Good Evening All.

Hope you slep ok last night.

12c today, sun and cloud all day but only a gentle breeze.

My Sainsburys order came, put that away, got more Basmati rice, Mrs H got me a 4kg bag.

My fish order arrived, wow, so pleased, have had to freeze a lot of course, and have kep a load of the flat fish portion in the fridge as i didn't want to put it all in the freezer in one go, this is what came, all in portions except the sdalt fish which was 2 great big sides of cod fillet.

wow, 6 portions of salt cod, 2 big dressed crabs, smoked salmon trimmings, 8 large plaice fillets, 3 pair manx kipper fillets, 2 each of Haddock, cod, hake and halibut fillets, a pack of fresh brown crabmeat and a pack of fresh white crab meat, a tub of Anchovies Provencale and a tub of hand dived king scallops.

Had eggs on toast for brekki and 2 Duck Legs for tea, had to make my own Orange sauce.

Didn't do anything outside as in the morning i was waiting for the fishmongers to ring with the bill, when they hadn't rang by 11.30 i rang them and paid, half an hour later the fish arrived, they did say the fish might arrive before you pay for it.

I will need to do a bit of meal planning now, did i tell you i had ordered a 1kg of Tempura batter mix, can't wait as i want to make some battered fish.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Aaaww sorry you had such a bad night with unpleasant dreams.   That must of wiped you out the next day.

Yes best not to do too much after a bad night like that. do you mean you are thinking of getting a new iphone 12, or do you already have one? Like HIcky I have never had an iphone, but my son sourced a cheap Tesco phone for me.

I agree Lottie should of gone on Bake Off as she was poor at all of the challenges this week. But as we guessed, it was unlikely the judges would vote her off!

The arthritis in my knees/feet has improved a lot since I have been going on the rower but the top of my back seems worse, usually starting the end of the day. Will have to try and find some exercise to improve that problem now. How is your ankle now? Does it still ache when you overuse it?

That's interesting your dad was a Japanese POW , my grandad was too. My mum said when he got back home, he passed out as he was so unwell and he was extremeley thin. What a terrible time they must of gone through.

Hicky

that's good MrsH also participated in a muffin omlet thing, as I know you say she is quite fussy what she eats. (I am too).

We too always find trouble fitting stuff in our freezers.

You certainly had a tall order of fish arrive then. Hope it is all good quality when you eat it.

I was going to ask you about the batter mix. Now I see you have ordered one. Let me know what you think of it when you use it.

A lovely sunny day today, so spent ages sitting in the sun reading, and the dog got 2 walks and my drying all dried.

Son made a roast chicken dinner, with Yorkshires, which I always enjoy.

I made another fruit crumble. Turns out the frozen cherries and frozen blueberries I bought come out excellent in a fruit crumble, with some ice cream added.

As I have mentioned before most of Wales haven't been able to go outside their own council boundary for some time now. Roadblocks and checks have been made.  I am hoping things aren't tightened even more and so stops us going down the coast with the dog. (it is just further than 5 miles and during full lockdown they made it that we couldn't go more than 5 miles from home). But they might just leave it that you only have to stay in our own council boundary. Of course I wont' complain, as what needs to be done, needs to, if we are to control this awful disease. All the hospitals round this part of South Wales have outbreaks in them.

Going to watch GP's behind closed doors tonight, then something I recorded.

Goodnight both, have a good evening.

Evening Mollie.

This is the batter mix: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yutak...gid=pla-920947178299

Should get it tomorrow, am excited to try it with a piece of cod maybe, i may have to slice/butterfly the fish as don't want it too think as i might be able to get it to cook in the batter.

For supper i had Anchovies Provençale and TTD Chorizo, so tasty.

I'm thinking of dividing my brown/white crabmeat up into usuable sizes by using the new silicone cupcake cases, i can divide it then freeze on a tray then put into a ziplock bag.

Not sure what the covid restrictions are here as i don't go out, i know Liverpool is under more conditions, an awful lot of people from the Wirral work over in Liverpool so drive over or go by train, there maybe boats as well crossing.

All you can do is stay in when possible, i am at the hospital Tuesday.

stay safe, sleep well.

Hope everyone else is having a good Friday , whatever you are doing

Evening Baz.

Glad you got some sleep last night, your dream is strange, like all dreams, its like it is telling you to stop looking for something that doesn't exist because you won't find it.

Only 11c oday here with light cloud and a light wind.

Had sausages and tinned toms for breakfast for tea decided to have the king scallops, had the 6 but at over ÂĢ2 each rather expensive, th biggest i've ever seen, will be giving them a miss next time.

Have put a portion of the salt fish in water for the morning, it is beautiful cod.

Made the crab dark/white meat into 6 portions, they should contain about 66g a portion, enough for a nice crab sandwich, put the mixture in the new silicone cases, added a parchment liner to make them easier to store when frozen, will put them into a ziplock.

Yes, it was good when your son could give you his phones when he upgraded.

I remember when i was a lot younger and one of my childhood mates got a job as a vehicle inspector, he used to have a saloon car from the company as he had to carry heavy tools, massive vehicle jacks atc in the boot. he changed the car every 3 years, it became his so he could give it away of sell it, as you can imagine there was a queue for them, they were the Ford Cortina until they stopped making the saloon, he had to buy foreign then as he couldn't buy an estate on safety reasons because of the tools he carried.

Found this about IAC.: When will I'm A Celebrity air in 2020? ITV has confirmed that I'm A Celebrity will be returning for its 20th series in November, with the famous line-up staying in a “castle” based in North Wales. Due to the coronavirus, campmates won't be flying out to Australia to where the show is usually filmed.

Strictly starts tomorrow, BBC1 at 7.50 to 9.20pm, looking forward to that.

Have a good evening, stay safe and have a good weekend.

how odd you keep getting the same dream. But hope you have a settled night again.

Was your shop from Ocado? I did have a couple from them, but then found it hard to find an available slot. Wonder if they have more available yet?

That's nice your son has got his own graphic design company. MrM did graphic design at art college years ago. But he eventually worked in IT but recentely went back to an evening class for his painting, and an online class now, as he does painting as a hobby. He is quite good, has done some portraits of frieinds and relatives from their photos we had and they all liked them. What sort of clients does your son design for?  Pity you had to source your own Apple when the grandkids got older. But it is easier to stick with the same kind of phone when you get used to it. MrM has an apple, and I find it is a lot different to mine.

Yes Wales closed its borders on Friday night, normally we would have loads of caravans and camper vans around as its half term in some places in England, but when we went to the coast yesterday, it was a lot quieter than normal. We had our usual chips on seafront and I had my fave lime stripe ice cream. I think you are probably right, Scotland will probably follow as Ireland have done the same.

Hicky

thanks for the batter link. You will have to let me know what you think comes out best in batter. I remember we used to sometimes get battered banananas and batterned pineapple.

Sounds like you are enjoying your fish. The scallops are expensive, but as long as you enjoy them as a treat now and again, that will be nice.

That's interesting about your friend and his tools and the Cortina. I remember Cortinas, my dad used to have one, they were very popular in their time.

Only a month until IAC then, thats good. I wonder what they will get them doing. Mountain climbing maybe? River rafting?

Another lovely sunny day, quite warm so I sat on swingchair and got the sheets dried on the line.

Yesterday we went a nice walk on the seafront with the dog. Another lady spoke to me as she had an old dog with a heart complain in a pram.

My arthritis in my back has been playing up at night, so had to take ibuprifen and use a hot water bottle, it has eased a bit now. Think I will need to pace myself more in the day.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Thought i had posted, forgot.

Only 12c today, light cloud and a gentle breeze.

For some reason the food tasts so much better after being cooked in batter, not sure why that is, also you need to make sure the pieces of food you use are cut into bite size pieces.

All the fish is now in freezers, it is all listed on a sheet that i print out and fill in the quantities which drop as i use the food up, the list is in servings so i know where i am.

The batter says use 1 portion of the mix to 1.5 portion of cold water, or beer etc, but i don't know how much i will need for 1 portion of fish, need to experiment, also, must find out if i can freeze the left over batter, that would be handy.

I had salt cod for brekkie, that was nice, had a Phaal curry i found in the freezer, wow, had it with prawns and home made chips.

I watched the first show of strictly tonight, it was ok, looking forward to IAC though, yes, maybe they will get them climbing.

Sorry your back is playing up, not a lot you can do except for Ibu i suppose.

Stay safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  A better day at chez Baz . I slept ok last night , despite having another *can’t find my way home * dreams....this time I was definitely trying to get to my childhood home . So I’ve been a bit more productive today ....cleaned kitchen and bathroom ....done a small load of washing ...fed birds and emptied bins . Apart from that I’ve had a pork chop for lunch and now I’m watching an old Midsomer Murder I hope you are all having a good Sunday , whatever you are doing

Mollie , my shop on Friday was my Sainsbury one ....my M&S /Ocado shop is coming Monday I love my Apple products ...I have a phone and a couple of iPads . I like them because they are basically idiot proof ....which is essential for me I hope your back is a bit better today Both my son and my daughter are very artistic , something neither of them got from me Hicky , I really enjoyed SCD last night , so nice to have a bit of fund and normality amongst all the misery of late And I am really looking forward to I’m a Celeb too They will certainly have to wear a few more clothes than normal , that’s for sure If I don’t “see” you before , I hope the hospital appointment goes well on Tuesday

Well, it’s a double dose of Michael Palin for me tonight I hope you both have a good evening, whatever you are doing .....and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slep ok last night, strange about your dream, wonder what the meaning od that is, unless its saying you want to start all over again, as from a child again.

You did a lot again, you can't beat a good pork chop.

It was 12c here with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had a full English after a vid call from Oz, for tea had a rack of Welsh lamb, so tender.

Am looking at a deep fat fryer, will post a link, a 5L container of veg oil from Sainsburys is ÂĢ5, from Amazon its ÂĢ13, maybe the extra is for delivery.

Like you, i've never been artistic, i suppose being colour blind doesn't help.

Even watching the graphs on the screen when the virus info is shown, all the info is in colour so i can't tell what is what as i can't even pick out 1 colour from the bunch, i suppose they don't care if you cant read the board.

As you say, the IAC will certainly be different clothes wise, maybe they have an indoor heated pool etc, they will need it.

And the food they earn is from the country they are in, so it could be Lamb, Lamb and Lamb, hate to think what the insects will bem rats, mice, squirrels, ants, wasps, bees.

Stay safe, sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you are both ok, Mollie & Baz, i see wales is going into lockdown, oh dear, i thinl we are here as well.

`3c today with cloud and maybe rain and a moderate breeze.

Had a couple of the bacon egg muffins for brekkie, for tea i had a portion of Laksa soup then a portion of Hallibut fillit and a few chips and made some sauce to go with it.

Not done much today, been watching chess video's from the past, some amazing games, so much to learn, in a chess game after the first 4 moves each there is a possible 288 billion moves.

Still thinking of the deep fat fryers, the oil doesn't really go off but it should be stored cool and in a dark place, can be also in fridge or freezer, on google it says Sainsburys have a 5L for ÂĢ4 but on Amazon it's about ÂĢ13.

Its getting harder to sort my meals out now with having such a vast choice.

Mrs H going to drop me off at the hospital in the morning, so kind, she's off tomorrow anyway so should be able to pick me up.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

both

Baz

Glad you slept ok , so odd you keep getting that dream.

Hope you are happily well stocked up with some nice treats now you've had your M and S delivery.

my OH and daughter are both artistic, and like you, they certainly don't get it from me! My boys, like HIcky, are red/green colour blind, so are not artistic, but like the musical and acting type of arts.

How is your ankle now? Does it still get swollen at the end of the day or had that calmed down now?

Hicky

let me know how you work out the batter mix. MrM fancies trying some with the nice Costco cod we have, and me and son fancy trying some battered halloumi.

I hope your hospital visit goes ok tomorrow. Its good MrsH is around to give you a lift.

Its nice you enjoy your chess so much, especially now its getting colder and darker.

That is surprising how much cheaper the oil is in Sainsburys than Amazon.

Yes not long till IAC now. If they are staying in that castle, there won't be any home comforts because the main part is derelect. It is also a very steep and unevern terrain, so I am guessing the celebs will need to be very physically fit to cope with that and the cold and wet there this year.

Here is where they are going to...

https://www.gwrychcastle.co.uk/

Had a bad day yesterday. The pain in my ribs/back got worse as the day went on and I couldn't get comfy. Had to take pain relief, used my TENS and hot water bottle. Even put me off my food, as I could only manage half a bread roll and hot choc that daughter made me for lunch and dinner. It eased a bit in bed, so read until 2am until I got more comfy.

Thankfully it has eased today as the day has gone on, so have eaten better. Even managed to sit outsde for awhile.

Yes Hicky Wales is entering full lockdown starting Friday. As you know we had already been in County lockdowns, but Friday starts the proper "stay Home" message so only food shops/chemists can open. I hope it does slow this awful disease down.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

To make enough batter for a fish pieces i will have to make too much of course but the left over can go in the fridge or freeze it so its not a problem, i'll probably make up 100g, the small pack i had was anything up to 150g but it made too much really.

I think i will cut the fish into bite size pieces, they would then be like the prawns i did, that was ideal.

The cost of the oil on Amazon must reflect the weight, 5L is over a gallon and if it was water it would be over 10LB and items go by weight when being delivered by vehicles.

Yes, don't really fancy being in that castle, very isolated indeed, and old and cold.

Sorry to hear your pain was troubling you, can't they do any more than a few painkillers?

Yes, saw on the news about the lockdown, so many people don't care a dam, they will never learn.

Stay safe, take some painkillers etc and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope everyone is having a good day . It was quite sunny here this morning , but it’s clouded over now . I didn’t sleep too well last night , but I’ve had quite a productive day . I cleaned kitchen and bathrooms , changed pillow cases , did a load of washing , fed birds , cleaned outside back paint work , and even cleaned outside bins I had lamb chops for lunch and now I’m slumped out in front of the tv

Mollie , I’m really sorry to hear you are suffering I hope you feel a bit better today My ankle still swells a bit ....and sometimes is a bit painful ....but the mobility and flexibility is much better now . If you’re up for it , it’s Bake Off again tonight Hicky , hope the hospital appointment went ok today I agree that some , very selfish people don’t seem to care ! And don’t get me started about the fact that some politicians, mayors etc seem more interested in point scoring than saving lives

Well it’s Bake Off for me tonight ....so have a good evening whatever you’re doing ...and as always , take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry you aren't sleeping too well, the amount of jobs/work you do in a day would put me to sleep for a week.

Lamb chops are rather nice, the rack os lamb i had Sunday for delish.

Warmer here today at 17c with cloud and sun with a moderate breeze, i was out before 9am as i had an appointment at 09:20 at the hospital, had another injection in the left eye, hope it helps a bit.

Made an omelette for brekkie, had soup for tea then a small portion of crab meat on a round of toast.

Couldn't do much as the eye drops take 6 hours to wear off so i can see ok, after the read of letters test and the pictures taken i saw the doctor, i explained about the improvement after the last injection, she agreed to another to see if further improvement is possible, she said she could see fluid.

I was trying to cut my toe nails again last night as i was going to put socks on and shoes, it could be difficult with tallons, very hard when you can't see and cant bend the legs good enough, i'm sure i nearly dislocated my hip, but managed to trim a bit, tried to smoth the edges with a file.

Been watching chess games, not got much to do.

Stay safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

both x

Baz

Gosh your productive day sounds exhausting to me!

I am the same as HIcky, and would need a good sleep if I did as much as you did in  a day!

Glad to hear your ankle is a lot better, but don't overdo things if you think it is starting to get painfull.

I enjoyed Bake Off tonight and I enjoyed yours and the others company on the forum.

Hicky

I wonder how long the batter will keep in the fridge? Mabe around 5 days, do you think?

Let's hope the injection help improve your eyesite again like they did last time. I bet that 6 hours seemed like a long time as you can't see much for all that time after the drops.

Oh dear you poor thing, it is so difficult for you having to do your own toenails now. You must take real care you don't do yourself any damage whilst doing them yourself.

Not a bad day here today, quite mild, no sun until real late, but it did mean, we did get a beautiful sunset.

Fortunately my rib/back pain eased a lot today. Only one lot of pain relief taken 1st thing.

So hopefully I will catch up with some sleep tonight.

We have some rain due tomorrow, but dry forecast Thursday, so we will try and go a walk on seafront as after Friday, it is "stay at home" time again. The infection figures have been going up a lot again here, so let's hope the lockdown attempt pulls them back down, as it is becoming a problem in the hospitals here now.

Watched Bake Off, then the drama on bbc1, that is quite good.

We had halloumi and salad wraps for tea, I put sweet/sour sauce and mayo on too.

I stewed some plums today then made a crumble to go on top. It was delicous, especially as I added some nice double cream on top.

Goodnight both xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I think the batter in the fridge will keep a few days, it might depend on what you used for the liquid, i used beer so that might cut the time down, i would think its better to freeze it, you would get 3 months or more.

Yes, strange how the eye drops only take a few minutes to work and need 6 hours to clear, it seems like an eternity of course, it will be fantastic if my eye improves, i can see my watch now with it but cant tell the time of course, i'll just have to see.

Yes, it was quite a struggle trying to do my toe nails, of course i cant get my foot where i would like it, its bad enough trying to feel where i am with the clippers, there was a bit i left on a big toe but i could close the cutters, they maybe nail clippers for the finger nails, might have to find a bigger pair.

Thats a bonus having your pain ease, yes sleep would be handy.

I like sweet n sour sauce, i used to have it a lot once with deep fried pork balls.

I'm thinking of making some pasties, and i fancy some sauce mixes, like black bean and sweet n sour etc, will have to see where they are available.

I have loads of apples in the garage, haven't taken the ones off the Bramley yet, the outside vine is loaded with white seedless grapes, Lakemont, and of course the greenhouse, oh dear, tons of massive bunches still.

Got to make another loaf soon as well, not much left, mbut keeping it in the freezer helps such a lot.

Stay safe, sleep tight,

Hicky

Evening All.

14c lightr cloud with a gentle breeze.

Had some bacon toms and egg for brekkie, for tea, well, i had thawed the home made chips out, got the wok and oil ready to go in, had thawed the place fillet ready for cooking and Mrs H asked to see the takeaway menu for local chippy, then said, do you want anything, of which i jumped to the answer, yes sure, anyway, shot into the kitchen and put all the stuff away then looked at a copy of the menu, decided on hot n sour soup, a special chow mien and a carton of hot curry sauce, only ate half the meal you get so much and never got to the soup, will have the rest tomorrow.

Have made the shopping list out, don't need much at all, and the floater has gone mfom my eye.

Not done much, a bit miserable outside, put the grey recycle wheelie bin out.

Been watching chess videos for something to do.

Hope you all slep well, stay safe.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you slept well and have had a good day today.

Hicky

you can get extra large nail clippers off amazon because I bought some for my son when he was having trouble with one of his toe nails. They might make it a bit easier for you.

How are you eyes today? Do they feel tired after the hospital visit yesterday?  Hope the injection does help things. That is good the floater has gone now though.

That was a nice surprise when MrsH fancied a take away, good job you hadn't started cooking the food you had got out to prepare, so it was easy enough for you to put back for another day. Bet you enjoyed it.

Sounds like you will be due a lot of apple pies soon with all those apples you have in the garden.  Not sure what  you can do with lots of grapes, other than grow wine though.

A dull wet day here too today. So didn't do a lot. Luckily no painkillers needed today, so am feeling a lot better than I was.

Daughter had to to go to town with MrM today and she bought us all pasties from Gregs for tea, so I made veg to go with them and then I had more of my plum crumble after. They were making pasties on Bake Off last night, so of course it gave me the urge for a pasty!

It was mum's sisters birthday today, normally we would of gone to visit her in the Midlands, but we still cant go and visit her this  year, so I sent her an NHS book off amazon, where celebs all gave a little tale of what the NHS had done for them. My aunt was pleased with it and I sent her a bunch of some bright pastel coloured flowers. Luckily they all arrived on the actual day of her birthday. My aunt sent me photos of her pressies and I was pleased with the flowers.

Not much to watch on tv tonight, but saw Corrie which I always watch.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, i will look for the toe nail clippers, good idea,

No ,y eye doesn't feel tired at all after the injection, will probably know if there is any improvement in the sight after a few days, one of the injection nurses happened to say, they are trialing a new injection that will last 3 months rather than these which last a month, i had no idea that was the case, i only had the injection when there was a bleed, maybe that was why i had to have the course of 3, so i know what she means now.

Yes, i was just going to start the cooking, i was starting early so i could cook the chips and leave them on tissue till the fish was cooked then put them back in the wok for the final couple of minutes, i'll have the plaice fillet for brekkie and the rest for tea.

Yes, no idea what to do with the grapes, haven't picked any of the green ones yet as some are not as sweet as i like, SIL said she wanted some of the green ones for her hubby.

I saw a chef making pastry for pasties on Stephs program in the day, he said always use the 3,2,1 ingredients method, flour, butter and milk or water, add a tsp salt and baking powder, very simple, might make some if it's that easy.

You lot were lucky getting paties from gregs, how nice.

Happy Birthday to your Mums sister, yes, shame you can't visit but a present and flowers is good.

Stay safe and alert.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Not a good day chez Baz .....I had a rough night , and I’m not feeling a hundred percent today , so I’ve not done much ....just changed bedding and a load of washing . The weather has been mixed ....cloudy first thing and rain at lunchtime . I hope everyone else is having a better day than me

Mollie, glad you are feeling a bit better , and that you enjoyed the Bake Off thread We will have one for I’m a Celeb too , is either of you fancy joining us Im glad you aunt had a good birthday ....and what a thoughtful gift . Let’s hope by this time next year you will be able to visit her in person Hicky , glad the hospital went ok ....and the 3 month injection sounds promising Can your wife not cut your toenails for you ? Mr B used to go to the chiropodist to have his cut , but I guess that’s out if the question these days

Anyway , looks like it’s going to be Nature viewing for me tonight ....there’s a programme about Shetland on bbc2 I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you are going to be doing .....and , as always , stay safe

Evening Baz.

Sorry you had a rough night, oh dear, hope you feel better soon, these nights are closing in, going dark so early.

It was 12c today with light cloud and a fresh breeze.

Mrs H won't go near my feet never mind cut my nails, i have been going to the Chiropodist for years but they shut down when the doctors surgery closed as the clinic was inside so i haven't been since about Jan or fen, good job they only grow at half the speed of finger nails.

I have so many recorded programs to watch, and the F1 is on from tomorrow so thats fantastic news again.

Stay safe and try to sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

Aaaww Baz , sorry to hear you are not having a good day, and had a bad nights sleep again.

The IAC thread sounds fun. Is it the same people as are on the Bake Off thread?

I thought of you this afternoon. Normally I don't watch daytime tv, but today I was tired after going a walk , so sat down and turned tv on. And there it was! Sewing Bee! I remembered then you told me an old series was being shown in the afternoons. I only caught them making the last garment, but enjoyed it, especially as it was the final.

Hope you have a better night tonight and so a better day tomorrow.

Hicky

that will be much better if this new injection only has to be every 3 months instead of monthly.

The pasty making sounds like that method could be an easy way for making our pastry. So thanks for that, let me know how you get on if you give it a go.

at MrsH not wanting to go near feet. I must admit I am not a fan of feet either. Such a shame the chiropodist closed down as that makes it so difficult for you.

Its good you have so many recorded shows to watch, especially with winter coming.

It was a lovely sunny day here today ,so off we went for a walk with the dog on the seafront. We are in lockdown from tomorrow so thought we'd go whilst we can. Had the usual chips with mayo and ketchup and a lime stripy ice cream. There were quite a lot of people walking on seafront but everyone keeps their distance, the pavement is plenty wide enough to do so.

Got 3 lots of washing nice and dry too.

Watching GP show, then part 2 of the Trump documentary on bbc2.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The 3 inject standard is for someone with the AMD that has started to bleed, they call is wet, so when the triple is out they would only need one, mind you if the bleed is still there after the 3 months then you carry on getting injections, if the bleed stops then they check you don't get an injection.

The pastry you get when you buy it is pretty small, it might do 2 pasties so making your own might be the way to go.

I can't see why anyone would have a problem with feet, they don't bother me at all, crazy.

At least you managed to get out with doggie, and chips and ice cream, very nice.

I'm recording Trump to see what he says, i like him, what a strange man.

My shopping came, wow, loads of sauces for stir fry about 10, 3 packs of stir-fry veg, loads of fruit, strawbs, kiwi, black berries, pears, easy peel.

I've found a pair of toe nail clippers, might try them.

Had the plaice fillet for brekkie and for tea had the hot and sour soupl and the rest of the special chow mien from last night, i have so much food i have to look at the dates if it isn't frozen.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening Everyone.

Hope everyone slept ok last night.

Only 12c today, sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Had sausages, hash browns and a slice of black pud for brekkie, for tea made a veg stir fry with black bean sauce, just had 2 rounds of the new loaf with best butter and shrimps, wow, super.

Gave a neighbouh a box of bunches of grapes, probably about 10, they can give some out, i can't bear tyo see them going to rot, as they will of course.

The F1 practice 1 & 2 was on today, practice 3 and the race for pole is tomorrow.

Just watching what is on tv for now, will look into the recording list later.

Stay safe and enjoy your evening and weekend.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Not a great day here at chez Baz .......the darn tumble dryer part of my washing machine  has packed up again Washing machine man can’t come until Monday afternoon , so I’m back to drying clothes in the airing cupboard and on the radiators Apart from that , I didn’t sleep too well last night , so I’ve not done much at all ....in fact I’ve  been for a Nanna nap this morning I hope you are all having a better Saturday than me

Hi Mollie , how is it going in lockdown ? How are your aches and pains today ?Glad you managed to get to see the last Sewing Bee Yes , the programme threads tend to be a core of the same people .....there is one for Strictly Come Dancing tonight , if you , or Hicky fancy joining us Hicky , I’m sorry to hear your sons still having so much trouble with his leg .....as you say , what a mess I can’t believe they couldn’t see a torn ligament when they had him in the first time ! Having said that , these things can take an awful long time to heal . When I checked on line to see about my ankle it said 6 months minimum , but it could be up to a year. It’s now been 7 months and I’m only now getting back to normal movements . Anyway , I hope they manage to sort him out soon

Well , my Saturday evening viewing is sorted for the next few weeks Hope you both have a good evening ....and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Oh dear, theres always something to put us back, no putting washing outside in this weather, and not sleeping well doesn't help, its not good drying washing on the radiators as the water will sty in the house and condense on whatever cold surface it can land on, whatever moisture gets in the house now will unlikely leave to ne summer as it can only get out when i once again evaporates.

The weather here today, 13c with light rain all day and a fresh breeze.

Have just spent 2 hours trying to get my Wifi printer to print an email, it was fine yesterday, now the email says its offline, but the printer system says its ready, after doing every test known i had to uninstall the printer from the computer then reinstall it again, that solved it.

Had kipper fillets and bacon with 2 poached eggs for brekkie then for tea had another stir-fry this one with sweet & sour sauce.

Regarding my Lads leg, he had a scan before the op but said they didn't look for a torn ligament, i said, well if it shows on the scan now then they can look back, i assume damaged ligaments would show up, but whats bothering him is the feeling something is catching when he straightens his leg.

I've got the F1 from Portugal to watcyh the weekend so i'm fine, & strictly tonight.

Stay safe, and sleep well, Have a good Sunday.

Hicky

Baz

oh no, how annoying the tumble drier has packed up again. And a shame it should happen when you have to wait all weekend to get someone out. Let's hope he can fix it to last this time.

Sorry you didn't sleep well, so it will be good for you to take a nanna nap.

Aches and pains not too bad at the moment thanks, it just seems so random when it starts, but I am trying to pace myself and sit down inbetween doing things round the house.

I am not surprised a break as good as bad as your ankle was takes so long to heal. That's why you need to rest it when it starts feeling uncomfy.

Yes nice to have some normal Saturday viewing sorted now. It helps with everything else being so out of the normal.

Luckily lockdown doesn't make too much difference to us from what it has been like so far. Son still fed up as he has not been able to work or perform at his theatre since last Feb but meets with his drama group online every couple of weeks, other son is studying Uni online, and plays online games with his mates, and daughter chats online with hers. I don't like to think what it would be like for any of us, without online though! At least we can still take doggie a walk, . The only thing is we can't is drive to take her out in the car now. The lockdown here is so strict, I am hoping it will bring rates down, but it wont' be until several weeks after, we will be able to know. Most in Wales seem to agree with it, and don't break the rules, as we know it has become serious with the infections in our hospitals. Let's hope it does help a lot.

Did you have an M and S delivery this week?

Hicky

yes I was surprised how little there was in the ready made pastry when it was delivered, so I will have to give my own a go.

How are your eyes? Do you think the latest treatment has helped at all? Or has it just stopped it getting worse?

I watched that Trump programme on bbc2, what a fascinating  programme. Gosh he lets no one walk over him,  else it is vengeance for them down the line!

You certainly sound well stocked up with the shopping now.

Oh dear, your poor lad, hope they can sort him out, sounds horrible for him. Will he have to pay extra as he is having to have extra investigations, or is it free as it is still an ongoing problem from the same op?

Good idea to give your neighbour a box on grapes in the hope she can find takers for them, so they don't get wasted.

Its lucky you got the printer to work, but a shame it took 2 hours to do so.

Plenty of rain today.

Day 1 of full lockdown here.

Made a sour dough loaf, but it wasn't cooked properly in the middle. So we just ate the outside, and I'll toast some of the rest of it. Also made a blueberry crumble, that was delicous though with some double cream.

Watched a bit of tv this afternoon, which I don't usually do. It was Gemma Collins show, I enjoyed it as she was very funny.

It was raining but the dog still wanted to go a walk, so off we went. Didn't go far though, half way round we put her in the pram.

Watched some of Little Mix, am watching bits of Strictly now inbetween interruptions.

Have a good evening both. x

M

Hi Mollie.

Didn't see your post last night.

Yes, the ready made pastry seems to be the size needed to make sausage rolls, when the pastry is cut in half lengthwise and you use a pack of sausage meat halved an rolled onto the side of each pastry strip and sealed with egg or milk, i rolled them up and cut into 2" pices, that was perfect, but for pasties i think maybe it would make 4 smaller pasties.

Making it would give you more but of course it depends on the amount of ingredients used.

Not sure about my eye, i can't see any improvement yet, i could see slightly better at teh last eye test, so my next eye test is Dec 17th so i should know before then if anything has changed.

I don't know if any further work on my lads leg will cost him, i hope not as something isn't right, will have to see.

I think my neighbour has given the grapes out as one brought me a home made apple pie, he said it was for the grapes and helping him with pruning his apple tree, that was years ago, i told him there is more grapes yet so i'll give them more, think there is still loads.

I don't understand why the printer would tell my email program that the printer was offline, its been fine for 6 year or more and when i did all the tests with the HP program it said everything was fine and it was online and ready, so as with many software problems i uninstalled the printer then reinstalled it back and it worked, i've been messing with printers since my first one in about 1982 and i've had one ever since.

Such a shame about your sourhdough loaf, checking the bread is cooked could be down to smell, i have found that when the bread or food is cooked it seems to give off a smell, no smell no cooked, on my last loaf i came into the kitchen when my timer buzzer went off, the smell, i said to myself, thats cooked and it was, also i have found when you think it's cookedgive it another 5 minutes and see if you get the smwll from the oven, with it shut.

It was 12c today, light rain and a moderate breeze.

I did a machine load of washing, didn't put it outside as couldn't trust the weather so it is in the bathroom on the drying rach which you hoist up on ropes, i leave the door almost closed and the extract fan on so it soon dry with the big radiator, and i want the steam to get sucked to outside on the roof.

Been watching F1, Lewis won again, the only driver to win 92 races ever.

Had bacon and black pud on toast for brekkie, now going to have a steak, fancy making some stuffing, will have some tomato and has browns, i fancy sizzling beef, will look into it.

Stay safe, sleep well.

Hicky

both

Baz

hope you slept ok and had a good nights sleep.

Hicky

that is good it is not long until you see them again to check your eyes. Let's hope it is good news when you go.

That's nice your neighbour bought you an apple pie to say thanks. At least you know you have someone else who will be grateful to receive some of the grapes. Did you enjoy it? And did MrsH try some of it?

It is certainly a long time that you have been having printers! Very odd how your printer played up this time.

That is interesting what you say about the bread smell only happening when its fully cooked, as this uncooked one did not smell of bread! But when MrM has made bread in the bread maker, it always smells of cooked bread when cooked. So that makes sense.

Not a clothes drying day here either. Good idea to use the extractor to help dry yours, so you don't get the damp indoors.

Hope you enjoyed your beef and stuffing. That's an idea, I will ask son to make some stuffing for a change, we bought a pack ages ago, and I have forgotten about it.

We had a cooked brekkit this morning, I do enjoy the fried bread with it.

Went to garage with MrM for a change of scenery today, he did a bit more of his scenery painting, and I read some of my magazine that ddaughter bought me last week.

Doggie enjoyed 2 little strolls, she loves going out for strolls, think it helps ease her arthritis stiffness in her legs when she has a walk.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, the apple pie was lovely, i have had a couple of slices, i cut it into 8, Mrs H had a couple of slices, will finish it tomorrow.

I gave one neighbour a load of grapes as i said, she said she would take them around, glad she did.

Been playing chess of course with my lad, i won the last 2 games, on this site we are now 6+1/2 each, we had one draw and we have won 6 each.

My watch updated last night, left it on the window ledge and the atomic signal changes it for me, it changes the time, date, day year , everything, think it gets 100 pulses, it says it is accurate to 1 second in 180 million years, it would need a good battery to last that long.

The smell test also works with meats etc, it must be that that smell is only given off at the right time.

The bathroom extractor does help the drying by moving the air through the room, but mainly i don't want the water in the bungalow as its very hard to get it back out.

I didn't make the stuffing because i changed the meal to a pepper stir fry with chopped up steak and mushrooms with a sweet chili sauce, had it on rice.

I always forget to make fried bread, i made it once then forgot.

Glad doggie had a walk, as you say it may ease her arthritis.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Such a shame about your sons theatre .....darn virus Dont forget it’s Bake Off tomorrow Hicky , I hope your son doesn’t have to pay more money out fir his leg I love the smell of baking bread I hope your eye settles down soon , but at least it’s not long before your next appointment . Did you enjoy Strictly on Saturday ? There are some quite good dancers amongst them .....I liked Caroline Quentin

Well, not much on tv tonight , so I’m guessing it will be nature programmes for me I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you’re doing . Stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry you are being troubled with the IBS but it was good that you slept ok, sleep really does recharge the batteries, it's nice to have your N&S delivery, that will cheer you up, hope the repair man comes soon.

Only 12c again with light rain showers and a fresh breeze, didn't do much, took all the apples off the Bramley tree as they seem to be falling.

Took the apple pie dish back to neighbour and took them 3 more bunches of grapes, sat in the greenhouse when the sun managed a couple of minutes eating grapes, still too many bunches to count as some still hidden.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie, and a lice of fried bread, for tea had a portion of jellied eeels and a crab, had the crab on bread and a round of toast.

Have stopped the chocolate for now to see if my Phlegm/Mucas stops, it seems to have but quite a lot of fruit and food can creat it, but not in everyone, some of the foods are banana, strawberries, pineapple, papaya, eggs & chocolate, lots of other goodies as well.

Had a delivery today, O/H had ordered 4 x 100 pair blue XL disposable gloves.

Yes, Strictly was very good, for the first showing the dancing was ist class, for me anyway.

sorry your IBS has been playing up.   Hope it settles again soon.

That's good you had a nice M and S delivery in time to enjoy M and S salmon for lunch.

Hope your washing machine guy arrived and managed to fix things for you.

How horrible for those poor students if they are not allowed home for Christmas. As you say, it will certainly be different this Christmas, but I guess the most important thing for us all is that we stay well.

Yes Caroline Quentin did very well on Strictly, the best thing about her was she was keen and enjoyed it so much.

Oh yes, Bake Off again tomorrow. Wonder what the'll make this week? I have now eaten pasties twice since they made them last week. I had a Gregs cheese and onion one (daughter had bought if from Iceland ahwile ago),

Hicky

glad you enjoyed the apple pie and it is good the neighbours will get to enjoy your grapes.

Sounds like you and your lad are good competitors for each other with the chess.

Now you mentioned it, I just noticed my fitness watch updated itself too. Handy that, as I often forget to change the hour.

We had similiar weather to you too today but did get some good sunny spells. So I sat on the swingchair briefly until it started raining agian anyway. And the dog got a couple of walks inbetween the showers. (only short ones).

The washing dried nicely on the line in the sun though.

I have heard cutting down on dairy helps with mucus, but don't think you have that much dairy do you?

Thanks for the list of IAC, some I have heard of, some I have not. I do know I am looking forward to it though, it will certainly be different in damp, cold Wales that time of year.

Going to watch the new drama on itv tonight.

Just watched Corrie as I always do.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

That was handy getting your washing out and dried, and a swing, nice.

I usually have a little bar of chocolate, multi bar size or a Whisper or 2, which may not help with Mucas so i am laying off for a while and see the difference.

I can't remember how many go in the jungle, it could be less this year, but that list is just what i know, not sure about Vernon Kay.

Have a good evening and sleep tight.

An asprin is good for more than a headache, it could saves your life if you get Covid.

Evening All.

Hope you all slept ok last night.

12c again today with light rain showers and a fresh breeze.

For brekkie just had a round of fried bread, yummy with one of my egg & bacon muffins, for tea had chicken soup with some chopped button mushrooms added and added a TSP of Indian spice powder (home made) then had a couple of smoked Mackerel fillets.

Had a couple of Kiwi fruit, have taken a little piece of saltfish out of the freezer for morning, going to make some small pasties tomorrow.

Didn't do much today, watched tv and watched chess games, got F1 again this weekend so pleased about that, and looking foreward to Strictly again, not long till IAC, not had a date yet.

Stay safe and have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Rained most of the day here , and apparently worse to come  tomorrow , but I didn’t have a bad nights sleep so I’ve been quite busy today . I’ve caught up with the washing , towels all done , changed the bed and ironed , emptied bins and fed the birds....and had lamb chops for lunch . I hope everyone else is having a good day too .

Mollie , I enjoyed Bake Off last night , but didn’t like the results ! I’m really looking forward to Celeb , and watching them suffer a bit more than normal I didn’t know that about dairy and mucus ....but know it can definitely affect your digestive system .Hicky , I loved Strictly too ....and the standard seems quite high this year . What are your predictions for the first out ? Mine is Jacqui Smith How are your eyes now ?

I will be watching Autumnwatch and Inside the Tower of London this evening ....and will probably throw in a repeat of Gogglebox on E4 Have a good evening ....and stay safe both o& you

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slept better last night, you do so much in a day, wow.

It is pretty miserable here weatherwise although we did have some sunny spells but forecast was 11c with light rain and a fresh breeze.

Had saltfish with poached eggs with fried bread for brekkie.

For tea made pasties and for pudding had sliced pears with the cored taken out and covered in double cream.

Found another strange thing with my bad eye, if i look through the window at a skip about 20ft away, with my laft eye i can't even see the skip, but if i use the binoculars i can see the skip and read what it says on the side, how on earth can that be,

I won't make a prediction for who goes on Strictly as the public vote so its down to who has the most fans and the one with the least goes, but i don't know who has fans.

My Mucus has dropped 95% since i stopped the Whisper choc bars, it means i have to find a substitution for supper, last night i had tin of red Salmon, ate it with a tea spoon, so nice.

I'm watching Strictly, it takes 2, missed the last 2 nights show because i forgot it was on.

Had to make a new foot for my mouse, it cost about ÂĢ9 for a piece of material to make the foot, the foot is oval about 3mm in the middle and 12mm long its like this () and it was self adhesive.

Will see whats on after that, it might be recordings.

stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

both

Baz

rained here today nearly all day, colder too but I see it didnt stop you being busy all day!

Yes I too really enjoyed Bake Off, but was sad to see Marc go.

I have heard that dairy does affect your digestion as well as can make mucus. I expect with you having IBS, you have had to research what food types suit you best.

Hope you enjoy your selection of tv tonight.

It's Corrie for me and then part 3 of itv's thriller.

Hicky

that's a shame you are having to miss out on your little choccie treat, but hope it helps.

Vernon Kay...wasn't he the one who made the news not long ago when he was getting and sending those naughty texts with a model whilst married? (to her on Strictly?).

I see you have had fried bread as I said, its my fave with our cooked brekkies on Sundays.

We too had a few very brief sunny spells, so we managed to get in a quick dog walk before it started pouring again. A lot colder today though. We even had hail and brief thunder and lightening. Haven't had to have the central heating on yet, but have the  fire on in the lounge to take the chill off. Its an electric one that lights up pretend coal , so looks nice and bright, but is quite expensive to run, so dont have it on all day.

Gosh that is a lot for the mucus to drop! So as you say, worth finding a sub to enjoy tha doesn't affect the mucus.

That is odd about your eye, maybe the binnoculars refocus to suit your eye?

You are clever making a foot for a mouse. I don't use a mouse so am not sure how a mouse is structured.

Sat with MrM in the garage for awhile whilst he did his painting. He is painting a seaside scene now. And I read a bit of my book.

Did some washing but have had to hang it up on the airer as it was so rainy.

Son made a roast dinner with his yummy Yorskshire puds, delcious.

That is an interesting link about aspirin, and certianly not an expensive option. I also read that Vit D works in a similiar way.

Have a good evening both

Goodnight xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Not sure about Vernon Kay, don't know about him really.

Just eating a round of fried bread for my supper, i made it using ver oil and butter, what do you use?

I've got the central heating on auto as we don't use the lounge and dining room, i stay in the office and o/h watches her tv from her bed.

Electric heating price is dreadful, how many KW is the heater set to, i think a gas boiler costs a lot less to run than an electric heater, gas is very cheap, electric is very expensive, here Gas is ÂĢ03.926p a KWH electricity is ÂĢ18.725p a KWH which is 4.75 times the cost of gas, so i would never use electric for anything i could use gas for, and if you have gas heating use it.

Example, if your electric fire was set to the highest setting and that was say 3KWH it would cost you ÂĢ0.56p an hour, if your heating by gas was using 3KWH it would cost you ÂĢ0.11.7p an hour, but with the central heating it will turn off when it gets the signal from the thermostat, the electric heater you are using will never turn off, unless it has a thermostat, i have one of those as well, we just use the lighted coals have never turned the heat on, not at that cost.

The mouse is just a Microsoft Optical mouse, it has 4 feet, one each corner, didn't know one had come off, its made to support the mouse so it can slide with little resistance, it is only 0.6mm thick and is glued in a small recess, it seems ok now, i just googled the problem and the web comes up with the answer.

I don't understand the binoculars at all, i can see perfect with them using both eyes, and when i tried my almost blind eye it could see, and to use the binoculars i have to take my glasses off.

You are lucky having the garage to sit in and for o/h to do some painting, and its handy having a son at home that can do some cooking.

Have a good evening, stay safe and dleep tight.

Hicky
