’ve managed to get one for my main shopping delivery , but no luck so far with my M& S one ....but I’m still trying ....and I live in hope Hicky , wow , glad you’ve had your Covid jab appointment ....but a bummer that you have to go to hospital for your eye appointment  on your birthday. I don’t think Maisie is the best dancer .....in some dances she simply seems to clump around the floor .....but each to there own .

Oh well it’s Great British Menu, Masterchef , and a programme about Highclere for me tonight Have a good evening both , and as always , stay safe

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept ok, make a difference really on the days ahead.

Weather similar here, wet and miserable, i stayed in apart from donning my wet weather clothes to put the wheelie bin out.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie, later finished the stasuma type mini orange things off, i slice in half, then slice twice more each half so i get 8 pieces from each, then peel back a little from one end and put the flesh in mouth and pull from the peel, a very enjoyable methed to be honest.

For tea i put one of the Fray Bentos steak & kidney pies in the oven, the best 25 minute meal you can buy.

Done my shopping list, have got the eye clinic in the morning after Mrs H brings the shopping in, friday i have the shed roof people, saturday i have the covid jab, its all go.

Got my darts anyway, afternoon and night, heaven.

Yes hospital not the best place to have a Birthday, and to make it worse the eye drops so they can take pictures make me almost blind for 6 hours.

Just got a big box of Thorntons Classic from SIL as Mrs H went to see her today swap chrissy pressies.

Have a good evening viewing, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky
