Evening Mollie & Baz.

16c today with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Had cheese and pickles and cheese and piccalilli sandwich for brekkie and for tea i had mushroom soup then made a sandwich from some left over beef cut thin with slices of tomato ans some mild mustard, tasty, cut my bread very thin, not sure why.

Sent a picture of the laf and the bread pan to my BIL in Suffolk, he might get one, it was his recipe i used, he said anytime i fancy a break give him a bell, he's on his own of course, although one of his daughters is living within half a mile.

Did some tidying in the garden, was thinking of offering to make some raised beds around the area she wants fake grass next to the decking/gazeb/garage so she can plant flowers etc.

I had a crust off the bread while hot, so good.

Yes, a spud peeler very handy for winter as a lot of spuds used then.

Gave my neighbour more spuds, a cucumber and 2 grape trusses.

Yes, you had a long day Sunday, no wonder you needed some time to recover.

People never like to see themselves on the screen, of course you never look to yourself as you look to others, thats just the way it is, i agree, when edited many hours becomes a couple of minutes, they edit a show according to the total length they want.

Hope Baz has had a good day.

Have a good evening both.

Evening Mollie and Hicky Hope you’ve both had a good day . Just a quick visit to say hi before Bake Off starts  Glad you had a good day Mollie ......and I’ve also considered a house rabbit , but rejected the idea cos of the chewing etc Hicky , that loaf looks yummy  I’ll try and pop back later and catch up properly ....but have a good evening both

Baz

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re both  having a good day . Rained here first thing , but then the sun came out , so I’ve been into town , paid a bill , done some shopping , and posted a parcel ....as well as doing  a load of washing and ironing ...so a slightly more productive day than recently  The gardener was supposed to be coming to mow lawn and do an autumn tidy up but he’s had to reschedule.

I enjoyed Bake Off last night , and think the right person went ....but have to admit , while I quite like all the male contestants , and the vet and the Welsh girl I’m finding myself grrrrrring at the rest of the women ...especially Alice ...who is driving me mad !Anyway , Masterchef tonight , so have a good evening both . Take care

By the way Mollie ....Gogglebox is back on Friday

Evening Baz.

18c here today with sun most of the day and a fresh breeze.

Had bacon, sausage  and beans for brekkie, for tea o/h wanted a takeaway so i ordered that, she had a beef dinner with half and half, i had beef and tomato with separate chips, yummy, with chop suey rolls as well.

Did some work in the garden, was digging out the roots from the 4 trees i cut down the other day, they were suffering as the tubs are too small and i can't repot them, too much work, i'm going to use the old pots for veg next year. i think for the fruit trees you really need at least 100 Litre.

I enjoyed Bake Off, was hoping they would make a normal loaf, but no such luck, they have to do weird stuff as usual.

I'll watch masterchef, some strange food coming out.

You have been busy today, shopping posting, washing ironing, pity the gardener couldn't make it, oh well, another time.

Gone very cloudy here will have to close the curtains, lights come on inside the bungalow when the light outside fails.

Have a good evening.

Oh, materchef in Fords Dagenham Engine plant, worked there a few times doing some software for the production system, can't remember when, think it was before the car factory closed.

Baz

pity the gardner had to reschedule but we have a good forecast coming up, so hopefully he will be able to make it back then.

Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday,... nice to unwind with some good tv now we have some interesting autumn after a busy day though isn't it?

Hicky

Its nice to have a takeaway treat now and again, glad you and OH enjoyed it.

That is the trouble as stuff grows, you need to reassess garden requirments. HOpefully the new 100 litre tubs will do the job. When we moved in this house, the last tenants had planted 2 small Christmas tress, now they are huge, and grow over the garden fence. OH says they are planted too close together now, so could do with a move, but it is only a small garden, so not sure where we could move to.

That's interesting that you worked at the same place Masterchef was.

Was busy yesterday helping son fill in for a job application, so hard when you first start doing these and you don't know what to write. Learning to woffle whilst blowing your own trumpet does not come easy at 1st when job hunting.

I managed to go to aquafit today as son gave me lift. Havent been for couple of weeks and my achy body today reminds me of that fact! I will have to try harder to go regularly again.

Was raining most of the morning, but cleared up this afternoon in time for me to get washing out.

Have a good day both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Not too bad today at 20c cloudy though, rain threatened all day, had some in the night but very little today.

Had a bacon on toast for brekkie, for tea decided to have the other half of the beef and tomato from last night, cooked some rice to have it with.

Gave the trees some compost tea, did more tidying in the garden.

A friend came round, he also worked with me on contracts all over Europe and the UK, his wife died last year, she had COPD very bad, have known him for many many years, probably 40 or more.

I gave him grapes, cucumber, chillies to take home, i liked his car he has a new Dacia Duster, a lovely car, it only has a 1.2L engine but you can get a Diesel with 4 wheel drive.

I have ordered the taxi for the Morning to go to the hospital, just hope they can do the op.

Not sure if you will be able to move your christmas trees now with established roots, why move them, just cut them down and cut up intot the rubbish.

Don't think i ever filled in a job application, not that i can remember anyway so i couldn't help in any way, but don't oversell yourself as it will always come to light later, i would say though that the words to include are hard working, consencious, keen to learn, and good at taking instructions.

Never say you can do anything that you can't.

Yes you can suffer if you miss the aquafit, your body must need it to carry on.

Just watching the Hairy Bikers on the 2,440 mile Route 66, fantastic.

Glad you managed to get your washing out, have moved the swing seat back where it was so i can sit in the sun now again.

Have a good Night,

Hope Baz has had a good day.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I hope you’re both  having a good day .  Not a good one chez Baz  .....and the gardener cried off again .... but the weather is good , so  I have managed to change the bed , wash and iron ...so I’ve not been totally lazy

Mollie ...hope your aches and pains are a little better today...I’m sure Gogglebox will help   Hicky , wow fancy you having been to Fords  I am really liking Dom on Masterchef ....but I think all of them are better than last weeks cohort

Anyway , I hope you both have an enjoyable evening ...I’m off to make myself a cuppa before watching Antiques Road Trip

Baz

sorry it was not such a good day for you, hope that gardener sorts things out for you soon. Sounds like you have taken advantage of the good weather by being a busy bee though.

You are so right, a good dose of my fave Gogglebox being back again, will help relieve the aches and pains. Thankfully they are not as bad as yesterday though.

Hicky

How did the hospital go? If they did the op, hope all went well and that it improves your sight well.

how nice your friend of many years came over, I am sure you are not short of things to talk about with all the diverse contracts you have worked on. Good for him too to visit you, as it is such a short time since he lost his wife.I bet he enjoys the produce you gave him. I have never heard of one of those cars you mention.

Yes OH thought it would be hard to move the Christmas trees, the trouble is the 2 of them are so close together one side of each is squashing the growth of the other, so they look odd. But OH will have a go at tidying them up.

Good idea to follow the sun with your swingchair. I too noticed the sun has moved but we don't need to move the swingchair yet, but we do get shaded earlier. Luckily there was still plenty of time to sit in it today as it was so warm. Got 5 washloads dried today too. Went to costco for food shopping, had my usual £1.50 meal. They have some lovely huge Christmas decorations in there now.

Thank you for the job form buz word hints, those are all great ones.

I didn't watch Hairy Bikers, I had gone off them because all they starting talking about at one time was diet food. But this new show you mention sounds interesting. Gogglebox is the one I am looking forward to tonight, I have missed the old regulars on that, we haven't seen them for so long.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie & Baz.

A lovely day here with 22c sun and a nice breeze.

Qasn't on last night as i couldn't see good enough, after being at the hospital from 6.45 am till 2 pm and apart from being worn out my eye was so uncomfy i just had to got to bed, i have to cover the eye with the plastic guard at night for 2 weeks and put drops in 4 times a day for 4 weeks.

And to have the operation while wide awake is pretty awful, more than awful, traumatic is more like it, it was in 2 parts, the deadening, which i thought was the operation, untill they said we are going to the theater now, i nearly died, that took another 20 minutes, maybe, it felt like a week.

I rang the o/h to get a lift home, i couldn't see good enough with my good eye and i just wanted to try and keep the covered eye closed but i couldn't get at it, i got some soup then jumped in bed to rest it.

this morning i found the eye lids has glued themselves shut so i had to get some cotton wool balls and boiled water to bath the eye, then i could open it at last, it felt ok, so relieved, i think it takes a while to get better but at least i am back were i started for now.

For brekkie i had sausages with tinned toms and toast, for tea o/h gave me a piece of fresh salmon so i added a piece of cod loin and did a mini pack of microwave chips.

Mollie, If your 2 trees are growing together you may not be able to separate the roots as they could be entwined, if they had only been planted a year it would probably be ok to move but then they will start getting well rooted.

Thats a lot of washing to get dried, wow 5 lots, don't blame you getting your usual if you go to Costco, and can understand why they are selling Christmas stuff, the summer was a washout saleswise.

Baz, Sorry to hear the gardener couldn't make it, but the garden can wait, you have been busy though, if you want to be lazy, why not, you do what you want not what you could.

Hope you both have a great evening and a lovely Sunday.

Hicky

Baz

hope you had a good day, and hopefully with good weather.

Hicky

sorry you had such an awful time with this operation. Let's hope after going through all that, it has done its job and gives you are great improvement with your eyesight.

Glad today you are now feeling well enough to post and enjoy your food too.

Yes I reckon you are right and the roots would be entwined of the 2 trees as they are so close together, so all we can do it just to tidy them.

Enjoyed seeing Gogglebox back again last night. Only criticism is there seems to be rather a lot of newbies, so we didn't get to see enough of the 2 elderly Bristol ladies.

Weather was fabulous today, especially for this time of year.

We went to visit mum's elderly sisters in Birmingham for the day. Had a good day, we got treated to lunch in the pub. I had veggie burger, salad and sweet potato fries. We looked through lots of old family photos that I had taken that were my mums. Some were from the 1930's.

Another relative was with us too and we know they have been working on updating a Volkswagon van for a long time. But what they told us about this van today surprised us. You might know Ellie Goulding got married at York Minster recently... well she chose to arrive in this van that my relative had worked so hard on.   Someone contacted my relative and asked them if they could use it and came to collect it. It has an electric motor and she particularly wanted something with an electric motor.

Here it is...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/ne...er-bedecked-flowers/

my relative had chosen their van to be blue because they support Birmingham City. They told me whilst they were there for the wedding (in the crowd), and when others were waiting for the bride saying "I wonder what she will arrive in, I bet its a Rolls"...my relative said they thought she'd choose a blue Volkswagon van. They thought my relative was psychic when Ellie did arrive in a blue van.. until my relative told them the reason they knew, was because they owned it .

Been watching the end of Last Night of the Proms, as i like the music.

When I was at school I used to love" Jerusaleum" because we always sang it on the last day of term.

Goodnight both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re all having a good Sunday , whatever you’re doing I’ve done two loads of washing , and been for my spa hour ....apart from that I’ve done naff all  I saw an advert for the new series of The Apprentice last night ....it will soon be so many programmes , so little time

Mollie , lol at the wedding van...how lovely I enjoyed Gogglebox too....but totally agree about the new ones ...none of them impressed my tbh ...but perhaps they will grow on us Hicky , your eye op sounds horrendous ....but I guess that as long as it improves things in the end it will be worth it

Anyway, I both you have a good evening ....I will be watching the Island Take care .

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Not a good day weatherwise here with 17c cloud drizzle and a fresh breeze.

Didn't sleep much last night, maybe it was the lack of decaf tea, woke a couple of times then couldn't get back to sleep, the eye drops seem to leave my eye when it waters and it makes the skin itchy, sort of, i have to sleep with the plastic eye cover on taped with surgical tape, but if i lift the tape it won't stick back again.

Had a bacon roll for brekkie and a slice of toast midday, for tea roasted 4 medium spuds from the garage and went halves with o/h on a cauliflower and a cabbage, it made a nice Sunday dinner with 2 lovely meaty chops.

Didn't do any work in the garden as they have told me not to do any work at all so the garden will have to wait.

I have ordered a new set of 4 pans, rather nice with glass lids and stay cool handles, 25 year guarantee.

Had a half hour vid session on messenger this morning via o/h tablet from Oz, the little one is coming on great, she will be 1 next Sunday.

Mollie, The eye doesn't hurt during the day which is a bonus, i was hoping it wouldn't, it must be bleeding at the back though as i have the curved lines back.

That was nice getting treated to lunch in Birmingham and always good to catch up on what is happening.

Strange wanting a blue VW to get taken to the wedding in.

Baz, That was nice having your Spa, looking forward to the Apprentice again, as you say, all the programs will come at once.

Yes, Treasure Island at 9pm tonight.

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Better today than i was expecting according to the forecast,

16c with light cloud and sunny intervals with a gentle breeze.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie then o/h fancied a trip to Gordale garden center, got an ice cream, it must be the best garden center in the world, it has the most fantastic array of presents etc you could imagine, i got a card for o/h as her Birthday on Friday.

Then we went to Parkgate for fish and chips, so good, the best ever.

For tea i just had seafood soup and toast.

Made an appointment to get the eye checked, you don't go back to the hospital these days the check up is farmed out.

Had a swing in the garden as i'm not allowed to do any work.

Not a lover of putting drops on my eye, i am an awful shot, can't see this micro bottle lasting too long at this rate, the qty in the bottle is 5ml which is a teaspoon full, and i am expected to get 112 drops from the bottle, that if i didn't waste any, no chance surely.

Have a good Night.

Hicky

both

I must of forgotten to post yesterday, but I have a feeling I might of forgotten to press "submit" as I remember reading your posts...

Baz

hope you have had a good day. Are you too getting this autumn sunshine? Hope so.

I didn't see the Apprentice ad, but that is another show I enjoy watching.

Hicky

glad you got to the nice garden centre, and also got to enjoy fish and chips out.

Hope your eyes are ok when you go for check up. Where do they send you as you can't go back to hospital? I hope wherever they send you know what they are doing.

Yes very difficult for you to do your own eye drops, but I guess if your OH is at work you have no choice.

Good job the weather was nice enough for you to to have a swing as you can't do any work at the moment.

How nice you got the see the little one in sky agian, how sweet she turns 1 on sunday.

Managed to motivate myself to go swimming and aquafit, except the teacher was feeling off, so was 20 mins late starting. But she told me they had no one else, so had to go in.

Lovely day here today.

went to see neighbour who had invited me to bring daughter to see her dog, who had had 5 puppies last Friday.

They looked like little hamsters and made squeking noises. We did hold a couple of them and mine went to sleep in the palm of my hand. They are Yorkshire terriers, but are all black until they grow older and get some colourings.

Watching Repair Shop now, then looking forward to Bake Off. Wonder what they make on dairy week?

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Cool today at 16c with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Had Mac & Cheese on toast for brekkie.

Mde some more Shortbread, the Scottish recipe but too sweet for o/h.

My new Ziplock bags came, and my new Pans, very nice.

It's my friend, ex work mate you had the car, the Dacia Duster, it's lovely, his is a dark blue, he got it as ex Demo with a handful of miles on the clock, it does about 65 to the gallon.

Had another video this morning, 2 in fact of the granddaughter almost walking just holding daddies hand.

For tea o/h gave me half a chicken, was going to have prawns with a balti curry so changed menu quick, had 3 of my medium spuds in the oven so had them with the chicken curry, added more curry sauce so will have enough to free another 2 or 3 meals.

Had a couple of swings in the sun.

Have gone back to drinking tea as the coffee with the coffee mate tasted strange, not sure why?

My left eye that had the Op has got the AMD wet problem back so not very good for seeing anything.

The hospital gave me a list of about 12 Opticians to get an appointment, there is one that is less than a mile away so i am going their, have been before in the past.

O/H wont do my drops, she says it's easy, not very sympathetic i fear so i'll just have to struggle. and with 4 times a day it's quite a challenge.

I have offered to take o/h to the chinese all you can eat buffet friday or saturday for her birthday, save buying a present as i wouldn't know what to buy anyway.

Oh dear, such bad luck your teacher not well, can't be helped.

Wasn't sure whether it was ok to handle new born puppies, i know with some animals you have to wear gloves as if the mother smells something on the baby she kills them, which is pretty drastic but each baby must have it's own smell, i can only assume they are all ok.

Just watched the repair shop, recording the bake off, watching the chateau diy for now.

Hope you haven't been doing to much Baz, don't wear yourself out.

Have a good evening Both.

Hicky

Evening Mollie and Hicky I thought I’d been an posted already ...honestly , I’m losing the plot Hope you have both had a good day . Weather here was lovely , so I popped into town ...and the gardener finally came , so my lawns are all neat and tidy again

Hicky , hope your eyes settle down soon Mollie , well done on the exercise Anyway , I’m in the middle of watching Bake Off , so I’ll love you and leave you ...and go back to giggling about the mess they made of the technical challenge Enjoy your evening

Baz

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hairdresser has been , so my hair is coloured, cut and is now as neat as the lawns Apart from that I’ve done two loads of washing , and a bit of tidying up in the garden , cos it’s garden waste collection tomorrow ....so not a totally wasted day .  I’m also thinking of joining a Games Club at the library next month  ....at the very least it’s free tea and biscuits  I don't think the right person got evicted on Bake Off last night ....nor won star baker I think Priya should have gone home ...not Ian

Anyway , hope you are both having a good day and enjoy your evening

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

17c today, sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Didn't have brekkie as we went to Claremont farm shop for a few bits, got fruit meats etc with bacon, chops, eggs, curry.

Gardener came as well, so got a lot done, not that i could do anything, have now cleared the area that o/h wants grass of one form or another, the apple trees are now down the garden, all tree stumps removed and all tubs located down the bottom as well.

For tea i decided on packs of cracker type biscuits with salami, cheese and piccalilli, saved cooking as gardener didn't leave till 6pm he came at 3pm so he got a lot done.

Glad you gardener came Baz, garden will look lovely now, and getting your hair done will cheer you up as well.

I reciorded bake off, was going to watch masterchef but this group is doing that stupid pair challenge again, thought it was stupid so turned over, bad enough watching it once.

Yes, join the game club at the libray, why not, and tea and biscuits sounds good and meeting other people is always a good thing.

My eyes are fighting each other, the new cataract one is bleeding at the back again and the other one needs a new cataract so i'm struggling to see at all as each one is hopeless on it's own so need the 2 which is difficult.

Have a good night

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Can't find your post mind, which is strange.

Nice here today, better than the forecast as i had sun all day with no wind.

Had bacon and sausage with beans for brekkie, as i had to repack them all into clingfilm, in 2's.

Did more tidying in the garden, the whole area next to the bungalow at the back is cleared now, i will probably move most of the salte to the area further down as i don't want to bury it, i need more anyway down the garden and in the greenhouse.

Had some ideas from o/h while she was in the garden to see what she would like, flower wise etc and whereabouts.

For tea i had a look in the garage freezer as i tons of meals i have made previously, i saw a Butter Prawn meal so thought i would cook extra prawns and add some of my Bottled Jalapeno chilies and cook a bowl of rice, it was very tasty.

I was going to make a beef curry but i can't just keep making meals.

Forecast is for even better weather tomorrow and Saturday.

Have a good Evening.

Hicky

Baz and Hicky

Baz

glad to hear both your garden and hair is sorted now. (not sorted by the same person I should imagine though, unless your hairdresser uses a lawnwmower any way).

What a good idea to join a game thing at the library, a bit of company and an interest for you. Oh, and the free tea and biscuits is a definate bonus.

I agree about Bake Off, i was shocked by who went.

Hicky

sounds like Claremount has got you well stocked up again. and the gardener's help came in useful.

Pity your eyes are struggling so much, let's hope the bleeding stops and they settle, as it is early days since the op. Do they plan to operate on the other one?

What does your OH fancy flower wise in the garden?

It is good you have so many different ideas of what menus to do.

I had salad and halloumi wrap tonight, I love halloumi.

Been for a swim  then aquafit, as it does help my aches and pains. Am shattered now though.

Lovely day today,, very hot again, so good to get washing dry.

Looks to be hot again for next few days, so that is good.

Have a good evening. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

We posted together i see, no wonder i couldn't see your last post.

I see the Optician on Saturday the 28th, i get the flu jab on the 27th, the Optician reports the findings to the hospital, as far as i know, i don't see the hospital till October 18th, no idea about the other eye, they probably wait for this one to settle, but i will probably have to have the monthly injections again.

Yes, Claremont farm has some good fresh foods, the veg are huge, all the food is a good price, it has many shelves of pickles etc, tons of them, just a variety of foods, loce it.

Got a couple more curry sauces, chilli and a hot Balti, for future use, when my stocks run down.

Glad you got the swim and the aquafit you need that for your arthritis.

Had quite a few swings in the sun today, no wind at all.

One of my relations was on Tipping Point tonight, o/h told me, i missed it so recorded the +1 which is ITV+1 so i could see, she won £4,150, would have got a lot more if she has pressed the button at the right time, you would think they would show them how to play wouldn't you.

Have a good Evening.

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Can't see a post though.

Had to agree to the cookies, and F5 and sign in again.

21c today with sun all day and a moderate breeze.

Had soft boiled eggs for brekkie with crispy toast.

Did a few jobs in the garden, unscrewed loads of unused wooden tub surrounds, made originally to keep the sun from the tub water supply.

Had a few swings on the swing in the sun.

We had a takeaway again as o/h didn't fancy going out for a meal, i got chips with doner meat and curry with a portion of hot chicken wings.

Will have to record the F1 qualifying so i can watch strictly tomorrow.

Wished o/h happy Birthday and gave her the card.

Saw a video online from the granddaughters nursery school, her first steps at walking alone, fantastic.

Have a good evening all.

Evening Mollie and Hicky Hope you’ve both been enjoying the autumn sunshine....and that your eyes are improving HickyBy the way, the Apprentice starts on Wednesday 2nd October  I’ve not done much the last couple of days ....although I did manage to drag myself to town today ....so that’s my exercise and vitamin D for the week Although I’m considering joining a yoga class ....have either of you got any experience?

Anyway , I’m off to watch Gardeners World , the Apprentice and Gogglebox ...so a full nights viewing  Hope you both have a good evening

It might be nice for you to give yoga a go, nothing to lose if you aren't keen, but a lot to gain, on the fitness and company side, if you do like it. Haven't had experience of yogaIf you like a swimming pool, I can recommend aquafit, as it is nice to exercise to the music, and you only put in as much effort as you want to. You don't need to be able to swim either.

Not long until the Apprentice now then. Its good you have a good choice of tv shows to watch now.

Glad you got into town, as you say, it is good to try and get vit D whilst we can, ready for autumn weather to see us through.

Hicky

Happy Birthday to your OH.

Good idea to have a takeaway treat, if she didn't feel like going out for a meal.

I too went on the swingchiar today, so good the nice weather has meant we have been able to do this for awhile now. Got my washing dry too.

How lovely you got to see your grandaughter walking now.

Went to Cardiff today to get the boys a few clothes from Primark. Then went to costco, lots of free food samples, and had lunch there. Their Christmas decs were lovely. Most of them huge because as you know they sell a lot to shop traders. I bought OH a beer advent calendar as they tend to sell out quick. Had a laugh with son trying to get it in car wihtout OH seeing it, as it is so heavy!

Have a good evening both.

Am enjoying watching Gogglebox now.

hope you are both having a good Saturday.

Plenty of tv for us to look forward to tonight, what with Strictly and BGT.

Been a lovely hot sunny day here today, hope it has been for you both too.

Had a little swing on the swing chair.

Then we went for a walk on seafront this afternoon, and so did a lot of other people as it was very busy. Lots in the sea and on the beach. Had an orange and lemon sorbet in seafront ice cream shop.... very nice. Good to have such warm weather this late in September.

Evening Mollie & Baz.

A lovely day here, 23c with sun all day and a moderate breeze.

Didn't have an early brekkie as had a relative coming over, he is 21 today and is the stepson of one of my sons, we are going to pay for him to have a course of driving lessons as he really needs to get a license.

Later i had the left over hot wings from last night and a salad o/h left, have the other half of the meal for tea.

Am updating the laptop so i can get some of o/h's videos etc from her phone and tablet.

Mollie. To celebrat o/h birthday and the 21 year olds birthday we are going to go to the All day Carvery in Parkgate, taking his 2 step sisters as well, we can't leave then behind, and his mum as well, we owe the girls a carvery or Sunday Roast.

Yes, fantastic seeing granddaughter walking alone, she is away now, once you start, thats it, and she gets ivited to birthday parties as well, they went to one yesterday and there was a whole roast pig on the table, my lad says he's going to get one as well. only $470 AUD.

I imagine that beer advent calendar is fantastic, he will love that.

Baz, I've never done Yoga, not sure what is involved but your should try it, nothing to lose.

If you don't need to do anything, then don't, i say, now i'm retired if i can leave it to tomorrow then leave it, no rush.

Recording Strictly, am recording tonights Celeb Catchphrase on +1 and watching F1 qualifying highlights.

Have a good evening both.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re both  having a good weekend . Weather has changed here ....big thunderstorm this morning ....but it’s still warm.  I’ve been for my spa hour , which has helped a bit ....but I’ll be less less stressed once I’ve spoken to the doctor about my body tomorrow !

Did you both enjoy Strictly last night ? I thought they seemed a promising bunch ....and I was pleasantly surprised by the new judge ....but time will tell I  thought Shirley was horrible to Anton and his partner though  ....I wish she’d gone instead of Darcy.  I enjoyed Gogglebox too Mollie ....its always good for a giggle  I’ve been retired for 12 years now Hicky ....and totally buy into the not doing anything if you don’t want to

Anyway , enjoy your evening both ....it’s the Island for me Take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Cooler today at 19c with heavy rain and thundery showers, which never came, cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had a video link with my lad and his family in Oz this morning, so good.

Had bacon and beans for brekkie.

Made a lamb shank casserole for tea and an apple crumble.

Going to make Shortcake biscuits in the morning.

Glad you managed to go to your Spa session, hope all goes well at the Doctors tomorrow.

Enjoyed Strictly, i agree about Shirley, liked Darcy, love the new judge, Oti's Sister.

I should have retired in 2004 but worked another 10 years as i loved it so much, but retired in 2014 i think as my knee had gone, i since had it replaced.

Have a good evening, just about to watch F1 from Singapore. i saw the track are while i was in Singapore, not keen on street racing, too dangerous.

Hicky

Evening Everyone.

19c today with cloud this morning and light rain this afternoon with a moderate breeze.

Had sausage sandwiches for brekkie.

Been taking the vids and pictures from o/h phone and tablet to make room, put them onto the laptop then coppied onto a usb stick.

Made Shortcake biscuits which seem to be scones over here, messed up somehow, half got burnt and were on the same tray, i opened the oven too late.

Going to make scones next anyway.

For tea i had one of my stored beef stews, had too much pepper in it so changed the gravy for new stuff.

Bad news for Thomas cook, can't believe they were over 1.7 billion in debt, a few hundred million boost was going to do nothing.

Pleased to have Strictly take 2 back as well.

Have a good Evening all.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Nice weather for ducks !Ive had a very lazy day ....took first increase in my meds’ this morning so I’ve been taking things easy ....plus my arm is still quite sore from the flu jab they threw in for good measure ....well those are my excuses,  and I’m sticking to them  Hope you are both  having a good day , despite the weather

I agree about Thomas Cook Hicky ....awful for so many people,  on so many levels  Hope your eyes are a bit better now ....and that Mollie is ok . I’m looking forward to Bake Off tonight ...although the brief is a bit strange Anyway , have a good evening both . Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Rain here as well, 17c with a gentle breeze.

Didn't do much today as i don't like rain, cut down the big Watermelon as it is ripe now, weighed it, only 4 LB ( 1.7kg ) haven't opened it yet.

Had mushrooms and tomatoes for brekkie as they need using up.

For tea i made a mixed grill of Chops x 2, sausages x 2, bacon x 4, hash brown mushrooms x 2  and tomato, pretty darn good as well, had to stage it all going into the oven though.

Tomorrow we are going out for brekkie, then on to the Farm Shop, then to Bromborough to get a 1lt spray bottle of window cleaner.

Hope to make some Scones tomorrow, o/h got me the flour and the Sultanas to go in it, and the jam and cream to put in the finished product.

Hope your meds change do the trick and hope your arm soon gets back to normal.

Couldn't believe that there are now 600 Pilots out of work from Thomas Cook going under, how many cabin staff then, it must be thousands, and all the people that clean and make all the food etc, and all the staff from the shops and airports.

I record Bake off anyway, in case i can't watch it.

Hope Mollie is ok, no word for a few days.

Have a good Evening.

Hicky

I made a thread about this in the Big Brother forum....but thought I’d post it in here too .

I've had several phone calls today purporting to be from Amazon Prime ....which I don’t have ....and saying they are going to take a subscription out of my bank account ...and the usual press 1 to stop it ! I have checked it out and it’s yet another scam ....so don’t be fooled !

I have found this recent BBC article about the scam .

Baz and HIcky

Oooppss, looks like I forgot to tell you we decided last minute to go visit my aunt and uncle in Northampton whilst OH was off work. Didn't take lappy, so couldn't come on when I was away but I am back now. Had a nice time with them, went to pub for one meal and aunt good cook so also did us some meals and made a lovely lemon merinque pie. It was a 3 hour drive each way.

off to read back what you have been up to.

M

Baz

hope your new meds off the doc suit you ok now and you are feeling ok after that flu jab. Don't blame you taking it easy after that, if I need a visit to the docs I get so stressed, its exhausting.

Gosh thanks for the scam warning, all these scams are such a nuisance, you can't trust any phone calls lately.

We too had thunder here, some real loud claps overnight.

Hicky

Hope your home made scones turn out nice and yummy. Shame about the shortbread.

A nice treat and a good way to start the day with a brekkie out tomorrow.

Gosh 600 pilots alone out of work, the effect of this on jobs in UK and abroad is going to be just awful.

Watched Bake Off, which I enjoyed, now watching The Circle, not sure if I like it, with this pretending to be someone else stuff.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Weather not too bad today, 18c sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

went out for brekkie, one of those serve yourself all you can eat ones, not bad, then went to the farm shop for a few bits.

Had a visitor this afternoon, a grandson, he's 18 training at a college in some type of design using cad systems, gave him a big bag of Jalapeno green chilies and 2 pair of disposable gloves to use to slice them up.

Had a steak and gravy pie for tea with the last 2 shortcake biscuits which are scones, had the butter, jam and cream with them.

Will make the proper scones in the morning.

Strung my onion up the other day, watched a video on how to do it, works well, looks good, rather heavy though as these are big onions.

Mollie, Glad you had a good time at your aunt & uncle, 3 hours is a good drive, yes, wondered where you had got to.

Gone off bake off, saw the circle, looks pretty grim to me, might watch 1 more day, like the Island, what a load of rubbish, people who haven't got a clue how to do anything never mind survive.

Baz, Yes, you sure need to think twice these days, so easy to be taken in, had a fake email the other day saying it was from my lad in Oz, my email system shows me the name it says it has come from and the name and email address it really has come from, and the fake link address the link goes to.

Just so many scams these days, just assume any emails could be fake and any phone calls probably are, even if it shows a real phone number, they can get the display to show any number they want, why BT allow this to happen i don't understand, it seems criminal to me.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Evening Mollie and Hicky Hope you’ve both had a good day . Glad you are ok Mollie Glad you had a nice break though . Hicky , yes , the Thomas cook failure has so many knock on effects ...all those poor employees and sub contractors

Weather was a bit better here today , so I popped into town and got some fresh air , before it closes in again . Plus I’ve booked myself on a yoga class on Friday ....wish me luck I thought that they sent the wrong people home on Bake Off last night ....and I didn’t agree with the star baker either ...the judging seems very suss this year Anyway , MC shortly , so I will love you and leave you Have a good evening both

Baz

both

so nice of you both to notice my absence, it does us all good to feel wanted.

and I enjoy posting with you both.

Baz

that's good you managed to pop into town inbetween the rain.

Well done booking into yoga on Friday, I know it takes guts for you to try new things, but so much to gain if you enjoy it.

Yes choice of who they evict and star baker on Bake Off is rather odd this year.

Hicky

I love help yourself brekkie, especially when you have good choices.

That's nice your grandson came to visit, sounds like he is in line for a good career choice.

I should of guessed your onions would be big ones! I bet they will be very tasty, think I'd have them as a cheese and onion pannini.

I agree, that Circle programme is rubbish, I turned it off in the end.

Watching the new series of Doc Martin now, nice easy going viewing.

We visited this part of Cornwall some years ago now, and had our photos taken outside Doc Martins surgery.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

17c today with light cloud in the morning and light rain in the afternoon, a fresh breeze to go with it.

I made a tray of Mary Berry recipe fruit Scones this morning while o/h was out, i will post the pics in this post.

Had a scone for brekkie with clotted cream and jam, yummy.

For tea i had mushroom soup then slices of salami with small pieces of crumbly cheese wrapped inside, yummy, oh and another scone.

Took a parcel in today for a neighbour opposite, she had been to the naming of the new exploration ship The David Attenborough at Camel Lairds Shipyard Birkenhead a few miles away from me, i remember working their when they were building the new high building so they could put ship parts together under cover then slide the ship part out while it added more behind under cover.

Mollie, Very pleased with the onions this year, will probably get them to grow again next year.

It's getting harder to find good programs to watch during the week.

Baz, Hope you enjoy the Yoga when you go, always good to try new things.

I didn't watch the baking, it is a bit boring, stopped watching Masterchef now as they have changed the original format and now it's just boring  a handful of people each time and they all do the same thing, i watched them cooking one each side of a partition, why would i want to watch that 10 times or whatever they are doing, it's lost the plot, i used to enjoy it, now it is broken down into tons of heats or something.

Have a lovely evening.

Oh, my scones.

Scones
Mary Berry recipe scones, yummy.

Of course you have to add the Clotted cream and Strawberry jam.
