Hi both.

Heavy rain overnight and rain this morning. It did brighten up late afternoon, but everything was sodden, so I didn't go out.
At least things are looking a lot greener again I suppose.
Still reasonably warm, but only in the high teens.

Hicky. I like Sainsburys Black puddings. I get the ready sliced ones on a tray.
That's strange that the delivery driver isn't allowed to be early?

Pity to give up cake making now. But i guess you've had quite a few failures?
Glad the new knife is just the job for your bread slicer gadget.
Yes, the greenhouse sections will give you something to do.

I see on the News that the hosepipe ban that they are bringing in next month will include Liverpool. Will that have any impact on your watering system do you think.

Certainly for a holiday let, then the landlord or letting agency would take care of the garden. If they were letting for longer periods then it would depend on the type of lease I suppose. my own landlady has no responsibility for the garden here. I can do what I like in it.
The farm does cut the back of the hedge on the field side, but i have to do my side.

Mollie. That's exciting that you were involved as an extra for your son's film. Wonder if we'll ever be able to see it?
Interesting that it took 2 hours to film a sequence that'll only last a few seconds in the film.

Yes, the gardener is the last concern when working out all the details of the house sale, but if they want me to continue I'll need to have the details of who I'm dealing with. They'll probably also have to give me a key to the garage, if they want me to continue to use the ride-on mower.
The old client still owes me for about 6 weeks work, so I'll have to send a final bill to him I guess.

I suppose as long as you've picked up a few words of Welsh over the years, that isn't bad. Does it get spoken when you visit your OH's family in North Wales?

Watched 'Inside the factory' on BBC2, about coffee production. The the thing about Facebook on CH4.

Evening emptybox,

A bit warmer today at 22c with sunny intervals, light winds of 5 to 8.

Didn't do a lot today.

Had some bacon and toms for brekkie.

Started cutting and marking for drilling ,the next set of support frames for the greenhouse, i have the new work bench and heavy vice to use which will save me cutting on the summerhouse floor etc.

For tea i decided on having some more Samosa's so took 6 from the freezer, then saw the last of the bean-sprouts so decided to fry them and get some prawns out, added some curry and had that.

I was going to make some curry samosa but decided to use up more stored food first.

At least my water butts are full again, lack of sun has turned off the watering for the greenhouse.

The watering sensor in the raised beds stopped that from getting water for 2 days, if it rains then it doesn't need it anyway.

This was the Bury whole U black pudding, very nice too, had one boiled but the one fried was best.

No, the hose pipe ban shouldn't effect me, i don't use a hosepipe don't have grass and don't wash cars.

The delivery drivers aren't allowed to be early because they could be breaking speed limits or taking short cuts so their driving is monitored.

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

Pity the rain meant you couldn't get out, but as you say it is good to look green again. Not had much rain still here so it is still scorched looking.

Gosh at old client owing you for 6 weeks work, hope they pay up.

Glad to see your work bench and vice are coming into their own now.

Good job no hosepipe ban would affect you. We dont use hosepipe either.

Hicky

how nice your lad is getting 4 months off work. Wil that cover when the baby is born and when you visit? Hope you can sort insurance out for open ended ticket. I know you usually put dates in for insurance quotes, but should think you could get one for Oz, as they are probably used more for going there.

don't you think Laura will go for the older guy who is nearer her age? I think she will. As you say it is like seeing better food on the next table.

We did at least get free theatre tickes for volunteering, so that is good and it was a lot of fun, but can't see me volunteering at any time for the military!

Any news on your OH's knee?

Went to Cardiff today, I got some strawberries with melted choccy from Thorntons. Delicious. And some new fluffy grey slippers with a plastic pearl in the middle for ÂĢ4.

Watching Love Island now.

Son been working on the filming set for 11 hours today. They have finished it now.

I'll let you know when it is being aired. Gosh I am beginning to wonder what an idiot I will look if the shots of the crowd include me? ?

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Dull and cloudy again here. In fact we haven't much sunshine for a few days now. At least it stayed dry today.

Got one job done, where the grass had grown. Then went to do a series of jobs in one street, and none of them had grown at all, so had to leave them for a week or so.
Mind you, i was quite pleased to go home early as I was having bad symptoms today, so I was better off at home with the toilet near.
Much better tonight though.

Hicky. That's good that the hosepipe ban wouldn't affect you, if you are getting the water from your water butts. As long as you are not filling them up from the hose?
Well done on getting to work on your greenhouse project.

Mollie. I normally only bill that client every 2 months, so wasn't due to send a bill till the beginning of August, but will send it early if they've completed the sale.
The trouble is he won't have the same incentive to pay up, as I won't be working for him any more. And he lives in London.
(he's the one who hadn't paid the June bill till I saw him in person and he paid up in cash, so it doesn't look too good)

Yes I would think there's a bit of difference in volunteering to be an extra in a film and volunteering for a mission in the army. And at least you got free theatre tickets out of it.
That's good that the filming is now finished for your son.
Hope you are pleased with your new fluffy slippers complete with plastic pearls.

Watched CH4 tonight. 'Live Well for Longer' then 24 Hrs in A&E then 'Stath Lets Flats'. That's quite funny, even though it is silly.

Evening Both. :

Not a bad day, 21c but it was 23c on my Gazebo thermometer, sunny and light winds of 6 to 10.

Started work on making more sections of the vine supports, marked and drilled and bolted together the sections, may be able to fin into greenhouse as i think i can do it from the outside, have to take the glass out anyway so it should be ok.

Bolted the new vice to the new workbench, ideal for jobs like this, and the vice can be swung around on the mounting with a release handle.

O/H went to see the doc about the knee xray results, not good, she needs a new knee, not sure how this is going to effect the holiday this year, as we have no idea when she could have an op even if she passed the criteria, and convalescing.

Went to the Railway Inn for brekkie as they have stated doing it from 9am, o/h gave me a piece of her 2 fish tea as 1 was enough so had that then had some spring roll for the freezer, another meal left now, they cook good in the wok from frozen, still haven't tried the new spring roll pastry.

Mollie, Not sure when my lad was taking his maternity leave from, will have to check.

I do think Laura wants to get a new feller, thats for sure but not sure if Love Island is the right place for her.

Strawberries with melted chocolate, sounds good.

They film for so long, it's all about renting space or equipment, everything is so expensive.

It's not very easy to spot anyone in a crown on a film as the crown won't be in focus, depending on the scene of course.

Emptybox, Strange how some places can have grass thats grown and others not.

Thats bad news when your symptoms come while at work, i think you defo need a plan B, this isn't going to get any easier and you really need to know where you go from here.

I saw some of one of those "Stath Lets Flats", who pays them to film that rubbish.

Going to make the shopping list now, such a chore.

shame you got symptoms but good job you were due to go home, and that it had eased by night time. Hope it has been ok today.

Hope you do get paid what that client owes you. Not easy to chase up though if he lives in London and you won't be working for him any more.

You are losing quite a bit of work this year what with clients selling up and the grass not growing in some areas due to it being too dry.

Hicky

sounds like your vine support work is keeping you busy.

Sorry to hear it is not good news about your OH's knees. Such a common problem I believe and they are probably cutting back on knee ops. Not so sure it is that sucessfull an op any way though, is it? Did the doc give her some cream or meds to ease it? Perhaps she could try a  TENS machine like this to see if it eases it? You get them from Lloyds chemist or amazon.

http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/...igital-pain-reliever

Hope it does not interfere with your hol plans.

Yes not sure Love Island is quite the pleace for someone Laura's age to find what she is looking for. I think she is very needy and desperate to hold onto the fellas that it puts them off.

Does Love Island finish this week? It seems to of been on for a long time.

No mention of Big Brother dates yet either.

Thats nice you got brekkie out.

It was hot again today, around 27c. Took dog out early and it was still completely wind free and around 23c, so we didnt go far.

We tried a differnt pub tonight for a meal out and we all enjoyed it. It was so hot in our kitchen, I jumped at the chance of a meal out. I had mac cheese, salad and sweet potato fries. Very nice it was.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Nice day here. Mostly sunny and quite warm. Maybe up to 20 degrees?

TBH I've kinda run out of work temporarily, as there's not much needs doing before next week, and things still aren't growing in some places.
There's supposed to be rain here tomorrow anyway.

Did go and see the client I was talking about, as the letting agent said they would be up on Thursday.
There was nobody there when I arrived (4pm), so i occupied myself pruning roses, and they arrived about half an hour later. Felt a bit bad button holing them when they had a long drive up from London, but it couldn't be helped.
He told me that the sale hasn't been completed yet, so I am still working for him till the end of the month at least, which means i won't have to send the bill early.
Plus they gave me a key for the back door to the garage, so I can get the ride-on mower out when I need.
They didn't want the grass cut till next week though.
But I least I know more where I stand now. They said they'd get the new owner to email me with their contact details.

The catch on my oven door has broken and I can't see how to mend it. The fan won't come on if the door isn't properly closed. I've found that it works if I lean something heavy against it to keep it closed, so i might have to keep a brick in the kitchen for that purpose, if I can't work out how to fix the catch.

Hicky. That's bad news about your OH's knee. But I suppose with waiting lists being as long as they are that your break in January probably won't be affected?
But i guess if a slot became available she'd have to take it.

Your new vice sounds like it's going to be very useful.
That's handy that the pub has started doing brekkies from 9am.

I think my own grass is still growing because it's sheltered on one side, and has a lot of moss and clover in it? It's still growing slower than usual though.
I've also got a Clematis out now that usually doesn't flower till August. And a lovely red climbing Rose that usually carries on flowering through the summer, but all the blooms seemed to come at once, and i can't see any more coming.
A funny year right enough.

Mollie. Glad you enjoyed your pub tea. Still sounds very hot where you are though.

No symptoms for me today. It just seems to last a few hours when it comes on. Ibuprofen seems to fix it, but i sometimes need two doses of it before it does the trick.

Watched BBC1 tonight. 'Eat Well for Less' then 'Keeping Faith'.

Evening Both. :

A rather miserable day weather-wise, 19c light rain with a light wind of 8.

I was unraveling one of the Kiwi Vine lateral growth from a plastic support cord as it had wrapped along it without me noticing, it had grown about 750mm when i last noticed it but had wrapped around and grown another 500mm, i unraveled it along with a couple more when it started to rain on me, only light but stayed in after that.

My shopping arrived ok, MIL isn't well and SIL and o/h are keeping an eye on her, her symptoms seem to change like the weather.

So watched tv today apart from earlier when o/h wanted me to make a beef roast dinner, i use the meat oven thermometer probe to see how it is doing, at least you can see what the temperature is without opening the oven.

It looks better tomorrow so might be able to do some work on the greenhouse framework, i like having something to do.

Mollie, Not sure what o/h can do other than taking pain relief, part of the knee is bone one bone so exercise would hurt wouldn't it, i thought all along her knee had gone but she tried to persuade herself it was something else.

Not sure what this will do to the holiday plans, have no idea when she could have an op, there's probably a big queue.

Think Love Island fishes on the Monday 30th of July.

You are enjoying these meals out, pubs being a favourite, don't blame you, any meal out saves work in the house.

Emptybox, Thats bad news, the work drying up with the grass, hope they will keep you on when the house sells.

I doubt if you can buy new oven door catches, never heard of an oven that needs the door closed to turn on, only a microwave, or do you mean that.

Yes, with the o/h needing an op not sure if this will mess up the holiday but her knee is more important of course.

I don't knpw if your grass growing is good or bad news.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

hope some work comes up soon for you. I expect when the rain does start it will continue for awhile though, so maybe you will just end up having a later season.

That is good you now know where you are with that client.

Hope you can fix the catch on the oven ok. If not, does it mean a dreaded call out from one of  the landladys "professionals"?

Your climbing rose sounds lovely. Oddly I have noticed round here how well the roses are doing, seems to be a lot more of them this year, which looks so nice.

Glad to hear your symptoms have eased. At least taking 2 doses of ibuprofen managed to knock it on the head.

Hicky

shame the weather got wet whilst you were working in the garden. Hope the weather is ok for you to get out and work on the green house tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your MIL is non too well. Does she live fairly close to your OH and SIL? It makes it so much easier if they are not too far away.

I feel sorry for your OH it sounds horrible if it is bone on bone now. I can understand her carrying on and trying to tell herself it was not that. A you say, not a lot other than pain relief she can do. Will they tell her soon how long the waiting list is likely to be?  At least you can make some plans when you have an idea of dates.

If you go away, you could always ask for help at the airport and they will wheel her in a wheelchair.

Went to view the auction stuff again. We are getting to know staff there now and having a laugh with other customers over what we have bought. (mostly how we have to fix stuff before we can use it).

OH has at last successfully made a wind vane now for the weather station he got that was minus the vane.

Last week OH bought 3 lovely leather jackets for ÂĢ38! Our house is gradually filling up with auction stuff.

I am dead pleased with the slightly used microwave we got. OH cleaned it up to look as good as new , as the door on our old one was sticking and this is a real good one.

Our dining room chairs are nice too.

Enjoyed Love Island, but think it needs to finish soon as I am getting a bit bored of it now.

Roll on BB.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening.
Rain most of the day here. Some of it heavy. It's dried up this evening though.
Cooler as well. A high of 15 degrees.

I should have quite a lot to do next week, as the jobs that have been putting me off will all be due a visit. And I think there's been enough rain now to give it a boost, providing it heats up again.

Had another look at the catch on the cooker door and I don't think I can fix it. Something broke and a vital bit disappeared down into the door, and even if I dismantled the door and retrieved it, it would still be broken.
It's a fan assisted oven in an electric cooker. I think the oven stays on if the door is opened, but the fan won't run unless a fridge door style switch is pushed in by the door.
The brick is actually ideal for keeping it shut, and as my kitchen is a sort of muted brick orange colour anyway, it kind of fits in with the decor.

I rent the place unfurnished and undecorated, so the landlady has no responsibility for cooker and white goods etc; only the boiler and plumbing and bathroom suite etc.
No doubt I'll get a telling off from SiL when she visits, and told I should buy a new cooker. But this one's only 26 years old, and most of the rings still work as well as the grill, so I think it's good for a few more years, brick and all.

Hicky. Pity it rained on you as you were unravelling the vine.
Sorry to hear you MiL isn't well. She must be a fair age?

Mollie. You must be well and truly hooked on the auction stuff if you are on first name terms with the staff.
3 leather jackets for ÂĢ38 sounds a bargain, as long as the linings aren't moth eaten?
Glad you are pleased with the microwave.

Watched CH5 tonight 'Celebrity 5 Go Caravanning' then Jane McDonald and Friends.

Evening Both.

Not done a lot today really.

weather mainly cloudy, 19c a bit of damp in the air though, light winds of 6 to 11

Had some fried spuds left from last night, some bacon and beans, nice.

Found a bit more work to do on the greenhouse support frame for when we have the next nice day.

Having roast chicken wings in a minute, just made a loaf, no seed trying one without, will make a seed one tomorrow.

Mollie, MIL lives about 10 minute drive, SIL is an hour away.

Have no idea where we go from here as o/h would have to have a pre-op first and that could be months away, then you have to get a slot in theater.

At least if you have to fix it then it's usually cheaper.

Emptybox, Oh, it's fan assisted, a fan oven doesn't switch off if you open the door, strange.

I saw the Celebrity 5, not bad.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

Yes I can imagine you getting busy next week with all the jobs you held back on, plus as you have had quite a bit of rain now it will grow quickly. Let's hope the weather stays dry enough for you to get through it all.

Shame you can't fix your cooker door. Maybe your SIL will admire the matching decore of the brick and your kitchen decor when she pays you a visit next.   As long as your food is cooked ok when they visit, no need for you to worry though.

Yes I am hooked on the auction now. No sign of moths in the leather jackets, as they were all still in their original plastic bags with the labels on. So OH is well pleased.

The other week I bid on a little Tres-Pass pink coat for niece and another pink coat was underneath it when we viewed it, but I didn't have chance to look at the 2nd one. I just wanted the child's coat for niece for the winter. We ended up paying ÂĢ12 for it and luckily when we collected it, the other coat fitted me perfect. It was also Trespass so a good make, and waterproof with padding too so great for winter.

Hicky

hope you get a nice day to get your planned work done on the greenhouse.

Fried potatoes are always delicous. Are they still your own ones?

Was your loaf a brown or white one? Hope you enjoyed it. I know how you enjoy the seeded ones.

Yes difficult for you to plan regarding OH's knee when it is such an unknown as to the wait. Hope they give you some indication soon. Will you still go away if she is still waiting for it?

Went food shopping in tesco and had brekkie there, Not as good as the ones we have in the pub or at garden centre though and more expensive too!

Tonight I went with all the family to see this.....

https://britishtheatre.com/mis...movie-night-uk-tour/

Never seen anything like this before in the theatre.

It was very clever. It was fully improvised. The audience suggested the story, setting, character types etc. And they made up the story and songs (along with acoompanying keyboard players) as they went along. Very funny too.

We have seen plays of this company before, they were slapstick type ones, also very funny.

So didn't watch tv tonight, but there was not much on I fancied today.

Very hot here again. When we went out at 7pm, it was still 26c then! Dog didn't eat again till 10pm, I went to visit my neighbour today and her dog wouldn't eat his food either at lunch time.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi both.
Dry here with a little sun. Not sure of the temp as i only went out briefly in the van, but it's neither hot or cold at the moment, just average summer temps now.

Got a call to go and meet the new owner of the place i was talking about. She only wanted to say Hello. I was there for less than 5 minutes . Luckily it's only about a mile from my house. She didn't even give me her contact details; she says she'll text me them. A bit of a pointless exercise TBH.

Got a cheque from one of the people who hadn't paid me in June. My reminder bore fruit. Only got one outstanding now.
The cheque was dated before I sent the reminder, but it was only posted after they would have received it, so i think they must have wrote out a cheque and forgot to send it.

Hicky. The oven probably does turn off too, when you open the door. It's difficult to know for sure.
That's good that you can get some more work done on the greenhouse when weather allows.

Mollie. If those jackets are still in the plastic then they really were a bargain.
Glad you enjoyed the Theatre show. It does sound unusual. Great finding the bonus coat as well.
The heatwave continues for you then?

You're right, there wasn't much on the box tonight. I ended up watching Casualty then Mrs Brown's Boys then the film 'Pretty Woman' for the umpteenth time.

Evening Both.

Not done a lot today.

Had Black pudding, chopped up bacon and beans for brekkie, yummy.

It has been cloudy for most of the day, sunny now, 22c today, light winds.

Have just made another loaf, experimenting, 3 types of flour to see how it is, also cut the sugar by half as o/h said it was too sweet.

My new double probe oven thermometer, you can check the temperature of 2 different foods at once, as if, anyway, i will put both probes into the same piece of meat as a double check.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0...oding=UTF8&psc=1

For tea i had 2 rounds of my bread with smoked salmon and cucumber in vinegar.

Mollie, Weather not reliable enough today to start taking glass out from the greenhouse, i need 3 sheets at the back / side, same in the front area as well.

When i grow food o/h doesn't stop buying it, she carries on as normal.

The loaf was unseeded so i could try it, very nice though.

Not sure what we will do regarding the knee op, no idea.

Thats a strange thing to put on in a theater but i suppose they need new ideas and ways to pull people in.

Emptybox, As you say, they have written out the money then put it down somewhere, probably got covered with papers etc so they forgot about it.

I've never heard of an oven turning the heat off when the door opens, in fact i think just the fan turns off.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

sounds like the new owner just wanted to meet you to check you over. Hopefully your 5 minute charm worked on her and you will get the text off her soon.

Glad you got the cheque that was owed to you, as you say, sounds like they forgot to send it you. If there is only 1 outstanding now it looks like it was just coicidene you had a few late payers at the same time. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen again now.

Yes heatwave still continuing today. Car themometer stayed on 27 today when we went out. Bit of a breeze though, thankfully.

A day off work for you today?

Hicky

your 3 floured loaf sounds interesting. That is good it turned out so nice.

Hope you get a good run of fine weather to do your greenhouse, as that sounds quite a long job.

It was so hot here again today, we went to costco for a bit of shopping and ate there. Can't beat a big jacket potato with beans/cheese for ÂĢ1.50!

Watching Antiquies roadshow from Cardiff castle now. Then watching Love island. Surely Love Island finishes soon? I am getting a bit bored of it now.

I heard on the radio BB are having trouble finding celebs for CBB!

Have  good evening both xxx

M

Evening.
A sunny warm day here for a change. 26 degrees this afternoon when I was driving to Lidl.

Think I might be going to have more problems with my boiler.
I noticed this morning that there was no hot water, and when I tried to turn the boiler on manually, for hot water or heating, it wouldn't come on. When I took the front off I saw that the reset button was showing a red light, so i pressed it and the boiler immediately came on.
It's been coming on normally since, but there must be some reason why it needed to be reset? Perhaps the new nozzle that the Plumber fitted to the burner as part of the 'service' is faulty?

The oil is getting rather low, but when i put a dipstick into the tank there's still a good 6 inches in there, so should be enough to let it run smoothly I'd have thought?
I'll need to keep an eye on it, and if it happens again I'll have to decide what to do.

Hicky. Hope the loaf turns out OK.
Interesting looking oven thermometer.

Mollie. Yes, it's looking like a coincidence that I had so many late payers this month, although the one that still owes does always pay by internet banking.
He was a good payer last year, when his house was newly on the market, but it's been on for well over a year now, so he's maybe given up on a sale, so less bothered about paying the gardener.
I'm due another visit there this coming week, but unless there's something urgent to do, I shall probably give it a miss.

Glad you enjoyed your Costco jacket potato.
I saw a bit of the Antiques Roadshow from Cardiff before i watched Poldark.

Evening Both.

Not very sunny today, warm though at 24c light cloud and low winds.

The Victoria Plums are nice, just a few ready a day.

SIL came this morning to see how the garden is doing, she tasted a few of the Joan J raspberries, they are big, just a few ready, they will fruit till the frost comes.

She tested the plums, nice, enjoyed the new bread toasted as well.

I was watching another grape vine video for greenhouses and it said the support should be 6" from the glass, so i am going to alter mine, i have changed the new ones that are not installed yet and will change the one i fitted last winter, it's only an hours work on each of the 2 ends.

The bread is very nice, the 3 flours are fine, and i only put 1 TBSP of sugar in, o/h enjoyed it as well, i put seeds in as it gives a crunchy texture.

Mollie, I had black pudding and bacon for brekkie, forgot the beans.

O/H wanted me to cook a chicken for her, i put some baking spuds in the oven for tea, o/h had half the chicken so i put the other half into a pan with the onions, peppers and a container of Madras curry, yummy, will get 2 meals.

Love island finishes on the 30th, pretty sure.

Don't want a problem with CBB, mind you with it being so late that will effect things as everyone is so busy.

Yes, think you have a standing order with Costco food counter for your meal.

Emptybox, If the boiler need a reset i imagine it had a problem, maybe with fuel or air but something triggered the auto response, or could it be flame out.

I already use an oven thermometer but it has a fault in the electronics, like a dry joint, i took it to bits could couldn't get at the problem area so ordered this one it really does make life easy, and the single probe is only a few bob cheaper but 2 probes is better as sometimes the probe can get in a space of air or fat and you can get a false reading.

The gashes on my arm have gone now, the last special plaster the o/h got me did the trick, it healed under the scab and the scab stayed in the plaster, fantastic, you can't hardly see a mark.

Hicky

Just watching Love Island.

Can't believe that they actually believe that the Lie Detector test is real.

It has someone at the back who has seen the questions pressing TRUE Or Lie according to the directors wishes

I could even tell which answers would be true or lie before the computer put it on the screen.

I can't believe all those could be fooled, even the answers don't make sense to what the contestant said.

And those type of questions would never be asked in a lie detector test anyway.

It's just done to cause problems and give the producers some video material as there is no other stories to tell.

I think it most unfair but find it hard to believe they can't see it's fake.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

I can't believe how that plumber appeared to put the kiss of death onto your boiler when he came to "service" it! Yes hard for you to decide what to do next as it sounds like he won't have a clue how to fix it. In fact, you have done more work fixing it than he has!

I see you too got the hot weater when you went to Lidl.

Yes you need to think twice about doing more work next week for someone who hasn't paid for the last lot of work yet. If he hasn't sold his house in a year, then he is simply asking too much for it. (like many are now!).

Hicky

What good news the gash has healed so well. Was the special plaster silver one? I use silver ones and find them great healers.

glad to hear you got a nice day weather wise today too.

Sounds like your SIL enjoyed sampling your produce.

That is great your OH also enjoyed your bread. You must of perfected the recipe now.

You made good use of your chicken then. It was so hot again tonight that I just had cheese salad rolls for tea, couldn't face cooking.

I took dog to vets for check up this morning. She is doing ok vet said, but vet laughed at how bald she is looking from her summer allergies, so I have to continue with anti histamines. Vet has to go back to USA as her visa finishes. Shame as she has known us for years. She told us any time we can make it to the usa she;d like us to visit her.

Watched Corrie then Love Island.

Me and OH said exactly the same as you about that ridiculouse lie detector! It was so obvious it was all set up. didn't look real in the slightest and the questions and answers they have contradicted each other. Yet the girls are all throwing hissy fits about the lie detector anwers. Just shows how naive and needy they are.

Good night both xxx

M

Evening both.
Cloudy here with an occasional hint of sunshine. Warm though, up to about 24 degrees.

Got a grass cutting job done, but a couple of other places i visited still don't need the grass cut after 4 weeks. I'd have thought the rain we've had would have been enough to start it growing, but maybe not?
On the plus side, the guy that was owing has now paid online. That means i can carry on working there, but I'll keep a mental note that he's a bad payer, and not let him get too far behind.

I also went into town to pay some cheques and cash into my bank account. The tellers were busy so someone showed me how to use one of these machines to pay it in. Quite impressive. It even reads the amounts off the cheques.
I think i still prefer using the tellers though.

Hicky. Glad the SiL was impressed with your rasps, and the plums are nice.
You're becoming an expert at this bread making lark.
Pity you have to alter the support for your grape vines.
Also that's great that your arm injuries have healed so well.

Not sure why the boiler needed to be reset? It's worked fine today.
I wondered if a little bit of dirt had got into the oil perhaps? Hope it doesn't do it again.

Mollie. The guy's house is quite reasonably priced I would say. It's already at a lower price than others in the same row that have sold previously. Mind you they all took a long while to go. I think it's because the houses were built about 40 years ago, in a style that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the village they are in. Plus they are on a slope, so the main rooms are all upstairs, which might not suit many.
But my customer in the next door house tells me they are easy to maintain and heat etc.

Glad doggie passed her MoT, but pity she has lost hair due to her allergies. Perhaps that might help her lose heat in this hot weather?

Watched Police Interceptors then 'Our Guy in Russia'.

Evening Both.

Cool today here, 20c cloudy all day, light wind of 10

Had softish boiled eggs for brekkie as we had lots in the fridge.

The air was a bit wet this morning so stayed in, later it brightened up a bit.

Had a go at moving one of the 2 support rails to the right place 6" from the glass, removed the 3 panes of glass from the front side to allow me to drill the framework, didn't take too long, if weather permits will do another one tomorrow.

For tea decided to finish off the spring rolls, also to make a type of Salsa to eat with them, i fried them in the wok from frozen, that seems the best way.

Mollie, Not sure what the name of the plaster was, o/h said it is suppose to be left on until it heals, it was went all clear, i didn't think it had worked till i took it off, quite surprised.

The Victoria plums are just about ready, had another one tonight.

The big Fig tree with all the figs for this year is now growing the next flush, hundreds of them, will leave them again this year to see if they survive the winter again, in the right climate they give up to 3 lots of figs a year, you would get an awful lot.

I have taken the top net from the walk in fruit cage, it doesn't need it back till next summer.

The Claremont Farm shop have plastic containers of very good Madras curry sauces, which i keep in stock so i can make any meats into an instant curry.

Yes, i am amazed that those on Love Island have been taken it by such crazy examples of Lie Detection, the Lie buzz so so inconsistent with the other True answers.

Emptybox, It gives me something to do so don't mind changing things in the greenhouse, the onions are fantastic this year as well, in fact never seen growth like this.

Strange the boiler needing a reset, normally it would mean a serious fault of course.

My hall stat lost comms again so i swapped the transmitter, i swapped the receiver 2 months ago, i was going to buy a wired 7 day programmable stat last time they failed but o/h didn't want to, but i really need to be sure it's going to work while we are on holiday, because if the comms fail the boiler will never come on.

Hicky

glad you got a bit of grass cutting done and the late payer eventually paid up. I guess the grass will take a long time to grow again this year as it has been execeptionally dry. An expert on tv said those who water grass are just wasting water as the grass will come good as soon as we have a good amount of rain as the roots of the grass are fine. It is just the grass at the surface that goes temporary yellow when it is very dry. (I suspect you already knew that though).

that is a  clever machine that reads the amount on the cheque. Like you I prefer a person, but it is all about cutting back on staff now unfortunately.

Fingers crossed your boiler behaves now.

HIcky

hope the weather is ok for you to do the greenhouse.

Sounds like you are going to have plenty of figs to come.

Hope you can sort the boiler out so it doesn't play up when you go away. After the winter we had last time, you can never tell how cold it is going to get.

Collected our purchases from the auction today. I have a nice blue blue and chiffon lace dress, got 2 divan bases as the family's single beds were old and rickety. Piad ÂĢ90 for both, and they are John Lewis ones normally sold for ÂĢ299 each. OH just had to give them a wipe as they were dusty and fix a drawer on one of them but now they are good as new. OH also got a plastci step for our back as it is too steep from through the patio doors for me and the dog both !

Went shopping in asda too.

Had some badly needed rain today, but it cleared by afternoon. Temperatures were a lot more pleasant, around 22 highest.

Watching Love Island.Getting a bit bored of it now though.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Sunny and warm here, up to 24 degrees again.
The forecast had said rain for me, but looks like you got it instead Mollie?
I think the next couple of days will be warmer still before possible thunder storms on Friday.

Got a couple of jobs done and had a look at a couple of other places. They are just beginning to show a little growth, so I'll probably cut them in a few days.

Hicky. Well done getting the glass panes out of the greenhouse.
That's good that your plums are nearly ready, and you've a good crop of figs .
Yes I suppose it's best to leave your heating coming on low, when you are away in January, in case of hard frosts, so you don't want your thermostat not to work.

Mollie. The bed bases from the auction seem a bargain.
Glad you had more manageable temperatures as well.

I don't think any of my customers water their lawns. I was actually surprised today that one of the ones I was cutting had quite a lot of green growth after just over a fortnight. But i think there's quite wet ground underneath, which obviously hasn't dried out yet.

Yes, they used to have a business teller's position where the paying-in/cash machine now is in the branch, so i guess they have done away with one person. But at least my branch is still open. They've closed a lot of branches locally unfortunately.

watched 'Inside the Factory' and then '999: What's Your Emergency'.
I'm also bored of Love Island, and I've never watched so much as a single second of it.

Evening Both.

Nice today, sunny 23c with hardly any wind, got my washing out on the wall line to dry.

Had bacon egg and beans for brekkie.

worked on the greenhouse frame, removed the glass again this time from the rear side that needed the new section fitting, took a couple of hours, then i realised the supports at the rear across the greenhouse are set to 1 ft from the glass so will have to move those as well.

Lifted the Shallots, have hung them over one of the Asparagus fern supports for now, there is rather a  lot.

Had a BBQ for tea, just lamb chops and sausages, very nice though.

Want to start making food again, fancy some pork, prawn, onion, potato, chilli, etc but not easy when it's so hot any uncomfortable.

Trying some other milks for my coffee/tea, Lactofree and semi skimmed.

Mollie, I've found a reasonable unit for the hall wired type for ÂĢ26.99 this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beok-...MYC05X9WNPT&th=1

You did well from the Auction, if the items don't need too much work then that ideal.

CBB starts on the 17th August, it's a Friday, can't wait.

Emptybox,  I left the heating on when i went away last time but i put it on a manual constant setting, but it was too low, something like 12c, it took 3 days to warm the house back to it's normal 19c during the day, because, you don't only have to heat the air but before the air heats you have to heat what is in the rooms.

similar as when you you add cold food to boiling water, the water doesn't reboil until what you put in has heated up to the same temperature.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Nice day here as well, with sunshine and up to 24 degrees. Fair bit of wind here though.

Got a big job done that involved cutting some grass and pruning ivy from guttering, up a long ladder.

That's good that you could get on with your greenhouse work.
BBQ sounds good as well.
Good that you have an impressive crop of shallots.

Are you going to order that wired in thermostat?
I would have thought you'd only want your heating on minimum, if you were away for any length of time in Winter. Just enough to stop the pipes from freezing?
You can always wear thermal gear for a few days, while the house heats back up.

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

that is good you are having a good spell of weather too.

take care up that long ladder, good job it wasn't a windy day.

Yes they have been closing lots of bank branches round here too. Not good at all for those living in out of town places when their local village ones close down.

Boiler ok now? Hope so.

Hicky

sounds like you got a fair bit done on the greenhouse whilst the weather is good.

I know what you mean, it has been too hot to do too much cooking/ Our kitchen is in the sun all afternoon so is awful!  I have been taking lots of short cuts to avoid cooking in it, eg only using halogen oven, eating out or salads, going to chippy.

What do you do with your shallots? Eat them raw or cook with them?

Hope you are pleased with the thermostat you chose.

So pleased you have found the date for BB, can't wait.

Yes as Emptybox says, if you are away for a long time, seems a waste to heat the house too much. You could try hot water bottles along with Emptybox's suggestion of thermals. But of course you will feel the cold as you are returning from a summer in mid summer to here in our mid winter.

Having said I was bored with Love Island, I am enjoying tonight's episode with the babies. Gosh I hope Alex's description of a caesaerian does not put any viewers off having a baby! It sounded awful. The boys were so funny though when they were left with the babies.

Enjoyed our weather today, around 25c but not humid as we had a nice breeze. We went to seafront and I had a gin and raspberry sorbet ice cream, very nice it was.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Both.

Quite a hot day, forecast said 26c but the thermometer outside tbe Gazebo said 30c this afternoon.

Had bacon on toast for brekkie.

Worked on the greenhouse, took the door off and took the glass out on the front left side so i could fit the structure, thats sorted now just a few bolts and holes to go in later, need to take the apex glass out to drill the holes, another day, got to move the support structure at the back of the greenhouse next but the melon is running on the supports.

Had another BBQ for tea, sausages and quick steak slices.

The gardener popped in his hedge shears have twisted when a branch stuck, now they are useless, am going to look at them tomorrow to see if i could get them back to working, it does mean the steal is pretty soft at the bolt junction.

Edit: Just had a quick look at the shears, the spring washer that should be under the standard main securing nut is on the other end under the head of a rounded cap head, someone has moved it, will see him tomorrow, can't understand how people don't know the working of mechanics.

He was very impressed with the garden and the trees, he tried a raspberry  and a plum.

While getting a few steak slices from the garage freezer i found another bag full or spring rolls, oh dear.

Mollie, Not sure what to do with the shallots, i just grow them to see if i can.

I ordered the thermostat, will look into fitting it when it arrives next week.

Gas central heating is pretty cheap to run, it's electric that is expensive, 4 times dearer.

I normally have the night time temperature set to 17.5c anyway.

I enjoyed the babies on Love Island, Alex description was right of course.

Emptybox, Rather you up a long ladder than me, i never did like that, i got stuck on a very roof once while putting up aerials when young, we didn't have roof ladders we just walked up but i was scared of coming down, we were supposed to come backwards using our hands flat to stop us sliding down the roof.

I did order the thermostat, checked with o/h to see she was ok with it, can't keep redoing the whole resetting of the transmitter, it's a 10 minute sequence to get it working again.

I have tried 2 transmitter and 2 receivers, still the same, it's only 2 wires to get it working when i install the new one, one job i did had 5,000 wires.

I had  to put extra clothes on when we got back from the USA as the house was so cold, although the temperature never got under 12c the whole building was cold.

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

that is good the boiler is behaving now.

Did you manage to get some work done today?

Hicky

we had a BBQ for tea tonight too. It was just so hot here, it had to be a non kitchen/oven day again. I had Linda Mcartney burgers on brioche buns , salad and halumi. My family had sausages, garlic chicken, chilli chicken skewers. What did you have on your BBQ HIcky?

Sounds like you have been busy with your greenhouse.

You did well working out what was wrong with the shears.

Well it sounds like you have certainly proved you can grow shallots, even though you don't know what to do with them now you have.

Took dog out before 8am and it was already 22c with zero wind. I know that because OH has a weather station he bough in the auction! Being in the auction, It was minus the weather vine so he made one from a plastic advert he bought cheap from a shop that was closing down.

Went to Lidl to get some food shopping, tiring as it was busy and so hot outside.

Did about 5 washloads, all dried within about a quarter of an hour.

Enjoying love Island so far again tonight. That balloon ride looked wonderful. What type of car is it Alex is driving HIcky? How much do you think it is worth? It looks expensive and is a nice colour.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening.
Sunny and warm during most of the day. My van was reporting 33 degrees at one point.
Then cloudier and windy towards late afternoon.
Thunder and lightning and heavy rain for a period this evening.

Got some work done, hedgecutting and tidying up mostly.
Also called in on a couple of other places where the grass hadn't grown at all in the last fortnight, so I had to just go away again. The very dry weather is definitely affecting my business now.

Hicky. Good that you got more work on the greenhouse done.
Not surprised the gardener is impressed with your garden. Are these the electric hedecutter that has gone wrong again, or are they just manual shears that he has broken?

Didn't realise that gas is only a quarter of the price of electricity, for the equivalent unit. I think heating oil is more expensive than gas, but still cheaper than electricity.

I'm not particularly keen on working up long ladders now Not that I ever was, but i think I'm getting too old for that lark now.
I'm sure you can laugh at being stuck on a roof now, but it probably wasn't funny at the time?
Hope the thermostat you've ordered does the job you want.

Mollie. A BBQ as well for you tonight.
That was enterprising of your OH, doing an improvised fix on the weathervane for the weather station.
Probably best to walk the dog early while it's still relatively cool.

Watched 'Inventing the Impossible' on BBC2 then 'Keeping Faith' on BBC1.

Evening Both.

Warm today at 26c sunny intervals light breeze of 8 to 12.

Worked on the door end to secure the supports behind the apex glass, thats sorted now, might have to delay the back one till i can get nearer to drill, too much melon growth.

Gardener came for his shears, he was delighted i had managed to repair them for him, the new vice i bought came in very handy, asked if someone had moved the washer, he said he though it came like that, i said, no way, why would you put a split washer between to pieces of metal that are supposed to slip when the washer is to lock them from slipping and under the nut it needs a split washer to lock it from undoing.

Had 2 rounds of toast for brekkie, got my shopping, o/h brought some salmon in so i had that for tea with some scallops and boiled sliced Jersey Royals.

She got me a tin of Orange bits/peel etc to make marmalade as i fancy making some.

Think i will make another loaf tomorrow, o/h wants me to make a belly pork roast dinner tomorrow for tea.

Made 20 gallons of feed for the trees, fed the big Fig and the Kiwi Berry vine and the grape vine, also the raspberry canes, more to do the weekend.

Mollie, My last BBQ i had 4 big Cumberland sausages, and 2 quick steaks sliced into strips as they were a bit tough.

Yes, tons of shallots, and about 200 spring onions, i don't know what to do with them either.

I bought a small Wind thingy like they have on the airfield, it swirls around because it has tails and is colourful.

The car Alex had on Love Island for his date was a Ferrari, red, very expensive, they don't seem compatible so think the romance is over, don't know what the car is worth, they will have borrowed it, unless it's his.

Emptybox, They are his manual shears with pull out extension handles, he bout good Battery and electric one, these are just handy, he has probably had them in the car a while not wanting to throw them in the bin, they are Wilkinson Sword so should be good.

I think i worked out the cost for using oil, it was nearly as cheap as gas, way below electric prices though.

Yes, it was scary, the house was a 3 story with many different roof sections so i couldn't really use roof ladders anyway as the chimney was on a different section of the roof so we just walked around the roof and fitted the aerials, the mail 3 story ladder wasn't fixed or tired, it just managed to reach the gutter, which is even more scary.

Hicky

pity this dry weather is affecting your business. Hopefully the season will carry on later with the arrival of rain.

Yes best to keep high ladder work to a minimum now you are no spring chicken.

Have your symptoms kept away during this hot weather? Hope so.

Hicky

that is great you managed to repair the shears for the gardner, no wonder he was so pleased.

Is it a seeded loaf you are planning to make?  Hope you enjoy your marmalade.

Could you donate the onions you have to a local homeless place or somelike Salvation army who could use them to make meals for homeless?

How is your OH managing with work now her knee is so bad?

Went to view the auction stuff today, might be a few things we might bid on if the bidding doesn't go up too high.

We had some rain today, but it was still warm, around 25c.

Watched Corrie then Love Island.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi both.
A lovely sunny day. Don't know the temp as I wasn't out in the van, but it felt as warm as any I've had.

Decided not to go round any gardens today, as i thought it would be better to wait and see how much rain there is at the weekend, and if it starts any growth.
I cut my own grass though as it was getting a bit fluffy after 3 weeks.

I've had more thunder storms tonight, with heavy rain, so unfortunately i wasn't able to see this 'blood moon'.

Hicky. Glad the gardener was pleased with your repair of his shears.
I had a pair of Wilkinson Sword edging shears which were good for a while, but quickly lost their sharpness. I've still got them in the van I think, but i use a different pair now.

Salmon and scallops for tea? You spoil yourself.
That's a lot of feed for your plants.

Mollie. Not sure if the season will carry on longer this year? depends on how early the frosts come.
My symptoms haven't been bad the last few days. I've been making sure to drink a lot.
Hope you find some things to bid on at the auction.

Watched 5 Go Caravanning then Doc Martin. Haven't watched Doc martin for ages, but it was quite funny.

Evening Both, just watching the F1 practice from Hungary.

Didn't do any work in the garden, it was 19c cloudy and rain threatened, has a small shower, just had thunder and a 1 minute downpour like a monsoon.

Made a loaf this morning, tried this one with just strong white bread flour, with very little sugar, made the dough then took the paddles out and covered the posts in foil, haven't tried it yet.

For brekkie had black-pudding and bacon, just made a Belly Pork roast dinner with carrots, cabbage and Broccoli, mash, Yorkshire and dark thick gravy.

Trimmed the laterals on the Kiwi Berry vine as some have grown 5ft, i only need 3ft, rain is forecast for tomorrow so may have to postpone any work till Monday.

Mollie, Yes, hope the shears are ok, but once the steel bends then it will always be vulnerable to happen again, i could of course fix them again just as easy.

I tried this bread without seeds to see what it's like.

I just grow for my pleasure really, i don't want to get involved with any group.

I took my neighbour a bag of Victoria Plums this afternoon as she has stayed in, she fell in the house again the other day.

O/H is taking meds to combat the knee pain, all she can do for now.

I watch the Bargain Hunt programs, can't believe the crazy things they buy and hope to make money in the sale room, if you wouldn't pay that money to buy it if it was your own money then why buy it, it's crazy, and they wonder why they lose nearly every time, the bosses are the same, they must think that sitting in the auction room are people who want to but old antiques, it just isn't the case.

Emptybox, When the gardener gave me the shears he mentioned the play between the 2 blades, there shouldn't be play, but because the split washer was in the wrong place it meant the nut couldn't be tighten correct, if there is no washer of spilt/spring washer under a nut then the nut binds on the steel and stops you getting the correct torque on the nut because it gets jammed.

It was only a small piece of salmon so needed to add something to it, thought the scallops would enhance it, it did as well, love scallops./

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Sunshine and showers today. Some very heavy.
A very muggy night last night. I needed the fan on and the window open, and still it was stuffy. Think it'll be a bit cooler tonight though.
Didn't do much because of the rain.

Hope your loaf turns out OK.
Yes, I think the metal on my Wilkinson Sword edging shears must have twisted, because i tried sharpening them but it didn't make much difference. They 'mouthed' the grass rather than cutting it cleanly.

Pity your neighbour keeps falling over. Hopefully the plums will be welcome.
I quite like scallops, but they haven't got much taste of their own I've found. really depends on the sauce they are in.

Watched the Hobbit film tonight, for the fourth or fifth time.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

20c today, rain at times, a breeze of 19 dropping later to 11.

Didn't do a lot as i didn't know when it would rain, dug up 6 of the summer fruiting canes as the growth for next year is week and the fruit is small, may get new Joan J in the Autumn to replace.

Had sautÃĐed spuds with bacon and beans for brekkie.

Decided to just have tongue sandwiches for tea, with tomato using my new loaf.

Had similar problems as you sleeping, slept on top of duvet for most of the night.

If you can't hear the blades on the shears rubbing against each other when you close them then either the central bold is loose or the blades have bent, they should act the same s new scissors, the test is to see if they will cut paper.

Yes, Scallops not so tasty, a little seasoning is needed

Formula 1 on now from Hungary, only highlights though.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

looks like you will be seeing some grass growth and so some work soon after all the rain. Was it any cooler last night for you? It was cooler here last night.

Glad your symptoms are ok, and you are remebering the importance of keeping the fluids up.

Sounds like you enjoyed the film, the Hobbit.

Hicky

I see you are still being creative with your brekkies.

What is JoanJ?

What did you think of your seedless loaf?

What a shame your neighbour had a fall, I bet she was glad to see you with some home grown plumbs though.

Shame your OH just had to take pain killers to get by. Hope they don't have any side affects such as tiredness for her. Is she still managing to work her normal hours of work?

Been pouring down here till about 3pm. But dried up now , and is cooler but still warm and humid.

As you both say, rather uncomfy for sleeping.

Went to costco yesterday to stock up and of course to take advantage of the free food samples, plus a nice jacket potato in the cafe.

Wet today, so just quickly popped to a shopping outlet for a browse.

Looking forward to watching the Love Island final tonight.

Then it is downhill to BB.

I heard on the radio it is to be the last CBB as they are having increasing difficulty finding celebs to agree to do it. What a shame as in the past we have had some cracking CBB series. I think when C5 took over BB they have not really bothered much to keep it popular.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Sunshine and showers here all day. And much cooler. Only up to 16 degrees.
Think I'll be able to sleep tonight with the window closed. Which'll be handy because as well as having a wasps nest at the back of the house, I've now got one at the front under the slates, just a few feet from my bedroom window.

Went to Sainsburys this afternoon, but for some stupid reason i forgot to buy any bread, so I'll have to pop back sometime in the next couple of days to buy a loaf, or go without sandwiches.

Hicky. Pity some of your raspberry canes haven't been successful.
I'm not sure any of my shears could cut paper?
Hamilton doesn't seem to be doing as well nowadays? (F1)

Mollie. Yes I like The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, and all that sort of stuff.
Pity you've had pouring rain today.
Yes, a great shame if it's the end of BB after this year.

Watched Poldark, then a film on BBC2 about the American Civil War.

Evening Both.

A miserable day really, rain showers on and off, just a pain, managed to do one of the support structures on the right hand side rear panes, too 2 panes out to move the structure over 6".

Pulled some onions up as the leaves had bent over, quite bigs ones as well, better than i have had for years, all the good growth this year could be down to the amount of manure etc i gave the raised beds in the Autumn and Spring.

Don't know how the outside grape vine is doing so good, i was checking on it again today to see if there any week bunches of grapes, or any that seem to be falling behind in growth but can't find a problem, a lot have double bunches, the bunches are big and each bunch is so spread that at the moment they don't need thinning which is strange, i've never had a vine like this, and the one in the greenhouse has grown 10ft this year, 2 laterals have grown, they will get cut off during the winter period so i can train the growth next spring to give me the 4 laterals i need to train along the supports.

Am at the eye clinic at the hospital tomorrow, probably to see how the injections went, o/h is taking me so she can come in with me, think she wants to ask about the cataracts.

Love island finishes tonight, going to miss that.

Had my bread toasted with butter and marmalade for brekkie and decided to have some of the spring rolls from the outside freezer, had them fried in the wok and had some home made tomato salsa, will have to make more as i have loads of tomatoes.

Going to pick the water melon tomorrow as it's putting quite a strain on the vine supports as it's way past the 6" size to pick.

Mollie, Joan J are the best Raspberries, as far as i am concerned, have dug up 6  old canes that aren't growing too good, might replace with Joan J, not sure yet.

The seedless loaf is better if you want to use the bread untoasted, but i can't really bake 2 loaves each week.

Yes, o/h working as normal, she has mentioned that when it's possible she would like to give up the Sunday, considering her Sunday hours are now 10am till 2pm it's just a pain.

It should be interesting tonight, no idea who the public will choose to win though.

I'm sure you just go to Costco for the meal.

Emptybox,  Wonder why the Wasps love your house, do you feed them

If you get a breadmaker you could make your own bread any time, and no additives as well.

Hamilton Won, Bottas not having much luck, they go on holiday now till 26th August, mind you Lewis only gets ÂĢ1,904,761 a race, such a shame. and thats even if he loses, hate to think what he gets in bonuses.

You can't really believe what you hear about CBB/BB unless it comes from the horses mouth, just speculation in the papers.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Better during the day here. Up to 20 degrees and some sunshine.
I went into town to get a loaf of bread. Unfortunately as it's a gluten free loaf, I can't just go to the local village shop and buy one.
Then I did a grass cutting job. The grass hadn't grown much yet, but some of the weeds had shot up in the 3 weeks since it was last done.

The rain came on about 4.30pm and it's been torrential since then, so wouldn't be surprised if there's some local flooding.

That's great that your outside vine is doing so well and has grapes on it.
Pity you had rain on and off, but well done getting a bit more done to the greenhouse.
Good luck at the eye clinic tomorrow.

Never seen a wasps nest at the front of the house before, but they seem to come to the back every year, and there are usually a couple of nests in the garage.
Not sure what's attracted them to the front this year, but hopefully the torrential rain this evening has given them something to think about.

Hamilton seems to be doing better than I thought then.
That's not a bad payment. He probably doesn't mind losing, on those terms?
'Our Guy in Russia' is on TV again tonight.
