Evening Baz.

I'm out of step with the posts it seems, missed your post.

Sorry to hear you haven' slept too good, that is not good.

I just watch some reality programs and Documentaries, love watching cooking and bakinf shows but not competitions.

It was cool today 16c with heavy rain and strong winds, we went to the farm shop for some nice stuff, bacon, very think cut, it wasn't the best day to go, we usually go on a Wednesday, not sure why we went today.

My teeth are holding out, i am dreading toothache, my eyes seem to be going worse, well the left is useless anyway, the right seems to be going worse, but if i use binoculars to look at things quite a way away my right eye sees perfect, i might just need new glasses, but they have to be varifocal.

Hope you can get some better sleep this week, stay safe.

Baz

sorry you have had a couple of disturbed nights. HOpe this improves. Is it your ankle bothering you, or is it more your mind not being able to relax?

Chilly and windy here too, and the odd quick shower but not much rain.

I agree I think people are being too laid back about this terrible virus and acting as if it is gone away. The young ones especially seem to think they are immune to it, but that is not so. The problem seems to be not only the amount of deaths, but I saw on tv that they are only just starting to realise it gives many long term damage, including the young fit people. So like you, we too are being careful and not doing much other than taking doggie a local walk. No one round here goes near us when we go out walking though, everyone avoids each other by crossing over or stepping aside, so that is fine.

I too will miss having no sewing or pottery as there is not much good new tv around right now.

I too aren't keen on Love Island, I did watch it a couple of times last year, but won't bother with this Oz one now.

Hicky

gosh that is ridiculous going round on quad bikes that time of nigh, with no protectioin.

Lucky your lad has a good job so he can afford the 2 private ops he needs on his hip. Do you know what caused his hips to give up? eg was it due to sport, or just bad luck?

I bet you were glad to get out to the farm shop so you could stock up with food.

Thank goodness your teeth are holding out, Hope they behave till you can get to the dentist.

That is good news that your right eye sees perfectly with binoculars, as you say, that must mean some new glasses should settle things in your righ eye.

Very windy here today, a good 10c cooler than last week. Doggie enjoyed her walk in the cooler weather, as did we. At least it was fairly dry. Son made his delicous Yorkshire puddings for tea. He makes 24 of them at a time and they all get eaten by my family at once.

Going to watch Broadchurch now, that too is a repeat but we missed it the 1st time round, so at least we have something to watch.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Think my lad with the Hip problem just has Arthritic Hips, arthritis is such a problem, he's never used his hips for any sport, he was a chef or baker or something but was also running a factory, then became a director many years ago.

To get my next glasses i have been waiting for my eyes to settle down, pointless getting glasses while sight changing, the Varifocal ones range in price from ÂĢ60 to hundreds depending on what options you choose, a bit of a con really, last time i saw the eye consultant he said they could test my eyes at the hospital, i think that would be better than going elsewhere.

Thats good your son making 24 Yorkshires at a time, thats a lot to make, good on him.

My lad was officially told about his 1st degree so after his name he can put BEng(Hons)MCIBSE MIET he has to submit more info for November so his BEng(Hons) can change to IEng(Hons) which is incorporated(incorporated) after he does his next research paper he hopes to get the IEng then he will get a stamp so he can stamp his work which shows you know what you are talking about.

Watching the latest Ozy gold hunters, new season.

Keep safe and happy, sleep tight and have a good week.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday . I slept ok last night so I’ve been quite productive today I’ve cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms , done a load of washing , dusted , done a bit of pruning and fed the birds  It is lovely to look out the window and see some colour in the front flower beds ....and the anniversary rose in the back garden has never had so many blooms on it ...they are deep red and gorgeousThis afternoon I have been watching old episodes of Peak Practice ....so, together with having a  bath again this morning , all in all it’s not a bad day

Mollie , hope you are having a good day . I am afraid my sleep is more and age thing than anything else . I’m certainly not worrying consciously about anything. I watched some of Broadchurch first time around , but felt they dragged it out for far too long Hicky , well done to your son on his degree . I went to uni and did a BA in my early 40s , then went on and did a phd .....With the exception of my husband and kids ......it was the best 12 years of my life ...I loved it .

Anyway , Bake Off for me tonight Have a good evening both of you . Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

17c today with light cloud and a moderate breeze.

Didn't do much today, had a nice brekkie of bacon, black pud, beans, egg and big mushroom with toast.

Took the plastic cover off the raised bed which was over the hydroponic plants/tubs.

Got my money back for the blenda that kept falling to bits.

Had a letter from the company that sold me LED lamps in 2017, they said i needed proof of purchase, well, every invoice/order etc is filed so easy to dig it out, anyway, it seems that they didn't have 5 year warranty, just 2 years, anyway they are sending me replacements so all good.

For tea i had a defrosted pork pie, some sandwiches of ham and tomato with mustard and a small roll i made some time ago i found in the freezer, the shelves in the fridge and freezer have plastic containers so to look for something you take the box out and look through it.

My lad in oz wanted a vid call this morning but o/h was at work.

Glad you managed a better sleep, you do so much work, can't you spread it out for the week.

I have looked up when the F1 is on, it starts this Friday, Sat, Sun and most weekends for months so very happy as o/h has paid to watch the BT Sports channels  so i can get all the races, trials etc on channel 420, so happy with that

Yes, so happy for my lad, he's No. 5, the last but he has done well and is very clever, they all take after a cousin of mine who was a scientist but couldn't get a job because he was too clever for the wage scales that companies had in those days, we are talking about 1960's probably but he died very young, such a loss of an incredible brain.

You did well, a PHD wow, thats some achievement.

stay safe, sleep tight and keep smiling.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope Baz is OK and managing to get around ok.

Quiet on here today, 17c with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Didn't do a lot today, had brekkie, sausages on toast, for tea diced up a Ribeye steak and had a portion of my Madras with a portion of rice cake.

Wrapped up the 4x3m of heavy pvc sheet i had over the raised bed.

The COPD nurse rang from the surgery to see how i was, asked her to put the blue inhaler back on the repeat meds list as it had disappeared.

With the BT TV Sport o/h has paid for i can watch any sport, golf, cricket, darts, F1 and stuff is on every day as well, i'm on Sky Sports F1 now channel 425 on my BT box.

Stay safe, have a good day.

Hicky

both

Hicky

good idea to get your eyes tested whilst at hospital, saves you a double trip somewhere.

That is a lot of letters you son has after his name.

Its lucky you can get replacement for your LED lamps

Your freezer sounds very organised, my OH and daughter love pork pie too.

I bet you are looking forward to F1, that's nice MrsH sorted out the sports channel for you.

Baz

Glad to hear you slept well and had a productive day.

Your anniversary rose sounds gorgeous. Its so nice to have a pretty garden full of colour.

I remember a show called Peak Practice, I think it was quite some time ago,do you know how old it is?

Well done getting a phd in your 40's. What subject was it? The furthest I got was an HNC, that was in Business Studies.

My oldest has a BScHons in Computers, and middle one has a year to go to get his full BSc, but not sure if he wants to go back in September, (too much of it has to be done online this year) so he might go the next year., and go to Japan for awhile, like he was supposed to this year.

Not a bad day here today, no rain, but a bit windy. Sat short time on swingchair and doggie enjoyed her walk.

Had some more of MrM's home grown potatoes for tea, very nice with veg and cheese rissoles. Delicous. then strawberries and cream.

Not sure what to watch tonight, but will start with Corrie.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

It must be a problem with my glasses, i was told they would need changing after my cataract op, but seeing that eye doesn't work any longer, but glasses could help my right eye.

Another lamp has gone this afternoon, i noticed the hall seemed darker, the porch light is on and so should one of the 3 hall lights, the company is saying they only had a 2 year warranty.

Yes, so happy i can see the F1 practices and races, and didn't realise BT had Skye Sport channels.

Glad doggie enjoyed her walk, and you tea sounds good, those potatoes are getting used up quick, you can't beat strawberries and cream though.

Stay safe, stay smiling and have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Meanies  A better day chez Baz .....bad one yesterday .....but I slept well last night , which makes such a difference Not that I have done an awful lot....just a bit of washing and cleaning   My shopping delivery came , but there was no meat or fish  I presume they had a fridge malfunction .....they did last week .....I’ve reordered that for Sunday ...so I am praying it comes then ! .Hope you are both having a good Thursday though

Mollie , Peak Practice ran  from about 1994-2002 .....it started with Amanda Burton and Kevin Whately ....but changed doctors a couple of times  My Phd was in American History ....a darn sight easier than business studies or computer Hicky , hope you an get your glasses sorted out ....bummer about the LED lamps though !Sounds like you’ve got all the sports covered

Anyway , got to find something to watch tonight Take care both and have a good evening . Stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry to hear you had a bad day, glad you slept ok though, you really need that.

Thats not fair sending your shopping with no meat or fish, wow, i hope you get it Sunday then.

I am at the eye clinic on the 10th but doubt if i will see the specialist then, they usually do a test then take pictures to show the specialist later, i will see if my eyes are about the same, if so i will ask about the test for a prescription to get glasses, i know what i have a no good really.

Yes, very happy being able to watch all the Sky Sport programs, F1 and darts etc, great.

cold and miserable here with 17c light cloud a moderate breeze.

I had a nice brekkie, has browns, egg, bacon and tomato with a big flat mushroom and toast.

My shopping from Sainsbury's came as Mrs H goes in early Thursday to shop, i didn't need much anyway.

For tea decided on making a beef casserole as i had some spuds carrots, bell pepper and 2 big Ribeye steaks, cubed and fried to lessen the fat first, added the casserole sauce which is steak and real ale sauce, nice, had a serving will freeze the rest.

Had to order more spud peelers as must have throw the one we had out with the peeling last week.

Stay safe and alert.

Hicky

Baz

sorry you had a  bad day yesterday, but glad you had a better one today. How annoying the food delivery missed so much of your delivery. Hope its sorted for you next time.

Gosh American history, there must of been a lot of facts to study with that one. What made you interested in America? Do you have any American connections, or just fancied studying their history? I preferred to study something that involves figures, as I am not so good remembering facts, but liked figures.

Its good you did manage to find a blast from the past to enjoy watching with Peak Practice whilst the tv choice is so bad. It was horrible with no sewing bee last night.

Hicky

makes sense your eyes would change a  lot after the cateract op, so you would need new glasses. Let's hope you can sort them soon, and they help give you a big improvement. Good job you don't have too long to wait until your eye appointment.

Is it the same as Sky sports that you now get with your BT tv? MrM used to have sky sports, but we stopped the subscription when they kept putting the prices up and stopped showing a lot of the football matches he wanted to see. Its a good job you can get your sports back again, as tv is so boring with all the repeats now.

That's good your shopping is sorted out again. I had mine delivered from Morrisons. Plenty of strawberries for us, which are delicous this time of year.

It is certainly cool enough to enjoy a casserole. My son made our fave huge dish of macaroni cheese (it has to be to serve 5!).

Shame you accidenlty threw out your spud peeler. I have done that myself in the past.

Sat a short time on the swing chair but a bit too cool to stay out too long.

Doggie enjoyed her little walk.

Watched a documentary about the cruise liners tonight and the problems with covid. Amazing how they kept sailing when it was plain there was a problem, and equally amazing the people who chose to go on them knowing there was a problem. No way would I chose to go on one of those germ ridden things. (not that I could afford to anyway)..   I remember how they how often used to get novavirus problems. Must be awful to be stuck on them if you are ill.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

They said the eye that had the cataract op would change so  the glasses i was using would be no good, well the cataract didn't change anything because the eye had changed, the AMD for some reason has blocked out my central vision in that left eye so new glasses would do nothing for that eye as i can't see anything with it, but the right eye wouold be better with new glasses but i can't keep buying glasses if my eyes keep changing, thats the problem.

The Sky Sports is a channel on BT TV, they are subscription channels, hundreds of different one, the HD ones are separate, another subscription, i think o/h has just paid for 2 months for now for both of us, we have 2 BT TV boxes, 1 each.

I've been watching Fq shows and last years darts i couldn't see.

It was obvious that the cruise ships would suffer from the virus, once i knew that it could be passed around by persons with no symptoms, well, say no more, i would expect everyone to get the virus, why not, when noone knows who has it then you can't stop it.

Stay safe and stay alert, sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

No Baz, hope you are ok.

Not a good day with 19c light rain which didn't arrive so we had cloud all day witha fresh breeze.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie as i have planty.

For tea had one of the casserole portions from yeasterdays casserole, added some spice to liven it up.

Been watching Sky Sports most of the day with live F1 practices.

My new potato peelers came, the ones i ordered to replace the one i threw out with the peelings.

Have ordered a micro sd card for o/h as she needs more storage for videos etc, the system puts so many unasked for app on it's crazy, the memory is only 16gb and the apps came to 14gb, and most you cant even get rid of.

Keep safe, stay happy and keep smiling.

Hicky

both x

Baz

hope you had a good day today, and your ankle is behaving.

Hicky

that is a problem if you need to keep changing your glasses due to your eyes changing so often. Could you just get cheap ones onine? I think if you have the eye test prescription from the hospital, you can order online.

That's handy you have a BT box each at home. My OH also has his own tv upstairs. He watches football up there when he can. He occasionally pays for a weeks subscription if there is matches on he wants to see. Glad to see you have been enjoying it today.

Yes thats the trouble with this virus, as you say with no symptoms, you can't tell who has it and who hasn't, and you can't tell if it is hardly anything or if it will make you long term ill. I wish it would jut go away forever now!

Not a good day here weather wise too. Raining a lot later in the afternoon, dull and windy this morning. And a maximum of 15c! A bit different to over 33c the other week.

Take care of your new peeler now.

No doggie walk tonight as pouring with rain, played a couple of games with family to relieve the boredom though.

Not sure what to watch on tv yet tonight.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I do need new glasses but can't get them while eyes are changing, they have probably changed since my last subscription, if i try my distance new glasses on it is better than with the glasses i am wearing but i need varifocal and the last ones i got arent so i can't use them as i have towear 2 pairs, 1 on and the other hanging round my neck, i will just have to be patient.

Oh yes, loving the Sky Sport channels, pity you have to pay.

This virus is very serious, some who have survived may never fully recover, others it may take years, it is deadly, no other word for it.

Someone was supposed to come and look at whats needed for the fake grass fitting but he never came. noone ever does, so frustrating.

Ever since it turned to summer the weather has been awful, very bad news for the garden.

I was watching videos from a feller in Essex who grows grapes etc and he has a fantastic peach tree with masses of peaches, it is in a poly tunnel, he says the peach leaf curl is cause by the uk rain in winter on the tree so if it's inside he has no problem.

Just watching Salvage Hunters, might look in the Sky Sport section see what is going on.

Keep safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Another lazy day here at chez BazThe weather is still chilly and showery ....well that’s my excuse for doing naff all ....and I’m sticking to it Hope you are all having a good Saturday ...whatever you are doing

Mollie , like you I just want things to go back to normal ....but I can’t help but think they never willThe only thing that could help significantly is a vaccine ....but even then I think it will take ages before we all feel safe again . Like Hicky says , the really scary thing is that people can be carriers without any symptoms Hicky, it must be very stressful with your eyes changing so often . I think the weather is due to pick up again towards the end of the week ....so fingers crossed

Anyway , I hope you both have a good evening ....very little wortH watching on the TV Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Not nice weather here, 18c thick cloud, rain and a fresh breeze.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie, for tea finished off some casserole from last night and made a sandwich with 2 thin rounds of my bread, cut from a frozen piece of leaf with butter and shrimps on, wow, nice.

I have at last found the Jamie Oliver loaf tin i couldn't get, it has suddenly appeared back on Amazon, couldn't resist.

Didn't bother outside, took a walk around to see all was ok.

Mrs H got a new mobile as hers was playing up and battery lasting 2 hours and getting hot so she has a Galaxy A51 but setting it up and getting info from her S5 is proving to be a pain.

I don't blame you for doing naff all, why not, they are all in the street up the road playing Bingo, well, not in the street.

I think they will have a vaccine pretty quick, there is enough brains working on it.

I'm thinking of getting a 4x2m poly tunnel sometime to keep this awful weather off the plants.

Had a great day with the F1 racing on Sky.

Keep safe sleep tight and keep smiling.

Hicky

both x

Baz

probably good for you to have a lazy day , gives the ankle a chance to have a good rest.

I agree looks like a vaccine will either take ages, (as it has to be tested) or not arrive at all. I am hoping this virus will just burn its way out, although I am a bit nervous what will happen here when winter arrives, as I read indoors it spreads a lot easier than outdoors.

Hicky

glad to hear you are getting so much enjoyment from your Sports channel.

Yes unfortunately this virus is very dangerous and I heard a Professor say it is so awkward because it is so contageous and survives on surfaces for several days. Seeing all these people going out in the UK and mixing though makes you wonder how may people even realise how bad it is.

Sorry the person let you down about the fake grass. So annoying when you wait for people and they don't turn up.

Yes summer seems to of disappeared now.

Are you thinking of giving peach trees a bash? You certainly seem to do well whatever you grow.

That's lucky they have that bread tin back in stock, hope you are pleased with it when it comes.

Setting up a new phone is always fiddly. Hope you can sort it soon.

I think you would make good use of a poly tunnel.

Didn't go walk with dog as it has been raining all day.

I did get a little outing from indoors in the house by going to sit in the garage with MrM for awhile to read my book.  He has a little stool in there where he does his paintings/drawings and there is an old chair of my mums in there, so I sat on it and read my book, whilst he did his painting. Considering its age, I found it very comfy.

Not much on tv tonight so watched a recording of "Last Tango in Halifax", a recording I found from February.

Son made chicken curry for tea and I had quche and MrM's home grown potatoes. Daughter made an Eton Mess again from strawberries, fresh cream, meringue and Percy Pig sauce.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I'm changing my web sites over from Opera and Chrome to MS Edge the new version to try it.

O/H will have to get back on to the vodafone place, she couldn't get them on the phone or online, they were supposed toi give her the original phone number on the new phone, she go the pictures etc but enail etc still on old ohone.

Yes virus very worrying, we can only be careful

Peach trees take years to give fruit, i had a dwarf one and it was so small, like 2ft high but never got to eat a peach, waste of time, i will show you the peach tree the feller posted on his video blog, i am subscribed so i can find them.

At least you got to read in the garage, shocking weather since summer started.

I watched some golf, they Love Island Oz.

You live well with food anyway, i'm going to see when i should get some spuds out, witht hem all being different types they probably will be ready at different times.

That Eton Mess sounds good, wow.

Missed a vid call from Oz this morning as o/h was still at work.

Sleep tight, have a good Sunday tomorrow.

Hicky

Evening All.

No Baz, hope you ok and staying safe.

17c today with sunny intervals and gales all day.

Didn't do a lot, yesterday i said i had eggs on toast for brekkie, i didn't, i had cheese and tomato on toast.

Today i did some food in the oven, sausages and i thought 2 pieces of black pud, but when i started to eat it, it turned out 1 of the pieces of black pud was Chorizo.

Been messing around helping o/h with her phone, stuff coming into her new mobile from the old one, of course you have to download all the apps again, thats done now and the number has been changed over and even her credit from the old to new has been done.

Washed my hair ready for the hair dresser tomorrow.

Cooked a Welsh Hill mini lamb shoulder, had it for tea with some mint sauce.

Watched the F1 grand prix on tv.

Might watch recordings if nothing on the tv tonight.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Hi both x

Baz

hope you are well and having a good day.

Hicky

Let me know what you think of Edge, I have got that now, but not used it yet.

Shame about your OH's phone has meant so much messing around, but its good you have it sorted now. Did she have to go to the Vodaphone shop in the end?

Thanks for the peach link , sounds like hard work growing them though.

MrM's potatoes were all different ones too, when I came to cook them, I found some were a lot softer type and cooked really quickly compared to the other types, that were more like Jersey ones. All very nice though. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we are enjoying ours.

Hope you enjoyed your chorizon that you thought was black pudding.

We had a cooked brekkie today, so only had cheese salad rolls and daughter used the last of the cream to make Eton Mess again.

Think I will watch recordings again tonight, as don't fancy anything on tv.

Hope you are pleased with your hair do tomorrow and hope the hairdresser remembers to wear their mask.

I don't bother with hairdressers as I always just trim my own, but my hair has a natural curl so I just tame it a bit with products, and it is naturally fair, so I just spray it a bit with "Go Blonder" spray (it uses lemon juice) to bring the blond out.

Gosh so incredibly windy today, it blew the swingchair over!  At least it was dry, so we took doggie a walk. She hadn't been for 2 days due to rain, so was really keen to go. Too windy to sit out, so went on an excursion to sit in the garage again.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

On Edge i've put all my tabs from 3 windows on 2 other browsers, the memory load has gone down from 85% to 57% so the computer is running pretty cool, all videos are working on the different programs so pleased about that.

O/H phone ok now, will take a bit of getting used to as not like the S5, i have put her old one in safe mode to see if the battery problem stull exists when downloaded apps are disabled, before the battery only lasted 2 hours so to use the phone she had to keep it plugged in, she bought another battery but nothing changed.

I will wait for the potato plant to die down then feel for a potato, you can leave them in and take a potato from each plant.

Yes, i couldn't see the Chorizo was red, it looked the same colour as the black pudding.

One of my lads, No. 5 is going into hospital tomorrow for a knee operation, not a replacement a stem cell thing with the cartilage, he's the one who got the degree last week.

I'm at the eye clinic Friday for a check up.

Wow, the wind blew the swing chair over, well it has blown our new turf into a bundle but it's too havey for us to pull in this wind.

Going to make loaf tomorrow so i can have another shrimp sandwich.

Stay in and stay safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Breezy , but sunny here at the moment . I slept badly again last night ( after 3 good nights )  , but it was my own fault ! I got caught up watching something on tv and went past my normal bedtime  It’s the anniversary of my husbands death this month , so not the best of time to be laying awake ! Anyway I’ve had a bit of a lazy day ....although I have done some washing and a bit of housework I just need to put the bins out for collection tomorrow , but I’m waiting for a parcel delivery so daren’t go and do them until it arrives , cos it’s Murphy’s law that they will knock when I’m in the back garden Hope everyone else is having a more productive day than me

Mollie , glad you (And the doggie) at least managed to get out for a bit of a walk . I wish I could tame my darn hair .....I just keep chopping off any bit that stick up ....it’s a mess I normally have it cut every 6 weeks , and highlights every 2 months ....now it’s just drab and mousey ! I’d never heard of that go blonder spray , but will check it out Hicky , hope your sons operation goes well ....and that you are right about the vaccine . Lamb and mint sauce is my favourite meal Hope you get on ok at the eye check up on Friday

Not a lot on tonight ....although I’ve been enjoying a programme on Devon and Cornwall (c4) . ...but have a good evening whatever you are doing ....and , as always, stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Oh dear, lost another nights sleep, what you were watching could have played on your mind.

Also the anniversary of your hubby leaving will make it a tough month.

Just remembered my washing is still outside on the line, i went for a haircut, a No.#2 all round.

Made another loaf so i can have my shrimps, got fish and chips on the way back from getting hair done, Mrs H had hers done as well.

Got a bloke coming Wednesday to look at the fake grass and the gas engineers coming Thursday to sort the smart meter out.

My lad sent me a picture of his leg, he has cool water passing though a pack on his kneee, i sent him one of my laf and one of my haircut.

Just watching darts on the Sky channel, nothing much on.

Stay safe, sleep tight.

Hicky

Baz

sorry you had a bad night, hopefully you will remember your regular bed time, so that will help you sleep better. Not an easy time for you though as you approach the anniversary of losing your hubby.

Hope your parcel turned up ok, so you could sort those bins out. I know what you mean, every time we sit in the garden I am wondering if we are missing any parcels arrival.

What a shame you can't sort your hair out...

here is the spray I use,(its ÂĢ5 from Superdrug or amazon)

https://www.superdrug.com/Hair...Spray-100ml/p/697700

I just spray the roots now and again, sometimes when wet, sometime inbetween shampoos, but I think when I very first started using it, I sprayed all over. I don't bother with the hair drier or hot tongues they suggest and it works fine. But of course it might depend on what shade your hair is to start with.

I also use this when it is wet straight after washing it, its great for taming wild hair, really stops my hair gong frizzy... , maybe it will help yours after  you shampoo? (ÂĢ1.99). I usually get it from B and M when I used to go to the shops, but will order some more online soon.

https://www.creightons.com/en/...am-100ml/m-1497.aspx

Hicky

hope your son recovers well from his op.

Are you pleased with your new hair cut? Was it busy in there? Hope the hairdressers wore a mask. Did you wear yours?

Sounds like you are pleased with Edge. Will have to give it a go.

Hope you are pleased with your potatoes as we are with ours. Its only the real small ones that we have had to get rid of.

Fortunately most of them were really nice though. I bet you enjoyed your fish and chips.

Not a bad day weather wise here at last, so did get to sit out on the swingchair for awhile. My washing machine broke, we have had it about 20 years (its a Miele and they are excellent) but wear and tear finally got to it. I thought it was smelling of burnt rubber. Luckily we had the landlord's machine sitting in the garage so MrM and son put that in its place and the Rag and Bone man will collect the broken one.

Took doggie a walk as it was idea. dry , warm sunny, but not too hot.

watching a programme abot Find your Relatives, not much else on.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

My lad with the op is out and home, he sent me pics while in hospital.

My hair is as i normally have it for summer, a No.#2 all over, that keeps it tidy and out of the way.

Edge seems ok so far, all my stuff is working and running, and the memory usage is down 35% so computer happier.

Been watching new series of gold hunters and gold divers.

Yes, it seems a long time since we had fish and chips, then i had the shrimps on the new loaf i made, nice.

I imagine the burning rubber on your washing machine is the belt slipping, i may have perished, a simple job to get mended i imagine, just find the make and model off it and google for spares, or someone to mend it, usually fairly cheap to fix.

Youtube vids even show how to fit bels, probably more than 1 belt.

Evening All.

Cooler today at 14c with rain all day and a gentle breeze.

Didn't do a lot with the weather like this, had toast for brekkie with marmalade, for tea decided to have my bread with butter and ham/tomato/chutney/lime pickle in different combinations, had 3 thin slices of bread, my bread slicer aid has 3 thicknesses but for sandwiches i like it thin.

Had a delivery of 4 GU10 LED COB bulbs from the company i got my last 35 from and 3 have gone so happy with that, will have to buy my own if more go.

Had a hose pipe coupler delivered as need to add more hose to the hose pipe o/h uses for watering her plants, she is 7m short, i have more hose so will cut a pice off for her.

My No.#5 son is home again after his op, he didn't even stay in the night, he said it's pretty sore and has a strong brace but he has unlocked it, if he puts any weight on it the implant can be destroyed.

Might have to watch recordings again, the repeats on tv drives me mad.

Stay safe, keep smiling.

Hicky

Hi Hicky x

that's good your son is home so quickly. How does he get around without putting weight on it?

Your Edge is certainly working for your memeory usage. So it must be good.

Now your hair is all set for summer, hopefully that means the sunshine will arive.

Thank you for the link for the washing machine, I will get OH to have a look.

It was cool here today, around 16c and started to rain in the afternoon, so no doggie walk, its pouring now.

I fancy getting a bread slicer aid for OH's home made bread, did you get yours off Amazon?

Also, did you buy your lime pickle or make it yourself? I love lime things.

Repeats on tv driving me mad, especially when I don't realise at 1st that they are repeats!

Hope Baz is ok today and has had a good day.

Will watch A and E tonight, don't think that one is a repeat.

Had a cheese and onioin pie with OH's potatoes, peas and gravy for tea. Run out of strawberries so had an apple and cinnamon yogurt after.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Hope Baz is taking it easy, not a good month for her.

Not sure how son gets round, i did ask but never got an answer, i assume with crutches.

Yes, now hair short hoping for summer to arrive, all this rain will make everything grow like mad, i'm glad i got loads ofn t eh onions up and put them on the greenhouse floor, it's blue slate to dry, got a few more to get up though.

If it is the belt/belts that want replacing you would have to get the instructions for fitting, something could be undone before the belts go on then tightened.

Yes, the bread slicer aid was from Amazon, i'll post the link, it's fantastic, i never cut a slice without now.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cutti...memade/dp/B07CZ1L3RW

You will need a 12" (30cm+) knife at least, this a is a beauty, the best size really.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Color...s=kitchen&sr=1-5

I was happy with sandwiches, i eat too many good meals, only have bananas left in the fruit line, just had a tin of red salmon, so tasty, ate it with a tea spoon.

Wow, a long time since i had a cheese and onion pie, sounds delish as well.

Watching Love Island Oz now, got loads of recordings.

Sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and HickyIts a grey , and wet day here today . I slept ok on Monday night , but hardly at all last night , and I’m very tired today . So I’ve had a very lazy day today , just the normal tidy up and a load of washing . Apart from that I’ve been kid on the sofa doing naff all Hope you are all having a good day though .

Mollie , I watched A&E last night ...it was a new one ....but didn’t think it was one of the best episodes ....did you ? It’s Celeb Masterchef tonight ....if you watch it we have a thread  How is your breathing etc now ? Hope it’s cleared up completely Hicky , glad your son is out of hospital ....how long will he be in the brace ? Glad your bulbs arrived ok too . Are you enjoying Love Island Oz ?

Anyway , I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you are doing . Take care and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Cloudy and miserable here, 16c with rain at 4pm and a gentle breeze.

A feller was coming at 4pm to see whats needed to lay the fake turf, he came at about 2pm and i had all he needed to so the job, a Stanley knife, the nails and a hammer, so he stayed and did the job.

Then we went to a ocal post office so i could get some cash out as i have ran out paying the gardener.

If you don't sleep one night then rest up the next day and do naff all.

Son can't put any weight on the leg for at least 2 weeks as it could damage the implant, i think they made some cartilage from stem sells or something, he did explain once some time ago, he can't go out for 2 weeks either.

Yes, pleased about the bulbs, these are the COB (chip on board), fitted 2 so will keep 2 handy, i took one of the faulty ones to bits, not an easy job, they aren't made to com to bits, didn't see any sign inside of a component that had burnt out, non had overheated, it had a 2cm square circuit board with 8 components on one side and 3 chips on the back, it couldn't have been the LED's that failed as they can't really, it had to be one of the components which control the voltage, the LED's are usually in banks of series and those banks are then put in parallel and have a say 12 volt feed from the power pack within the bulb.

I watch Love Island from the recordings so i am about 1 weekm behind but thats fine, on the Sky sport channel i was wqtching all sorts, golf, F2, F3 etc, great.

Keep safe, take it easy and hope you sleep tight.

Forgot to say, brekkie was 3 eggs on toast, tea was a defrosted steak casserole with a bit of spice added and a plate of french fries done in the oven, tasty.

sorry you had another bad night sleep wise but best to do just as you did and relax the next day.

I agree the new A and E was not the best of episodes, but I guess it is just chance and depends on who they get coming in and their stories, as to how interesting it is.

I still get breathless now and again, but at least I have the inhaler on repeat prescritpion, so can get a new one when I need it.

Hope the pain in your ankle is getting less often now.

Hicky

thanks for the bread cutter link, I will get one the same, as it is so awkward at time to slice the home made breads. and thanks for the knife link too.

That's good the guy could come and sort the turf out. Did he take you to get some cash or MrsH? That's the trouble now we don't go out much, we tend to run out of cash to hand.

Your son's op sounds quite high tech, he will have to remember to rest it.

We had camabert melted cheese with oven rolls and salad for tea, followed by lovely strawberries as I had a food delivery today.

Not much to watch on tv, so will watch a recording.

Weather not good here too today but forecast better by weekend.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Mrs H paid the man for laying the turf, i just needed some cash as i usually pay the gardener, if he is helping me out.

I also need to use my cards with a pin before i can use them on the contactless method, so one is done the other account needs doing now.

Yes, dons op is on the cartilage, he hasn't got a false joint, they are trying this method first as he didn't want a full knee replacement.

Yes, it looks like weather will pick up a bit soon, and warmer next week as well, also dryer.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Got the gas man here in the morning to get the smart meter system going again.

Hicky

Evening All.

Pretty miserable today really with 16c thick cloud and a gentle breeze.

Didn't do a lot had the gas man here changing the meter and getting the smart meter system working again.

For brekkie had 2 shrimp batches as my shopping had arrived curtesy of Mrs H doing the shopping.

For tea i took a frozen meal from the freezer, the first one i picked up was a beef and tomato so had that with a rice cake, added a little chilie paste in to liven it a bit.

Got the eye clinic in the morning, will have to get a taxi as Mrs H is working.

My pork scratchings came today, i get the 24 x 18g pack.

The face shields came, not so good if you wear glasses.

The grapes in the greenhouse are starting to turn colour, they could do with some nice sun, summer so far a disaster,

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

I'm happy with having F1 again from tomorrow, that will do for me.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you are well and had a good day today.

Hicky

hope your son's knee does well and he doesn't need the full replacement.

Thats good the gas man came and fixed the Smart meter.

We have had a new washing machine put in today.  The landlord agreed to insall and supply a new one for free for us, so no compaints from me. Turns out the drum had gone on our 20 year old machine, so not worth replacing it.

Well done to MrsH successfully supplying your shopping.

Glad to see you are looking forward to your F1.

Hope your eye clinic visit goes well, are you going to ask them about getting some more suitable glasses?

You are certainly not short of pork scratchings now. Watch your teeth on them though!

Where did you get your face shields from?  Yes must be awkward wearing them with glasses.

If the forecast is right, hopefully you will get some sun on those grapes.

Not nice weather wise here today, but it eventually stopped raining by 6pm in time for us to take doggie a walk. i had mini quiches (costco ones) for tea with MrM's potatoes and veg . Then straweberries and some oat crunchie tart son made for me. Very nice.

Just watching recordings tonight as don't fancy anything  on tv.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

My lad had to go back to the hospital as when he renoved the dressing on his knee to replace it he said it was wet and bleeing and swollen, they said to go back which he did, they cleaned it up and was going to put a drain in but didn't just redressed it, he sent me a picture, it is all stapled, not nice a t all.

If your drum had gone, must have been the bearings, that would make the belts try to leave the pulleys, not good.

I got 2 cheese and onion pasties on my shopping, just fancied them after you having some, or pies, similar.

The pork scratchings aren't the hard type, very nice.

The face visors were only cheap, ÂĢ9.99 for 5, not good ones like they had in the hairdressors, i got them from Amazon, i suppose good ones cost a fortune.

Yes, hoping for some sun, everthing is soaking because it hasn't been able to dry, and today there was no wind.

I have a punet of strawberries, 6 Kiwi and a load of Bananas 1.5kg is only just over ÂĢ1.

I've just been swapping and changing channels, saw some golf, watched them change a Landrover Defender to 4 wheel electric which did 1 to 60 in just over 5 seconds and a top speed over 100mph and worked fine off road, it was such a good job Landrover may be interested in what they did.

Stay safe, sleep tight.

Got the eye clinic in the morning, more fun.

Hicky

Afternoon Molie and Hicky  Sunny , if chilly here at the moment ....but I slept quite well again last night and the gardener has been and mowed the lawns ,so all in all not a bad day I’ve changed the sheets , done a load of washing and ironing and cleaned the kitchen .. I’ve just had my lunch ....lamb chops ....and now I’m slobbed out on the sofa watching Peak Practice Hope you are having a good day too .

Mollie , how are you liking your new washing machine ? Whatever did we do before them I didn’t get one until my kids were about 6/7 years old , so used to do all their nappies ( disposable ones were only just coming in ) in a baby burco boiler Gogglebox to look forward to tonight Hicky , hope your sons knee heals up well ....he has my sympathy . Hope things went well at the eye clinic today

Well my viewing is sorted for tonight ....Masterchef, gardeners World , Bettany Hughes and Gogglebox Hope you both  have a good evening . Stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Not too bad weather today, 17c with sunny intervals and sun with a fresh breeze.

Had a cheese and onion pasty for brekkie as i was going to the eye clinic at the hospital.

Got a taxi there as Mrs H was working 6.30 to 10.30am, had to have a temperature test and wear a face mask, the eye tests were the same as the last test 2 months ago, need another cataract op but pretty scared as if the next one goes the same as the first i would be blind.

Midday i had a cauliflower cheese, yummy.

For tea i took a container of beef in stock from the freezer and converted it to a Madras curry, had rice with it.

My backup roll of black bin bags came, 90 of the best.

Your lawns will be looking good now, you still doa  lot in a day, love lamb chops, prefer the rack though, the lamb always is so tender then.

Sons knee seems ok today, he showed me the staples on a picture, he said the surgeon uses them as they don't leave a depression on the scar line.

Recorded the first F1 practice session then watched the second.

Got a weekend of F1 and got some wood to make packers to lift some of the plants/trees Mrs H has bought for round the new grassed area, i have a load of 3x2 i can use, i havve the wood cutting machine in the garage.

Stay safe and keep smiling and sleep well again tonight.

Hicky

both

Baz

glad you slept well so had a productive day and your garden looks all nice again. Our grass has grown so quickly lately with that rain we had recently.

Enjoy your slob on the sofa , I am doing the same thing now.

I am loving the new washing machine. Nice and simple to use, so suits me well. And it does the job well.

Gosh you must of been incredibly busy with no washing machine and nappies to wash. I am afraid I went down the lazier Pampers route.  And I still found 3 under 4 years old hard work.

Good to see we have Gogglebox to look forward to tonight.

Hicky

shame you had to get a taxi for your appointment. A difficult decision about your cataracts op. Have they said why it made your eye worse instead of better? And why do they think it will help your other eye now?

I love cauliflower cheese, I bet you enjoyed that.

That's not nice your son had to go back to hospital with his knee, but good his knee is coming along well today though and the staples don't leave depressions.

You are going to be busy this weekend with the F1 and packers. At least it is a good weather forecast for the weekend.

The visors are good value from Amazon. Even if they aren't as good as the type workers use, they should be fine for you when you need to go anywhere.

Nicer day here today, got a go on swingchair, took doggie a walk. OH made pizzas for the family, takes ages becauseof the amount we need to make for 5 people. Difficult for him to roll the dough out thin enough to make a nice crisp pizza. It was delicious though. Daughter and I have BBQ sauce base, and mascapone as well as cheddar, and the rest of the family have cheese/tomato topping. Had strawberries and ice cream after.

Son has a Murder Mystery evening online with is drama group tonight, he has dressed up in his bow tie and suit.

Tv time for me now.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I don't think the problem with my left eye has anything to do with the cataract op, because after the op i had an eye test for new glasses and not sure when i realised i couldn't see with the left eye.

They haven't mentioned the right eye which needs a cataract op as well, i am too scared to mention it, but if i get new glasses when i need a cataract op, am i wasting my time.

I saw Mrs H have a cauli cheese last week, when i see something i want it.

Mrs H has bought special tins of hammerite black paint to spray the garden table and chairs, they are all steel and the table top is a type of grating which is rusting, plants keep appearing everywhere all of a sudden.

She is going to paint all the decking as well, she has that stored in the gazebo.

Mrs H had washing out as it was sunny and a strong wind to dry it.

I don't think they roll out dough for Pizzas, dont they flatten by hand then sling it round stretching it somehow, think it is too elastic to roll.

I'll see if i can see a video like i'm thinking.

I forgot to order ice cream this week, had some strawberries before, used my new corer, it is fantastic, so much better after using it.

Murder mystery son, good on him getting dressed up.

Have a good evening, sleep tight.
